The drink had a nice milky pandan flavor and the green colored honey boba had a nice sweet chewy texture. The few changes I would make in the next order would be to add extra ice (there was very little ice) and adjusting the sweetness to 25 percent instead of 50 percent (it was still a bit too sweet for my taste). Stopped by here after having lunch at Dave's hot chicken. This was our first time here. It's a cute tea shop with inside seating. It is small inside. Since it wasn't too busy we sat inside to have our teas. You order at the kiosk and they call your name out when your order is ready. We ordered the watermelon heaven which was delicious and refreshing. It was like a watermelon icee with big chunks of fresh watermelon in it. We also tried the peach me sweet tea. It's been a hot second since I've had the karate chicken and I was so stoked to finally see that the Sunnyvale location offers their good eats here! For the longest time, Tastea's portion and seasoning for their popcorn chicken has been at the top of my picks ever since their location opened in Berryessa but after my recent visit I now have doubts. The portion for their large was what could be considered small or regular to their past portion was quite shocking for the price. Before, it'd be easy to share a large between 2-3 people, but their new large can easily devoured by 1. The seasoning was just as I remembered but light, and the breading on the chicken was lacking along with the chicken itself being on the dry side. I really wish they had other snacks available when I visited, but in the meantime it may take some time before I'd revisit to give the snacks a try again. read more

It's just like picking out the best watermelon in the grocery store. I order on the Tastea app, send a kid or pick it up myself. 3 points per dollar on the app, 450 pts for a free 20 oz drink or 575 for any free drink, 32 oz. That's a free drink after spending $150 but better than not getting a free drink. Drinks are usually ready on time. I normally step in 4 feet to the takeout window. My absolute favorite fruit teas and boba drinks. Watermelon Heaven with Lychee Jelly was perfect for the long, hot drive back home after a weekend of baseball. So refreshing. My usual go to is the Lychee Peachy with Honey Boba when watermelon isn't in season. You really can't go wrong with any of their drinks. Your typical boba place, I do have to say that their large cup is pretty decently sized if you want to get your money worth go for lite ice so you can get more drink then ice. It seems to be standard batching for the boba since I don't think I've ever had a bad batch. I appreciate that they have options for no ice and to be specific with topping off with milk or keeping it how it is because the flavor will change. I don't drink very much boba these days, but with the recent heat wave there was one drink I was craving that I LOVE here! The winter melon milk tea is so perfect and delicious and everything I could ask for. The only downside is that you have to adjust the sweetness immensely because the default (100%) sweetness is WAY TOO SWEET. Even medium sweet is pretty sweet and so I err towards lite sweet personally. I love that the drink is non dairy and non caffeinated. I'm not a huge fan of the setup of the inside as you have to walk along the narrow walkway on the right past the tables to get to the ordering area. I also appreciate the staff being able to pump drinks out very quickly. Tastea definitely is on the pricier end of boba, but you get solid drinks every time. They've remained one of my favorite boba shops despite the hundreds of new shops opening up all over the area, so I'm super happy that they added this and it's so so good. It's made with real matcha powder, oat milk by default, and uses fresh strawberries. None of that pre made matcha mix or artificial fruit syrup here. The matcha doesn't have that underlying earthy taste either. I highly recommend using the Tastea app to place and customize your order. They also do frequent promos! Recent in-app specials include free sample sizes of new drinks that come in these cute tiny cups, BOGO drinks, free toppings, etc. I've also noticed that they sweeten their drinks quite heavily, so I would recommend ordering at 50% or lower. Ordered a Thai tea at 75% in the past and it was way too sweet it felt like it left a sticky film on the tongue. You can also sweeten with Stevia instead. I love that they have this option, you can convince yourself that you're having a "healthier" drink! Service at this location is quick and friendly. Can't wait for the holiday boba when they add red pearls to the mix, adds a nice festive touch. My first in person experience with Tastea was at the Newark location. I had an almond milk tea with honey boba and couldn't get over the fact that adding addicting cheese foam only cost 30 cents at the time, say wha?! Sadly, almond milk tea is discontinued now so I've tried a couple other drinks. Subbing almond milk in a classic black milk tea isn't the same but I found horchata milk tea to be a better option. They top it off with sea salt foam & cinnamon cereal! Check out Horchata Crunch smoothie-- perfectly blended to cool you off. Once October hits, I get pumpkin pie milk tea which also has foam plus a dash of nutmeg. It doesn't really taste like pumpkin, more like autumn spices. What's great about Tastea is all the free customizations like oat milk, almond milk, default non-dairy, plus Stevia sweetener. Their milk teas are creamy enough for me that I choose no added sugar. Honey boba adds sweetness too. My first Tastea drink was a Lychee Peachee specialtea: peach black tea with lychee bits and added rainbow jelly. Very refreshing. There's something about Summer that makes me forgo milk teas until cold weather comes round. When it's chilly, grab yourself a steaming cup of hot boba milk tea!
