It was my first time at Happy Lemon and it smelled so heavenly! I've seen the aesthetic ig photos with boba drinks, along with the cute lemon mascot, and knew it had to be on my list! Being in the Bay Area my entire life, I've seen this lemon a few times and was lucky to swing by since it was in the area! My first impression was how lovely it smelled thanks sweetness of the mochi waffles! My sister ordered one with red bean paste and loved it. I ended up leaving with a Dragon Fruit tea with boba pearls, but hope to snag a yummy waffle next time. I think their menu is really unique, but definitely not for every boba fan. They have the basics likes fruit smoothies, teas, and fun additions like salted cheese! But they do miss out on sugar control which feels like a common place in boba houses. To me, Happy Lemon is more of a lemonade house with boba than a boba shop for these few reasons. Unfortunately, the boba was al dente and a bit slimy. Instead of being chewy, it felt a bit tough to chew with a slime over, making some tasting overcooked and some undercooked! Sadly, this may have been an isolated incident since most people I hear enjoy their drinks and boba. When we went to grab a seat, the tables were really dirty with crumbs, straw wrappers, and napkins. Since the shop wasn't too busy it was a bit of a let down, so we didn't stick around longer for that reason. The positives are that they do have a great smelling shop, really kind workers, mochi waffles, and a fun menu that's always changing. My dragon fruit drink was a newer drink, and it was very yummy my first few sips, but was extremely sweet. I think it may be better for a child or someone with a strong tolerance for sugar. In the future, I'll skip the drink altogether and get a mochi waffle since that seemed like a big selling point. As for lemonade based drinks - if you aren't into super sugary juices/drinks, you might want something else or a different boba shop altogether. For the price of the drinks and hour of the day, it was a bit lackluster (boba, atmosphere, cleanliness). I hope I had a bad batch of boba and they improve in the future, but I won't be returning for drinks - just a waffle! read more

I have always loved happy lemon. Highly recommend the Mango Yakult Smoothie which is my go to drink. However this time I got the mango matcha and it is so good. Perfect amount of sweetness and the matcha flavor is not overpowering at all. Great texture as well. I usually am not a huge fan of matcha but this drink does it perfectly. 100% recommend. read more

This is such a cute place I'm glad that it opened in Castro after seeing it being under construction for a while. I got a Ube taro drink with 25% sugar and actually found it still quite sugary so I might go for no sugar next time. The inside of the place is super super aesthetic it's very very cute and there are outlets everywhere so I would come here even to work. The prices are pretty standard it's a pretty high end for a Boba place and the quality is pretty good so I would come back again are used to really like their cream cheese drinks. read more

Been here multiple times. I've tried their Mango Matcha and Oolong tea with salted cheese. Both delicious. The staff here are friendly and accommodating. When I asked for lower sugar in the Mango Matcha, the staff patiently explained to me that they use mango syrup for the drink, so can't adjust the sugar level, but happy to reduce the #pumps of mango syrup added. Only thing is they are definitely on the pricier side (and certain drinks only come in large size), but given the brand and the location, that's fair. read more

I have been waiting forever for Happy Lemon to open in Mountain View! When I saw their signage, I was so excited! It is one of my favorite drink spots ever! I came here around 3:30pm one afternoon after work. I got the chocolate smoothie with salted cheese and asked for oreo topping. I also ordered my coworkers drinks who haven't had Happy Lemon before. One drink was a jasmine tea with salted cheese and the other was a strawberry green tea with salted cheese. The inside of the shop was quite spacious. There are a few tables and chairs set up on one side of the shop. It looked very clean. Of course, I loved my drink! My other favorite is the oreo milk tea with salted cheese and the strawberry green tea with mango chunks and salted cheese. My coworker who was weary of the salted cheese with tea absolutely loved it! My other coworker that I surprised the drink with, really liked it as well. Some may think salted cheese with a drink is weird, but give it a try! Will definitely be back here! So dangerous that it is by my work! There is street parking available. At the time, I went so much parking was available. Unsure how it is other times of day. There is a parking lot near by as well. Though I think that does stay busy. read more

Finally tried their ube milk tea with taro puff cream but with honey boba instead of taro balls, which were strangely out of stock the two times I came by around 6PM. The 25% was a good amount of sweetness but the drink itself was just okay: can faintly taste the taro, no tea, mostly just creamy milk. The boba was undercooked and had a hard bite rather than the chewy softness. Might try this drink again at a different location and hopefully they'll have the taro balls! read more

