E1. Sizzling Plate Chili Lamb nice
Joyce T.

Another mediocre Chinese restaurant, there was a cockroach crawling out from nowhere to our table, before I took a photo, it was flicked away by a finger of my friend. Spicy cabbage and lamb in sizzling plate were both delicious but the wonton with chili oil were so bad, the chili oil was too bland and the wonton skin was too thick and the meat was too little.

Smoked Duck

Everything here was pretty good except for the smoked duck. The duck was SO dry and there was hardly any meat on it. You can visibly see how dry it was from the photo. I let the waitress know as we were checking out and she didn't say much, I had to ask for her to take it off our bill, considering we didn't even touch it after the first piece. I have heard the duck is good on other occasions though, just hope that the consistency can be improved.

The restaurant was busy the day we went. Food kind of fast but the fried rice was the last thing that comes out. The food was good. The price really good. Compare to the portion. It was 5 of us and we not finished the food.

South Sea pie, Tofu hua, Xlb, dumplings, dalu noodle

Ending Sunday funday with some Chinese food. Best restaurant in Cupertino Village imo. First time visiting and decor was very pretty and they got a big ass fish tank with arowana by the entrance. We got seated immediately and wasn't too crowded before closing time. We ordered South Sea pie, Tofu hua, Xlb, dumplings, dalu noodle, and everything was so delicious and definitely authentic Chinese cooking. Looking forward to returning to try other items or the same items cus they're that good

Fried rice

This restaurant is located in a small plaza area filled with various other Chinese restaurants and shops. They provided the menu on an ipad and we ordered a couple dishes (party of 5). The fried rice was pretty decent and what you would expect. The sautéed garlic pea sprout was the same and pretty much what you would expect. The pork and taro pot were very flavorful and delicious. The chicken was tender and the flavor of the sauce was absorbed well through the taro. The soured/pickled napa cabbage with lamb was the best dish to eat on a cd winter night. It was a super large pot with a lot of soup. It was also full of meat, vermicelli, and pickled cabbage. Its a great place if you are looking to eat some hearty and flavorful Chinese food.

Came here to dine in for dinner Saturday evening. We were not given an iPad but ordered through the QR code. Seating is comfortable and the tables are spread apart. The food does take a bit to come out. Otherwise good and tasty with wide variety.

Nutrition Restu in Cupertino is a drive for us, BUT for family is all the worth the drive...Celebrating baby bro's bday... Firstly, our hostess w/ the mostess ordered two of everything on the menu. We might've needed two tables but we managed to eat and pack togo's on the go's to make room for the other dishes that kept coming out: clay pots, dumplings, fish, meat dishes, mollusks, soups, and noodles to name a few. We particularly enjoyed the stir-fry veggies and dumplings...nice presentation and visually appealing and good taste to match! It's a lot of food, but the sweet severs did a great job, remaining calm, as we continued to bombard them with requests and drinks and boxes and so forth. They were very accommodating on top of the restaurant being super full and busy. Tons of take-homes of left over dishes and they even accompanied in a bday song for the bday boy. Xièxiè very much!

Came here with my mom to try some local Chinese food. We ordered a few things to try from their menu. Overall I would get most things again EXCEPT the duck. The duck came last and we were very disappointed. The duck came very dry, and honestly looked old and reheated. My mom was super disappointed as my family frequently orders duck and this was the first time we had something of low quality. So I highly recommend passing on this if you come here. But try some of the other dishes. The veggies we got were cooked nicely and tasted very homey. The pork dish we got was very yummy and a good mix of sweet and savory. The pan fried dumplings were HUGEEEE and very soft. But it wasn't the best pan fried dumplings I ever had - would pass on this and get one of their other dishes next time.

Had this for takeout and the portions are generous and the flavors delightful. Honestly I'm confused why this place doesn't have more stars! We had: 1. Honey walnut shrimp 2. Salted fish and chicken fried rice 3. Lufa with bamboo I would definitely get all orders again. We had 3 people share this order and had leftovers for 1 person to eat for lunch. Flavors hit the spot and would definitely revisit again. Definitely feels authentic too!

