Went on a friday night- service was nice and fast. I really appreciated how they walked us through the menu and our server had nice picks. My highlights of the night were the ham and egg roll and chicken karaage! The fried milk was cool, but the side pairings of it I didn't understand. There was a sheet of burnt something on top and then something like bitter chocolate fudge underneath. Wouldn't get the dessert again, but the dishes offered a cool experience!

We set a budget with the waiter for a Samakase.. nothing else to say besides the best meal I've ever had in Dallas (close to in general). Come experience it. I would give 6 stars if I could

Always great. Went for happy hour for the first time. The menu is sufficient. Obviously not all the things are on there and the dishes aren't that discounted for main courses. Good timeframe and the staff is nice. We did the vegetarian omakase last time we went but this time was our first time going during happy hour and they couldn't make the happy hour omakase with a vegetarian spin.

Great sushi and great service. We had several friends in town that wanted sushi and Uchi Dallas never disappoints. The evening was fun and everyone enjoyed all of the items that we sampled. Fresh, expertly prepared, and delicious. Our waiter was awesome, and even took an Air Drop of my son's Apple Notes sushi list for our order! They have a great drink menu and lots of sake too.

The food was great, the fish was super fresh! I need to come back to try the omakase experience. I really enjoyed the hama chili. My friend at the table did a somakase and the dishes our server picked out for her were so good, I wish I remembered what they all were! Our server was also very attentive and came back to check on us frequently.

Seated at the bar- the bartender really couldn't be bothered with me as he was too busy bro lancing the dudes from denver ( use those terms cause they keep saying bro and dude and hand slapped like 12 time) they invited him to Denver and he promised them a hook up at the Carlton and In Miami cause he knows the boss- don't mind any of that but when the server asked if he had anyone needing help his response was "no just this girl" and continued to ignore me as he went about his bromance. The server she was very friendly and helpful and after waiting 23 min I was finally able to order a drink and she gave water. Given I just had a 12hr flight from hell I may have been less than patient with the crappy initial customer service but she was very friendly. I ordered a Glass of the 2020 Soracco and it was lovely, Then edemame- which was delicious with a smokey flavor to it. Followed this with Shrimp Tempura- Crispy well flavored and delicions, then did the Wagyu Tataki- perfectly tender, well seasoned with a perfect flavor combinaton. the Brussels Chimichurri and fried egg miso foam were perfect compliments to the meat. finished with a dessert that was simply delicous, I wsh had remembered the name. it was three friend crispy almost like cream puffs as filled with a cream deliciousness, a

Incredibly fresh seafood plates here. I'm always so impressed by the plating. Each dish is a work of art! The tasting menu is convenient if you're not sure what to try or order. The server is always knowledgeable and can give great recommendations. I was expecting to not get full while eating here, but I actually did get full! Come during happy hour for some better deals!

Uchi in Dallas was outstanding. The sushi was excellent, and we focused mostly on sashimi, which was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. The ham and eggs roll was something different we tried. It sounds unusual, but it was creative and really well executed. We sat at the bar so as expected service was attentive, and the overall experience lived up to the reputation. This is a must visit for sushi in Dallas.

I'm giving this a 4-star for ambiance, and knowledge by the server. The same was great but unfortunately the food didn't measure up to what I remembered months back the first time I tried this restaurant. I simply couldn't find the items we got that I liked last time. And the items we got except for one roll were par at best. I had brought friends here from Los Angeles and they too were less than impressed. We would have eaten more had we understood the menu better and had the first few things come out delicious. Sadly, for this reason I will not return. Just so many other restaurants to try or return to that was 5 star.

