On of them named Zoey was yelling for over a half hour about other women in the bar, and I really mean yelling. "B-word this, b-word that, IM NOT DRUNK, I WORK HERE!!" at the top of her lungs. I had to get up and move to the other side of the bar because she was so drunk and belligerent but because she is an employee no one told her to shut up. The bar tender that was working was only paying attention to her friends. I had to ask one of her friends to order for me because she was ignoring everyone else and it worked. Could be a cool place if it had a different staff.

Only special times when we have a community meal. It is incredible to think that people have been making memories there for decades - easily 30 or even 40 years like my husband, Mike! It truly feels like a cornerstone of our neighborhood, a place where everyone knows your name and you always feel at home. All visitors have gone thru the challenges of life despite their differences--respectfully. And so much of that incredible, welcoming spirit comes directly from Chris, the manager with Nick and Janine, the bartenders. Chris genuinely believes in creating a true community hub, fostering an atmosphere where everyone feels like they're part of an extended family. You can really feel that dedication when you're there; it's exactly the kind of friendly, local spot we all cherish. We hope to celebrate my husband's birthday on Saturday, June 6!

We were seated in the main dining area that has a prix fixe menu but we were also able to order from their ala carte menu. Some people complain that the ambience is outdated and it feels old but we thought the interiors were charming and well maintained. We experienced the Michelin Star charm in service right from the beginning. Our server Justin was thoughtful throughout even though there was a slight glitch in service when he forgot our coffee and tea order. We waited for quite some time and had to remind him about it. He had clearly forgotten about it. The coffee and tea was delicious but we still saw the charge on our check despite his forgetfulness. We felt this wasn't the Michelin Star experience but it was a one off situation so it was water under the bridge. From the prix fixe menu, I chose half a dozen Saint Simon Oysters, their French omlette Forestiere and the chocolate souffle. My husband chose the oysters too and paired them with olive oil poached wild king salmon and farmstead cheeses instead of a dessert. From the ala carte menu, we chose the lobster roll and a dozen more oysters. The oysters were said to arrive all together but we recieved only the prix fixe menu oysters first. Our server fixed that by checking up on us and made sure the next dozen arrived sooner. The first batch of oysters barely had any meat. We were slightly disappointed so our server made sure the next batch that we paid full price from the ala carte menu from were doubled up. We appreciated the effort. Doubled up meat definitely added more flavor and gave us something to rave about. They were briny and delicious! The chef also sent out 2 tiny bites on the house to celebrate guests! They were beef carpaccio bites and my husband enjoyed those a lot! The lobster roll was beautifully buttery but it was missing slaw. I thought there wasn't enough tartness to balance out the creaminess. It was still very good though. The rest of the food was impeccable! The omlette was French and so delicious and delicate! The wild mushrooms tasted out of the world. The thin layer of cheese spread inside the delicate omlette was just buttery beauty! My husband's olive oil poached salmon was just melt in your mouth delicious! The cheeses were specialty and the souffle was best I've ever had! The food reminded us so much of our visit to France last year! We chose 2 mocktails and they were delicious too! The mignardises or the chocolate bon bons were the perfect end to this delicious meal! A special ice cream sandwich for my birthday on the house was much appreciated. I cannot wait to dine here in the future and explore other options from their menu!

My co-worker and i work about 5 minutes from this bar. It was sure my first time and surely last time i will ever go there. The bartender was so a skinny older Caucasian women, extremely rude yelling at people. As on our second drink she went outside yelling at customers, then came back inside and continued yelling at other customers. At this point my co-worker and I decided to pay for our drinks and excuse our self. I Have never been a new paying customer that felt so embarrassed to just be in a hostile environment that is supposed to be nice and relaxing right after work. I hope the owner was not present and hopefully is not aware of the way she functions in his place of business, if the owner is they should be extremely embarrassed. I suggest the owner goes but unannounced or have someone check out how this business is run when the owner is not present. Poor judgment on the hiring process! read more

We visited the day after Christmas with a large group, with additional friends joining us later. Unfortunately, the bartender was noticeably rude. She mentioned she was tired from working seven days in a row, which we understood and empathized with. However, our friends were then confronted in a hostile and rude manner, which could have been handled much differently. Being yelled at and having the situation blown out of proportion was uncalled for. As paying customers bringing a significant amount of business, we expected a more professional and welcoming experience from this establishment. Better bartender next time would've been nicer. read more

i was attacked by the bartender a really buff woman ( Rhonda ) that looks like a man last night for no reason. My lawyer and I are looking into a suit for harassment. She randomly came out and attacked me the patrons claimed she had been in an altercation earlier so it wasn't because of me . But it was very unprofessional.. I'll be doing what i can to ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else. I will try and continue to contact the owner as i will be suing this bar for her harassment and behavior. I would not recommend this place anymore after i was attacked by this unattractive man/woman read more

And from what the bartender told me, they have 2-3 more bars from San Leandro to Hayward. So building quite a string of dive bars. But if you know how to run a certain business and have resources to expand, I say more power to ya! This particular spot had been a couple of other bars in the past. The Alibi Room waaay back, Mojo's Lounge the past 20 years or so and now this incarnation. New look inside gives it a fresh makeover, nicer TVs and a new color scheme, that actually works (black and dark wood). New employees too. What really hasn't changed are the beer taps selection is still pretty legit like over a dozen craft brews line the back bar. Pricing still on par with the dive bar tier, like still under $10 for most drinks which I tend to gravitate towards. Same customers for the most part as dive bar regs are super loyal to their area. Been in a couple of times and I'm liking what I've seen/experienced. I'm sure they'll evolve a few things since they are still in their 1st year of operations. Here's to the new blood, welcome to the neighborhood.
