Was craving something sweet after a rough day and came across a lot of glowing reviews for Anton. Unfortunately didn't come away feeling the same as the many 4-5 star reviews on Yelp. The Anton location in the mall is only takeaway, so you just order at the counter and go. They do provide a very pretty and well-constructed cardboard tray with a napkin/utensil holder built in if you tell them you're eating at one of the patio tables. Very thoughtful! We had a slice of their best seller, the Hokkaido milk charcoal crepe, which cost $12/slice. Simply put, the crepe was just too dry and overcooked. I personally look for crepe texture to be a little QQ (soft, but with some bite) and this was borderline rubbery. The skin also wasn't smooth: you could even see all the bubbles that formed. Cream was okay, nothing special or particularly "Hokkaido" about it; I've had dairy in Hokkaido and this didn't have any of the richness I remember. The little crunchy chocolate-covered wafer balls were a net negative to the experience. The sweetness of the chocolate was way too overpowering for how delicate the cream was, and I did not like the crunchy texture in the context of a crepe cake at all. read more

Yes it's delicious but is it worth $12 for a small slice? I've had delicious fancy cake and Anton ranks right up there. The crepes are an interesting concept. You can tell the mango and cream are fresh. But again I'm stuck at $12 for a very small piece. It feels inflated to me. $8 is a fair price but I think $12 might be for that boutique upcharge at a store with a very high rent to pay. The service was very friendly. Went in one morning to try some slices of crepe cake for my moms birthday. We were greeted very kindly by the owner Anthony, he was incredibly sweet and shared a bit of his story/shop and what flavors they offered. We ended up getting Pistachio and Tiramisu crepe cake slices and we ended up ordering an 8 inch Hokkaido Milk crepe cake for the birthday dinner later that night We loved the crepe cake slices they were so delicious, we ate them there and Anthony was very sweet in offering us some water and making sure we were enjoying ourselves. When I went to pick up the cake later that day, the employee was also incredibly sweet and overall the place had a very good happy welconing vibe and was very clean The Hokkaido Milk crepe cake was heavenly! It was very unique then any birthday cake we've gotten before but our guests, my family and I loved it! We tried the drink and pastry combo, and at $13.95 I have to say it has much better value exchange than similar offerings like Lady M. We got the iced oolong tea, which is freshly brewed, and the Hokkaido milk crepe cake, which was delicious - not too sweet, great level of creamy, and the crunchy bits of chocolate between layers was an excellent add to texture. We've known this place since before it opened at Stanford. But we felt it was expensive and didn't see the need to buy. But for our son's birthday we said why not and went in and the attendant patiently introduced their crepe cake to us and we decided on the multi flavors combo cake where you select up to 5 different flavors and the store will arrange the individual slices into a complete, round cake! Everyone loved it! Each bite was delicate and full of flavors. I took a small piece and noticed how many thin layers of crepes made up the cake and appreciated what they told us about how labor intensive it is to make the cake. There's a limited amount of pastries to choose from and they're all regular like croissant, simple cake slices, etc. Not to mention, the shop itself is small in size so be prepared to grab-n-go. I wanted to try their crepe cake slice which was $12. This slice was pricey, but I understand because of the intensive labor that goes into it. I had the Hokkaido milk tea flavor which was good but tasted like sweet milk and nothing else other than the small bits of chocolate crunch. The pistachio flavor crepe cake was subtly and really light in flavor as well. I wouldn't go back for these. I paired my dessert with espresso from Stumptown. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I feel other customers should know. I visited Anton SV Pâtisserie at Stanford Shopping Center with my grandson after trying one of their samples outside. I enjoyed it and went inside to purchase several desserts. My total purchase was about $80. I specifically ordered two tiramisu desserts because I wanted to split them between my wife and daughter-in-law. The employee repeatedly tried to convince me to buy a sesame dessert instead. I politely declined several times and made it clear that I wanted two tiramisu. She then told me, "I only have one tiramisu right now. If you can wait a few minutes, I'll make you a second one." I replied, "That's fine, I'll wait." I waited approximately eight minutes while she prepared what I believed was the second tiramisu. Since I had waited specifically for that second tiramisu and the boxes were already closed, I had no reason to suspect the order was wrong and did not open them before leaving. When I got home, I discovered that instead of receiving the two tiramisu I had waited for, I had been given one tiramisu and one sesame dessert--the very dessert I had repeatedly said I did not want. Given our conversation and the fact that I waited specifically for the second tiramisu, this did not feel like a simple oversight. I also asked that the desserts be packed into two separate boxes. That request was ignored. Four delicate pastries were packed tightly into one box without dividers or support, while the mango desserts were placed in a separate box. The employee instructed me to carry the bag from the bottom, which I did. I placed it carefully on the floor of my truck and drove directly home. The bag was never dropped or mishandled. When I lifted it by the handles to carry it into my house, both cardboard handle tabs tore off simultaneously, causing the box to fall. The attached photos clearly show the failed packaging and the crushed desserts. For an $80 purchase, I expected the order to be prepared correctly and the packaging to be strong enough to get the desserts home safely. I hope management takes this review seriously. Beautiful pastries deserve customer service that listens to customers and packaging that protects the product. Very happy to have Anton open at the Stanford Shopping Center. It is almost right across Laderach, so prepare for a load of sugar if you do visit both. Only taking one star off because not infrequently, items get sold out, and are unavailable. Service has always been friendly. I especially love their rose macaron (also my kid's favorite) - the cream center is delightful. The crepe cakes are nice too, but I don't think I particularly care for crepe cakes. I was completely unfamiliar with the Anton world but after walking by it two times and needing the afternoon pick me up, it was going to tick a few boxes. The space is bright, modern, and attractive. One of the first things noticed was no posted pricing, coffee menu included. We were informed that their specialty was the crepe cake. It was afternoon and some of the flavors, like tiramisu, were sold out. I opted for pain a chocolat and an Americano. The menu listed chai lattes and my shopping companions would have ordered, but they didn't have whatever mix was needed to make them. It was explained in a peculiar way instead of what I assumed was the real situation--they had only been open for 2 day and it was likely an opening hiccup. I was asked if I wanted my pain au chocolat "for here" or "to go", being informed that they package things differently for "for here" orders. We did want to sit at one of the tables outside. When all was said and done I was handed a cute little tray. I didn't even see them heating the pastry up, but I was very appreciative and impressed that it was just done as an automatic. The pain a chocolat was exceptionally delicious. The pastry was buttery, soft and flaky. The chocolate was extraordinarily rich but somehow not too overwhelming. They opened a new location in Stanford shopping center so I took a look inside. I saw crepe cake slices and pastries. The pastries are from Manresa but the crepe cake is baked in house so I decided to try those. I got the black sesame and hokkaido milk. Both were very finely made and easy to cut through for a bite. The black sesame tasted exactly like black sesame and the crepe vs cream ratio was perfectly balanced. The hokkaido milk had some nuts or crunch in them and tasted great, not too sweet. Overall, I think this is better than other comparable crepe cakes and price is similar. I would definitely go back. read more

Stumbled upon Anton's when I was shopping at Stanford Mall recently. My family loves crepe cakes but not everyone makes them the right way so we decided to give them a try. Amazing crepe cakes! I've tried tiramisu, black sesame, and Musang King durian. The tiramisu and black sesame are creamy and not too sweet. If you love durian, you have to get the Musang King! It's on a different level - creamy with chunks of durian. I would eat this every day if I could! Note: you have to pre-order the durian crepe. I've been buying from Anton since 2022.