The Standard uchi group dinner. The quality is always good, but gosh they really need to change up their menu for the big group events. It has gotten so repetitive that we have stopped scheduling dinners at uchi since we are so tired of the same meal over and over. Doesnt help that the dessert takes an extra 30 minutes to come out (sometimes longer)

It's always a treat when we are able to visit Uchi. The menu is a bit overwhelming when deciding on what to order because there are so many unique items and not a lot of descriptions of what you're actually getting. Because of that, we tend to order the omakase (chef's choice) or somakase (waiter helps curate/select the items) and trust the restaurant to provide us with the most delicious foods. We have never had anything that we did not like/love. It's a must-try experience if you ever have an opportunity. Even the most basic nigiri sushi will have an unexpected ingredient/sauce/garnish that elevates it to something incredible. It's a very, very expensive meal but at least you'll never be disappointed with any of the food.

Great sushi. Awesome atmosphere. I loved our sushi chef! The dessert had cilantro ice on top which I was skeptical of but I enjoyed it.

I celebrated my anniversary at Uchi on a Saturday night and had an okay experience! My overall thought is that for a place where people spend $80+ a head, I expected more. The restaurant is beautiful and clean, though a bit loud. We were seated at a booth, and we loved how spacious it was. We were given a little card that said "Happy Anniversary", but that was all the celebratory gestures we received. We opted for ordering a handful of dishes from the vegetarian menu, as well as some sake. The sake was really excellent and tasted like honeydew. The two best dishes were the Uchi Salad and the Crispy Tofu roll. They were amazing. The other dishes ranged from good to meh. The fried green tomato katsu wasn't great - the tomato was really hard and kind of oaky. Service was extremely slow. We waited over FORTY MINUTES between receiving our brussels sprouts and the kinoko nabe, even though we ordered it ahead of time. This meal was a lot of waiting paired with pretty subpar service. Our server wasn't notably personable or warm. At the end of the night, we were given a $25 off voucher as an apology for the poor service and long wait times. The caveat is this voucher needs to be used this month, in the next ~2 weeks, which seems unlikely for me. At this price point, I would recommend you go elsewhere! Especially to celebrate a big milestone and moment, they fell short.

Im trying to make a reservation. I see Wine Bar and sushi bar options---which option is just a regular dining/table option?

On their website, the regular times without any specifications are normal tables. I see "Patio", "Sushi Bar", and regular times

    When is happy hour?

Hi Cathy, Our happy hour is from 4 to 6pm at Uchi. Our sister restaurant Uchiba (right above uchi)…

Is it cold on the patio this time of year?

Hi Ashley! Outside on the patio we have fans/misters/heaters that are utilized at various points in the year. This winter there are 9 Bromic heaters that are evenly distributed on the patio.

I have a party 5+ for a family birthday. We are all looking to get omakase except for one of our party who has a fish allergy. Would it be possible for the table to get omakase minus that one person?

I'm sure they'd be able to do that! They always seem very flexible and I even had a vegan phase where they did a vegan omakase for me. One thing to be careful about are some of the soy sauces etc as sometimes they can have fish oils in them, so…

Would you say that it's good for a birthday and be able to fill you up?

Yes! It's nice for special occasions but you do spend quite a bit. I get full when I've racked up about $150-200

Does anyone know if they serve Omakase for one?

We have several options for our omakases. Each day, we feature a six course signature tasting and a ten course che'fs tasting that are designed for two people to share. If you sit at the sushi bar, your sushi chef can easily customize a meal for…

    Is happy hour still available?

    Yes, til 6:30!!

Hello, John, We have many naturally gluten free options on the menu, as well as several sauce alternatives to make a large portion of our menu gluten free. We even have a…

Is miso soup still on menu?

    Yes!

    What are the vegan options?

Honestly this place is very easy. Just tell them you're vegan and they'll make up some rolls or side dishes for you. This is my top sushi place for me and I love it a lot! They have pickled veggies and mushrooms that are very tasty. I know for sure…

Is the valet service free or do we have to found our own parking?

Ues, friendly valet service is complimentary

What's the average price range for a dinner date for 2 people?

