Staff was nice and we ordered for to go. Quick service as the wait was less than 15 min for 2 orders but overall quality of food was worse than mediocre & extremely disappointing. We were in the area for work and figured we stop by as we never had their food before. I'm also a manager at another restaurant but the food we received was super bland and lacking in any flavor or SALT. At first glance, it looks good with all the fresh ingredients they use but with the chicken being the main protein, it was really disappointing. We got the Tinga Tacos - the blue tortillas disintegrated and all the contents were falling out even though we ate it immediately in the car. The chicken tasted like regular boiled chicken with no seasoning. If there was some type of sauce, we would have understood why the tortillas were falling apart but it was just the chicken with red/tomato liquid and the veggies. The tomato liquid was bland as well - which I think the chicken was cooked in. This came with the side of Mexican corn which was bland & lacking salt as well. The cheese was also clumped/melted together and not like feta/crumbly cheese at all/not like what is shown in their menu photos. The starter of coconut shrimp we got was also soggy, too bready, and bland. The side of mashed potatoes was also watered down and lacking salt & butter - I would honestly prefer instant mashed potatoes. The only saving grace to this order was their Thai iced tea and blood orange lemonade. @Management - please do better at quality checking your food and actually having your BOH staff taste test the meals they make. Whether these are made per order or batch-made for the day - please taste your food before letting this go out for service. Again, I work in the food industry as well and I'm not expecting a high end experience but I would have gotten better tasting food & preferred to go to Chili's down the street or even a corner street taco booth - especially for the total price of all this - total was $68! We dined here tonight with our kids and a couple of dear friends, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. I was having such a great time that I completely forgot to photograph our food, or even catch the name of our server, which honestly says everything. Our server was truly fantastic: upbeat, attentive, and genuinely kind. He offered thoughtful and spot-on culinary recommendations, and everything arrived promptly and beautifully prepared. All six of us ordered different dishes, and every single person loved their meal. Our kids, who are usually hit-or-miss at restaurants, were surprisingly enthusiastic and happily finished their food, which is always a win in my book. This review is hard for me to write because it's hands-down the worst dining experience I've ever had! On a beautiful Sunday afternoon I thought I would treat myself to a meal and enjoy the sunshine. When the host brought me to the back patio, I noticed there were four tables that were not cleared yet. It looked like a mountain of garbage, and I asked if that was going to be soon taken care of. He assured me it would. I sat down ordered my meal, and I asked the waitress if it would be cleared... because this was 15 minutes later, and she said "oh yeah yeah it will." Another 20 minutes went by when my meal came. It still wasn't clear! I asked if somebody could bus the tables, because I wasn't comfortable eating surrounded by garbage and dirty plates. Still nothing happened for another 10 minutes, this is when the person who was supposed to bus the tables came off their break. This was an extraordinarily long break! And don't you clear a room before you break? During this whole time, I heard staff members pointing and talking about the situation, but nobody stepped up to do anything about it. The only person who seemed to care was the bartender, because I asked for a beverage... even though I wasn't sitting at the bar. I had to ask him for any help because the waitress was not visible throughout my service. I asked if they were under staffed that day. The response seemed to lean towards that there's mismanagement issues and people don't care about the jobs. It makes me wonder what the food preparation is like. If you are thinking of having a nice meal, go elsewhere, the Pacific Catch at Stanford is managed much better. I just cannot believe the experience I just had. Again, hands-down worst dining experience ever! Seems like they have a couple people who know what they're doing, but they don't have the power to make other people care or do their jobs. read more

