The concept brought to the Bay Area by these guys despite the world having other options and places. The Bay Area has Anton. We recently purchased a Hokkaido cake from here, and I can say without a doubt, the taste is unmistakeable. For those of you that have not tried it, they offer little slices as well. Anton is definitely a splurge--I was honestly surprised the pricing is on par with Lady M--but the quality absolutely backs it up. If Lady M is richer and creamier, Anton is lighter, more delicate, and more creative. The flavor profiles feel more thoughtful and modern, without being fussy. The Hokkaido Milk Crepe Cake is unreal and may be the best crepe cake I've had. Ultra-thin layers, perfectly balanced sweetness, and tiny chocolate pearls hidden inside that add just enough texture and surprise. Subtle, elegant, and memorable. First time trying Anton's, such a good impression! Great service, small clean space. The menu is very simple, just drinks and pastries. We tried the drink and pastry combo, and at $13.95 I have to say it has much better value exchange than similar offerings like Lady M. We got the iced oolong tea, which is freshly brewed, and the Hokkaido milk crepe cake, which was delicious - not too sweet, great level of creamy, and the crunchy bits of chocolate between layers was an excellent add to texture. We've known this place since before it opened at Stanford. But we felt it was expensive and didn't see the need to buy. But for our son's birthday we said why not and went in and the attendant patiently introduced their crepe cake to us and we decided on the multi flavors combo cake where you select up to 5 different flavors and the store will arrange the individual slices into a complete, round cake! Everyone loved it! Each bite was delicate and full of flavors. I took a small piece and noticed how many thin layers of crepes made up the cake and appreciated what they told us about how labor intensive it is to make the cake. This was my first time trying crepe cake at Anton. The server was super friendly and gave an overview of all the flavors along with those that she recommended to us, and we ended up choosing the Black Sesame flavor. Though the cake itself was slightly dry and not as creamy as I expected, the black sesame flavor was balanced and not too sweet. The cold brews were both on the nuttier side and pairs well with the sweetness of the crepe cake. During the holidays, there was a 10% discount on buying both a pastry and drink. I've passed by this place a few times since they recently opened. My friend and I thought we should try it. The place is pretty small but there is seating outside. Selection looked limited but the flavors of everything sounded good. Hokkaido Milk crepe cake (3.5/5): This was good but nothing special. This was my first time having a crepe cake. Texture was okay. The cream was good. I probably wouldn't come back since this isn't much of a casual dessert spot. It is pricey. My all time favorite place for a cappuccino and slice of cake! It's such a cute place where all desserts and pastries are displayed. This is hands down the best coffee place at the Stanford shopping center. Don't believe me? Try it yourself! The staff is so nice! If you get a coffee/tea and a slice of cake you get 10% off! Eh. This place is just ok; nothing eye-catching really. There's a limited amount of pastries to choose from and they're all regular like croissant, simple cake slices, etc. Not to mention, the shop itself is small in size so be prepared to grab-n-go. I wanted to try their crepe cake slice which was $12. This slice was pricey, but I understand because of the intensive labor that goes into it. I had the Hokkaido milk tea flavor which was good but tasted like sweet milk and nothing else other than the small bits of chocolate crunch. The pistachio flavor crepe cake was subtly and really light in flavor as well. I wouldn't go back for these. I paired my dessert with espresso from Stumptown. This is probably my only favorite thing here is their Stumptown coffee. Everything else is just regular and basic. I won't be coming back. read more

Very happy to have Anton open at the Stanford Shopping Center. It is almost right across Laderach, so prepare for a load of sugar if you do visit both. Only taking one star off because not infrequently, items get sold out, and are unavailable. Service has always been friendly. I especially love their rose macaron (also my kid's favorite) - the cream center is delightful. The crepe cakes are nice too, but I don't think I particularly care for crepe cakes. We had Anton Pâtisserie cakes at our gala and they were such a hit! Not only were they absolutely beautiful (the kind of cakes you stop to take a picture of before eating), but the taste was just as amazing. Light, fluffy, and not too sweet -- everyone kept going back for seconds. What I love most is that their cakes fit any occasion... classy enough for a gala, but honestly I'd order them for birthdays or just a special treat at home too. Update: I did return and still no chai lattes. After waiting for two other customers to be served, we were informed. One would expect items on the menu to have the capability to be made. Return now is unfortunately unlikely. It seems like every time I'm at Stanford Shopping Center a new place has opened. Recently, it was Anton, located in the old Gourmet Franks spot. I was completely unfamiliar with the Anton world but after walking by it two times and needing the afternoon pick me up, it was going to tick a few boxes. The space is bright, modern, and attractive. One of the first things noticed was no posted pricing, coffee menu included. We were informed that their specialty was the crepe cake. It was afternoon and some of the flavors, like tiramisu, were sold out. I opted for pain a chocolat and an Americano. The menu listed chai lattes and my shopping companions would have ordered, but they didn't have whatever mix was needed to make them. It was explained in a peculiar way instead of what I assumed was the real situation--they had only been open for 2 day and it was likely an opening hiccup. I was asked if I wanted my pain au chocolat "for here" or "to go", being informed that they package things differently for "for here" orders. We did want to sit at one of the tables outside. When all was said and done I was handed a cute little tray. I didn't even see them heating the pastry up, but I was very appreciative and impressed that it was just done as an automatic. The pain a chocolat was exceptionally delicious. The pastry was buttery, soft and flaky. The chocolate was extraordinarily rich but somehow not too overwhelming. They opened a new location in Stanford shopping center so I took a look inside. I saw crepe cake slices and pastries. The pastries are from Manresa but the crepe cake is baked in house so I decided to try those. I got the black sesame and hokkaido milk. Both were very finely made and easy to cut through for a bite. The black sesame tasted exactly like black sesame and the crepe vs cream ratio was perfectly balanced. The hokkaido milk had some nuts or crunch in them and tasted great, not too sweet. Overall, I think this is better than other comparable crepe cakes and price is similar. I would definitely go back. read more

Amazing crepe cakes! I've tried tiramisu, black sesame, and Musang King durian. The tiramisu and black sesame are creamy and not too sweet. If you love durian, you have to get the Musang King! It's on a different level - creamy with chunks of durian. I would eat this every day if I could! Note: you have to pre-order the durian crepe. I've been buying from Anton since 2022.
