This is long overdue--I've been going to Sushiko for months now. The food has always been spot on with pretty consistent quality, which I consider a win since I order to-go. The sashimi has felt fresh and is never oddly fishy. The lunch bento is filling, and I'd say good value. My go to order though is a Dragon Roll with some miso soup. The Hawaiian Poke is also really good--they've kindly made it not spicy for me. I've only eaten in a few times, but there generally seems to be no wait around lunch. Loving the interior! The restaurant was noticeably very clean. I actually appreciate how for once a sushi restaurant is brightly lit instead of being super dim. The wall decor is a 3D mount Fuji and even the painting on the door is of a crane. Very beautiful and thoughtful. The food itself is just as impressive. 2/28/2024 Sushiko 4546 El Camino Real Ste A4 Los Altos, CA 94022 We went there for lunch on a Wed around noon. It's in the Village Court plaza at the corner of ECR and San Antonio Rd. The store front faces San Antonio Rd. with parking around the periphery of the shops. Not too many people when we got there and it starting filling up while we dined. Probably no need for reservations. It's a booth and table layout with a smallish sushi bar. They didn't have calamari. Wifey had the stir fried seafood udon and I had the lunch special Bento Box with Saba Shioyaki and mixed Tempura. My Miso soup was thick, flavorful and had some Wakame but no diced tofu, just okay. The udon had a good selection of seafood, including mussels and shrimp. My Saba was juicy and tasty, with some edible pin bones. The mixed tempura was hot and included two sweet shrimp with assorted vegetables having a crunchy and slightly greasy breading. The salad had a mayo dressing and just okay, no sesame or soy flavors. The menu is extensive with sushi, bento and udon selections. The service was good, even with just a single server. The lunch special bento box is a good value. Beautiful restaurant, very well-lit, fast service, great prices, and a commitment to being authentic with an amazing selection of nigiri. Try their Sushi Master combo with a green iced tea. Remember to cleanse your palate between bites with the tea and the provided ginger, and to gently pick up nigiri with horizontal chopsticks so they don't implode in your hand. I'm in this area fairly often (I get weekly acupuncture treatments at Annie Wang acupuncture nearby), and am excited to try their full menu over time. The duo that run the restaurant (who come off as brother/sister or a young couple) are also quite sweet. Came her for dinner on a Monday night and really enjoyed our meal. We got there around 6:30 and found ample parking in the lot. My boyfriend got a large Sapporo and we shared the Titanic, cucumber avocado roll, salmon avocado roll, and salmon scallion roll. We loved everything we got and the fish tasted delicious and fresh. We came here for a quick lunch, and we were shown to our seats right away. The restaurant is located in an outdoor mall called Village Court with plenty of restaurants to choose from. It is across the street from Chef Chu's, a very iconic Chinese restaurant which has been around over 40 years. The servers at Sushiko were really nice, good looking, and they took our orders and requests right away. The food was delicious and we enjoyed eating the healthy omega-3 sushi and sashimi. This place is great! I worked the near the location and wanted to get some sushi but I notice a lot of the places prices were fairly high. Even the places that don't look as high quality over priced some of the items. Thankfully I stumbled accords this restaurant, now I come here when I need my sushi fix during or after work. Daily decent size but limited seating. Not sure how crazy busy it gets but I usually come in week in the evenings and always gets seated. The staff are super friendly and the regulars seem to enjoy their company. The place is super clean and they even have pillows on their chairs for that extra comfort. Food is always great though I'm usually getting their tempura diner plate which I must say is plated much more than other places I've been to. NOTE: DOORDASH TAKEOUT REVIEW. Between all the different types of nigiri I tried, it was all visibly great quality fish. I wouldn't say there was anything that needed to be changed, but the only one that gave me a, "wow, that's GOOD" factor was the hamachi. Hamachi Nigiri (9.5/10). The fish was uniformly super smooth throughout, with just a tiny bit of fat on the end to give it a variance in texture. Scallop Nigiri (9/10). It's rare that I like scallop, and this piece was super smooth, as well as subtly sweet. Not tough at all and a melt-in-your-mouth feeling, having the same smoothness as the hamachi. Squid Nigiri (9/10). The cuts were perfect in size and there was just enough bounce in the bite, but without needing to take multiple bites to chew through as often needed for squid. Rainbow Dragon (7/10). The imitation crab meat on the inside wasn't rough or dry, like some other places I've been. While this roll didn't really have any twists on it, if I were passing through the area, pretty hungry, and wanted to get something I knew tasted good and fill me up, I'd be happy to grab this roll. I'd say overall, pretty good. It's not a place that I would drive miles for or crave to come back on the regular, but if I'm looking for some high quality sushi, I would be happy to reorder. read more

However, we attempted to patronize this local place right as they opened on a Monday, but were turned away because we were with our infant and a stroller. According to the policy, no strollers allowed. There were no other customers, and despite us offering suggestions on how we could minimally disrupt their space, the waiter/host was more intent on ensuring future customers had the most convenient access experience. I ordered a 2 item bento box with beef teriyaki and agedashi tofu. I also ordered salmon and hamachi nigiri on the side. The nigiri sushi came first and the fish was very fresh and cut well. Very good. Then the bento box came which also included salad. The beef was very thin. The teriyaki sauce was watery and lacked flavor. The tempura sauce that they use for the agedashi tofu also lacked flavor. If I returned, I would stick with the sushi. read more

We just moved to the area earlier this year and stumbled upon Sushiko when swinging by to pickup some boba at Teaspoon... boy are we glad we did! It's quickly become our new fav spot. The sushi is great quality for the price and they work fast - whether dining in or taking out, we're always served quickly and efficiently which is a mandatory with a young infant in the family. The main reason why I'm giving this restaurant one star is because their service was absolutely terrible. It looks like a husband and wife owner. The waitresses/wife was rude about our baby being a high in the aisle. Then her husband comes over and lectures us and states that he is the owner. Like that matters. I said if there's a problem we could leave and he changed his tune quick. Food wasn't even that great. But I think a restaurant should try to make their customers comfortable and they didn't care. A very solid sushi restaurant with very affordable specialty rolls. All of the rolls that we ordered had a wonderful balance between the fish, the sauce, and the rice. All of the seafood were served very fresh. We were particularly fond of the salmon and the unagi. The butterfish was a bit chewy, but the scallop was cooked to perfection. This is one of those places that I know I'll be a regular at. Sushiko does a great job of providing good portions for the dishes I've tried. The chirashi, salmon lover and bento boxes are all so good. Portions are big enough where you'll either be super full or you can eat some for lunch the next day! I was absolutely surprised by the quality of food at sushiko. I went in, expecting a mediocre sushi experience, like the one you would expect at a non-hype Bay area sushi place. But nope. The food they serve is amazing. Baked sushi rolls are pretty common. But they are rarely executed right. Usually, it has lobster, crawfish or scallops with a fish and baked in a foil. This makes the roll soggy as heck. Not at sushiko! The Salmon/Scallop baked combo go so well together and they manage to keep it non-soggy. Hands down the best baked roll I've ever had! They also had the more traditional, boxed-sushi. Again, amazing; and pretty rare here. The unagi hand roll, which I use to judge the quality of any sushi place, was done just right. Another standout food for me here was the tempura sweet potato roll. Just so unique and just so good. Definitely get that if you go here. Now the most surprising dish for me here was the yakisoba! The only reason we got it was cause we wanted something hot to go with all the sushi we were eating and these noodles were a sleeper hit. The noodles in the dish were just so fluffy and taut. It was just so perfect. My only complaint? Not enough noodles. Too much veggie. We were digging for noodles through the chicken and veggies by the end. The noodle was the absolute star.
