Wanpo Milk Tea with boba pearls added
    Steven K.

Wanpo Tea offers Taiwanese tea with whimsical drink descriptions such as Black Ginger Sugar Infusion (The north remembers) and Ginger Milk Tea (Winter is coming), and the moment I saw the taglines I was hooked. When I walked into the tea shop, I noticed how light and airy the room was. Customers chatted and sipped tea at the tables and chairs placed around the tea room, tins of tea lined one wall, and the room was accented with wood and imperial red. Like the drinks and their descriptions, the room straddled the line between casual and traditional. I got the Wanpo Milk Tea (His cup is second only to itself) with boba added in. The tea was robust, with a delicious hint of tannins and bitterness; it was sophisticated, bold, and straightforward as black tea should be. The dairy-free creamer paired well with the tea, blending smoothness and luxuriousness into the drink. The boba offered a tease of sugar; firm yet chewy, demure yet sweet, it elevated my milk tea from simple and smooth to cultured and stylish. I enjoyed my Wanpo Milk Tea, and it's solidly on my list of tea houses to visit again.

Wanpo is a new boba tea shop at the far corner of Main Street. The place is clean but the decorations look sort of fake. The service is fast and friendly and, unlike many neighboring boba shops, this place has no lines or crowds. The boba is good and the taro milk was fresh and flavorful. It wasn't too sweet which I appreciated. Also this place has a good value as a huge boba tea is about $7. Many other shops are almost $10 now.

This place is pretty spacious with quite a lot of seating inside. Their Plum Green Tea is excellent. The plum flavor is strong. The drink is sweet and salty, and also refreshing. Service is fast too. Got my drink sooner than expected. Will come back and try other drinks.

We always get the starfruit juice and smoked plum tea here. The starfruit juice is just the right amount of sweet, and the smoked plum tea has a strong, distinct smoky taste. We haven't tried the other items on the menu yet, but these two are great.

I got green tea with yellow jelly (feng guo). I come here for the toppings mostly because their tea isn't as strong as I prefer. If you're drinking for the tea, I would recommend Ten Ren or TpTea instead. I like that their yellow jelly is in bigger pieces instead of small like Tea Top's. Order ahead using snackpass and earn rewards! Service is always fast. A good amount of seating with a couple couches as well.

Personally the two drinks I had here were great. The plum drink had a nice kick to it if your into that type of plum flavor. While the Wanpo Tea was fantastic, it was creamy and not too sweet. I did enjoy their tea flavor quite a bit. There was a self serving kiosk and we got a drinks pretty fast The interior was quite nice and minimal. Felt like a tea shop with a working space. I would come again if I'm in the area.

I took a chance on the plum green tea and I think it's pretty tasty! It was my first time here but I wanted to try something I haven't had before, so in hindsight I think I did a pretty good job with the sweetness, and ice ratios. It was a pretty strong flavor so 50% sweetness was perfect, and anything higher than that would be overwhelmingly sweet. The shop had a nice sofa that we sat on while waiting for our drinks. I'd say the drinks took about 10 minutes to come out but it was pretty crowded when we went, so that might be why. There were also two private bathrooms available without a code to enter. The indoor seating was clean and the outdoor patio was also very nice. Overall, would come back to try more drinks!

One of the best milk tea places in the Bay Area. Tastes exactly like the milk tea I had in Taiwan. Their ingredients are from Taiwan, no wonder they have the best tastes. It's my first time try it but I love it already. I'll definitely come back.

Pretty convenient location being at the end of Cupertino Main Street. They have online order and customer only parking in front of their store so that makes ordering and pickup easier. The store is decent size with some seatings and decorations. I got the coconut purple rice taro milk and it's really filling. It's filled with taro paste, boba, taro ball?, and purple rice. Taste great and the boba and purple rice are really chewy.

Has unique drinks. Pretty popular d/t proximity to apple campus. I like the tapioca special because I like all kinds of chewy things. The grass jelly drink was sweet and quite grass jelly tasting. The boba is a bit hard. Not sure why but my friends black milk tea boba also had a grass jelly taste but the milk tea is pretty basic. It can add up to $7-8 with toppings. Spacious bathrooms, limited seating but not cramped and fast pick up

I really wanted to like this place from all the reviews I'd heard but sadly, it was just alright. I usually get 50% sweet in most boba shops and I like how that tastes. I asked for the same here but it just didn't taste good to me. It was way less flavourful than I expected. The boba was also not the best, I've definitely had better ones. Brownie points for their vibe though. I did see many people enjoying their drinks so check them out I guess?! Maybe you will have a different experience than I did.

i think wanpo is so underrated! i love their drinks and the shop is super cute and nice to hang out in. their menu is pretty vast with lots of taiwanese drinks. drinks didn't take too long to come out since it wasn't busy. would definitely return + recommend!

    Not good at all!
    Mimi L.

Their milk tea tasted odd, stale and water downed. It was imbalanced between milk and tea. The ratio was way off in the drink and the oolong tea part tasted old and not fresh. As a long time tea drinker and someone who is especially fond of Oolong tea, I feel their tea is subpar in quality. Oolong tea normally tastes either floral, fruity or nutty, roasted when freshly brewed. The one I got tasted neither. When I expressed my concern to the staff, he was professional and understanding, offered to make me a replacement. Unfortunately the second one tasted the same. I think not only the tea quality is questionable but their recipe is not to my liking. Staff confirmed they pour more tea than milk in the drink, causing final product acrid and bitter rather than light and smooth. The better drink at Wangpo, IMO, is the lemon drink product. Good service. Comfy environment. They worked hard to impress and tried to make things right. It's just not the best I've had.

Is Izumi matcha worth the hype?…read more I have been to Izumi matcha over ten times at this point and remember first trying it in their original location in the silver creek area of San Jose before the matcha boom. Prior this place was unique and delicious, and really hit a spot. I believe that now with the various matcha spots around, it may not have as much as of unique selling point. Their tornado matcha is good and sweet, and is a great dessert however in my personal opinion, their traditional drinks are not standouts. Last week I went with a friend and ordered a matcha oat latte with a double shot, and while I tasted the matcha, it was grainy and didn't really have any depth. I wouldn't say I would avoid going here, for a matcha option and to get caffeinated for the day. It is still an option but I feel like it wouldn't be fair to say it's worth driving over 30+ minutes here. As a note too, this location can get extremely busy in terms of parking! The plaza is popping with heavy hitters. Service was fine as they do the self service kiosk with pick up being less than 5 minutes (no big lines), and the store itself is small with no seating outside but plenty of plaza seating outside.

Here's what we got: **Sunny Side Up Matcha Einspanner $7.75: A vibrant matcha base topped with a dollop of silky whipped cream, finished with a sunny side up 'egg' where the yolk is a sweet mango syrup. This drink had me saying "Oh wow!" after taking the first sip. After the second sip, it was "Was that a really ripe mini chunk of fresh mango?" This was so well executed that it felt effortless. It wasn't overly sweet-- the Matcha and the Mango flavors blended together beautifully yet you could make out the flavors of both. I usually scoff at how expensive drinks are these days but I could justify the price on this. **Black Sesame Coffee Einspanner $7.50: Signature espresso drink with our house-made Black sesame cream with your choice of milk. Another hit. I love Black Sesame and when I can find it, I order. This was also on par with the Sunny Side up because of how distinctly flavorful it was. You can taste the nuttiness of the black sesame seeds. Add in the espresso and it makes for a coffee that you could gulp down. Both of these drinks are dangerous because if it was up to me, I could have probably drank these both in under 5 minutes. Sigh.
