They have a paper and pen sign up system but their tables are mostly for 2-4 seaters, which makes accommodating large parties difficult. The sausages are flavorful and they are generous in portions. The special spare ribs are premarinated and flavorful. Each clay pot comes with 3 pieces of veggie, if it's not enough, you can add a side for 3 bucks which is good value. The restaurant is doing a promotion that if you prepay a minimum of $300, they give you an extra $50 on the account. You can use it in 3 restaurants and anything can be applied to it including tax and tips. This is located in the 99 ranch plaza, there is a lot of parking but finding it can still be pretty difficult at meal times and after work. Already a good sign for authenticity! You order by QR code, the service was pretty nice. Our food didn't take too long to come out. My rice was perfectly crispy, there's soy sauce at the table. There is limited seating inside. I got the cordyceps flower and chicken claypot and my partner had the lap mei claypot. Both were a little bland, but the soy sauce really helped enhance the flavor. Very satiating meal for relatively good prices! Came here at around 1pm on a Saturday - we put our names down on the list and waited around 10 minutes for a table. The wait looked pretty atrocious at first, but people are in and out of the store pretty quickly. There's a QR code to scan to order. We got the signature lap mei rice clay pot, the cordyceps flower chicken rice clay pot, the hometown fragrant handmade lemon tea, and the traditional double skin milk pudding. The food honestly took longer than I expected to come out (15+ minutes) especially considering the simplicity of the dishes, but I do understand it was very packed and hectic at the time. The clay pots are a pretty decent size. At first, it'll look like the amount of rice is too much for the toppings, but it evens out pretty well as you're eating. The sausage in the lap mei and the chicken in the chicken clay pot were both super tender and fresh. Even without the signature sauce poured in, both dishes were fragrant and flavorful. The rice gets the perfect amount of crispy at the bottom, which I feel like is hard to perfect. The lemon tea is pretty average, but get the double skin milk pudding if you come! The chicken was a smooth silky texture which paired well with the mushrooms. I think it's a great option for food delivery because the food stays warm in the clay pots. I am so glad there's another claypot place open in the South Bay. Although I'm only giving it 3 stars, I can definitely see myself coming back here. There's also no physical menu. They have the fake food display, but there's no name associated with each dish so it's like a matching game. I've overheard so many people complaining about the lack of menu and not so friendly service. One guy even canceled the wait because he wasn't able to see the menu first. There might've been miscommunication there though, because when we went in and asked for menu, they told us there were none but we could scan QR code. There's definitely room for improvement. The easiest way would be to add a big menu at the front if they don't want to print out physical ones. Kids really drank most of it but I got a bit and they were pretty on point. The stars of the show were of course the clay pot rice. My favorite was actually the chicken (surprisingly to myself). The black pepper was not overly done and the meat was really tender. The eel might've been my favorite. Unfortunately my kids ate it all. So it was their favorite obviously. The lap mei was solid. Classic choice. But a bit boring in a way. Was also pretty salty compared to the others. I mean they're suppose to be salty so not docking points but more like the others were even better. Of course the main attraction is the rice itself. They had a really nice "crust", the crispy bits you get by scrapping the sides of the pot. Came at lunchtime on a Saturday with my partner. It was ultra mega packed so be prepared for 40 minutes wait minimum. The store also isn't that big, which exacerbates the issue. Their service is slow. There are no menus and they are quite snappy if asked about the menu. Their takeout menu is in the front. Store is not very big and looks similar to other restaurants liKe Wei's fish. The ambiance of the store cannot fit many people and is quite small. But their claypots seem to all be made fresh. The rice is nice and crunchy. But more importantly, their meat was very tender and I thought it was amazing. You season the pot yourself. They give you the sauces. All in all solid but long wait, service being slow, prevent this place from getting a higher rating from me. Would still recommend if you can wait! read more

first time here. place is ok with good ambiance. staffs are attentive. for foods: 1. spicy pork ear: not spicy enough for me and a bit salty for my tastebuds 2. signature lap mei rice clay pot: the pork is a bit salty and pork sausage is just ok. just my two cents: if you can give a bit flavor for the rice, may be can help the taste in overalls 3. cauliflower in pot: mediocre and a bit overcooked in my opinion 4. steam pork dumplings: no flavors for me either for the soup inside nor the pork filling itself overall, i will say a bit pricey. i think just three stars at this time... read more

I got pretty excited just waiting in line and chatting with some of the workers here who all spoke Cantonese -- that was my first good sign! Happy to report that this was a nice claypot rice experience! They've been opened for about a month and the wait was about half an hour on Sunday evening for dinner. Write your name and phone number down on a piece of paper at the front of the restaurant and they'll call your name when you're up. The wait wasn't too bad and food came out in a reasonable amount of time. There's soy sauce on the side to pour into your claypot to customize to your liking. In general, the claypot was great! The bottom layer of rice was definitely crispy, which is important in a claypot rice. Overall didn't seem like much food for $17, but for being able to have a decent claypot rice, it's a nice experience. It was a comfortable amount of food, left the restaurant not too full and not hungry. Signature lap mei fan rice claypot - lap mei was good. Equally fat and lean pieces of pork which is great, and the sausage was decent. Special pork ribs rice claypot - I didn't think the pork ribs were anything special in terms of flavor, but it was overall tender and good. Haven't seen the claypot since childhood when I grew up in San Francisco. Very nostalgic. Small little restaurant- paper waitlist. I do feel like they are still in their soft opening. The decor is nice. I wonder if they are the same owners as local cafe. One unisex restroom. QR code to order. I didn't feel like we waited 15 mins for our claypots as other reviewers. Toppings plentiful but rice is not flavored. Soy sauce and etc on the side. Our kiddo loved the soy sauce rice and we loved all the toppings. We return once in a while. read more