That's pretty much impossible to answer at a sushi place. It's not like a typical restaurant where you each order an entree. So it depends on how much sushi you order. You could get out of there for $150. Or you could get out of there for $400.

Is this place BYOB (bring your own beer or wine?

    No, they are full service.

I'm a party of one. Can I come for dinner and just wait for a bar seat?

Yes! You can also make a reservation for 1 if you want to be safe - or take your chance waiting at either the wine bar or sushi bar (Both serve the full menu!)

Can you make a reservation for happy hour? If not, would it be difficult to get a spot for 6 people?

Sher O., You can absolutely make a reservation during our Sake Social Hour (what we call our Happy Hour). We would love to make a reservation for you party of 6. Call our…

Can a 17 year old have a drink with his parents presence and permission?

Johnny T is correct, TABC does allow for an establishment to server the parent/guardian, who can then server the minor. The parent/guardian must be present the entire time the minor has possession of an alcoholic beverage.…

Overall: 4.7/5 [dine in]…read more Our sushi chef was Jayden and he was so nice. He checked in with us throughout the meal to make sure everything tasted good, offered to cut our hand rolls in half so we could share, and even gave us a salmon belly on the house. Black Cod Nigiri ($6): Best bite of the night and it was on the seasonal menu. It was cooked and I'm not sure what they did to it, but it was absolutely phenomenal. Salmon Truffle Ponzu ($18): My second favorite dish of the night. The salmon was super fresh and the truffle ponzu elevated the whole thing. Scallop Foie Gras ($24): Beautiful presentation and good but surprisingly not as flavorful as the salmon truffle ponzu. I was expecting more umami from the foie gras. Salmon Belly Toro Nigiri ($16): Salmon belly with fatty toro topped with ikura. Delicious and melts in your mouth. Toro Wagyu Uni Nigiri ($22): Fatty tuna, A5 wagyu beef, and uni nigiri. My husband thought it was fun to eat, but said he would not order it again. Nodoguro Nigiri ($13): I looked this up, and it's apparently a rare high end deep sea fish from Japan known as the toro of white fish. Based purely on taste though, I thought it was okay and did not compare to the salmon belly. Kanpachi Cherry Blossom ($6.50): A pretty rosy pink color with a subtle cherry blossom flavor. Okay in terms of taste compared to the other fishes we had. Ami Ebi Nigiri ($10): The sweet shrimp was a bit too raw for me. Crab Uni Butter Nigiri ($12): I did not really taste the difference between the uni infused butter and regular butter so I am not sure it is worth the price, though it was still good. Snow Crab Handroll ($7): So much better than imitation crab. Recommend out of all the handrolls we tried. Eel Handroll ($7.50): Not my favorite but my husband said it was one of the best eel he has ever had. Lobster Handroll ($12): Good but nothing special. Volcano Roll ($28): This took the longest to make and was the last item we received even though we saw them start preparing it at the beginning of the meal. The presentation was beautiful and Jayden even sprayed gold on it for our photo and video. It comes with snow crab, avocado, lobster, and bay scallop topped with eel sauce and was really yummy with lots of seafood. The only downside was that the roll underneath broke apart easily which made it hard to eat. Fresh Wasabi Root ($10): We watched them grind the wasabi fresh which was cool to see. It doesn't have a kick to it though so I wouldn't order it again since I like a tiny bit of spiciness. Matcha Mojito ($15): Not for me. It had a bit too much club soda. Yuzu Saketini ($15): I liked this one more than the matcha mojito. The yuzu flavor was prominent and it kind of reminded me of a Lemon Drop.

