Hands down the best billiard we've been to, we've been to other places that have pool tables but this is the real deal 100%. They have 8 tables and at the time we came in, they spaced us out perfectly so nobody would hit each other (although I'm sure they're all taken during busier times). Drink selection was surprisingly extensive and both my partner and I were able to find something we could enjoy. They also have snacks for anyone who is on the hungry side which I'm sure is helpful for the people who want to hangout longer. We met the owners who were really nice and fun to talk to! We'll definitely be back to enjoy the fun vibes (and practice our pool).

Went there yesterday with my partner and it was SOOOO FUN, and the cheapest date night out we have had by far. A hour of pool + 2 beers = only $33! They had snacks and other drinks available too. West Side Billiards has finally opened back up and it got remodeled. If you love to play pool & hang out this is the spot. The owners Yvette & George are super nice, friendly and make everyone feel welcomed! If you like to eat while you play pool they got some of the BEST BURGERS in town! These Burgers are Big Juicy & full of flavor! I definitely would come back for just a burger and beer! I'll be back soon

I really enjoyed myself at this place. It's a cool spot to shoot pool and grab a beer. I passed it at first bc I didn't want to stop on San Carlos, but I'm glad dropped in. Me and my wife went here after dinner on one of our date nights. It was a little improvised, but we were pleasantly surprised. They have these Brunswick tables that look like they have a few miles on em. They added character and seemed perfectly in place. My cue was bit crooked, but so be it. I adjusted. I still managed to knock a couple down. They also have a Juke box. I didn't pay much attention to it bc whoever was paying for songs got the mood right. This place has a little nostalgia to it. It feels welcoming and old school. My wife spoke with the owner. She was very polite and kicking ass behind the counter. I didn't try the food bc I had already eaten, but it looked pretty classic. Burger + fries etc. I'm not sure what else they offer. One thing I'd say they're missing is merch. If they would've had a tee or hat with their neon logo I would've bought it. Maybe link up with another San Jose brand for a collab. All in all I see myself going back and if it were a little closer to home I would even become a regular. read more

Revising my review: My partner and I absolutely love this establishment. We've visited this place at least 5 times since we've first ventured here in 2024. We've also brought along our friends and referred this great establishment over other billiards. For me, this place is too amazing that I've intentionally chosen to not visit other local billiards. The fries are a must every time I visit. I truly appreciate the the work and warmth from the owners that goes into running this place. I revoke my previous review only because to be fair, that was just my own personal thoughts--absolutely does not reflect on the business or anyone else but myself. I also super appreciate the beer costs, so my partner and I do consume a good amount. But of course, never to the point (and will never) to desecrate the place. Not like the stories we've heard . Cost is great too. I just absolutely appreciate the care placed into this place, along with the ample space for patrons to play, where people are here to have a good time and no judgment with their billiard level. My partner and I will always continue to go here with our punch card(s) and support this business. The owners are wonderful people--that will never change, and it's what makes this establishment distinguished. read more

Cozy spot for billiards with friends - 8 tables inside. Ample street parking around the area. Owners are friendly, we didn't try the food but could smell it throughout the pool hall (it smelled good!) rates are fair for 1-3 players but more expensive than other places if you have a party of 4 read more

The ttable lights are terrible. There are shadows at the ends of the tables where you cannot see the balls clearly! Also, the jukebox music was so loud that 'you could not thinke straight! Only given `1 piece of very used chalk! read more

Westside Billiards is a great spot to hang out and shoot some pool with friends. I love that their pricing is straightforward ($8 per hour) and doesn't depend on time of day or how many people are playing. There are 2 rows of 4 tables each; the front row by the bar has slower felt and the back row has faster felt. It's nice to have options depending on the style and level of play. Yvette and George are friendly and welcoming and they do a great job running a cozy and retro pool hall. Save some room for the garlic fries and Westside jalapeno burger! read more

Went here in the evening with some friends. I was pretty hungry so I got the California burger and it was AMAZING! I didn't expect this place to have such good food and such kind owners. Finally got to check out the reopening of West Side Billiards! Right away you're welcomed by the owners, the price is hourly per person or by game I think (don't quote me) but the price is so affordable and their food isn't insanely expensive like other places. They have beers on tap and all kinds of sodas and white claws! I wasn't super hungry so I just shared some chicken strips and french fries. They make everything right there and it was actually really good! Will definitely need to try a burger next time! You can tell they remodeled so has a modern look but still had the old school vintage vibes. They have 8 tables, plenty of seating with tables to eat and chill and more seating in the bar area. Has a very homey feel which is nice to have a spot to just go shoot some pool, eat, drink and hangout. Great friendly service from local owners. read more

