It was empty when we came at noon. The sandwiches were much better than we expected. I like Togo's. Is that a low bar? Two of us got "the melt". It was panini grilled with hot prosciutto, salami, mozzarella, provolone, spinach and sun dried tomato spread. It had a lot of good flavors. It was not great but good. If they used a really good bread, it could be excellent. One of us got the "giving thanks", turkey, cream cheese, cranberry sauce, mayo, Dijon mustard, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and red onions. They love the "holiday turkey" at Earl of sandwich which has stuffing and gravy. This one is more similar to Togo's turkey cranberry and they feel they are about the same. We ordered fries and onion rings too. It took awhile because they had to heat up the oil in the fryer. There were more than 3 employees. It looks like the previous taqueria with a new menu board. Got a sandwich here for the second time and was pretty disappointed- I ordered the same sandwich as last time (vegan fried chicken) but it was nowhere near as good. First of all, I ordered it on sliced sourdough and they gave me a french roll. I also specified no tomato and they left the tomato in. The sandwich is also supposed to have shredded lettuce and pickles, they gave me leaf lettuce and no pickles. The Don's Deli was previously next to Philz Coffee in the Plaza del sol. I am not sure when they moved to this new location but here they are. We came in this afternoon for takeout and got the Medi and The Slammer. I love their sandwiches especially at such good prices and fresh ingredients. Honestly, if I could give it 0 stars I would. When first looking up this place, I am pretty sure I looked up the Mountain View location which had better reviews. The Sunnyvale location is a definite miss/skip! I was craving a good deli sandwich so we ordered here. At first the pick up time was 4:24 (we ordered at 4:09) it was quickly updated to 4:54. I assumed they were packed which is why the time was changed by almost 30 minutes. Upon arrival the sign said grand opening, but it definitely looked old. I walked in to see no one around. There was someone kneeling down behind the register. After she did not notice me I said "hello". She said hi and that was the end of the conversation. I then said I had an Uber Eats order to pick up. She asked if it was 4 or 6 items. I said 4. She told me it was almost ready. That gave me time to look around. The place looked dirty. It was not what a "normal" deli looks like. The back where you typically would see sandwiches made, that was all storage. I heard something ding in the back and assumed that was my food. Picked it up. No thank you. No have a nice day. Nothing. Got home and was not impressed. My chicken sandwich looked to be shredded chicken. It was dry and the bread was hard. My fiance got a tritip sandwich and was not impressed with it either. This is a small local chain serving a great variety of deli sandwiches with fresh ingredients. I had the Dirty Bird on soft French bread and my wife had the tuna and avocado on sourdough. Both were fresh and tasty. We took them on a picnic, so we didn't add anything else, but they also offer a variety of sides, chips and cookies. Every now and then they give out a free cookie! The staff was efficient and polite, and the store is conveniently located off of Saint Francis in Sunnyvale where you can eat outside on a nice day. read more

I ordered the tri tip French dip. Good tender bites, nothing too hard to chew through in either meat or bread. I was expecting the spread to be more abundant on the inside, but they gave me a side so I could apply as much as I needed (but didn't have a knife to do that). Au jus was nice and hot and not overly salty (could even drink like a nice broth afterwards). Friendly bilingual (English/Spanish) staff. No wait time and totally empty Sunday afternoon. Backdrop is interesting, but otherwise pretty barebones. Tables could've been better kempt, but not terrible. Restaurant is not kept very clean. Lots of dirt and clutter. When I walked in it was a bit surprising. No one around, so I had to ring the bell to get someone to come from the back. I'm not sure if I want to give this a 3 or 4 so I will bump up. I got the Nola with dutch crunch. I liked the bread. It was crispier and a bit less tough than many dutch crunch I've had. I feel they were a bit light on the meat. Overall flavor was fine. There was some acidity from the dressing. The olives were the most noticeable flavor in the sandwich. As seen in previous reviews this place is DIRTY! I've come here a few times over the years and today was notably the worst. The seating area was dirty, and you can see in the back it was as well. Now this is my first time looking behind the counter and all of the employees make sandwiches with their bare hands ! And we're talking touching the deli meat, produce, everything. Straight from the register/back area right into touching food with no handwashing in between. I told them it was gross what I saw, and she claimed