It's rare that I get to go out dancing, being a mom, but when I do, it's such a treat. The last 2 times I've been to Molly Magees' I have had the luck of dancing to the Vietnamese DJ who takes every request with, "I got you." He really turns it up, and I really get to dance. The last time I went there, I brought some friends and had the unfortunate lesson that DJs are rotated in. So we would not have the Vietnamese DJ. Instead, we had a DJ named Jose Melendez. At the beginning of the night, I requested 90's Hip Hop. He said, "This is 90's Hip Hop." I said, "I've never heard this song before." He said rudely, "That's not my problem." We were the only people on the dance floor for most of the night. The music was terrible and eventually, it became a chore to dance. We were dancing to excercise but spent the night making fun of the music by dancing as terribly as possible. What is the point of DJing if you're only going to play music that empties your dance floor? Hope we never see this DJ again. He was rude his music stunk. read more

Visited during St. Patty's, not a bad experience! It was definitely busier than usual because of the holiday, and I enjoyed the bustling environment. The service was quite slow, but that was understandable considering how busy they were. The employees seemed overwhelmed and were rushing around. The space itself is lovely - tiny dance floor, outdoor patio, plenty of bar seating, and a big pool table. There were a couple people who refused to leave the pool table and give other customers a chance to play, which was entertaining. The music was definitely vintage, and the dance floor got more and more crowded as the night went on. It was a nice place to spend an evening hanging out with friends. read more

FYI I am only reviewing the Guinness here, the pub itself was decent and nice, and the bartender was a cool, Irish man. I've been on the hunt for a good pint since visiting Ireland (as all people do when they get a taste of it from its home). I liked the traditional pour... but that was about it. The glass wasn't completely clean, there were bubbles in the head, it just tasted like a decent can of Guinness, and, worst of all, it was not an Irish pint (sorry I must sound pretty pretentious right now). Food and service is good, Ambiance is good was well really up beat, however if you want to get harassed while using the bathroom this is the place for you. I walked in paying 7 dollars for an entry then headed to the bathroom to excuse myself when security forces me out of the bathroom mid shit for absolutely no reason. As security was already reaching for the handle, I'm explaining to him that I just entered, but forced me out anyways. We came here on a Friday night and it took a while to pick up but it became very lively around 12. When you come in there are several security guards, some nicer than others. They will pat you down for weapons which is actually kind of nice and there was a 7 dollar cover. The ambiance is of a dive but a dive that aspires to be a night club. Very small dance floor but a nice outside patio area with its own tiny bar in the back. When I first got there I stood at the bar when no one else was and was maybe 3 feet away from what I'm pretty sure was the owner or manager. He was really into talking to the other bar tenders who were cleaning and not paying attention to people who wanted drinks. He walks away then comes back and still doesn't ask me for my order!?! It was over 7 minutes to get my first drink and the manager was literally right infront of me chatting it up. When I did finally get a drink it was insanely over priced 10 bucks for a modelo! All in all it was decent people watching for a small bit of time but I would never throw my money away here in the future. the cost of drinks with a cover is high way robbery. We only came here on a fluke because it seemed interesting from the outside. Also why is it trying so hard to be a pub? This is the most non Irish bar I've ever been to except for the shamrocks thrown around randomly here and there. So strange to me. 2.5 stars: I dislike this dive bar for a number of reasons. The demographic is a bit older; it's not a trendy and hip spot for 20/30 somethings. It's very dark and hard to see anything inside. Their drink Irish collins tastes pretty bad. It has too much gin and it overpowers the whole drink. They don't play music which makes the environment feel awkward. There's two TVs on top of the bar but the volume isn't up high enough to hear what's on it. However, their raspberry kamikaze tastes pretty good and there's a pool table in the back which costs $1 per game. The bartender is very nice and friendly, but I don't think I'd be back. read more

