    $13 fish and chips

I came out for a Saturday of live music and was super pleased to find a late night happy hour AND some of the best bartenders and staff I've encountered in the longest. Staff was super responsive when I mentioned a concern about a patron, but they were all so playful with one another, it was fun to watch. I couldn't decide what I wanted to drink, and the bartender offered a great idea: he'd bring mystery shots to the table, and only charge for one. The shooter? DELICIOUS! It was a white tea shooter, and the first time I'd ever tried it. The food, was...BAR FOOD. Not super tasty (which is wild, because I have had some very yummy fish and chips here). But honestly, at the happy hour price, who can complain? I definitely enjoy a night here again. There was a chill diversity in the patrons, so I'd happily spend a fuzzy night here making new friends.

Cornish Pasty, originally the shape of a crescent.

Britannia Arms is one of the few British pubs left in the area. The atmosphere is dark and the sports-watching crowd gets a bit loud, at least on the day we went. So, not a place for a quiet meal! I ordered the Cornish Pasty with veggies and shoestring fries. My husband ordered the Fish, Prawns, & chips (also shoestring fries), and he enjoyed his meal. We shared a dinner salad; it was pretty good and huge. I was served a chicken pot pie by mistake, but they brought me the pasty afterwards. It turns out I liked the chicken pot pie a bit better. The pasty had mostly beef inside, and I would have preferred more of a mix with veggies. Unfortunately, the crust on both was soft without a hint of flakiness. So, the food was a bit of a mixed bag, but the service was good. I might go back to try something else.

The food is not that good and I would rather eat at Chili's, but the vibes are okay. I would only recommend coming for Happy Hour since they have a pretty generous menu or during their fun events like Karaoke. Service is decent and there's plenty of seating (especially on the weekdays when there is no wait).

British pub with surprisingly good eats! They have a large food menu and we enjoyed everything we ordered. My favorite was the tacos and the Reuben sandwich. The cocktails were a bit too sweet for us. They have a bar area, dining area, and outdoor patio. Service was great.

The British are here. I'm at Britannia Arms Almaden in Silicon Valley today. It looks like a traditional and classic Pub in here. There's some of my favorite like Fish & Chips, Corned Beef and Cabbage, and Shepherd's Pie. Today, I'm having something different, Cornish Pasties with Steak Fries and Veggies. Cornish Pasty reminds me of Calzone, Empanada, or Pâté chaud. It was delectable, freshly Baked, and warm. I really liked how I didn't need to ask for some gravy, they just gave me what I needed. And this is The Tropics, that's my Drank for tonight. I was thinking this was going to be a 3.8-4.2 stars, this can be very well a 4.4 stars on a good day, but I give this 4.3 stars.

Came for The Office trivia- stayed for the good times. Service - friendly and efficient during this Covid time. They were spread a little thin but they did a great job. Food was decent and filling- got the grilled cheese with ham. Not oily or anything and hit the spot. Drinks were good and they had themed drinks! Very fun experience and I definitely would be back if they have another trivia night!

Walking in we loved the vibe. Very old school and vintage. The crowd was mixed from gen z to baby boomers. And everyone was getting along. It was a Thursday and I guess they do karaoke that night. So it was fun seeing a bunch of drunks sing their heart out. Even found ourselves a San Jose Bruno Mars. The drinks were poured proportionately. Not too heavy but not too light. We also ordered the wings and fries, and they were surprisingly good. They got a 4 out of 5 due to the crowd and some overly drunk girls. We will definitely be back though. Nice neighborhood bar to get away too.

A handsome building with three distinct areas to settle in, it's easy to find comfort here. The choice mix-tape music with ample offerings from the 80s and 90s especially, help set the mood. And though this is an English pub, the music is not confined to the U.K. The beer selection is great - and international, as well. The Guiness menu on the wall is helpful, but there's even more to explore. Tumer Pils, Stella, et al. And there is a good whiskey menu, too. Trials is also great for food. I recently enjoyed their Pub Burger, which is a hearty plate of 1/2 lb. burger, with bacon, cheese, and the usual veggie accompaniment. The 'chips' are good and plentiful, but I have now tried their beer-battered onion rings -- and those are wonderful. Perfectly crunchy, not greasy, and just salty enough. If you do opt for the salad with any of your dishes, it's deep green and crafted with care. The side salad here is no afterthought. The Shepard's Pie looks great, and apparently is (though my dining companion failed to offer me a bite). Previously, I had enjoyed the falafel plate because sometimes, you just want falafel. Also previously, I tasted the chicken curry dish (hearty and delicious). The Mac n Cheese bites got high marks at our table, though I did not partake. The sausage rolls - classic pub fare - were very good on my first trip here. The cold water is refreshing and welcome. And the Tumer Pils hit the spot. It's all good here. Special mention for Thomas, one of the gents here. Super-likable, with a sly sense of humor, Thomas is a major asset at Trials Pub. Parking is easy -- or just ride-share -- just in case.

The owner was always kind and friendly and so were the staff. I even ended up meeting some of the regulars and would talk to them sometimes when I went there or when I saw them on the street. This place has managed to keep it's spot in a very expensive area in which honestly a lot of businesses around them have closed and gone out of business while they have managed to stay open for over 15 years. I believe it's because of their amazing food. I love this place not just because the food is great, but because it holds some sort of nostalgia to me. Sometimes costumers would draw things and they would hang it up.Or sometimes they would allow local artists to sell their art in the restaurant if I remember correctly so you always got to see something new as they change it after a while to allow a new artist to showcase their work. Which is pretty cool if you ask me. One time I drew something funny and weird and they had it up for a while. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very relaxing to me. It's very comforting. It's very welcoming and very homie. I love the aesthetic inside. The place is very small though, but I never really had problem finding a place to sit. If you are looking for outstanding vegan food I suggest you try good karma on Santa Clara in first Street. San Jose ca.