打滷麵 thick sauced noodles
Sin-Yaw W.

I remembered why I did not come for 4 years. The soft tofu 豆腐腦 was right in texture, but not the sauce which is heavily starched and soy-sauced, not much else flavored. The thick sauced noodles 打滷麵 was basically the same sauce with more veggies. The noodles were a bit overcooked. The steamed corn-floured veggie dumplings were good. The star of the meal was 3-meat dumpling 三鮮水餃. Guess I don't mind coming to sate a hunger, but that's about it.

The first time I came to this restaurant, I felt entitled to an all-American level of service and felt offended that the servers were not polite, and in fact chastised us for not giving them the signal to start certain dishes (in China it is more expected that this is the customer's job, not the server's job). But at the same time, I was very ignorant to the cultural differences since I was raised in America. The first time I swore I would never come back because I didn't like the service. And yet, I have been coming back religiously every chance I've gotten over the last 10 years, every holiday, every family dinner, every birthday. Why? Because the food is fucking good bro. That's what keeps everyone coming back every time. This place has stayed the same in terms of the excellent food quality over the years. There was no doubt in my mind that they would make it through the pandemic and continue to thrive. I don't know what authentic tastes like because I haven't stepped foot in the Motherland since I left 20+ years ago but I don't want it if it doesn't taste like this. If you want a well balanced meal for 2-3, here's my recommendation: * Tomato Egg Soup * Chongqing Chili Chicken * A Choy * your choice of fried rice If you're in a fun breakfast mood, I recommend: * Soy Bean Milk (unsalted) * Deep-Fried Dough Sticks * Pork and Preserved Egg Porridge If you want something to feel guilty about later, add: * Baked Pumpkin Salted Egg Yolk * Banana with Sugar If you want a discount, pay in cash and make sure your order is over $35. If you want something done just tell the waiters and they'll do it for you and don't take their "attitude" personally, they're just busy getting shit done.

The space is quite large, but the tables are positioned a little bit too closely together, which can make for a cramped dining experience, we can clearly hear the conversation from the next table. Ha. The ambiance here is kinda like those chain Chinese restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised by the service here. Our server, who seemed like a friendly northern auntie, provided excellent service with a touch of warmth. It added a sense of welcomed to the overall dining experience. We decided to indulge in some dumplings. The sauce accompanying the sweet and sour pork looks quite red but had a decent flavor. However, the outer layer of the pork lacked the desired crispness. On the other hand, the boiled fish was a standout dish, delightfully combining sweet and spicy flavors. And I must say, the steamed buns were absolutely fantastic, leaving me craving for more.

My favorite place for a Chinese breakfast spot- Love the sesame cake with beef/egg, the you tiao, soy milk. The best freshest you tiao that I've been able to find Ordering from an iPad Fast service Never too crowded on a weekend morning for my favorite breakfast items!

There was no line for us to be seated. I was able to flag down a server to seat us since they seem to be extremely busy cleaning tables and servicing others. The hotpots are full of ingredients and the broth has always been tasty. Unfortunately, the meats seem to be overcooked. Prices have been going up over the years where only the monthly special is enticing for the value. Servers were friendly and checked in on us, but it took 25 minutes for our food to show up at our table after we ordered. The only consistent experience I've had are the oranges at the end of the meal. They are always amazingly sweet, juicy, and comes off the peel easily. I don't usually enjoy oranges, but I love the ones HomeEat offers! Will be back if in the area, but hope kitchen service will be quicker in the future.

