UME just released the cutest summer drink - the Cha Cha Bowl! It's loaded with textures and flavors, featuring shredded coconut, bread crumbs, mini taro balls, diced watermelon, sago, and coconut milk. Everything comes together surprisingly well, creating a refreshing and satisfying treat. It's even better paired with their signature fried chicken strips. I'm also obsessed with their dessert bowl, packed with purple rice, taro balls, mochi, and taro. Sooo good!

I got the Mandarin Ice Tea. It tastes like artificial mandarin and is very sweet. Chestnut popping boba tastes like artificial chestnut.  Green Tea Jelly tastes like green tea and is very sweet. The drinks came out within 5 minutes. This is a great place to get boba late at night when you have a craving. There's little seating outside the store. Parking lot is full during lunch and dinner hours so try not to go at those times!

Came by for some popcorn chicken the other day and it was a tasty experience. Ordered ahead via the website and my order was ready upon arrival. The popcorn chicken was hot and fresh. The chicken was lightly breaded and came with a few sticks to eat along with a few pieces of basil for fragrance. The counter was staffed by an uncle.

This is the best UME location in south bay because they have items on the menu they don't have at other locations like the bento boxes! Specifically I get the braised beef and mushroom bento box which is super good and you can't get at other locations. The kimchi, fish balls and sides it comes with are good too. I also ordered the oat burst sticky rice yogurt drink and it was amazing - I LOVE all their yogurt based drinks and I don't know other boba places in south bay that have these type of drink. The drink was amazing and food was solid. This specific location is popular so the wait was a bit long on a sunday night ~30 min but it's worth it! It's in a plaza with a lot of good chinese food and ranch 99 so you can look around while waiting. Keep in mind this location has no seating, but the plaza itself has some outdoor benches you can sit and eat/drink.

One of my favorite boba places! Pretty much addicted to the coco mango drink as well as their fried baby octopus and popcorn chicken. Pro tip: popcorn chicken, add salt and pepper seasoning as well as spicy. You won't ever order it another way again!

11/18/2025 DOORDASHED As someone stepping into the work industry, boba helped me survive my days at work. Ordered DoorDash and got a reg milk tea w boba. It was pricey on DoorDash for a regular-sized drink ($6.75) But the drink was good itself. and the pearls were nice and chewy, not hard.

I have been going to Ume Tea for 7 years now, maybe longer. This is the 1st and original location. The interior use to be very cute with photo ops and very pink inside. Now, fast forward 7 years later, the interior is a big mess with bags and boxes everywhere, no more photo ops and doesn't give me the Ume Tea vibe like the other new locations. I ordered 2 mango coconut blue drinks yesterday and there was really no one there in the afternoon. The drinks took about 20 minutes which was very very long compared to the other busier locations. After several sips, it didn't have the coconut flavor and tasted like milk instead. Also, I noticed that customers kept on coming up to the staff wondering about their drinks and other questions but the staff seemed confused and didn't know. I don't know how the original location went downhill like this. This location seems neglected in terms of vibe, service and quality. I hope they can fix these small issues so that it stands up to all of their other locations.

It looked weird when they used past season Christmas cup in February. Not sure if I still like their products as first impressions count, the past holiday design cup was off putting. I think they tried to use up old inventory but why not use them next year? Ordered a Pistachio Jasmine delight, the topping was slimy. Didn't like it too much. There are a plethora of boba shops in the same plaza, a total of five with a new one just opened, it seems Ume doesn't care about competitions. Outdoor seating continued to be a disaster. Unfortunately a hard pass this time.

Mango cloud 4/5 - this was pretty good. I like how there is a good serving of mango so you can actually taste the mango. It paired well with the coconut milk.