What an awesome spot! Super friendly with good beer on and great tables. My lady and I live in the neighborhood and just decided to pop on in, and George and Evette were super inviting as soon as we walked in the door. Served us some ice cold beers and had great conversation. Plenty of tvs in here for all the games and really nice, clean tables. I definitely recommend sliding through and hanging out for good vibes. read more

Had an awesome time at Westside with a couple of friends. They have a good selection of beers on tap and great staff. The place is nothing fancy, exactly what you'd expect a pool hall to be like. My only critique is that no one told us the rate for the table so when checking out later it was pretty surprising to see a higher tab than I expected. Overall, I'd come again! read more

Specialties

Westside Billiards has been open since 1943. Back in the day it was known as a cardroom. Family owned business since 1981. Now the father Dimitrios is passing the torch to his eldest son George and Wife Yvette and their 3 sons. In 1989 featured in a movie with Whoopie Goldberg called “Kiss shot”. Also home to the famous Westside Jalapeño burger. Newly renovated with 8 beers on draft and a variety of bottles to choose from.

Established in 1981.

My father in law Bought Westside Billiards in 1981, Covid happened and George & Yvette Tsaboukos Re-opened it in 2023 And has changed it up a bit! We are very laid back and want every one to have a safe and enjoyable time here at Westside Billiards! We work very hard to make sure that customer service is always in mind. Yvette has worked in the public eye in her career’s doing Salon Distributions, Realestate and from Managing the 24 hour fitness clubs in the 1980’s So come on down and say hello & play some pool!

I had an incredibly frustrating and unprofessional experience here tonight, specifically with a…read morestaff member named Tino. I was here playing in my APA league and we also got a practice table. At around 10pm a waitlist started to form, Tino came over to take our table away. We politely offered to just pay the regular hourly rate to keep it. He asked how many of us there were. When we said two, he visibly scoffed, acted like that wasn't enough, and told us we would have to pay the rate for four people if we wanted to keep the table. Then, he just took the table away from us anyway. Worse, when I was complaining to my teammates, he started yelling at me, complaining that we had the table for three hours, that his employee hadn't had lunch yet, and that we needed to give it up and get back on the waitlist. His entire attitude was aggressive, and he tried to make me feel like I was in the wrong for simply playing on a table we had legitimately secured. Later, when the league ended around 11pm, the double standard became painfully obvious. Tino came over specifically to shut down our league table, even though several other teams were still practicing on theirs. He completely ignored everyone else and specifically targeted us. I have been playing pool for nearly 20 years, currently shooting as an APA level 7, with a FargoRate of 568, and I know proper pool hall etiquette. I have never been kicked off a table, singled out, or spoken to this way by staff anywhere. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. Final words to 946: if you don't want the league to interrupt your business, just don't host it. If you choose to host it, treat the players nicely, as we are customers too.

The pool tables are always spotless, and the equipment is in perfect condition--you can tell they take real pride in maintaining everything at a high standard. What really sets this place apart, though, is the customer service. The staff is consistently friendly, attentive, and makes you feel welcome every time you walk in. Love everything about this place. Everyone is there to have a good time and is very nice and fun! I've been treated very nicely there and have yet to be treated anything under 5 stars! My favorite part is their music machine thingy, where you get to pay a little amount of money to play a song you like. They also got a wide menu of food and drinks, but I have yet to try any, but I'm sure they're great and would love to try some soon. Workers there are super genuine, nice, and cool. I've been looking for a place where I can just play pool, and when I went to this place, as a first time customer, I was very welcomed by the couple that runs the business. The aroma was very chill and the food they had was good as well. Service was also welcoming. If I ever want to play pool, this is the place I'll be coming to. I even took my son here and he enjoyed it, not only I had fun with my family but also had fun teaching my son how to play pool. read more

An old school pool hall with old school hospitality. The owners, George and Yvette are awesome. A very local joint with a distinct and loyal local crowd. If you're from San Jose, you need to support this business. I stop in today as a stranger from out of State but felt welcomed and right at home. We stopped in on a Tuesday evening around 8:00. The owners George & Yvette were super friendly and very welcoming. There were plenty of tables free and the bathroom was very clean. Will definitely be stopping by more often with friends. Very chill atmosphere with lots of games on the TVs and a nice table section for ordering food and drinks. Really glad to find this place! It has a great ambiance, starting with the vintage sign outside. It's vintage but not at all dingy. The stools at the bar have colored que ball numbers on the backs. amazing billiard spot, the place is pretty spacious, beer on tap , it's nice and fresh in there which is awesome I used to play at round 1 which is a sauna. Good people, great service, better food. They will take care of you, create an ambiance and make sure that it feels like home. There's parking on the street and the auto shop next door doesn't have no parking signs. Fries are for more than just you. No complaints just a good atmosphere. read more
