    Lamb, Beef, pork belly

I came here a weeknight with my friend since we were craving some chinese food and this place was open late. It was pretty empty. We were seated immediately and given water. You order through a QR code and the service was pretty hands off although the waitress did come to check on us once in a while and refill the water pitcher when it was empty. We ordered lamb, beef, and pork belly skewers, Grilled eggplant, and a spicy sour noodle dish to share. The food came out pretty quickly and we were really impressed by the eggpland and noodles. The eggplant was our favorite followed by the noodles. I think some of the skewers were a little tough (maybe the beef? I couldn't really tell the difference between the lamb and beef) Our favorite was the pork belly. This could be a cool place to hang out with friends for some beers and drinks and skewers late at night.

General impression I enjoyed the decor and service very much, it reminded me of Beijing service and street food. Service The server was prompt and my wife enjoyed a humorous conversation with them. My wife speaks fluent mandarin as well as my daughter. Food arrived off the grill to our table. The table beat and clean. Ambience Calm and quiet. The place to eat Chinese barbecue. Finally the food Well seasoned and not salty Of course there is room for improvement Overall, very good Recommendation Yes, looking to socialize and eat only Chinese barbecue, this is the place

Ahhh, so this is where the AZN youngins go before/after boba?! Not sure if that's a typical Saturday night at TLT & Grill but I felt like auntie at the club. Usually, it's reverse because I eat earlier than seniors...at 4 pm. Then, again...these youngins are probably 40 in reality cuz Asian don't raisin! Visited TLT & Grill for Shaokao, Northern Chinese BBQ Skewers...the ideal drinking food: low carb and protein heavy. They're open for takeout, delivery, indoor dining, and limited outdoor dining (3 tables). Come early because TLT & Grill already had a waitlist 30 minutes into opening. Plus, food takes a loooong time. I polished off a bottle of soju before the first round of skewers arrived. Maybe that's the intention so you have mad drunchies and order more?! M E N U Via QR code (also place your order via QR code): Chinese BBQ Sticks, Salads, Family-style Seafood, Meat, Rice, and Noodle Dishes. The bill adds up quickly so beware. Soda, beer, and soju available. No full liquor license. With the mask mandate lifted, staff still wore masks which I always appreciate. F O O D All the skewers are seasoned the same with a cumin and red chili pepper spice mix. If you want a specific spice level (mild, medium, spicy), you can tell the server directly after you place your order via QR code. There's a shaker with cumin seasoning and chili powder on each table if you want your skewers more seasoned. ***BBQ skewer spread: https://bit.ly/39syI2L and https://bit.ly/3vCOzEJ * 牛肉串 Beef ($2.75) * 烤牛筋 Beef Tendon ($2.50) * 烤板筋 Beef Back Strap ($2.50) * 烤鸡翅 Chicken Wings ($3.50) * 烤鸡胗 Chicken Gizzard ($1.50) * 烤鸡皮 Chicken Skin ($2.50) * 烤鸡心 Chicken Heart ($1.50) * 烤羊腰 Lamb Kidney ($3.50) * 烤羊蛋 Lamb Testicles ($6.50) * 烤肠 Sausage ($1.99) * 台湾烤肠 Taiwanese Sausage ($3.50) * 烤五花肉 Pork Belly ($2.75) * 烤黄花鱼 Yellow Crocker ($1.99) * 培根金针菇 Bacon Mushroom ($3.50) All the skewers were SOLID (except one). They were cooked well with the proper texture. Well-spiced with an earthy heat and subtle smokiness. I appreciated that they weren't heavily seasoned, as I sometimes find Northern Chinese BBQ skewers to be cumin heavy. Favs: Chicken skin, beef tendon, chicken gizzards, lamb testicles, and yellow crocker (you can eat the head, bones, and all). Least fav: Beef back strap. I've only seen this offcut at pet shops as a dog treat so I was curious to try it. Not a fan of the stringy, chewy texture. * 锅包肉 Sweet & Sour Pork Tenderloin ($18.99): https://bit.ly/38zYWjc Lightly battered, the sweet & sour pork was crunchy and lean. A bit on the dry side because of the cut. I liked the tangy sweet & sour sauce but for the price, I would skip this next time and just order more skewers. S E R V I C E Friendly and helpful. We arrived before opening time and they kindly sat us outside. Food service is slow...but I anticipated this after reading the reviews so we came early. The skewers arrived in waves, and it took 25+ minutes for the first wave to arrive. I saw tables seated after us wait over 30-40 minutes for their first wave of skewers so don't come hangry! A M B I A N C E Casual and lively. P A R K I N G Easy parking in the plaza. Overall, I enjoyed my meal at TLT & Grill. Most of the negative reviews are for the slow food service so def an underrated place, as far as the food goes. TLT & Grill is the only place for shaokao with outdoor seating (that I could find) so def coming back...with a pack of peanuts in tow!

