This is the owner's response to my 1 star review regarding the quality of the food and her rude attitude towards us.
    Marcy R.

We had a negative experience at Sara's Kitchen this morning. Problem #1. My partner ordered an entree and asked for a side of corn. The server brought his dish with a side of mixed vegetables instead. My partner informed the server that his side was incorrect. The server told my partner that they didn't have any corn and simply decided to substitute his side for corn without informing my partner of the absence and discussing substitute options. Problem #2. The pancakes that another member of our party arrived to the table cold. The pancakes were inedible. Problem #3. Staff forgot to bring a side of toast for another member of our party who is of older age. The server was notified and brought out cold slices of toast that my grandmother could not eat due to the toast being hard from being out for so long. Problem #4. I ordered a side of corned beef hash that was completely forgot until the female owner was told about the situation. The owner apologized and quickly brings out a double portion of the beef hash supposedly. I take a bite and it is completely cold without any flavor at all! My partner tends to eat low sodium/salt free foods and even for himself it was bad. The potatoes in the hash were cold and a bit raw in the center. Problem #5. The attitude of the business owner was completely rude to us without any given reason. We spoke to her in a calm demeanor. I informed her of what went wrong with the toast, pancakes, and my beef corner hash. She asked us in a rude tone what she wanted us to do about it. She asked if she should remake the food or what. I politely told her no since we have to go to a church. The owner mocks me by saying God Bless before walking away. She comes back to the table to tell us that the only dish she will comp is the corned beef hash since it was a side. She refused to comp the meal that included the pancakes and toast due to these two items being 'free' since they are part of the meal. Problem #6. My family member asked the busboy for to go boxes. When asked how many, she told the busboy staff 3 boxes to which the female owner overheard. She immediately grabs the plate of cold pancakes that my family member considered taking back home and said that, "This is to give to the animals," before walking away. Everyone in our party had problems with our meals. We felt disrespected by the business owner and cheated. After coming to this restaurant for over a decade, we have decided to say never again! We don't appreciate being spoken to rudely and how the restaurant owner handled our issues. --------- This is in response to the owner's message that was a left as a compliment to me that states, "If you didn't like the food why ask for box to take home ." I clearly never said that we did not like the pancakes that you rudely took away from our table without asking us at all. The pancakes arrived cold to the point that butter could not melt over them. Which means that the pancakes were sitting out ready to get picked up for who knows how long before the pancakes cooled down. Yet, you still had the audacity to charge us full price for the meal with the pancakes - yet not give us the opportunity to take home something that we paid for. Who does this? Well, besides you of course.

Definitely a family established restaurant, the usuals go to this place & you can feel the love as soon as you walk in, get seated & placing your order. Everyone that works here, is super friendly. Located in the corner of a semi-busy street, depending on what time you go, but they have plenty of parking, again depending on how busy they get. There's plenty to choose from on the menu, whatever it is your craving, this place will have what you are looking for. If your in the area & unsure of what your looking for, why not stop in & enjoy a dish or two?

Been coming here since 2001 and starting my 25th year. Another great breakfast. Custom scramble with ham and cheddar along with a side of hash browns.

We have been coming here since college. It's always a solid breakfast option. There are so many tasty options for breakfast we always struggle to decide. Today we tried the Philly Cheesesteak for the first time, since the menu says they are famous for them. It was yummy but honestly the filling to bread ratio was a bit sad and it was nothing remarkable so we probably won't get it again. We also got the country fried steak and eggs, which were yummy but again, have had better elsewhere. The pancake that came with it was delicious, light and fluffy inside with the perfect flavorful browning on the outside. Sara's is really good at scrambles and omelettes so we will be sticking to those in the future. The service as always is great and was very pleased to get coffee while we waited for a table. Love the nostalgia of the little cafe diner atmosphere and the lovely nature of the owner.

Breakfast at a nice cozy diner was a very good experience for Saturday morning. I enjoyed the non-stop coffee and Denver omelette with hash brown and a pancake. The waitperson was kind and helpful. We stayed long after we finished eating but never felt rushed (we made sure no one was waiting). Will eat here again when in the area!

I'll give the food 4 stars and service 2.5. We went for brunch. Although the restaraunt was…read morerelatively empty, we had to wait for almost an hour. Once seated, it took the waitress a good 10 minutes to come over to our table. When she finallty did, she was going to leave without asking if we wanted to order drinks, we had to call her back. The food took a while also. Not once did she come back to check on us to see if we wanted another drink while we were waiting. She was nice enough, and maybe this is her first wait job, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. However, we noticed quite a few of the staff were just standing around. Hats off to the person who does their Instagram - they make the place look huge, but it's not. Everyone at the table said their dish was very tasty. You HAVE to try the ftench toast a try. It was absolutely delicious.