For the nigiri I had the fatty tuna, a5 wagyu, and king salmon. They were all absolutely delicious and warped me to Japan. I was reminded of the same quality and taste - which checks out since they import their fish from Japan! The special kome roll was so delicious I ate it very slowly to savor every bite and memory of sushi in Japan. For dessert I had the deep fried cheesecake - I think the last time I had this I was 12 at Mr. sushi in Boston and all my memories came back. Grapes were too big though but everything else A+ The matcha tonic - I can't find it online but it was an incredible balance of fizzy, sweetness and matcha. Sushi Bar Dallas…read more Omakase at Sushi Bar Dallas is an incredible experience from the moment you step inside. The room is intentionally intimate and very dark, with an industrial ceiling where pipes climb 20+ feet above, signaling you're in for something far from a traditional sushi bar. My only gripe came at the front of the house: the initial greeting and the rule explanation were a little too demanding and elementary for someone who is tired and paying a significant amount of money for a sushi dinner. Put the rules in an email, text and on the website i'm not in 4th grade. The hostess was pleasant, but she seemed a bit robotic in doling out the rules of the evening. The line-up system, where you wait your turn and have your name called, feels odd and reminds me of the times I visited my friend in prison and the guards lined us up against the wall by our names before they took us to the room with inmates. Uncomfortable but I do follow most rules and there was a reason for the lineup that becomes clear as you settle in. Next she takes you down a dimly lit, narrow wooden staircase and you land in a basement sanctuary of omakase heaven. Our hostess knocked and the door opened to a room that felt specially curated for this meal. Each guest found their name written in gold on a sign on the sushi bar where you are suppose to sit. The chair was a very comfortable leather chair. Each gold written name plate, marking the guest order she placed us in upstairs. My seat was at the center of the sushi bar, perfectly positioned to capture video and photos of both chefs in action. From the start, we were told we'd be eating with our hands, a nod to traditional Japanese dining. The chefs staged 17 courses with the precision of neurosurgeons, walking us through every nuance from the provenance of the seafood to the section of the fish we were eating to the age of the barrel aged soy sauce. Not a detail was missed, and timing felt both deliberate and urgent in all the right moments. The father, Jose, was laid-back and effortlessly in control, while Leo, Jose's son, emerged as a true partner in the kitchen, their dynamic reminiscent of watching a masterful, living artwork take shape. The two moved back and forth with a rhythm that felt like a collaboration at the highest level, each dish placed neatly on a flat stone in front of each of us. They would then announce with pride what we were about to inhale and wait in anticipation of our response. It was clear they take tremendous pride in their craft, presenting edible masterpieces that felt almost ceremonial. Too keep everyone happy with the time in between dishes there was an endless supply of a pickled salad that I could not stop eating. As for a favorite course, it's hard to pick one. Each bite built on the last, and the whole sequence felt cohesive, an immersive set from tartare hand roll, to Shima Aji, Madai, Uni my favorite, Hotate, Masu, Hirami, Hamachi, Bincho, Kinmedai, and something I have never heard of Zuwaigani, followed by the best Waygu I have ever had in my life and ending with a passion fruit sorbet with activated charcoal crumbles and toasted crispy coconut, I don't like coconut and I ate every bite. The pairing of technique, seasonal seafood, and f#%king great seasonings left a lasting impression or as my wife says, "my husband has food memories." If you're considering a visit, go with an open mind, a willingness to lean into the pace, and a camera ready (flash off it's one of the rules) for the moments when the chefs' artistry shines. The father-and-son team of Jose Manuel Tapia and Leo deliver something rare: not just sushi, but a storytelling meal where every plate is a page in an ongoing, delicious epic food story. At the end they will make you additional food for an additional price but it's worth it. They then walked us over to a very nice bar with a great vibe and old school Dazz Band playing like I was in a time machine and it was 1982. Great place, great food, great vibe. Be ready to drop $300 plus per person tip is included but you will want to tip the sushi chefs something extra.

The nigiri really stood out: perfectly seasoned rice, melt-in-your-mouth fish, and thoughtful touches that elevated every bite. You can tell there's serious attention to detail. The pacing of the courses was just right, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the whole experience felt relaxed but refined. It's the kind of place where you just settle in and enjoy the craft. Easily one of my favorite sushi experiences in Dallas. I'll definitely be back.

