Great food! Nice selection. I was helped by Sydney who was very attentive AND offered several suggestions! Since I'm visiting from SoCal it was great having a nice and pleasant person assisting the out of town rube. The Cranberry Turkey and side salad hit the spot!! Thank you.

The sandwiches themselves are great. Good quality ingredients, balanced flavors. Sizing is sometimes inconsistent though. This review mostly hates on their online ordering (https://order.online/store/sourdough-&-co.-mountain-view-31522139). In order to get lettuce on your sandwich, you must go through the hell of: - click Lettuce - be redirected to another page - click Regular - click Save - be redirected to the sandwich's page, and you're now on top of the page - scroll all the way down to the Toppings section again And you repeat this process for tomato, onions, etc. If you don't (like the confused and annoyed me today), you get a plain, sad sandwich with just bread and meat. I'm not ordering again from here until they fix their online ordering lol.

    4" French Dip Sandwich Meal
    Diane W.

Had a wonderful lunch here on Monday with a friend. They are located in the Safeway shopping center next to Wells Fargo bank. This was our first time here and there were a lot of sandwich options to choose from. It took us a few minutes to make a decision. We both decided on the French dip sandwich meal which included a bag of chips and a drink. We found a spot to sit. There are plenty of tables to choose from. All the tables were clean and tidy. They brought our sandwiches to us, which was very nice. The French dip was excellent. The sourdough bread was fresh and warm and they gave a hefty amount of roast beef and it also had Swiss cheese on it. There was also au jus on the side to dip the sandwich in. It came with a dill pickle spear on the side. Everything was delicious. The staff were super friendly and checked on us to make sure we were happy with our food. Overall, an excellent experience. I highly recommend coming here for a delicious and freshly made sandwich. I look forward to coming back and trying out some of their other sandwiches.

French dip. 6" piled high with steaming ai jus

Tucked into a little corner of this strip mall, in the location of the old Starbucks, it's easy to miss. But after my first visit, this will be a destination. As always, I ordered the French Dip with au jus. It only comes in a 6". It's not that long but it's stacked high with juicy roast beef. The mustard sauce makes the difference! And the au jus comes in a tub steaming hot and flavorful. The service is fast, and the crew is very friendly. They have all the soft drinks, tea, and lemonade of the chain. The store itself is long and narrow but clean and new. Try it, it lives up to the hype!

I love Sourdough & Co however the amount of meat in the sandwiches Is little to none. This time I even asked for extra meat. Honestly don't know if I was charged for it since I didn't get a receipt. Good sandwich but, where's the meat?!

Service was clean, nice and simple just the way I like it nothing out of the ordinary. One nice lady was working behind the counter and nicely accommodated me and my bro. I ordered the ham and turkey sandwich and oh boy did I mess with it. Just how sandwich should be, the ingredients felt fresh and the falvors where there. Will definitely be back. mWah*. :)

We came here for lunch on the strong recommendation from locals in the area and were not disappointed in the least. The pizza here is baked in a wood fired oven and has just enough char to bring out the flavors of the relatively thin crust and toppings. I enjoyed the "Fun Guy" Mushroom pizza (4.5/5), while my friend had one with meaty toppings that included the requisite pepperoni and sausage - That one was really good too. The selections at the next table to us looked yummy as well. They have both indoor and outdoor seating here, and though the weather was extremely warm on the day of our visit, it was still nice to soak in the heat a little outside under the giant parasols.. So a few days after returning from an overseas trip, I made a lunch reservation with a friend. Apparently, reservations are required if you want a proper meal experience. At $35 per person for lunch, including tip but excluding drinks and additions, it still seemed like good value. Finding parking during lunch time in downtown Los Altos was surprisingly difficult. There were no spots available on the Main Street, so I had to park in the lot behind the buildings. As I walked inside, I admired the high ceilings, curved alcoves and glass-enclosed dining room by the entrance. The entire space seemed to be illuminated by a central skylight. Aaron is a co-owner of Tal Palo along with his partner, Chef Adriana. He greeted and complimented me on my Mikkeller Taipei t-shirt. Aaron told us he was once the co-owner of an Oakland bar specializing in Belgian ale called The Trappist and subsequently knew Mikkel's brother, Jeppe, who founded Evil Twin Brewery quite well. It was cool to meet a fellow artist and Renaissance man. Fittingly, the beautiful space was largely designed by Aaron. We had our choice of seating. It didn't seem as if there were any two tables and chairs that were alike. Each part of the dining room was unique. There's a really nice patio in the back with a cool huge mural on the wall that is undoubtedly popular during warmer months. We chose a nice broad two top table near the entrance, lit brightly by the skylight above it. Chef Adriana introduced herself and brought by what was essentially an elote muffin, and offered it as an optional appetizer. We took her up on it. It was delicious and buttery with the texture of corn kernels, not simply pureed into a batter. I also ordered a Cafe de Olla, which was pleasantly sweet and blended with cinnamon and spices. She then brought a plate with skillfully prepared green salad. It was then clear that each dish was meant to be shared family-style. The portion-size of each dish is about the size of an individual portion, but there were three dishes included in the lunch course. I could see how this might be an issue for those who eat larger portions, leaving them unsatisfied. Me and my friend don't generally eat a ton, so this was perfectly fine for us. Next up was the highlight of the meal, Chilaquiles Verde. The egg was perfectly fried atop tortilla chips that still had a bit of crispness to them. The tomatillo salsa was a perfect balance of flavor, tanginess, spice and temperature. It was a superb dish that outpaces any chilaquiles that I've been able to find locally, and I've certainly been trying out many for the past six months in search of the best one. I think Chef Adriana's version at Tal Palo may be the winner. There was one more interesting dish remaining: fried quesadillas served with a creamy red beet mole sauce. The quesadillas were light and fluffy, made from masa rather than flour. The beet mole sauce had pine nuts and sesame seeds and several other ingredients blended into it. Very unique and creative rendition unlike any mole I had ever tried. The overall experience at Tal Palo was very unique. There is no set menu, and you are served whatever Chef Adriana has prepared that day. So one needs to approach this restaurant with an open mind and leave preconceptions at the door. As I mentioned earlier, the shared portions might not be enough for people with a higher caloric intake. If these are showstoppers, this is probably not the right place for you. I personally really enjoyed the concept and experience. I look forward to trying their dinner course and going to their workshops for things like making tamales.

Tristan recommended one from the snacks and one from the plates to accompany a bigger plate. It was more than enough food for two! The crispy quinoa tuna poke salad was my favorite thing of the night. I loved all the flavors, and the fresh herbs really rounded out the dish. The tuna was super fresh and the quinoa added a nice texture. The disco fries were super unique and had sweet and salty elements, but it wasn't my favorite dish of the night. The sticky pork shank was super tender and I loved the salads on the side it came with. The sauces were tasty too and complemented the pork well. The cucumbers were just the right amount of crunch, though the tomatoes were a little overripe for me. My husband enjoyed it all though. The portions were perfect for splitting between the 2 of us. I paired this with the fresh brewed iced tea and it was perfect. This isn't a ritzy place, it's a nice drop in for casual food and chat.