Had Keep Calm and Crab On, Stuffed French Toast, Chicken & Waffles, Pipikaula Ribs and Flatbread…read morefor appetizer. This is more than just eating; it's a dining experience. Keep Calm and Crab On is their version of Crab Benedict. Everything about this Benedict is special and unique. Instead of the traditional lemony hollandaise sauce, it had a brown butter hollandaise. The brown butter's nutty and slight sweetness complemented the crab flavor that you can still taste the crab instead of getting overpowered by the sauce. They use loose real crab meat; not the crab patty type so no fillers. Really good amount of minced crab meat that it's nicely proportioned with the biscuit. Instead of English muffin, they use a big scallion biscuit. The biscuit was toasty on the bottom and the rest was moist with little pockets of honey. The poached egg's yolk was a bit more cooked than the traditional jelly or runny yolk but it did not make this dish any less yummy. Crispy hashbrown on disk shaped. Every part was great. 5/5 stars. The best Crab Benedict I've had and I've had quite a few. The waffle in the Chicken and Waffle was very crispy but at the same time almost flaky. It was not the dense fluffy type but it was easy to eat. It's like a cross between a croissant and waffle. The syrup was lighter than the thick pancake syrup. The waffle is 5/5 stars. The Chicken part of this dish is basically like a Taiwanese popcorn chicken that you can get from a boba place. Bite sized dark meat chicken battered and fried. Served with Sriracha mayo type sauce and syrup. 3/4 stars. The Stuffed French Toast tasted like lemon meringue pie. Sweet lemony filling. The French Toast itself was fluffy but at the same time nicely soaked in custard. Slight cinnamon flavor. It came with a thick slice of bacon which is more like a slice of grilled pork belly that was buttery and umami. 4/5 stars. The Pipikaula Ribs plate had 3 slices of bone in short ribs, kimchee fried rice and two over medium eggs. The short ribs were grilled and looked like the sweet Korean BBQ short ribs but it's more savory with peppery flavor rather than sweet. Tender meat. The genorously portioned Kimchee rice was mostly spicy. 3.5/5 stars because the Kimchee was too spicy to fully enjoy the dish. The Flatbread appetizer had a good amount of mozzarella cheese melted on top soft fluffy flatbread with salty prosciutto slice in between. Topped with perfectly poached egg. Wish they offer fountain soda vs bottled ones. Each dish was eye so pleasing that couldn't wait to dig into it as soon as they landed on the table. Staff, Anna Lisa, was very pleasant and just made us felt comfortable; which was important because it's our first time dining here. Nice comfortable dining room with high ceiling and big windows. Great food with quality ingredients and thoughtfully put together menu, welcoming staff, relaxed ambiance. Will definitely return.

Wow! Everything was so good here and the service was amazing too. The owner took the time to…read moreexplain to us the inspiration behind the dishes and that really made the restaurant super inviting. We started with the crab crostini and the Brussels sprouts. The crab was very fresh and each crostini had a large portion of crab on top. The Brussels sprouts were very crispy and very umami with the cheese and bacon combination mixed in. The empanada was honestly a showstopper. I don't know how to describe it other than you have to try it. Both pastas were good but I prefer the mushroom one over the short rib ragu. The halibut was also good, and the basil sauce made it even better. I was already super impressed with everything but I think the stars were the 2 desserts. The Dubai cheesecake was an Italian style cheesecake, so it was a lot lighter than I was expecting (which was welcomed) and captured the essence of Dubai chocolate without being too overwhelming. The Lira in Wonderland was also SO good. It had a crown of cotton candy and was a mix of biscoff cookies, dehydrated red velvet cake (don't knock it till you try it), butterscotch sauce, and strawberries. I was honestly blown away by this meal.

This was supposed to be a special birthday dinner date that my husband meticulously planned for me,…read morebut it turned into the most horrendous dining experience I've ever had. We dined at Lira on November 14th. The Service (or Lack Thereof): The Menu Shortage: We arrived for our 6:45 PM reservation only to be told by the manager that they didn't have enough menus. We were told they'd bring them "later." Ignored for 35+ Minutes: We sat with nothing but water for over half an hour. To make matters worse, a table of six was seated after us and received their full entrees while we were completely ignored. The Drink Mess: After 40 minutes, the server told me they were out of ingredients for my drink. When I picked a second option, she tried to insist I wanted a drink with celery (my most despised vegetable). We thankfully stopped her before it was made, but the incompetence was staggering. The Food Fiasco: An hour into our reservation, someone dropped off a scallop dish. A while later, a server asked if I'd "received the scallops yet," and I realized the plate I was eating wasn't even intended for our table. We were so starving that my husband and I just shared them. Once we finished, the server finally asked my husband if he "still wanted his meal or if he wanted to cancel it." I finally lost my cool - of course he still wanted his dinner! The Aftermath: My husband didn't realize that my friends had actually made a separate reservation to take me back to this same spot the following night for a second birthday celebration. After this performance, there was no way I was going to step foot in this building again or give them another cent of our money. I texted my friends from the table to cancel those reservations and book elsewhere. With service this disorganized and insulting, this restaurant won't be in business long. Super disappointing. Don't waste your special occasions here. *Edit - it looks like Lira has closed. With the service we experienced, I am not surprised in the slightest. I am hopeful that whichever future business occupies this space is more successful.