Always a good day when I get Happy Lemon! I've had lots of Happy Lemon from various other locations throughout the Bay Area, and I'm so glad to see that they opened one in Mountain View. I came by on a Thursday evening around 7 PM. It was pretty empty as it was just me in the store, but the place is huge and clean, and the employees were really nice. The person that helped me was friendly and took my order promptly. I ordered a strawberry green tea with boba, and a boba puff cream milk tea. It was around $12 for both drinks. Don't forget to also use your rewards card if you have one! You just have to let the cashier know before you pay. The drinks came out really fast and the flavors were extremely good. It's probably one of the best experiences I've had at Happy Lemon in general. The strawberry green tea was full of strawberries and had really good flavor. The boba puff cream milk tea was also perfect - it had great creaminess from the puff cream and there was plenty of it. The serving sizes of the toppings were also really generous. Parking is pretty easy in the free downtown Mountain View lots! Will definitely come back again! read more

This new joint sits in place of the old boba spot that was here for many years. I enjoyed their use of all the open space in their dining area, how much natural light the whole place took in, as well as the bright colors. The workers were nice and knowledgeable about their products but a little confusing at the same time. Their menu had similarly named drinks, that offered similar fixings but they were charged differently and it took a minute to figure it out. The drink was thick and the cream or custard at the top was hard to mix and harder to swallow. The boba was good but I am curious to try others. My rating is simply based on my first experience there and I may change it when I visit their spot again. I will say this - it is a HUGE improvement of the boba shop that used to be there. read more

In the past, I've been to a few Happy Lemon locations, but this one is the best! Although the store is not on the main street of the downtown, the interior still caught my eye as I was strolling around. There are nice flowers, shiny display signs, clean tables, and a cute Happy Lemon mascot inside. I just wished there were more catchy posters to introduce some drinks. Anyways, the employees make the drinks soooooo fast! Some kid kindly delivered my Mango Matcha to me after I had just ordered and was still paying! Didn't come for the drinks this time but stayed for the bubble waffles. The bubble waffles reminded me of the OG Eggettes that were one of the few places that had it back in the day. Nonetheless, Happy Lemon does a great job of delivering these fresh to order which takes about 10-15 minutes. My friends and I split the Original and Chocolate flavors which were absolutely delicious. The batter they used wasn't dried out and the outside was super crispy while leaving a fluffy inside. You have the option to order toppings but they also taste delicious on their own. They do allow seating indoors and keep a door open for ventilation. As for parking, there is plenty of street parking and nearby parking lots within the area. Be sure to check out the signs as some of limitations of 2 hours or less if you're planning on eating around the area. read more

I usually go to the location in Cupertino but since I was downtown I visited this one. The inside is pretty cute but I forgot I prefer 0/25% sugar instead of 50. Normally I get the green or black tea with cheese float and really like it but I got it too sweet this time and couldn't even drink half of it. I also miss the lids that let you drink directly from the cup to get the 45 degree angle for optimal cheese to tea ratio. read more

Tonight I bought two separate orders since one was for my boyfriend and another for my mom in two separate houses. On uber eats they charge $0.10 for a straw (id expect it to be free but i bought a straw regardless since both drinks have boba) and when it got to my boyfriend he didn't get a straw and the waffle wasn't even in the packaging it was in this to go bag with the paper wrap next to it. This place took my money twice for one drink. The first time I swiped my card, the screen showed some sorts of error message and didn't go to the tip screen. The cashier didn't even notice that but I told him and he asked me to use another card. This card was okey and it did went to the tip screen. However later on I noticed pending charge on the previous card. I told the cashier but he insisted that the first card was never charged. Today the charge was shown as complete on my bank. I have extremely high standards for milk tea, so I was pretty skeptical when I saw "Happy Lemon" because it sounds like a typical overly sweet, low quality tea, type of place. I was extremely surprised when the milk tea quality turned out to be premium, and now it's on my extremely short list of milk tea places (there's only 3: Fantasia, TP Tea, and now Happy Lemon). 5 stars: Boba Milk Tea. The classic with black tea. The black tea quality is excellent, not the watered down garbage at most places. Half sugar was perfect. Boba was perfect too, not soggy or anything. 4 stars: Black Tea with Salted Cheese. "Salted cheese" is a terrible marketing term. But it actually tastes decent. It's kind of like whipped cream, with only a hint of salt. Definitely no actual "cheese" flavor, which would be disgusting. 1 star: Boba Milk Tea with Puff Cream. The Puff Cream was gross. It was sickeningly sweet. I'd recommend to order with 0 sugar, because the Puff Cream is like 100% sugar. read more
