Fried pickles and slider with chicken tender meal

This was the first time I've ever been to this particular fried chicken place. They actually have really big portions considering their slider is a full chicken sandwich with two chunks of chicken strips. I forgot which meal number that was called but you also got a side of fries and white bread underneath! I also had to try the deep-fried pickles which were so crispy and delicious!! My friends and I went around 11:30 on a Friday night and there were only a couple tables open/available for us to sit in. The bathrooms were closed off, but I think that was because they were closing soon and there was a Employee cleaning them out and mopping. He did allow me to go inside and wash my hands before we ate though. My friend told me he's been to the Dave's chicken spot in San Jose and they had a different mural so I took a picture of the mural here to make a comparison when I go to the other San Jose location. Overall, I really liked the portion size and you get a good bang for your butt and the deep-fried pickles were delicious!! So I will definitely be back!!

Tried Dave's for the 1st time. It was good and I can see how other's can really enjoy it with the levels of spice you can choose from

Great chicken sandwich! I got the hot tender and the medium sliders. It was so good! If you get above medium make sure you can handle your spice because it's very spicy!! I really enjoy eating at Dave's! For the price and the amount you get, it's a deal!!

Dave's #4: 1 Slider with Fries

As a non chicken lover this place has reformed me. I gave their food a try after years driving by this place. The day I tried it I could not stop thinking about Dave's HOT chicken for three consecutive days! Believe me I would do anything to avoid chicken protein but Dave's has broke through to me and set me free. It never fails to make me happy. Their chicken is amazing and it pairs so well with my new love : Pickles!

A Large Top Loaded Fries. Definitely a delicious treat!

Dave's Hot Chicken is definitely funky... but not in the weird and smelly way... more in the groovy vibes kind of way. Stopped by with some coworkers recently, to celebrate one of their birthday's and I was pleasantly impressed with this spot. I really dig the street art decor and the exceptionally helpful staff behind the counter. As a hot chicken first timer, I didn't know what to expect, but this place is quick, serves piping hot food, and provides excellent service. There's not much else to need or want from a first time experience than that! The chicken here is flavored with a dry rub mix and is excellently paired with kale slaw and pickles which not only elevate the meal but perfectly compliments the flavor combinations. Don't forget to ask for extra Dave's Sauce. (It's !) And in the event you sign the waiver (yes, you have to sign it) for the reaper level of spice... be sure you wash it down with something cool like a Dave's top loaded milkshake or a refreshing slush! Will definitely be back.

Why did the chicken join the band? Because it had the drumsticks! My first visit to Dave's was fantastic, I loved it! Everything was excellent, and I have no complaints. Although I'm not usually a big fan of pickles, I especially enjoyed the satisfying crunch of Dave's pickles. I'll definitely be back.

CHOSE 10% tip on machine, but got charged 20% tip. If you aren't careful or good at math, you'd have missed it.
Mimi L.

They cheated us on the tip amount. My husband chose 10% tip on the pay machine; however, the receipt showed 20% tip being chosen and paid. Not sure if something's wrong with their cash registry system. We let it go. That being said, I am not happy being swindled without consent and considered such an act dishonesty. I don't support unethical business. They should refund us the entire gratuity money because stealing is uncool! Since when does a fast food chain with zero service charge 20% tip in the sneaky way? Short-sighted and stupid, for $4, they've lost us as customers. Buyers beware and check your receipts!

Dave's #2: 2 Sliders w/ Fries

Chicken was bomb! Love the crisp, juicy chicken and tenderness! Staff were super nice and welcoming! Tables were a little dirty, but mostly because the people before us didn't clean after themselves. I didn't love the bread, felt too soft for the crunchiness of the chicken! But that is more of a personal preference. The vibe of the place was fun and inviting! Loved the artwork on the walls

Single Slider and kale slaw
David P.

I had the urge to check it out given all the hype and my deep appreciation for a good hot chicken. Given that I'm watching my calories these days, I was concerned that a single slider might not be enough given that the major combo is two sliders and fries. I was happily mistaken. One slider is a satisfyingly decent size portion. Crispy, crunchy, juicy and flavorful. That with a nice kale slaw really hit the spot. I'm a fan.

My first time here today b it won't be my last. Got the two piece chicken tenders no sauce. It came with fries, toast, pickles, and thousand islands dressing Very very yummy.I ordered to dine in Employee's were very friendly Also ordered a diet Coke

I really like Dave's hot chicken in general and have been to a few locations in a few places and had to come 5* this because the staff is just so great. Very warm and kind and genuinely want you to enjoy your experience. I've been here a few times and the location is always very well maintained and clean I've been served by Maria and the manager Eduardo before and both are wonderful and helpful. This location should be a template for the chain locations and I hope the company's leadership or management or whatever know this location elevates the standards for the chain.

Ask the Community - Dave's Hot Chicken

Is this place halal / zabihah? I don't see the halal certification shown in their website

Yes, Dave's Hot Chicken is halal.

