    stirfry green beans and eggplants
    Yumei H.

My family and I dined here on a Thursday night and the plaza was extremely busy. We got seated right away and ordered through the qr code. Out of the three items we got, I would recommend the green bean and eggplant stirfry and the beef stirfry with green onions. The pork ribs were really bland and had a really strong porky taste. Overall, pretty fast service and decent chinese food!

Checked out Apple Green Bistro with my husband. I did not know what to expect from the name. Did it expect the complimentary celery with peanut. Enjoyed all our dishes especially the seafood egg tofu. Good service and efficient.

Located in Cupertino Village, parking is plentiful but spots can be difficult to find during peak hours. The amniance was average/loud. Food came out quick. Flavor was good. The sauteed eggplants were so yummy. Overall, Apple Green Bistro is good. Service is quick and food is good.

I come here every once in a while, and it's also super solid for savory food, especially Sichuan flavors. The most recent time I came it was during Chinese new years and they had some bundles with less Sichuan flavors but it was still great (e.g. sweeter dishes). Was quite busy and packed when I went.

Grilled Eggplant with Meat on Sizzling Plate

The food here tastes like homemade cooking, and the portions are pretty generous -- but everything is very greasy. Cold Noodle with Chicken - 5/5 Highly recommend this one! The noodles felt like they just came out of the fridge, super refreshing and perfect for a hot day. The chicken was tender and smooth. The sauce wasn't too spicy and had a nice hint of sweetness. Szechwan Style Shredded Potato - 2/5 Tastes just like something you'd get at home. It's sour and spicy, but very oily -- especially once it cools down. The greasiness really stands out. Grilled Eggplant with Meat on Sizzling Plate - 3/5 At first bite, it was great -- crispy outside, soft inside, and the meat was nicely seasoned. But once it cooled off, it just tasted way too greasy.

We always have a great experience at Apple Green Bistro. The service is fast and the food is consistently good. The fried fish is something we recommend if you're craving something crispy. We also ordered the potatoes with Sichuan chili oil and coriander. Small portion, but perfect as an appetizer and the flavors complemented each other nicely. We tried the fish soup as well, which came out still boiling. It had that classic numbing spice. Good flavor, though we couldn't finish it because of the intensity. Overall, solid food and great service every time!

Very good Chinese restaurant in Cupertino! Though as other reviewers have pointed out, the dishes tend to the more greasy side, that's exactly what makes this taste so good and authentic. We ordered a variety of dishes and all of the portion sizes were really good. The fish was definitely a must get - it is a tad bit spicy though!

Best Cupertino Chinese restaurant! I give it 5 starts. The food was just EXCELLENT The best Kung Pao Chicken I've tried, hands down. The cuisine is mandarins style. If you like spicy food, this is your place. This restaurant uses the scan QRcode system, which means you have to place your order using your phone. The outside does not look anything special to be honest, but the food! Oh my!!! The best. Ordered Items: 1.) Kung Pao Chicken 2.) Chinese Watercress 3.) side Steamed Rice 4.) Sprite (can) Total bill $39-$40 (without tip) With tip my total was $47 WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY

I wonder if we ordered all the wrong things. Everything was super greasy and gross. I got terrible heart burn from eating here. We were really excited about this place too. The decor is clean and bright. Qr to order. Staff was okay friendly.

    Vegetable Tofu in Brown Sauce
    Jay S.

To me, the best dish was the vegetable tofu in brown sauce, because it was flavorful enough to enjoy various kinds of flavors. The establishment is clearly a Chinese restaurant that many would visit on a random basis, as it is located amongst a lot of stores that have Chinese on their titles or related to Chinese culture in an outlet format in Cupertino. I thought the Kung Pao Chicken was pretty standard and was good enough to make myself full. The black mushroom with vegetables was unfortunately below my expectations as the mushrooms had strong flavor while the vegetables didn't have any, causing a flavor imbalance, while the dish itself didn't have enough juice or broth to allow some mushroom umami flavor to flavor up the vegetables. The sesame bread with green onion was pretty thick and I mostly used it to accompany my dishes instead of rice, and since it was flavorless itself, it worked out fine. However, if one was expecting it to taste like the scallion pancakes that are popular in China, then one could be disappointed. Since there were other Chinese restaurants around the area, if I make it around the area again, I would most likely try another spot instead.

I came here with my parents and it was a no-frills chill Chinese place! Good: - Quick place, the food came out minutes after we ordered! - I liked the seafood hot plate with tofu - The A choy dish was healthy tasting, not too oily - Dim place, quiet, and good for catchups Bad: - Not much service, takes a while to flag someone down Overall, it is a nice place for quick authentic Chinese food! Reasonable price wise as well.

We used to come here at least every month before pandemic and just came back tonight. We had a great experience. Food 4/5 We had the following: - Cauliflower & pork hotpot 5/5 - mushrooms chicken 4/5 - beef with peppers and cilantro 4/5 - fish with tofu 4/5 - spicy cold noodles (free with cash purchase over $55) 4/5 (mostly noodles but tasty and free!) - beef chow fun 4/5 - green beans 4/5 - walnut prawns 4/5 (prefer less sweet but a favorite) Above came out to be $160 for 8 of us. Very reasonably priced and satisfying with no leftovers and just enough. Service 4/5 Used link to order but requested menu to see bigger pictures. Service was adequate for Chinese restaurant. Ambiance 4/5 3 large tables and clean restaurant

Uzumakiya had beef broth, supposedly oxtail broth. It's lighter in consistency than the ramen broth. Tasted more meaty without being heavy or fatty. The noodles were thicker but not chewy. The chashu (pork) slices that came with it was tender with just enough fat to give it the umami flavor. The Tonkotsu Ramen had the thinner noodles. The broth was creamier and richer than the beef broth but not bold or complex compared to other ramen broths I've had but still has a nice balance of flavor between the pork and dashi. Had the same chashu slices. Had more umami flavor than the Udon. Love the Hojicha Panna Cotta. Very smooth consistency. I felt like I'm eating something fancy but not heavy. Combination of light roasted tea and milk flavor. Just the right amount of sweetness. Enjoyed this the most. They had a $3 discount on their Udon. Food came out quickly. Staff were welcoming.

