This location is spacious with quite a few tables & chairs to sit down. It gets very noisy though when it's more crowded and people tend to talk loudly inside. Order the original bubble waffle and the grape green tea. The bubble waffle is made fresh but the exterior isn't crunchy enough. I've had better ones at other Happy Lemon locations. Well this was my first time visiting this establishment and also the first time I had to wait over 25 mins for one drink and waffle. I noticed that the person who had ordered after my husband got their order first. They had also order the same waffle. Well I went up to see where my order was because it was already 22mins at this point. Well, they said my order would be coming up, then they asked if I would be willing to take someone else's order. I said sure which I shouldn't have because it was cold. The egg waffles take a while but they're sooo good, last I checked they also give a generous amount of puff cream or salted cheese with the waffle. My hot take: it's hard to find good boba in the Bay Area -- it's often too watery, the tea flavor doesn'f come through, or the boba consistency is off. Happy Lemon is one of the few chains I can always rely on. I've been to several of the locations (from Mountainview to the multiple SF stores) and the quality is pretty consistent. This is off Castro street, so it's the perfect spot for a post-meal treat. They have a range of boba options, as well as Bubble Waffles. She said the matcha flavor was strong, in a good way. This is a good place if you want something fast. There's a boba spot on Castro street that had a line out the door, so we checked this place out instead and it had no line on a Sunday afternoon. The staff is super friendly, too! This place is painted in bright colors with neon lights which are not very inviting. I ordered the matach tiramisu drink which sounded heavenly to me. I ordered online and picked it up in store. The order came without the tiramisu, so I had to go back and ask for it. The assistant then started to make it which took some time. The taste was terrible. The tiramisu flavor was so artificial, it tasted a little metallic and chemical to me. Disgusting. The matcha latte tasted like nothing. Like plain milk with green coloring. The line was a bit long but not unbearable. We stood in line for approximately 15 minutes. However when you look at the screen, the staff is extremely efficient and pushed out drinks in less than 5 minutes. This is excellent given that it is opening weekend. It is takeout only and there is no place to sit so you'll need to find a spot elsewhere to sip on your drink. We ordered the Mango Matcha ($6.25 + $.50 for boba) which is our favorite drink. It's a nice and spacious location but not much seating, which is fine given the current situation ;) I really enjoyed the service here! They're very accommodating. My aunt got 0 sugar on the mango matcha and the staff came to explain that they can't do that because the flavor is in the mango so essentially 0 sugar = just matcha and won't taste good. Honestly I prefer this over the milpitas one, which where I'm closer to. I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try it out!
