I really hope this place doesn't close. One of the few places around here that you can play pool and play darts. Parking lot can get busy depending on when you're there. They have blacked out windows which could freak out some people, but there's nothing to freak out about. Staff is nice and customers tend to keep to themselves. I love seeing how there seem to be a good number of regulars because people seem to know each other there. Front desk is at the very back next to the bar and restrooms. They have a bar so you can eat and drink while playing pool. Each time we've gone lately, we haven't had to wait too long for a table. We've gone on off peak times and it was great. Service is great. Nachos are gigantic for just us two, but we made a good dent in it. They definitely hit the spot. We'll definitely be back. read more

It should have a higher rating but this is just for my visit. The tables are well kept but the temperature is too hot. But my main complaint was I asked for a tip scuffer and the guy behind the counter said no because I wanted to use it on there cue. I own several cues and have been playing over 50 years I'm also 620 Fargo rated player. I know how to use a scuffer. I just didn't have my cue with me that night. I love this pool hall and am always satisfied when I come. I always get a beer and some snacks, and they are pretty standard but nothing special. The service here from the bartenders/kitchen staff are always kind and patient. There are many pool tables and I'm not sure how busy it gets on a Fri/Sat, but there's never an issue with waiting when coming during funemployed times. They also have tournaments, and I made the mistake of not calling or checking before driving 40 minutes to play pool here. They seemed to have a lot of open tables though so I wish they had let us play anyway :( There is also easy parking in the lot, and lots of food nearby. There's also someone who sits at the door every time I come, but isn't wearing a security guard fit or anything also, and I have no idea what they're doing but if someone finds out who they are and what they're doing please let me know haha it's such a big mystery to me. read more

Came here several times with friends and enjoyed my first time, but not the second time sadly.. it had nothing to do with the service, but more so the amenities they had to offer. Pool tables were all booked so my party and I decided to play some foosball, no biggie. Foosball tables and pinball machines all require quarters which unfortunately, this establishment does not have a change machine. It would be pretty convenient to have one since majority of your machines only accept quarters or dollar bills. There was an ATM where I able to withdraw some money out of (with a $20 minimum deposit) and decided to ask the bartender for some change in quarters. I felt like I was inconveniencing the bartender by asking for change for a $20 in QUARTERS.. I obviously didn't get the entire $20, probably like $3 worth or so because that would be overkill.. but anyways, got the change and made my way to the pinball machines. It ended up eating all my quarters because both machines were broken without any signage :') not only did I have to take out $20 (with an extra $3 ATM fee) for no reason, but it ate all my quarters that I had to bother the bartender for even though she was busy. I just felt like an annoyance to her more than anything and felt disappointed when I couldn't even play the games. I'll just stick to pool, I mean it's what they specialize in anyways. read more

Went on a Thursday night and the place was packed, there were many people there of different ages and it looked like the spot to go to. It's located around a bunch of different restaurants so you can always eat before or after you come in. The service wasn't friendly, just felt like people who were getting by their shifts, which is fine imo because I get it. We gave our name to the person in front and he didn't give us an estimate, just said that there's a short line and we'd have to wait. We ended up waiting around 20-30 minutes, which was doable because we decided to just chill and get drinks. There wasn't really a waiting area, but we found a spare chair to sit/hover until our table was ready. One of the bartenders working there that night was super rude. I didn't see a drink menu and I asked for a simple recommendation for sweet drinks (her favorite to make, drink, or a popular order by customers would've sufficed) and she gave me attitude instead. The bar wasn't busy and she talked and looked at me like I was a huge annoyance. I'm not asking for a huge smile and a "my pleasure" attitude for service, but some bare minimum kindness and patience would've been great considering that our conversation was less than 2-3 minutes. I still decided to order a drink and we were given a table near the front. The pricing is fair, it was $18 an hour after 5pm ($10 before 5) and I still had fun with my group despite the unpleasant exchange. The atmosphere was lively and everyone there seemed like they were having a great time. There are other games there that you can play like foosball and darts. I'm not eager to come to this establishment again but I'm not opposed either as I did get to eventually play my games of pool with ease. read more

It's $0.75 per player, and most dart games allow a max of four players. There's no one guiding you, so you just claim an open board and get started. There are some tables near the dart area for your group to hang out, but they're first-come, first-serve, so plan accordingly. I go here pretty frequently because it's sooo near everything! Really convenient to just go to after a dinner at the nearby places! The pricing is pretty good and fair, the ambiance is great too! California Billiards has easily become a favorite of my friends and family. We came here on a Saturday evening before new years and it was pretty busy. Wait time for a pool table was 1hr. It was exactly 8 so play time at 9 isn't bad since they're open late. My family and I decided to play foosball in the meantime. I always remember to bring my own quarters because the change machine can be broken at times. The claw machine was also broken this day. We got our table right at 9 and played for about 4 hours which came close to $50. Food: Buffalo wings - 10/10 they sauce these bad boys up Mozzarella sticks - 10/10 can never go wrong with mozza Jalapeño poppers - 9/10 these are so good but the cheese was cream cheese and not melted Teriyaki chicken bowl- 9/10 portion was huge. Enough for two people Chicken strips- 8/10 a little dry but big basket of fries Cheese burger w fries- 7/10 patty was dry but the size is pretty good. idk about the men's but the women's restroom was clean as a whistle. This is one of the most underrated spots in Fremont. I've been coming here for a few months now as I've picked up an affinity for 8 ball and snooker and I was absolutely delighted to find this place. First off, it's a billiards hall that has not one but THREE snooker tables! I've been to so many billiards halls in the Bay, and if im lucky I'll find one snooker table. Secondly, there's a big variety of pool tables you can get. There's the small pool tables ("bar tables"), the big pool tables, and the snooker table. The bar tables are the cheapest. Also table rates are cheaper earlier in the day (I think before 5?). The bar is also great. It's a full bar, and I've been here on a Saturday night where people are taking shots. It's honestly a great place for people to meet up in Fremont. There's also food- while I have no tried it myself, I saw the chicken strips a week ago and they looked pretty good. Overall I would definitely recommend this place for a night out in Fremont or for a quick round of 8 ball to unwind after work during the week. Pretty chill place! I love how mellow it is and it isn't too rowdy. I joined my cousins at this place to hang out before going to dinner at Sizzling Lunch next door. I think it's cool they have a bar and offer snacks here too. I only saw one guy working the food/bar and they seemed busy so I didn't want to bother trying to order. I cannot believe I have never been here! I have seen this place before, just never been. We decided one night we were going to check it out. We walked here after eating a snack at STIX. Upon entering, the lights were dim and music was playing. It's a super low-key vibe with lots of people - let's just say every table was taken. There was an older gentleman at the door- not sure if he was security? There are pool tables to the left and right: we walked down the aisle all the way to the end where there was a bar to the right side of the building and electronic dartboards to the left. To the right is where you check in and put your name down for a table. We went to the bar to order drinks and snack on fries, even sharing a burger! There are tables between the bar and the electronics dartboards and that's where we decided we'd hang out for the evening. We sat there and enjoyed snacking, talking and drinking. Didn't get a table this time around because we were there just to check this place out. The next time we returned, we went all out and brought some friends along- had a great time! Overall, a good ambiance, clean, great place to have a good time and just hang out! We will definitely be back. Four stars because this kind of place is not for everyone. We had a blast! Patrick & David who work the counter are great guys, always super friendly and were helpful since day one back when we were brand new. Weekends are pretty busy so we usually start with darts first then move over to the pool tables once our name is called. The food is great with a cool selection to choose from. If you're looking for a fun time with friends that doesn't cost much at all come check this place out.
