A non 5-star Happy Lemon review?! Yes, unfortunately this was the first location out of a handful visited all over the Bay Area to get a slightly lower rating. I usually always order the usual, regular green tea with salted cheese, 75% sweet and less ice - it tasted like 25% sweet and plus it had a super strong tea flavor. Also, I got the original bubble waffle and it was more on the crispier end so it was less chewy/mochi-y in the middle. Overall, it was just okay - not as consistent as the other HL's in the Bay Area. However when you look at the screen, the staff is extremely efficient and pushed out drinks in less than 5 minutes. This is excellent given that it is opening weekend. It is takeout only and there is no place to sit so you'll need to find a spot elsewhere to sip on your drink. We ordered the Mango Matcha ($6.25 + $.50 for boba) which is our favorite drink. It's a nice and spacious location but not much seating, which is fine given the current situation ;) I really enjoyed the service here! They're very accommodating. My aunt got 0 sugar on the mango matcha and the staff came to explain that they can't do that because the flavor is in the mango so essentially 0 sugar = just matcha and won't taste good. Honestly I prefer this over the milpitas one, which where I'm closer to. I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try it out!