To dissect the Chicken Teriyaki Bento: the chicken teriyaki had a nice flavor and wasn't dry (which is a pet-peeve of mine), the salad had a nice, citrusy dressing that just opens up your sinuses, and the gyoza was very juicy. A very filling meal, to say the least. The Unagi Don was delectable, with every bite a creamy and umami mix. Then, the "I Love You" roll literally just melted in your mouth. Service: No complaints! We were seated immediately upon walking in, and our orders were taken and food arrived promptly. Virtually no wait on a Friday afternoon. Ambiance: Casual, traditional. Parking: Ample parking. Located in a plaza.

When I pointed out the mistake and asked for them to be replaced, the staff refused to take the incorrect order off my bill. Instead of fixing their own kitchen error, they forced me to pay for both the ruined rolls and the remake effectively charging me double for one meal. Making an order mistake is one thing, but making the customer pay twice to correct your own error is completely unacceptable. Save your money and go somewhere that actually respects its customers and stands behind its service.

There are plenty of good choices on the menu (the mushroom risotto is excellent, which shows the breadth and scope of this Japanese restaurant). Again, the wait staff here is very attentive, always checking in and refilling our water or clearing our dishes. In particular, our waitress Lynn is amazing and made us feel right at home. She knows the menu inside out and had recommendations ready for us when we inquired (sake, appetizers, rolls). On top of that, she is very friendly and kind, which added to our positive dining experience. If I were starting a restaurant, I would hire all of my wait staff to be similar to Lynn in character, charm, work ethic, and customer-centric focus. For dessert, Lynn recommended the ube cake -- it was one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Five stars overall for Nikko for the delicious food, festive ambience, and ease of parking.

I was excited to see chalkboard specials but the pricing looked like it was for 2 pieces of Nigiri but it was for 1 piece and the two choices we made were not very good (seaperch and ankimo). The tempura tipped us off immediately (greasy and overly fried, they looked like onion rings from a hamburger joint), and I'm afraid the sushi was that good, especially considering the price. Himachi sashimi was good and cold. Nigiri was not cold and nothing out of the ordinary. Service was attentive but average (luckily our server forgot to order a roll that my wife wanted).

What an experience! Celebrated a friend's birthday here and we did the signature namokase…read moreexperience! I really couldn't tell you all the delicious courses brought out, but all were chef selections and change with the seasons. I lose track of how many courses were included, but at least 7! The dessert was matcha tiramisu and crème brûlée! That I do remember. The tuna items were my favorite though. The only downside which is not the restaurant's fault is they have more seating outside than inside and with the heat, it is just tough this time of year in August! I will definitely be back though. The service was great and the staff are super attentive if you need more water, another drink and check if you finished your current course before bringing out the next.

I didn't have a reservation & I was hoping I can slide into a seat at the sushi bar. When I arrived I was greeted by Vivian, she was so sweet & welcoming. I instantly knew by her hospitality that if she wasn't able to seat me, I would come back. She was able to get me on a short wait until a seat opened at the sushi bar. I was more than happy to wait, I was offered a beverage while I waited but opted for just water tonight. The manager Alexander came back to see if I needed anything while I waited for my seat. I was seated at the sushi bar & greeted by my server. Her name was Sayaka. She has such a warm smile & energy about her. She explained the menu since it was my first time. Then I proceeded to order, I ordered a handful of nigiri's. My sushi chef was Joseph! He was so friendly, knowledgeable and made other great suggestions aside from what I ordered. Thank you chef Joseph for using his expertise to absolutely WOW ME @ the quality of the fish. The simplicity of what quality of fish & experience will make you feel. From beginning to end, my dining experience was exceptional. I am quite particular when it comes to sushi, but this exceeded my expectations. I'll be back again to visit Namo!
