I had an incredibly frustrating and unprofessional experience here tonight, specifically with a staff member named Tino. I was here playing in my APA league and we also got a practice table. At around 10pm a waitlist started to form, Tino came over to take our table away. We politely offered to just pay the regular hourly rate to keep it. He asked how many of us there were. When we said two, he visibly scoffed, acted like that wasn't enough, and told us we would have to pay the rate for four people if we wanted to keep the table. Then, he just took the table away from us anyway. Worse, when I was complaining to my teammates, he started yelling at me, complaining that we had the table for three hours, that his employee hadn't had lunch yet, and that we needed to give it up and get back on the waitlist. His entire attitude was aggressive, and he tried to make me feel like I was in the wrong for simply playing on a table we had legitimately secured. Later, when the league ended around 11pm, the double standard became painfully obvious. Tino came over specifically to shut down our league table, even though several other teams were still practicing on theirs. He completely ignored everyone else and specifically targeted us. I have been playing pool for nearly 20 years, currently shooting as an APA level 7, with a FargoRate of 568, and I know proper pool hall etiquette. I have never been kicked off a table, singled out, or spoken to this way by staff anywhere. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. Final words to 946: if you don't want the league to interrupt your business, just don't host it. If you choose to host it, treat the players nicely, as we are customers too. read more

What a great place for a date activity or meeting up with friends. Lots of tables and decent selection of beers on tap. It can be a little pricey for beer and pool table rentals but great ambiance. Best tip i can offer is there's parking in the back, so don't be discouraged about parking if you only checked out the small parking are in front. read more

Nice and clean billiards. Tables relatively new. Cues are still straight enough to use. Vibe is busy and happening. Pretty nice. Some pros, some amateurs and some casual. Customer service at the check in table is solid and fair. No favoritism for frequent customers which is nice. Servers were courteous and polite. Would come again. Food menu is very limited. Found this spot via Yelp and it did not disappoint. Large, clean space with fairly new equipment. Restrooms clean too. Drinks and food available. Affordable pricing. I would estimate about 25 pool tables total. My friend and I waited less than 10 mins to get a table on a busy Friday night. Definitely one of my new fav spots! There's a small parking lot up front and it was completely full when we got there on a Saturday night around 9pm. Circled, got lucky, and parked. Inside, there are about 10-15 tables on each side of the bar. Bar being in the center of the large room. With the bar is the register where you put your name down. In order to hold your spot in line, they require an ID and payment card. We had about 6 parties ahead of us when we got there so they said to wait at the bar. There was plenty of seating around the bar. Probably about 10 bar seats along the side of it and more on the other side. They had a decent selection of beers and snacks. The servers were all super nice. The wait was about 30 minutes before it was our turn. Ambiance of this place was sleek, clean and inviting. Nothing like the usual smokey, old, unkempt billiards bars. They definitely take great care of this place. This is probably the best spot to play Billiards in the South Bay. Whenever my friends have the itch to play pool, I always recommend this place. The service is super nice and efficient, you just walk up to the person and he'll tell you which table to go to. I personally prefer the tables next to the wall, but some of them have smaller pockets which make it harder. I love the tables because they're pretty new and they're always really clean. All of the cues are also in great condition. There are plenty of TVs around the hall and assorted chairs and tables here and there. I would definitely say that this place is more focused on the pool part rather than being a place to meet people and socialize. They sell beer and some assorted snacks, which are pretty decent but also a bit pricey. If your purpose is food, you shouldn't be here but that's pretty obvious since this is a pool hall. Arrived shortly before 5 PM on a Friday evening, and did not have to wait for a table at all. There were actually only two other tables being used at the time. The pool hall had a very cool and fun vibe, with very friendly staff. The equipment is all very new and nice still, though the cue sticks I used were slightly bent/curved for sure. The felt on the tables feel and look great, and the tables themselves have great stability and heft. Played for just under an hour between two players and had a wonderful time. Have you ever had a worker force you and guilt trip you into tipping? Well, this was a first for me too. My family and I came in today for the first time and we had a great time at our table. Paid for $8 drinks and $130 worth of game time. Once it was time to pay, we paid it all. And while we were looking at our receipt, the white man-child cashier said "Y'all don't wanna put gratuity for the drinks?" And we didn't catch what he said at first. Then he said "Y'all go out for drinks and don't tip?" Tip for what? Y'all pulled a lever and handed it to us? That's not mentioning the hygiene hazards we already saw. Well, it's clear that NO ONE SHOULD TIP Y'ALL because you wanna say sum dumb shi like that. He continued to make a comment saying "We got another one." That dude made it feel really homey because he was just interacting with everyone and gave off a positive atmosphere. We came back the following week and the same guy wasn't there, but another dude helped us out and he was chill too. Such good vibes here. The equipment including the tables, balls, and cue sticks were clean and well kept; nothing grimy. I haven't had the chance to try the food because I have low expectations when I read the menu because you go here to play pool and have fun, not eat lool. There were many little tables as well so you can drink, sit, and relax if your not even playing. We've been looking for a place to play billiards in the South Bay for a while and finally decided to try out 946 and we had a blast! The table rates are quite good and the price per person goes down dramatically with more people at the same table. Additionally, their equipment is kept in good condition -just the normal signs of us, but all their pool cues and tables are great to use. We didn't get to try the food, but the smell of garlic fries was pervasive and made me really want to try them. I just went to this billiards establishment for the fist time, and I was very impressed. As a woman, I didn't feel intimidated, unlike the way some billiards places come off. The music was good and kept the ambience fun without being overpowering. It was really crowded, but not too loud that I couldn't hear my friend when talking to them. I got to try the snooker table- Which was an amazing experience. I'd never seen a snooker table before and I felt lucky to be a part of the experience. The staff was friendly and attentive. Since it was my first time playing snooker, they said if I didn't want to continue, I could just switch to a pool table for no extra charge- which was really kind of them. Also I appreciated that they had more than just beer. They also had hard seltzer, hard lemonade, and I think they even had wine. The drinks (not cocktails) were about $6-8 each, which seemed very reasonable. Overall I will definitely be returning. For two drinks and an hour of snooker, I paid about $40+tip, which was well worth it consider I got to have such a unique experience. read more

It's not too high priced (compared to other Bay Area activities) and they have a good selection of drinks and bar food.
