This was my first time at this particular bar, and we only came for the karaoke night. It was a traditional, hole in the wall bar with a lot of regulars, the bartender was very sweet, and they only accept cash! Funny to think how in Silicon Valley a place doesn't accept credit. Lol I'm only doing three stars instead of the normal four since they only accept cash and I didn't know beforehand. Everything was actually fine at this particular location. They were a lot of people playing darts and it seems like all the regulars of Sunnyville came out here. Lol we weren't a part of the group, but it was very clicky once the regular saw each other. Lol I don't know if I'll come here again, but my friend had a lot of fun singing karaoke. They did not have any food, but there was a Chinese dumpling spot next-door but sadly it closed so we went down the street to get some fried chicken at Dave's hot chicken. Totally a blast into the past. Arcade games, snooker table, darts and bring your own snacks. Except there is not much for non alcoholics except NA beer. It requires some getting used to. We had a fun evening in this cozy place. Service was good, remember cash only. If they want to attract some Indian people then bring in carrom board tables and it should be fun. The place is small and cozy and warm . Will bring back some friends one of these days. read more

By far, one of my ATF dive bars in the entire South Bay!!!! 1st of all, I love the basic dive-ness of it! The best dive bars, in my opinion, have to have "an authentic, unpretentious atmosphere featuring cheap drinks, a loyal, eclectic crowd, and a "no-nonsense" demeanor, often with classic entertainment like a jukebox, pool table, or dart boards" (quoted google). Thats Beefys! 2nd of all, the bartenders are super fun and do a great job, ESPECIALLY LYCA! She was the whole reason I went in there in the 1st place!!! I love her! 3rd, I'll tell you what... when I went to karaoke night, I was BLOWN AWAY! The singing was overall much better than other karaoke bars I have been to, but what made it even more awesome was the positivity from everyone in the entire place! I have never been to a dive bar that was SOOO full of such great juju and optimistic vibes! The environment has all kinds of dope vintage signs and cool crap! They even have old school Nintendos and s&#t up in there!!!! But all those awesome things aside, the owners are TOP notch and really bring everything full circle for me! A typical, comfortable dive bar. Rolled in from out of town and was looking for a drink and a mellow place to kill a couple of hours. Found this place about a half mile from our hotel and rolled in on a Saturday afternoon around 3:00 and the place only had a couple of folks in it. Friendly, in a good mood, as it should be in a neighborhood bar. Sandra was working the bar and I'd like to thank her for her service and hospitality. They were going to set up for a birthday party in the evening and I was graciously invited to stay, but I unfortunately had other plans. Would have gladly stayed. Seemed like a real chill place for a mature crowd and I hope to visit again sometime in the future. read more

BEEFY's RULES!!!! As Divey as it gets. 10 dart boards. A pool table. Some random pin ball machine in the corner. A punching bag machine. Maybe 12 people total who don't really seem to know eachother. Awkward Karaoke with a speaker that goes in and out. Def some weird dude in the corner eyeing your lady friend. It's truly all you could ask for plus there's a bangin dumpling spot next door. I live in LA and come up here for work nearby and I gotta say... Beefy's might be my favorite bar EVER!!!! I'm not sure how you cannot give Beefy's lower than a 5 star. It's a dive bar, it lives up to all the dive bar rules. Bonus they have steel tip dart boards and a pool table. Beer a plenty, alcohol of course and wine you'd expect to be here. I guess a bigger tv for a sports may be a plus, but then again it may have to move to a sports bar classification if they did. I'm on a perpetual mission to find reasonably-priced and genuine dive bars on the Peninsula. Beefy's is both. It's an unfussy, cash-only joint tucked into a run-down strip mall just off El Camino in Sunnyvale. Definitely has a neighborhood/townie feel, but totally welcoming. Last time we visited there was a serious dart tournament going on, which made the vibe extra fun. Cocktails are generous, beers are cold, and you don't have to wait long for a pool table if you want one. If you're over the scenes of the various "downtowns" on the Peninsula and just want a goddamn drink without seeing all your coworkers, Beefy's is well worth a try. read more

All that a local dive bar should be. Good atmosphere and good people. Sunnyvale doesn't have a ton of options as far as dive bars go, but this is a good option and really easy to get to. Located right next to the neighborhood in which I live, so it being in walking distance is a plus. read more