The yellow braised chicken over rice is a traditional northern Chinese dish originated in Shandong province. Who would've thought the combination of garlic, ginger and soya sauce produces such a beautiful yellow glossy color while it trumps the aromatic and rich taste. The chicken pot can be had either boneless or with bone. We ordered the boneless. It was very tender. The pig's trotter pot was braised slightly differently, but equally delicious. I wasn't impressed with the watered-down soup that had barely anything in there and tasted bland. Veggie side dish ok. It's a comfort food with a swagger. Surprisingly, the normal Dan Dan noodles ("special sesame dry noodle") were quite bad. The beef and tendon noodle soup is not bad, decent for when I was sick. There is a "beef and tendon noodle soup" as well as a "beef only noodle soup" on the menu - you might think the beef only one would be better value and have more meat, I ordered both to see the difference - even though the meat only one does have more meat, the meat is more tough and very hard to chew. After placing our order, the food came out relatively quick. We ordered 2 beef noodle soups, the works, and 2 beef rolls. Starting off with the beef rolls, these came out cold. I heard that this is what this place was known for. The meat in our rolls wasn't even lukewarm and the pancakes came out super soggy almost like they didn't even try. Please tell me how the pancake look brown and crispy on the outside and still comes out cold and not crispy at all. My nephew even said they weren't crispy and he's 3. The lady told us that the sauce on the inside was salty and that's why they don't give extra and man was she right. 1/5* The beef noodles soup itself flavor wise was good and portion wise it was good for $21, but my noodles had no chew to them at all. I was attempting to pick them up with chopsticks and they would just break into pieces. They do give a decent amount of beef though in this. 2.5/5* for the flavor but don't expect much from the noodles. Same thing went for the works, it was a peanut buttery sauce that the lady claimed wasn't spicy, but my parents noticed that it had a kick to it even though they asked for it not to be spicy. The egg is a nice touch but not too sure if it's worth the price. Noodle consistency was the same as the beef noodle soup. 2.5/5*

It is a bit of a dumpy place right next to a gas station, across from an empty strip mall shop area! We weren't even sure the restaurant was open when we got here. We were asked to pick any table - mostly booths. There's a QR code to scan and place your order. After peruse quite an array of items we picked the ma po tofu and the beef with onions. Service was minimal- we weren't even sure presented with 2 cups and a carafe of water to start. Our order arrived and we got a complimentary seaweed miso soup. Soup was quite good with real seaweed - not the dehydrated stuff in some Japanese restaurants. Surprisingly the food was delicious! The ma po tofu was very authentic. There's schezwan peppers or Mala in it but it was not overpowering that it numbs your tastebuds! The tofu was soft and silky. The beef had good flavor and balanced the meal out. Beef was tender. Overall we enjoyed our meal. Will definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu If you're not familiar with traditional Chinese entrees the menu can be quite daunting and a turn off. However I can honestly say this restaurant is just as good as the best Hunan/Sichuan food from the San Gabriel area. This used to be a different Sichuan dry pot restaurant that was so so and I really haven't gone back since the new one opened up. The name is also really misleading because many Taiwanese restaurant use Grandma as the name. As a foodie this restaurant is legit. It's in a small plaza shared with another Taiwanese restaurant so parking can be difficult but there are plenty of street parking right next to the restaurant. The interior is clean and well organized. The service is prompt and good enough. They ask for reviews but didn't promise some freebie for a semi fake 5 star review which is great. I never leave a good review just for a freebie because my integrity is way more expensive than freebies. The food is phenomenal and authentic in every way. The frogs are tender and the spices are not overwhelming and brings out the flavor of the frog meat just right. The cured pork (pig face meat) is very rare in the states. It's also cured properly to give the authentic hunan flavor. They also mix it with raddish slices which is also rare in most Chinese restaurants here in the states. Even the conch with bamboo shots surprised me in how thin the slices of the conches are. It's also flavored without being too spicy nor too salty. Everything is on point. I do wish they used better white rice but that alone is not enough for me to take off any stars. This is just a wonderful restaurant that's on par with my favorite hunan restaurant in San Gabriel and I'm so glad I found it because I'm sure going to go back every week now.