We had a team lunch on the patio on Tuesday. The breeze was surprisingly chilly, so the staff turned on the overhead heaters, which helped a bit but some people were still cold. They all had short sleeves ‍ We were a party of seven not too big but bigger tables can present some challenges. The servers were generally polite and attentive, they were certainly patient as it took a while for people to figure out their orders. We used to order delivery from Pacific Catch a few times during the year, but always found the food to be slightly mediocre and there was almost always at least one mistake with the order. The entire team agreed that the freshness of the food at the restaurant was superior, and our expectations calamari was crispy, tortillas and buns were not soggy, and a few other differences you would expect between eating on site and delivery. I went with the Chiraga (sp?), tuna three ways. The flavors were on point, and well each style of tuna was vastly different than the other, they played together nicely. I normally get their pokey and guacamole bowl, which I love, but I'll definitely be back for this. I topped it off with a tiki old-fashioned. We booked a large reservation (25 people) for the patio during happy hour. Upon arrival, Roxanna introduced herself and let us know she would be taking care of our group. She was fantastic. I've been eating here since they opened 10+ years ago (pre-remodel), and I still really like them! They check a lot of boxes for me: healthy, tasty, fair pricing, convenient (app-based ordering + easy parking). What's not to like? I was lucky the first thing I ordered back in the day, the Japanese Wasabi Bowl, is still one of my favorites. Now it's probably a 3-way tie with the Mexican Grill Bowl (picture from today), and the Miso Black Cod Entree (one of their Fresh Catch choices) -- both are not *recent* additions, but they are newer. I also genuinely like their brussels sprouts -- heavy on the basalmic vinegar, so avoid if that's not something you'd enjoy. IIRC, back in the day, a Japanese Wasabi Bowl was $16 or $17, you could pick what you like for the base (greens, rice, brown rice, 1/2 and 1/2), pick the fish/protein, and get an extra protein for $5. Now, over a decade later, the standard-size bowls are $22 and most of the extra proteins are $7, which I consider a very reasonable increase, less than the local average. I also don't think their portions have shrunk. More, they've expanded their menu, and you can easily order off their app. I finally scratched an itch today bc they sometimes have $8 off their bowls on rainy days, and I almost never see their email/text until the next day, or I'll see it but already have plans. Today there was a fair bit of rain, and I was going to be close by and had already resigned myself to getting wet! So a convenient and welcome side quest. :) I included screenshots of ordering via their app. One thing I noticed was that even though shrimp and sea bass are priced the same as add-ons, the app doesn't provide an option to swap shrimp for sea bass as the primary protein. I could have called in my order instead, but I was in a rush and just picked salmon instead. I have buckets of salad greens at home so I went with all brown rice, whereas if I were eating in the restaurant, I'd go 1/2 greens 1/2 brown rice. Et voila! A perfectly healthy and enjoyable meal for $8 off what was already a fair price for the quality, freshness, and portion size! I only realized afterward that they forgot the small bag of house-made tortilla chips that comes with their Mexican bowl. Actually, while those are delicious, leaving them out only makes the meal healthier, plus I finally got the rainy-day discount! 6/8/24 Zach, Coco and I were at a nearby event for dogs and decided to go to Pacific Catch for lunch. We were able to get patio seating right away when we checked in with the host. Here's what we got for lunch: - fresh catch: striped sea bass with asian herb chimichurri sauce; came with 2 sides: thai brussels and kimchi fried rice (his) - original ahi poke (mine) Our waitress that day was very friendly. She got Coco a water bowl and brought her fried salmon skins. Of course Coco loved it, but I should have moderated how much she ate because she had diarrhea the next day. Unfortunately, I had diarrhea from the food as well, but at the time it tasted good! Our food came out in 15 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised by how much food was on the plate. I definitely had leftovers that day. In contrast, Zach thought his fish was on the smaller side, but he said it tasted good. The kimchi fried rice and brussels tasted fine. Went here for dinner with a few coworkers and enjoyed it! We started with a few apps: coconut shrimp and guaca-poke. Both were great! The menu said 5 shrimp per serving, but we definitely had a few extra thrown on our plate which was nice. The Thai chili sauce with the shrimp was delish. The poke in the guac was so good I had to get it for my main: the Japanese wasabi original ahi poke. The bowl was giant, not sure how anyone could finish in one sitting! It was such a great mix of different flavors and textures that all blends together so well, what more could you want