What is their takeout container made of? Is it styrofoam or something different, like an eco alternative?

When I got it a few weeks ago, they put the food in one of those black styrofoam clamshell type of containers.

My favorites include the shawarma lamb wrap damascus style, falafel tacos, the original chicken shawarma wrap, and of course the pickles and toum. I also really enjoyed the Fatteh. You can't really go wrong with anything here, it's just about what your personal favorites are. The owners are so kind and friendly, always chatting with everyone in the restaurant, they create a very warm and welcoming environment, and you can tell they really care about what they do.

To our…read moresurprise, the fries wrap was the better of the two, as the garlic aioli and whatever other flavors were added made it tasty. It definitely could have used the coleslaw and pickles promised by the menu but they weren't in evidence. That was the problem with the falafel wrap, too: the menu promised hummus, cabbage & tomatoes salad, and pickled turnips, but those ingredients weren't anywhere to be seen. There was some lettuce instead, but lettuce is a poor substitute as it just becomes immediately soggy and adds no flavor. If you've ever had falafel in Israel, you will be disappointed by the falafel here, unfortunately. (Israeli falafel shops each make at least a dozen toppings from family recipes, so you put as many veggies and sauces in as you can to create a flavor party in your mouth.)

I've also tried their indoor seating where you can order the food off the menu. I love the appetizers, the main dishes and I always finish my dinner with cold baklava and a Turkish coffee. I love the interior design, with the images of popular Turkish places like Istanbul and others, you feel like you are in Turkey. The staff is the kindest there is in the service industry. My boyfriend and I ended up here after attempting to go to Treehouse nearby (which had an hour wait--unsurprising given the concept). This restaurant was a short walk away, which actually worked out well given how congested the area was, and we walked in optimistic. The space itself is very large, but nearly empty for a weekday evening. It felt family-owned and casual, which I usually love--many of my favorite restaurants fall into that category. Unfortunately, the experience didn't reflect that warmth. We were given a different menu than other diners, which immediately felt odd. Service wasn't overtly rude, but it was noticeably unwelcoming--almost a "why are you here?" tone rather than hospitality. We ordered hummus and feta, both of which were surprisingly expensive for the portion and quality. We were told bread would arrive automatically with the hummus, but it didn't--despite asking multiple times. When it finally arrived, it was poorly cooked and no longer served any purpose, as we were already well into the meal. Despite the restaurant being far from busy, our mains took about 30 minutes. One dish--a kebab--was fine but very forgettable for a $30+ price point. My dish, dumplings in a yogurt-based sauce, was honestly inedible. I left it untouched and mentioned that it didn't taste good. The response was simply, "Oh, so you don't want a box?" No attempt to fix the issue or even acknowledge it. What sealed it for me was the overall condition of the place. Dirty cutlery, a generally rundown interior, and a lack of attention to cleanliness made it uncomfortable to eat there. I'm not picky about ambiance when the food and service deliver--but here, nothing quite worked together. The whole experience felt very turn-and-burn, as if the restaurant relies on proximity to a popular area rather than repeat customers. I left feeling like unless you're part of a specific in-crowd, this isn't a place that's trying very hard to win you over. Personally, I wouldn't return, and I wouldn't recommend it--especially given the pricing and the many better options nearby.

Nahita Bakery operates a humble storefront with large glass display cases showing off their delicious baked goods, fried pastries, and stewed meats and vegetables. As a first timer, it was a feast for hungry eyes! We came in on a weekday afternoon and were hankering for a snack before dinner. The staff welcomed us in and gave us a quick introduction to their offerings. My mouth was already salivating at the sight of the golden brown pastries and at the mention of olives and cheese, I was committed! We ended up getting a coupe of their items including achmas (pastry made with sweetened dough) and pogaca (pastry made with buttery dough) - one filled with olives and one with the feta cheese. We also got a borek (pastry made with phyllo dough) with ground beef and asked to be cut up so it can be shareable. The olive achma was fragrant and soft when torn into. The olives were flavorful and distributed well within the bun. The feta cheese pogaca was flavorful and was layered into bun. I think it would have tasted even better warmed but it was delicious nonetheless. The distribution of the cheese could have been better to better fill my mouth with those flavors. The borek was a star but too heavy for one person to eat. The fried dough was crispy and paired with the ground beef made for a hearty snack to go with something warm to drink. The other pastries and entrees looked good and although we didn't have the stomach space for it this time, we know we will be back when we are in the area to try something new. Perhaps we will get to try their coffee next time! Overall, Nahita Bakery does an amazing job bringing their Turkish culture through food to the South Bay. Their quality of work is shown in the food's presentation, ingredients, and flavors and the clean open dining space elevates the dining experience here whether you're in for breakfast, lunch, a snack, or dinner. Their large parking lot shared by other small businesses is fantastic for those looking to get in and out on some errands. If you haven't had a chance to try some Turkish pastries, you are in for a treat at Nahita Bakery!
