This location is spacious with quite a few tables & chairs to sit down. It gets very noisy though when it's more crowded and people tend to talk loudly inside. Order the original bubble waffle and the grape green tea. The bubble waffle is made fresh but the exterior isn't crunchy enough. I've had better ones at other Happy Lemon locations. The grape green tea is ok. It's one of the new items on the menu and not available to order in the kiosk. I think I'll go back to my fav. strawberry green tea next time. read more

I haven't had Happy Lemon in a while, but it never disappoints! I got the Mango Matcha and the Matcha Bubble Waffle. The Mango Matcha is my favorite drink here, and it was just as amazing as always. It's a subtly flavored matcha smoothie with pieces of mango. It wasn't too sweet and super delicious. The Matcha Bubble Waffle was also fantastic. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The egg waffles take a while but they're sooo good, last I checked they also give a generous amount of puff cream or salted cheese with the waffle. Well this was my first time visiting this establishment and also the first time I had to wait over 25 mins for one drink and waffle. I noticed that the person who had ordered after my husband got their order first. They had also order the same waffle. Well I went up to see where my order was because it was already 22mins at this point. Well, they said my order would be coming up, then they asked if I would be willing to take someone else's order. We were at the art and wine festival. It was hot and we felt like a nice ice tea. This one was the closest. There's plenty of options around the area. My mom tired the new Vietnamese coffee (25% sugar) with puff cream and wow!!! My hot take: it's hard to find good boba in the Bay Area -- it's often too watery, the tea flavor doesn'f come through, or the boba consistency is off. Happy Lemon is one of the few chains I can always rely on. I've been to several of the locations (from Mountainview to the multiple SF stores) and the quality is pretty consistent. My go-to order is the black milk tea with boba and salted cream cheese -- it hits. Good tea flavor, not watery, nice little savory creamy cap. read more

Since it was quite late in the afternoon I got the green milk tea with boba no sugar. I like how thick the milk is here (but not overwhelming) - makes for a smooth drink. Boba is chewy. This is off Castro street, so it's the perfect spot for a post-meal treat. They have a range of boba options, as well as Bubble Waffles. I got the Passion Fruit Green Tea with boba, and it was the perfect drink to cool off with. My friend got the Matcha Bubble Waffle and really enjoyed it. She said the matcha flavor was strong, in a good way. This is a good place if you want something fast. There's a boba spot on Castro street that had a line out the door, so we checked this place out instead and it had no line on a Sunday afternoon. The staff is super friendly, too! FYI, they only have a few tables inside. They also have Yakult teas, which I don't think I've ever seen at a boba place before. A non 5-star Happy Lemon review?! Yes, unfortunately this was the first location out of a handful visited all over the Bay Area to get a slightly lower rating. I usually always order the usual, regular green tea with salted cheese, 75% sweet and less ice - it tasted like 25% sweet and plus it had a super strong tea flavor. Also, I got the original bubble waffle and it was more on the crispier end so it was less chewy/mochi-y in the middle. Overall, it was just okay - not as consistent as the other HL's in the Bay Area. If you're a regular like me, highly recommend getting their rewards card to accumulate points for free drinks. read more

It's a happy, happy day for Downtown Mountain View residents because Happy Lemon is finally open. Their grand opening special is BOGO all drinks for this weekend 12/18-12/19. The line was a bit long but not unbearable. We stood in line for approximately 15 minutes. However when you look at the screen, the staff is extremely efficient and pushed out drinks in less than 5 minutes. This is excellent given that it is opening weekend. It is takeout only and there is no place to sit so you'll need to find a spot elsewhere to sip on your drink. We ordered the Mango Matcha ($6.25 + $.50 for boba) which is our favorite drink. I normally go to the Cupertino location, and I'm always happy with my order there. The cheese here tasted a little saltier for some reason, and that made it even better! I don't come here often because it's so far but every now and then my family will come eat nearby and get boba here. We love happy lemon and have a few nearby us. It's a nice and spacious location but not much seating, which is fine given the current situation ;) I really enjoyed the service here! They're very accommodating. My aunt got 0 sugar on the mango matcha and the staff came to explain that they can't do that because the flavor is in the mango so essentially 0 sugar = just matcha and won't taste good. Honestly I prefer this over the milpitas one, which where I'm closer to. I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try it out! Especially after having lunch or dinner at all the other amazing restaurants nearby. read more