Your stereotypical dive bar - you can play darts, bring in your own food, order no frill drinks from the bar, and play pool. I got a couple of thier moscow mules and the drinks were surprisingly good and had a nice kick to them. Plenty of seating in the bar and because it's not located in a busy neighborhood, the place doesn't get too packed which is a good thing. Beefy's is a solid local dive. It's hidden in a dark and sketchy looking strip mall on a side street off El Camino. You'll like this joint if you're into darts as for the Saturday night we went, they had a tournament on their 3 boards. Other night's they offer different events I think pool tourney was one of them? It was a mostly an older "hard rock" type of crowd but there was a few younger people chillin' here and there. They even had a large group of Indian guys hanging out. Fortunately, they didn't do what the person who ftr this joint said they would do. Otherwise, it may have earned this fine establishment an extra star. It looks sketchy on the outside especially with people just hanging out but it's super chill on the inside with some locals who love pool and darts. I think we were the only people of color in the whole place, so there was this huge head turn as soon as we walked into the place. No big deal...I just walked in and grabbed some darts and started throwing. Once everyone realized I was normal, they returned to their normal conversations and ignored me. As far as dive bars go, I really like this place. i've been to The Office a little farther north off of Sylvan and this place is much better. I don't think they have peanuts or or pretzels out but that would have be money if they did. But since drinks are cheaply priced I can't complain too much. Beefy's is in a super random location in a Sunnyvale strip mall behind some car dealerships. My friend discovered it earlier this year, and it's now his go-to local bar. Solid dive bar in Sunnyvale. Off to the side of El Camino in a crappy strip mall. As you walk in you'll see the two pool tables by the door, the bar past them, and the main feature: the dart board wall. Darts are free, just have to ask the bartender, but know some nights are Dart League - there is also a pool night, so might want to check the calendar. A number of well options and some decent craft beer choices - nicely served in chilled glasses. Cute little dive bar. It's a small divey bar with pool table, darts and three tv's turned to sports channel. The bartender was very friendly. Seems like one of those hole in the wall places where the locals hang out and all know each other. It's at the end of a very small strip mall. Quiet place to have a drink or three lol. Well this bar isn't a whole lot to speak of. I went a few times and it's mostly darts. They do have a pool table but not too many pool players. My main complaint is that one night my GF went without me to play in a poker tournament and the owner pulled her aside and told her she wasn't welcome because she wasn't buying any drinks. Refusing to allow someone in because they don't feel like drinking is pretty outrageous .... and gets them a 1 star review. If it weren't for that incident I'd rate this place 3 stars. Went in today for a gin and tonic and the barkeep, Angelica, was very friendly, chatty (in a welcoming, engaging manner, not just to hear the sound of her own voice) and made a great drink, even suggesting some ways to spruce up my gin and tonic at home. This place is capital F FUN. Went last night (Saturday) with the boyfriend since he's big into darts. And that's definitely the name of the game there. The Santa Clara Valley Dart Association was in the house and all five boards were rockin'. We managed to get in a few games and had the best time. They also have two pool tables for those who prefer cues to darts. From the bartendress to the patrons, people are really friendly. There's a mix from young to old and everyone was smiling. Drinks are reasonably priced, $4.00 for a mixed drink, $5.50 for Kahlua and milk, $5.00 for a 16 ounce pint. I also overheard someone getting a pitcher for $9.00. They've got the usual on tap, Guinness, Bass, Pabst and a few others. They don't offer food but don't seem to care if you bring some in on your own. This may be our new favorite hang out. read more

Best dart bar in the bay area - I've been coming here longer than I think I'd like to admit. Five regular dart boards (Seven on really busy tournament nights). Two pool tables. There are pool leagues and dart leagues on various nights, plus regular tournaments. And, a TouchTunes jukebox for your music pleasure. Saturday nights have a friendly in-house dart tournament. Blind draw doubles Chicago (301, 501 and cricket) for $6 - double elimination. Indian food next door is reasonable, though they close by about 9:30pm most nights. read more

I loved Beefy's when it was on Washington, before the soulless housing/shopping area was built on its ruins. The new place isn't bad, but I miss the old days. Beefy's is a locals bar and oen that has a loyal clientele. The drinks are average, the prices are average, and atmosphere is average. The place really does get good marks on service and I've never been more comfortable in a bar. The pool tables are busy, there are a tonne of darts lanes and the jukebox is OK. I like sitting at the bar, watching the TV (especially when they leave on AWA wrestling from ESPN Classic) and just enjoy my sittin' around time. Free WiFi don't hurt either. read more

This place is really...great. It's tucked away in Sunnyvale, between all the car dealerships off El Camino. When you see the place, you might think "what in tarnation", but when you walk in, it's a fun place. They got a couple pool tables and 4 dart boards. They often have dart tournaments when I show up, so it can be tough to play sometimes. They have a jukebox, and a pretty good selection at the bar, and really cold mugs, nice. They also let you bring in food, always a plus. I don't know how often I'd end up at Beefy's, but whenever I go to Taste Buds, I definitely like to come here after for a drink. read more

Just over three years ago, my Fiance and I went to Beefy's on our first date, where he proceeded to kick my butt at darts, as I bought the first round of drinks... We're classy like that, I know. I was a regular at Beefy's before then and I loved the cheap booze and free darts. Having just come back to the area for Chico, I was in search of a nice cheap no frills bar. Great little bar to have a drink after work or watch a giants game

Talk about a dive bar.... This is a small bar, located right on El Camino. Its serves its purpose- good drinks, good price, and no presumptuous people. There seems to be a tight group of locals who frequent the joint- evident by large group of men who sat in front welcoming several people who entered by name. They have several dart boards along one wall and have a standard (Friday or Saturday- I can't remember) Dart tournament, but get there early if you want to be involved, because you can't join later and they won't let you play one game with your friends during the tournament. They also have 2 pool tables, but its bar rules, name on the chalk board and you have to play the previous winner for the rights to play your friends even if the last winner in question is an extremely annoyingly intoxicated girl who will simply not pay attention to the game and would rather run around and yell. Granted this is probably not the way it always is, but it was on a Saturday (of Friday?) night. All in all- its a nice little hole in the wall. read more

There's not much nightlife on this strip on el Camino. We were staying down the road and stopped in here for a night cap. Highlight was the darts - 4 or 5 boards to play on. I couldn't finish my draft beer, it tasted old and dirty and I knew I'd have a belly ache the next day. Cash only.
