We mainly do takeout but there is fairly ample seating with fun music in the background. The interior was decorated festively with Christmas decor and they were playing contemporary Christmas songs. Exceptional food and incredible service. It is small and quaint. I tend to like simple rolls without too much sauce where you can really taste the individual ingredients in the roll. I told the friend that- but even still the rolls all had a lot of sauce. I probably should have been more assertive in the ordering process- but since he said it was his favorite place and he had been there a ton, I figured he would know what was good. Let's start off by saying we came 30 minutes before this restaurant closed. All the staff was friendly and encouraged us to do takeout (which we were already planning). Our food was prepared quickly and packaged well. We had all the essentials that we needed; soy sauce, ginger and wasabi + napkins. Let's get to the food... there were almost too many options to decide from but the ones we picked were super tasty. My friend and I both got different dishes so we could sample from each other. I will need to go back to try more and would recommend this place to anyone in the area! The service from Joy Sushi was exceptional with the servers bringing a familial vibe in the restaurant. One of the servers even helped me learn how to use my chopsticks. Overall great service. The ambiance was great as well, though there wasn't LOADS of seating. The interior was very nice with lots of decorations and on the inside you could see a lot of the action happening which was cool. The food itself was GREAT. I got the Unagi Donburi which was an eel dish. The dish came with a bomb unagi sauce that tasted a little like a zesty thicker teriyaki which complemented the fattiness of the eel amazingly. The dish was the perfect portion for me to finish in the restaraunt and be full. The dish also interestingly came with some orange savory fish roe that popped. The eel was SO tasty. It was a little fatty and very tender with no overfishy taste emanating. It was overall an amazing dish that came with lots of rice. The dessert was a little less appetizing. We got strawberry and mango mochi which was ok. It tasted like one of the Trader Joe's mochi, but the presentation was beautiful and the price wasn't exorbitant. Overall Joy Sushi is a must try it provides plenty of good sushi and other entrees like my unagi donburi if sushi isn't your thing. However, the tables were full again about 10 minutes later. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento. This is my go-to order when I go out for sushi and add a roll on the side. I didn't take a picture of it but the lion k roll was amazing. This restaurant is quite small but they also having seating right outside. If you come during lunch hours when it's completely packed, you will have to take your food to-go or wait until a spot opens up. The waiter was awesome and came over to check on us a few times. At the end of our meal, he gifted us 2 probiotic drinks to send us off. I'm not sure if that's the norm here, but it definitely boosted my spirits. Such a solid sushi spot with great service! It's a small location but there are plenty of tables both indoor and outdoor. They give you free miso soup once you sit. The only thing is that we did have to kill some time since they don't open for dinner until 5:00. So we just hung out in the area before they opened. The restaurant is located in a really small plaza and the parking is pretty limited since it's shared with other businesses. They're located more in the back of the plaza which is easy to miss since there's a small building within the plaza that slightly blocks the restaurant. We're glad we got there when they opened! Once we sat down, we noticed that 2 tables had "Reserved" signs on them! We were actually asking if we could sit at a different table away from the door because we were cold, but the tables further away from the door were Reserved already. The waitress was very nice though! She noticed we were cold so she gave us some hot tea and hot miso soup on the house! So sweet of her! We ordered a few different rolls and a chicken teriyaki bento. The rolls were very good and the chicken teriyaki was really good too! It did take a while for our food to come out since the whole restaurant was packed but I think it was worth the wait since our food was really good! Since our first visit, we've come back 3 times! My main suggestion would be to arrive right as the restaurant opens or make a reservation. Since the place is small, there aren't very many tables and you'll end up waiting outside there's not much room to wait inside. But I highly recommend coming here! read more

When the check came, we didn't receive the normal probiotic drink (similar to Yakult) that other tables received. It was very obvious we were the only table without it, and we have gotten it in the past, so I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be complimentary. My sister likes them so she asked the waitress for them, and the waitress did not sound happy saying she'll bring them to us. The wife ordered the 49'ers Roll and I had the Saba Shioyaki and Tempura Bento. My mackerel was flavorful and juicy. The tempura had a crispy panko crust and the vegetables still had a nice firmness.