Located in a bit of a run down plaza off Homestead in Cupertino, there is ample parking but I was a bit skeptical pulling in. There is a kiosk in front and you can add your name to the waitlist. We were seated after a short 10 min wait. It was busy (on a Friday night) and the staff was moving efficiently to take all the waiting orders. We ordered the Fried Tofu to start. Wife got the Green Curry (mild) with chicken, mother-in-law ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken and I tried something new with the Kua Kai with Crispy Pork. Also added in a Singha which came with an ice cold glass. Food came out quickly and the tofu was crispy and the sauce was enjoyed by all. My dish was the star and we all loved the stir fried flat rice noodle and the crispy pork! The green curry spice level was good for us but kids passed. The Pad See Ew was pretty solid but similar at most places. Really enjoyed the Thai chilis in garlic and vinegar. Enjoyed this place so much, I came back a few days later for lunch with my colleague. This time got the Pad Woon Sen and he got the Pad Kee Mow both with Crispy Pork. Would say it wasn't as good at lunch since the Crispy Pork was a bit over and chewy. Still was enjoyable and has me wanting to come back. Spice levels seem pretty fair, I don't handle spicy much but enjoy a bit. The waiter initially tried to show me the menu and point out the dish, but it was clearly different from what I had ordered. He shortly realized there had been a mistake, and thankfully the correct dish came out about 5 minutes later. Unfortunately, the pasta itself was disappointing. The noodles were undercooked, and the sauce was quite bland. I was expecting the four-fish dashi and bacon flavor to stand out, but I didn't really get much of either. The sesame seeds were also very overpowering and seemed to take over the dish. Overall, the sauce tasted more like a basic, thin cream sauce that didn't coat the noodles very well. The bacon and mushrooms also didn't add much flavor or stand out as much as I expected. My friend ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry. The katsu itself looked crispy and appetizing, but the curry came out lukewarm. My friend was okay with the temperature, but when I tried it, I was honestly surprised by how close to room temperature it was. I would have expected the curry to at least be served hot or noticeably warm. Overall, the presentation of the food was nice, but unfortunately the flavors and temperature of the dishes didn't meet our expectations. Between the initial order mix-up, undercooked pasta, bland sauce, and lukewarm curry, it just wasn't a particularly memorable meal. There are definitely some things that could be improved.

Adding some of the soy sauce at the table gave some savory sweetness to the dish which I recommend. Sampan Congee - Flavor was really good, and the peanuts were a great add to this given its crispy texture and savory taste. The congee itself was pretty standard and not the most velvety texture I'd prefer, but still pretty decent. Curry fish balls and pork skin - has a kick, decent curry flavor. We were looking to catch up in person on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. All tables were full and there were a couple of other parties waiting inside when we walked in, but the wait for a table was not bad at all. It is on the noisier side since the clientele is primarily Asian, and service tends to be short since that's what would be considered authentic. I got the beef noodle soup with the wide noodles since it was a chilly day and I wanted something warm. In the past I've gotten the tomato and eggs sauce noodles, which was very tasty and not a bad option for a hot day as the noodles themselves come out cold. Make sure to bring some floss if you get the beef noodle soup, some of the meat gets stuck in my teeth every time. Service does tend to be short so don't expect anyone to wait around for you to order or extra pleasantries. But this isn't surprising given the type of restaurant so it didn't detract from the meal. The check comes to you when you're about done so there is no need to flag anyone down after finishing. I would definitely revisit if I have cash on hand and am in the area. I would recommend this spot to anyone interested in authentic Chinese noodles, hot or cold.

It's just too far when you're hungry and slightly hangry... I did a quick Yelp search and was surprised (and excited!) to find LHL Malatang just under 10 minutes from home! The place wasn't busy at all when we got there, which meant no crowding at the buffet style section. I loved how smooth it was to grab all my favorite toppings without having to wait in line. Only minor letdown? There were only a few slices of beef left, so I opted for lamb instead but it still hit the spot. My bowl ended up being about $26, which honestly felt like a steal considering it was nearly 2 lbs of food. Definitely way more affordable than some other spots I've been to. I went with the mild beef bone broth but my Bestie got the sour spicy beef bone broth and wow, game changer. I kept sneaking sips from his bowl! Next time, that's definitely what I'm getting. Super flavorful and it lingered in the best way. All in all, I'm a fan. With how close it is to home, I can already tell this is going to be my new go to malatang fix. Highly recommend giving it a try if you're in the area and to get their sour beef bone broth!

I'm happy there's so many malatang places opening up in the South Bay. Malatang is one of my…read morecomfort meals and I love how accessible it is now. LHL is located in a giant strip mall near Crunch Fitness so warning that parking might be hectic during peak hours. The inside of the restaurant is super clean and sanitary, with a sanitation(?) cupboard for the bowls and tongs. All the ingredients were super fresh and the employees were constantly refilling any veggies or meats that were low. Their sauce bar is clean and well-stocked, however I did feel that their sesame sauce was watered down. I got the spicy bone broth in hot and I thought it had enough of a kick, but I could've gone spicier! My friend and I also felt that their broth didn't have enough of the richness/depth that we enjoy. I'll give them another visit in a few weeks to see if they work out the few kinks. They're offering 15% off your entire bill until mid May in celebration of their grand opening!