We were craving boba tea and decided to stop by this place because the shop has such a cute, kawaii decor. Mini me ordered the brown sugar boba and the mochi black milk tea with 15% sweetness and less ice, and it was the perfect level of sweetness. I ordered the coco mango jasmine bloom slushie with 50% sweetness. Both drinks were delicious and super refreshing. We even got a free cute bag since we ordered our drinks to go, which was a nice surprise. We will definitely be back. Next time I want to try the tanghulu yogurt drink or the sticky rice drink that comes in the adorable rectangle cup. The staff is efficient and the ordering process is easy since you order through a machine and they text you when your drinks are ready.

PLEASE hire more people the guy in the front looked so stressed having to run the store by himself i felt so terrible not to mention everyone was stressing him out by rushing him for their orders. other than that yum but they gave me like 1 boba in my drink

Overall excellent experience and tasty ingredients, tea, and bouncy tapioca pearls! Get the large for $1 more 5/5 Coco Mango was so fruity, with real fresh mango puree and the tiny sago pearls and coconut cream. Pearls were warm and had a chewy bouncy texture. Drink tasted like summer! 4.5/5 Milk tea with taro and boba was also quite good I appreciate the real taro paste. It's not as sweet overall vs the fruit drink

I've only really ordered to go here (they don't really have indoor seating anyways), but I have really enjoyed trying their stuff ! They have good snacks and my family used to order their bentos. I appreciate this place because they have non-caffeinated, non-dairy cold drinks that are super delicious, like some of their coconut drinks. In the actual store itself, it looks like it's mainly ordering by kiosk and the servers are really there just to make the food and drinks (which is enough for me, to be honest). Although this isn't a place to linger (i.e., there's not much sitting indoors, there are some benches and tables outside though), I would recommend this place's drinks and snacks!

The only critique I have is the music being way too loud at times. It's NOT what type of music is playing, but purely the volume. When it's loud, people talk louder and it can occasionally be a little too loud to focus without headphones. Otherwise, I think I've found my new fav local coffee shop!

It wasn't crazy busy so it was easy to order through one of their two tablets and find a spot to sit. It is very spacious and filled with many tables, so even when busy you'll likely be able to find a spot. The menu is a bit messy to look at--there is a big menu hanging over the kiosks, another posted alongside where a line is formed, then the menu on the tablet kiosks themselves. It's a pretty big menu featuring primarily coffee-based drinks, matcha lattes, and a wide variety of food, so you'll likely find something appealing. I ordered their smoked salmon bagel (which rang up to about $16) and their matcha latte ($8); to be honest, neither were outstanding. The salmon and avocado in the bagel were great, but the bagel itself was a bit stale--for $16, it's a bit hard to swallow. The matcha was very milky, and there is another store offering better matcha drinks in the same plaza. I'll admit, though, it's a little on me for not picking coffee at a spot with "coffee" in the name. I will say, though, that the atmosphere in the main area is pretty good; the decor is understated but comfortable, and the lighting is good. The service is also solid--the servers are friendly and our order came out quickly. I will say that the bathroom feels ominous. Overall, it's a great spot to study; Big Mug is open late, has free Wi-Fi and a bathroom for customers, and offers both food and caffeinated drinks for longer study sessions. I feel that the prices vary widely for items but skew towards being too pricy for the quality, at least from my limited experience. I plan on coming back to give other items a try, but for now, it's not a favorite.

It was near 5pm. I walked in and the place was empty. The gentleman behind the counter greeted me. I asked for a strawberry smoothie, then walked around to survey all the baked goods. It's a small bakery with lots of trays of individually packaged cakes and pastries. The smell was very pleasant and comforting. Using a flat basket (or tray) I grabbed a few selections. I picked 2 "Heart Pies" that resembled my favorite French Butterfly Cookies. Also 2 pound cakes. The total rang up to just over $21. There's some small tables for enjoying your purchases there, but I took my items to go. The icy cold fruit smoothie was very good and very cold! Not too sweet, it had a natural strawberry taste. The Heart Pies were good and fresh. But the Pound Cakes were probably "day old." I noticed there's no dates or "best by" tags on the packages. It's a nice place to visit, and I will return again.