I usually have a great night here and everything turned out good, But the bartender with the "Oakley" glasses tried to say my tab was 40$. It ended up being 23$ (plus tip) on a busy friday night which is understandable but I got confirmation from people around the bar that he did indeed say "40$" with the receipt. I stopped by Molly's last night for a drink before meeting up with friends at Opal. My first time coming here post-pandemic. And yes!! So happy I did. First, very nice bartenders! There were 3 younger women working at the bar, and they had THE cutest outfits on! I like seeing people dressed in style if I'm out on a Saturday night. Adds to the whole ambiance. And I must say-- best of all, my Cosmo was only $8!! And when I gave the bartender my cash, she was very appreciative of my tip. And my Cosmo came in a martini glass! It was sold out in 20 minutes but also have other delicious beers from Russian River such as Pliny the Elder, Blind Pig, Ballast Point Sculpin IPA, lots of good stuff on tap. Just wanted to go say Happy New Years to one of the staff there, right now, was told the specific staff was there by the security but I wasn't allowed unless I paid $20 fee, (which I paid because they promised he would be in there) but when I went in after I paid they told me that he already left a while ago after I paid and I feel very disappointed and betrayed since I asked to make sure he's in there before I paid. Usually a regular here. Guess they had an off night tonight. Showed up, bar was totally empty. Sat around for 5-10 minutes (washing glasses bs, etc). Suddenly, a platoon of 30 people marched in. I love this place when you just want to go to chill and dance with your friends! it's not really a place you can go to hook up or meet any new people or anything like that. The crowd is mostly late 20s to early 30s, im not sure. they are like A BILLION CREEPERS so laaadies, watch out. I had to get saved on multiple occasions. they also pack this place to the max. THere is sometimes no walking room and probably forever to try and get drinks. Mad props and respect to their bartender Will! He was super friendly and even though I usually don't condone bartenders yelling at their patrons, I accept it when patrons are being stupid and drunk. Basically, some people were drinking outside (in front of) the bar which is illegal. Will went over and gave them a warning not to. Then Will caught them doing it again as well as bringing outside alcohol into the bar. The patron that got his drink thrown out walked in super angry and Will basically stood up for himself and the rest of the bar and kicked them out. I have never seen a bartender so angry but also so calm at the same time. I would have lost my temper. But also, this place turns into a small dance floor on Fridays and Saturdays. They also have outdoor seating and an outdoor bar for when inside gets crowded. Plenty of seats to go around as well. The best part about this place is the amount of taps that they have. Molly's was pretty empty at about 7pm yet we had a hard time getting the attention of the older gentleman tending bar. He was standing in one spot chatting up a buddy and the long bar was littered with used glasses. Eventually we flagged him down, and with a scowl got served...like a subpoena. If you do not mind a smelly bar with undrinkable well drinks and cheap shots and poor service...bingo, this might be your place! Just remember to bring your own wet-wipes for the sticky stools. This was our last spot in our Mountain View adventure last night. We were looking for a full fledged bar, and this one seemed to take the cake. Upon entering you go through a security check in case you might have a knife, gun, nun-chucks, grenade, toothpick, or a STD. They don't want you to be a danger to community of drunks. They also have a cover charge and only take cash, which is weird because they take credit card for drinks. This place is a hopping place. Lots of people dancing and getting their grove on. Hell, we even saw a 70+ grandma shaking her booty like she had nothing to lose. Go hyper grandma! The drinks are pretty basic, and even though they have a huge variety of beer, it's not the fancy beer that Vikings drinks. People here get very loud and of course, very drunk. Didn't feel very welcomed here. We had part of our party removed because they weren't 21, understandable. They just waited on the outside side of the gate while we tried to finish our drinks. But they accused us of handing off our drinks to our friends outside. 1. Our friends outside didn't even want to drink, we just wanted to lounge and hang out. 2. When we denied the accusation, they told us it was our final warning. We downed our drinks and left because it was clear they didn't want us there.