My brother came through one night with his coworkers and have since raved about this place saying, "mom, we gotta go!" WELL GEEZ, LET'S GOOO ALREADY. Came through this past weekend on a Sunday. We thought the wait would've been long so we got there a few mins after opening only to realize... no one's here. Okay, well... more food for us. TLT & Grill are located inside a plaza so parking is abundant. I want to say they have outdoor seating, but it's really just one picnic table. Majority of the seating is indoors. You get a QR code to scan and order from and then the server will bring the skewers your way. Honestly, everything was good. The squid can be a bit tough to bite, but everything else was cooked perfectly and the seasoning was good. Only downside is they only use one seasoning for all the food so there's not much variety there.

I don't know why the Yelp score at this place is so low, because the food has been excellent both times I've been here. You basically can't go wrong here. Everything on a skewer is good: lamb, buns, squid tentacles, chicken skin, chicken cartilage, and much more. The thing that surprised me was the duck blood soup. The duck blood had a great flavor and such a unique, bouncy texture. I try to come back here every time I'm back in the South Bay.

Quick update! Since my dad's an essential worker, I've been fortunate enough to still be able to get take out now and again during Shelter in Place. TLT & Grill is still very much open for takeout! Please support restaurants, especially right now, if you're able to! After the ride home, the BBQ is still delicious and crispy. I love Taiwanese Lettuce, and it's harder to get in at grocery stores right now, so in the photo I ordered around 6 portions worth. Their chicken skin, intestines, and buns are some of the best out there-- grilled to perfection. My family also enjoys their shrimp skewers, as shown below as well!

I have been craving for some Chinese BBQ and found TLT opens on Sunday for lunch :) I avoided weekend nights because restaurants usually gets super busy, and not many bbq spots open on Sunday, so TLT was perfect choice. Environment: there were a few outdoor seating and it's a casual, fun place for bbq. Food: Lamb skewer (score 4/5): It's generally pretty good. I gave 4 because I prefer my lamb skewers have a bit more fat. The lamb skewers seasoned very well. Scallop (score 5/5): it comes with 6 scallops. Garlic scallop is my childhood favorite. They chose big scallops and garlic flavor was so tasty! I highly recommend this dish. Chinese chives (score 4/5): I saw good reviews about it so I give a try. However I wasn't a big fan. I can't really taste the chives itself with bbq flavor. Pull string fried sweet potato (score 100!!): it's so, so, so good!! I have never had fried sweet potato in US yet and it's my childhood memory they give you a little bowl of water to dip the smoking hot, fresh fried sweet potato in there. It's so fun to eat this dish and it tastes so delicious!! Service: I really had a good experience at TLT. The waiter were super nice. They give you a bar code to order from Chowbus and food came out quickly in about 15 min. Everyone was sweet and nice there. Parking: it's easy to find a parking during lunch hour. Can't speak of dinner time parking situation. I would visit again :)

They opened on thanksgiving night, never been to this location. Only tried the one in Newark, Cupertino location is much more comfortable. Don't come hungry, it takes time for them to grill each skewer. My favorites are the eggplant, tofu skins, lamb and beef tendons. Some of them a little too salty.

