Hobee's is for comfort brunch food, delicious orange cinnamon tea and even more comforting coffeecakes. The Sunnyvale location is now being hosted by the previous Los Altos manager and along with her staff, you get friendly, attentive and fast brunch. There's always a spot open for a hungry belly and the parking lot has more space with the tent gone (put in place during covid and winters). Over the years, the sides on the eggs have shrunk but you still get a decent sized meal for the buck. I've been coming to Hobee's for many years now, and it has always been a reliable place for a good breakfast. It's one of those spots you can count on. The food is consistently good, portions are more than fair, and the coffee cake has been a favorite for as long as I can remember. The staff has always been kind and hardworking, even when the restaurant is busy, which it often is. It has a comfortable, familiar feeling, nothing fancy, just good food and a pleasant place to sit and visit. I'm giving four stars instead of five only because it can get quite crowded, especially on weekends, and the noise level can be a bit much these days. I woke up with a craving for pesto, artichoke hearts, and coffee cake. So I decided I had to have Hobee's! My boyfriend got the seasonal scramble: sleigh ride. It was actually very delicious. I'm kind of kicking myself for not trying the Holiday Hash Bennie Bowl. Honestly, I swear I used to get something like a Santa Cruz bowl that had artichoke hearts and pesto, so I ended up adding artichoke hearts to my Sonoma bowl. Of course, it's not a trip to Hobee's without their coffee cake, and I had to try the candied bacon. Initially the candied bacon came out pretty underdone for my liking, but after throwing it back on the grill it was much more enjoyable. And I ended up drinking a Mexican Mocha because...why not? I came here with my brothers on a Saturday morning and it was busy! Luckily we just had to wait 10 minutes for our table. The ambiance felt very homey and the service was relatively quick. The food was pretty good and well priced for the portion sizes. I had to try the coffee cake since they're known for that and it did not disappoint! It came out warm and the textures/flavors definitely made it one of the better coffee cakes I've had! I also got the pancake combo and added some breakfast potatoes, which was pretty good as well. We haven't been to a Hobee's in years, mainly because the local one in the Pruneyard closed. It was one of our favorite places for breakfast. We were out and about and decided to go to one Sunnyvale location. It' a small place, surrounded by several hotels. It is a bit dated but clean. There is not much parking in the front. Not sure if there is parking on the side or the back. Breakfast was great! All of our favorites were still on the menu. My husband has the hash and I had the Greek style omelette. Had to get the blueberry coffee cake and the red, white and blue smoothie. We also had the tea. Everything tasted great and definitely missed the coffee cake. read more

This place has really gone downhill since we last visited. The big outdoor seating area is completely gone. The food came out quickly but was almost entirely disappointing: the coffee cake is only thing that seems unchanged. The salmon hash used to be our favorite but it almost seemed like they cooked the salmon a long time in advance and threw in some unseasoned potato halves. We asked for the house tea on ice, but either they gave us regular ice tea or their house blend has become equally disappointing. I guess we'll have to try another location next time and hope for the original Hobee's experience. read more

Came over the weekend for a quick breakfast and was seated right away! Ordered one of their specials - a twist on their sweet potato hash and eggs, but this one had chorizo, a chipotle sauce, and I added avocado. I wish that they would add this to the regular menu! I recently visited Hobee's and left disappointed overall. To start on a positive note, the manager was welcoming when I walked in, which I appreciated. That said, the pricing felt out of line..even by Bay Area standards. For what you pay, I expected standout quality, but the food itself was honestly pretty blah: nothing memorable and not worth the cost compared to other places in the same price range. Service was mixed. My waiter was friendly, but he tried to take my order before I'd had a chance to really look at the menu, which made the experience feel rushed. He also spent an extended period speaking loudly toward the kitchen area, which felt unprofessional and distracting while I was trying to enjoy my meal (the kitchen staff themselves were quiet). Overall, between the high prices, underwhelming food, and the service experience, it didn't meet expectations. Love love their dot.com omelette. I would go there just for this dish. Even my Taiwanese parents, who don't go to American diners, gave their approval to the dot.com omelette. Ingredients are fresh and the sun-dried tomato pesto on top is chef's kiss. I've been here twice, once on a weekday morning and another late Saturday morning. Both times we didn't have problem getting a table in the morning. It did get busy by the time we left. This location's interior is a bit dated. But it reminds me of the older diners in Stockton-Lodi area, the homey feel. Price-wise, it's definitely more expensive than Stockton area and the portion is a third less than Lumberjack's (everywhere is less than Lumberjack's, lol). Went there on Monday, July 14th. My daughter was in town from Seattle and we hadn't been to a Hobee's in years. It used to be our favorite breakfast place. Our Breakfast Bowls (new) were tasty. The vibe is not the same, and we were the only people on them restaurant at 10:45 AM. They no longer have the coffee cake on display, and the bathroom was filthy. I opted to get the bravo breakfast burrito that had eggs bacon cheese and potatoes that was served with avocado on top and an orange sauce that was a nice addition to the burrito. i'm happy the food came with a sauce because it was rather bland but I am never huge on breakfast burritos as they are. the real stars are the sauce. but i was not disappointed my food came with a side, and i chose the world famous blueberry coffee cake and it did not disappoint at all.