the girl making it was new, so then gloves came on. But of course it was the samething. Now they were touching everything and back to the food but with gloves on. There was another man in the back making a huge order bare hands still. Someone needs to seriously teach them how to properly handle food. Either wash or change your gloves before making food... I didn't think it was that hard. (The design is they get to hide behind that tall counter so clearly no one sees what they're really doing) Not to mention today my sandwich that I always get (the slammer) didn't taste as good, I'm pretty sure the special mustard wasn't added and was missing onions. I was working nearby on a project nearby and needed something quick and easy. I found this place on yelp and was in walking distance for my break. I almost missed it from the directions but it's on the side of peetes coffee facing the little park seating area. I got in right before the rush and saw a few things on the menu that caught my eye. I went with the spicy chicken, chips and a fountain drink that came out to like 15 bones. I didn't catch a name but I was helped by a young Asian gentleman that was really nice, professional and got my order down fast and efficiently. The sandwich was a really good size and the flavor was everything I was hoping it would be. Asiago cheese roll was my choice and the sandwich was flawless outside of the fact it didn't have the most meat in it. I'm sure there's a double meat option for more money but the price and what I received was a great value. This place seems to do well as they should. This place is terrible, with service and health. People are making your food without gloves, putting all the sandwich ingredients into their dirty hands than pulling pants up. I wanted to cancel my order when I saw that, but the lady running the business gave me attitude and told me I had to wait 30 minutes or more until she had the time to cancel my online order. I told her I can't wait that long, so I took the sandwich with me. When I got home I noticed that the sandwich was incorrect plus the bread was moldy as you can see in the photo. I love the sandwiches! My favorite is the Dutch crunch bread. It's got a crispy bites, but super soft on the inside, and it's slightly sweet. It's so delicious that I crave it. I didn't know how the cream cheese was going to be, but it worked out great. I thought it was gonna be super chunky cream cheese but they used whipped cream cheese. There was a lot of meat too! Ordered online, food was ready in about 20 minutes. I ordered at lunch time on a Saturday so they were pretty busy. Highly recommend ordering ahead. I got the chipotle sandwich and subbed falafel for meat, which I got 4 total in my sandwich. The Dutch crunch bread was ok but didn't taste particularly fresh baked. Overall it was a little bland so I'd recommend ordering extra sauce otherwise the bread and large portion of veggies could be tasteless. It's a good portion size for the price and the falafel were tasty. I would also recommend asking for it toasted if you like hot sandwiches. There's a parking lot across the street and this place offers delivery as well as takeout. There are a couple tables outside if you want to eat there. read more

Unfortunately while I love this place - LOVE their sandwiches - I find it a bit inconsistent from what I would get from Mountain View. Also I've ordered ahead twice and twice had to wait a long time before my sandwiches were done. The first time I thought things happen, no big deal but the second time I realized they didn't even start making it till I got there. What's a pain is I was told it would be ready in 20 mins so I got there in 20 mins. I don't mind if it's later - just let me know!! So I've had these sandwiches at the Mountain View location but Sunnyvale is actually closer so I was thrilled when they opened in this location - the problem is the first time I got the Beach Boy from Sunnyvale - there was hardly any meat... then the 2nd time we ordered the Melt (which I've ordered from Mountain View in the past) and there was too much of the sun dried tomato spread and Prosciutto - and wasn't hot at all. May have to just drive a little further and get my sandwiches from the Mountain View location as they seem more consistent and sandwiches are ready quick... Dirty, dirty and dirty. No mask, no gloves! The place used to be run by some beautiful lady and her partner. Now it's run by some ppl who have no attention to hygiene. They use the same hand that help you on the cash machine on the register, and with the same hands they make sandwiches with no gloves. Superrrrrr dirty. You cannot imagine the scene I saw. Behind the register there's a room and a sink. A lady came out of that room with a big lettuce in her hands. The lettuce was packed with dirt and soil, she just stretched out the sink hose did a 1 second rinse on top, she turned it did another less than a sec rinse, and she brought it back in the room and started chopping it, with allllllll the huge piles of dirt on it.