    Yangzhou fried rice
    Eeki L.

Meh. Everything a bit on the sweeter side. The Yangzhou fried rice was not actually legit..they put sausages in it and it tasted plain. The lamb skewers needed more spice. And the skewered egg was weird spongy.

Prices have been going up over the years where only the monthly special is enticing for the value. Servers were friendly and checked in on us, but it took 25 minutes for our food to show up at our table after we ordered. The only consistent experience I've had are the oranges at the end of the meal. They are always amazingly sweet, juicy, and comes off the peel easily. There is a QR code on the table that you have to scan to order- unfortunately the app to order requests a lot of information and also requires your phone number and verification. The staff were incredibly slow given how empty the restaurant was. One member in our party had trouble ordering on the app. We also had a very long wait when we asked for to go boxes for our leftovers and when we asked to pay the check. In fact, my friend ended up eating the rest of his food because it took so long to get a box for leftovers. I ordered the boneless yellow braised chicken rice mild- the chicken came with skin on and jalapeños and a side bowl of rice. The food was simple and tasty. Overall, I would only go back if I were in the area and had a lot of time to wait/ wasn't in a hurry. The food was tasty and hearty and came out relatively quickly. The service was slow and we saw multiple staff members waiting around when we were trying to pay our check so we could leave and bike home before it got too dark. We tried requesting wait staff through the app, since they didn't come over when we waved- but that was also not successful. And after waiting for 10+ minutes we were able to get the check to pay. The food was good and I wouldn't be opposed to getting food or eating here again. I just wouldn't come here if I were short on time or in a rush. We were able to pay for Our items separately, since we each placed our order online- so that was nice and kept things simple within our group.

Please tell me how the pancake look brown and crispy on the outside and still comes out cold and not crispy at all. My nephew even said they weren't crispy and he's 3. The lady told us that the sauce on the inside was salty and that's why they don't give extra and man was she right. 1/5* The beef noodles soup itself flavor wise was good and portion wise it was good for $21, but my noodles had no chew to them at all. I was attempting to pick them up with chopsticks and they would just break into pieces. They do give a decent amount of beef though in this. 2.5/5* for the flavor but don't expect much from the noodles. Same thing went for the works, it was a peanut buttery sauce that the lady claimed wasn't spicy, but my parents noticed that it had a kick to it even though they asked for it not to be spicy. The egg is a nice touch but not too sure if it's worth the price. Noodle consistency was the same as the beef noodle soup. 2.5/5*

However I can honestly say this restaurant is just as good as the best Hunan/Sichuan food from the San Gabriel area. This used to be a different Sichuan dry pot restaurant that was so so and I really haven't gone back since the new one opened up. The name is also really misleading because many Taiwanese restaurant use Grandma as the name. As a foodie this restaurant is legit. It's in a small plaza shared with another Taiwanese restaurant so parking can be difficult but there are plenty of street parking right next to the restaurant. The interior is clean and well organized. The service is prompt and good enough. They ask for reviews but didn't promise some freebie for a semi fake 5 star review which is great. I never leave a good review just for a freebie because my integrity is way more expensive than freebies. The food is phenomenal and authentic in every way. The frogs are tender and the spices are not overwhelming and brings out the flavor of the frog meat just right. The cured pork (pig face meat) is very rare in the states. It's also cured properly to give the authentic hunan flavor. They also mix it with raddish slices which is also rare in most Chinese restaurants here in the states. Even the conch with bamboo shots surprised me in how thin the slices of the conches are. It's also flavored without being too spicy nor too salty. Everything is on point. I do wish they used better white rice but that alone is not enough for me to take off any stars. This is just a wonderful restaurant that's on par with my favorite hunan restaurant in San Gabriel and I'm so glad I found it because I'm sure going to go back every week now.
