Stopped by O'Flaherty's Irish Pub to check out the St. Patricks weekend on Sunday, walked in, and there were a few patrons already enjoying some nice green beer, we had a seat at the bar and looked over the menu. I had a Hennessy Mule while my partner had a beer. I also looked at the food menu and decided to grab some wings and fries to soak up the alcohol. The beverages came out quickly as expected, and the food came out shortly after, with great service. The drinks were great, but what killed it was the Cajun-style dipping sauce for the wings. Love downtown and have always had a good time here, but today the bartender the bald guy with the beard was extremely rude from the moment we arrived. He seemed annoyed the entire time and even complained when we wanted to order another beer. Every time have come to this karaoke bar I've always been greeted by security and bartender seem to really like their job. From what I've seen, all the bartenders also sing so I'm glad they all have musical talents as well! Service is fast and quick, and I like the assortment of different beers on top. Especially like the cider beers they offer since those aren't as popular in other breweries. The DJ for the karaoke night, Anthony is great, he is very personable easy to help out with songs and has a great singing voice as well! I love how it feels like an Irish pub and that it's easy to grab a seat even when it's still busy. It was date night and we decided to visit the different lounges and establishments that were in the San Pedro neighborhood. Stopped in a few to get some drinks. O'Flaherty's Irish Pub was packed and everyone seemed to be enjoying the ambiance and their drinks. The music was loud and the bar was crowded. I had a disappointing experience here. After being served, the waitress actually came back to our table to complain that we hadn't tipped on our bill of some drinks after giving the bare minimum of service., Ive worked food service for several years and i would personally never do that to a guest its pretty embarrassing to practically beg for a tip. incredibly unprofessional and made the entire interaction uncomfortable. What's even more frustrating is that we did leave a cash tip and not only was the accusation misplaced, but it also highlights how messy and awkward tipping culture has become. Customers shouldn't be guilted or confronted in this way, especially when gratuity is supposed to be voluntary. This kind of behavior takes away from the atmosphere of enjoying a night out. Management really needs to address staff professionalism and rethink how tips are handled, because no one should be made to feel called out after paying their bill. read more

Ah, such a delight! One of my favorite places near San Pedro square to have a pint and do some people watching. Live music is available some nights and quiz night is always fun. They fit a lot of seats in their modest patio and the self serve water means you don't need to flag staff down as often. My friends and I stopped in due to needing a spot away from the world famous sjbg (they were too busy for us to join line) Our experience started very smooth, we all got ids checked and went to buy drinks. After drinks we settled outside where no other patrons resided. We felt safe in this space to enjoy eachothers company, so much so that we maybe got too loud for security's liking. This would have been understandable due to apartments above the establishment, however the way in which the message was delivered by one specific security guard was very unappreciated. It was rude, uninformative, egotistical, and flat out just seemed like they enjoyed enforcing rules to us more than keeping a welcoming atmosphere. Way too much for what ended up being a warning. Personally, I liked the spot, the drinks, the prices, and the service from bartenders. However, I will not be back for a long time due to my experience with that security worker. The other security person was super chill and even cracked jokes with us after, so its sad to have had it ruined by one sour apple. read more

There were a ton of us at this location and everything seemed to run smoothly. Our server definitely had to hustle, but she kept up with our drinks and food orders, she really was great. Closes 35 minutes early. Bouncer is extremely rude and will talk down to you. I was denied entry because they "were no longer accepting admissions." When I returned with my ID in hand and asked if I could just use the restroom he claimed "if you weren't so aggressive I would have let you in." I am a 5 foot tall female. He is a close to 6 foot husky male. This was beyond unprofessional especially because we were all business professionals there for a tech conference. I went to O'Flaherty's with six of my closest friends to have a drink on Saturday evening. O'Flahtery's was packed so I was so happy that I could get seated with my party. I unfortunately had a very disappointing experience at O'Flaherty's. After being helped by the female server and payed the bill, the female server came over to my table a few minutes after and complained that she didn't receive a tip from our table. The server ignored us for most of our time at the restaurant and provided bare minimum service. If I am with a large group of people, I usually like to tip in cash so the servers get the majority of the tip. Our party was going to tip the server for the drinks that she served. I find it very unprofessional and very rude for a server to come up to a table and mention to them that they didn't tip. A server should not be hostile to restaurant guests and confront them about not tipping when they plan on tipping. A person from our table went over to give the server a tip and she looked disgusted and ungrateful. I will definitely think twice about going to O'Flaherty's if the service doesn't change. This experience ruined a perfect night out with friends. Servers can have good days and bad days, but should not confront guests. The restaurant management needs to address the staff's professionalism. This whole experience makes me not want to go to O'Flaherty's due to the poor customer service and lack of professionalism. read more

I only gave it one star, the DJ that was mixing on Saturday was rude. I came up to him with one song, then he dint play I didn't care. Yesterday I was physically removed from this bar simply for trying to use the men's restroom instead of waiting in a long line for the women's (something every single bar has no issue with). I wish I was joking. They had a bouncer at the bathroom that kicked me out for this. The security staff couldn't justify their actions--just kept saying, "It's better if you leave." When my boyfriend and his cousin asked why I was being manhandled, they were met with aggression instead of answers. The result? My boyfriend left with a bruised chin, and his cousin had a split lip. This level of aggression over something as trivial as a restroom choice is unacceptable. If this is how they handle minor situations, I can only imagine how they treat actual conflicts.