from a poke bowl! Their menu is huge, there were so many things I wanted to try. Not only was the food great, but they were running a promotion that all wine bottles were half off. Not sure if that's a recurring thing, but we were there on a Tuesday. Joná, the manager, was super attentive, paid attention to details to elevate the ambiance (from white tablecloths to the buffet food served on stoneware platters rather than foil trays), and made sure all was going smoothly She and the server Angela, made it easy for the hosts to enjoy the event as they took care of the food and service. Truly excellent. Our son, who lives in the area, brought us here for my birthday. The menu, apparently a seasonal selection of the options at their website, is a nice fusion of options, ranging from sushi to burgers, with many choices in between. My grilled shrimp tacos had a nice kick without being overly spicy, and the black beans and miso dressing house salad were delicious. Son's "surf and surf" lobster and salmon were good, though lobster was a little chewy, maybe slightly overcooked. The sides of seasoned mashed potatoes and broccolini spears were good, with some spice (chili flakes?) in the vegetable. My husband, who would live on salmon if he could, loved the tempura salmon-avocado roll, wrapped in sashimi. And his side order of sweet potato fries was uniquely good, with a sweet dip that paired beautifully with them. Our server perfectly timed when to check in, including not semi-forgetting us when we asked for a few more minutes before ordering (an all-to-common occurrence IME). I'm still thinking about the Korean BBQ steak entrée I ordered from Pacific Catch during my trip to the Bay! I really wish they had a location in New Orleans. I ordered via Uber Eats and everything arrived hot, sealed, and packaged well. The steak and Brussels sprouts were cooked just right--tender, flavorful, and easy to cut through. I also ordered the mint & lime "nojito," which was refreshing and sealed well, plus a brownie for dessert. Worth every penny! Heads up: There's a $2 CA Driver Benefits fee on Uber Eats orders. See photo attached if you'd like to learn more about what the fee covers. I loved it so much I reordered the same thing on my last day, but unfortunately that second order was cold, messy, and didn't hit the same. I couldn't finish it. I came here the other night with some coworkers after work. I'd never heard of it, but it does somewhat give me the vibe of California Fish Grill but a notch higher because of the wait service and extended menu. That's the best way I can explain it. This is a casual dining spot, but this past Tuesday they stated that we were supposed to make reservations but they could seat a party of three. And so we were seated. There were a couple of things that really caught my eye, like the clam udon with miso broth, shiitake mushrooms, soft tofu and scallion. The salmon burger with avocado also caught my eye, but the grilled salmon chowder won. When the chowder came the salmon was chopped up inside of it. Still delicious nonetheless, but I was hoping for a small fillet placed on top. This was a savory dish, served with four slices of grilled bread. I'd have liked to savor the salmon more, but for a low price of $13.50 for the bowl, it was a good amount of salmon included. Overall this is an affordable spot for a lunch/dinner. Parking was wild though! We arrived around 6:15. I didn't bother going into the garage and instead parked across the street in the 24 Hour Fitness lot. That lot was a extremely packed, too, with several cars waiting for others to back out so they could pull in. I lucked up, but just something to be aware of. read more

The ambiance on the patio is amazing! There are heaters in the winter that genuinely keep it room remperature or warmwr and in the summer they have fans to keep it cool. Came here on a Friday at around 12:30 pm with my coworkers (who have now become more so friends!). There are spots to park on the street, but they were all full, so we parked at the Kohl's nearby and walked on over, ready to eat. We waited 5 minutes for them to accommodate our group of 9. I ordered the taco platter with crispy Alaskan cod and a side of black beans. You can choose between a house salad, fries, chips and salsa -- my personal pick. The cod was excellently battered, and tasted very fresh and tender. Paired with the sauce on top, it was absolutely delicious! My friend ordered the Mexican Grill with seared chile-lime shrimp, which is essentially a rice bowl with brown rice, corn, guac, pico, cheese, cilantro, and tortilla chips. She enjoyed the freshness of the bowl and kept saying that the flavors were melting in her mouth. She cleared the bowl and loved the sauce ratio. To quote, "they weren't skimpy with the shrimp." All my other friends also cleared their plates, showing their satisfaction with the flavors.
