We rented a truck for the day. When we arrived to pick it up, Token informed us there was no customer parking and we'd have to park across the street to park at Dutch Bros. When I asked for clarification because the street was 4 lanes without a cross walk and unsafe, Token was surly about it. This is a review of this particular location, which I used 5 times in October - 4 times for in-town moving and one time returning a truck I had rented from Las Vegas for a long haul. No problems anytime here, manager Christopher Dunn has been professional, friendly, and very understanding. Two times he helped me a lot. First time was when I returned from Las Vegas (3rd U-haul of month). I had specifically requested to return the Uhaul to West 7th, but when I got home I noticed I was instructed to return to a different location. Because (1) We are a one-car family and I live walking distance from here and (2) I'm loyal to a location that treats me right, I called U-haul Customer Service (0 Stars) to see what was going on. They said it's their choice which location I return to, and that the West 7th location was full. I explained about not having a car available to drive to a far away location and they agreed to make the reservation til the next day no charge. Then the next day my wife worked unexpectedly and I had to call again and ask them to change to the West 7th location close to me so I could walk home. The customer service rep changed it for me, but also nastily told me I was inconveniencing other families. And of course when I went to return it she added back in the charge for the extra day. I explained to Mr. Dunn that they had agreed not to charge me an extra day and he took care of it. Second time was just this past week. I was using the U-haul for a local move, moving sixteen 4' by 8' panels that would build into a 12 by 8' Lounge inside an office building. With helpers the job was done just a few hours after renting the Uhaul, but since I had 24, we left some mattresses and other things that would go into the Lounge after the build the next morning Only problem is I was starting to feel really horrible that night, and by the next morning I decided I'd better find out what was wrong before starting anything. Pneumonia. Called my project off, couldn't deal with the U-haul at all except to call and pay for an extra day. Still useless the next day, had to have my buddy come grab the keys, move the stuff into the office space, but we missed the 4pm due date. I had to have my wife return it the next morning, and Mr. Dunn again accommodated by removing the charge. There was a little miscommunication when he said he was just charging me $70, and she thought he meant an additional $70! Anyway, did me right again, I've had 5 good experiences with this U-haul location and that's enough for 5 stars from me! read more

Rented a 10' truck to move. It had 3/4 tank of gas. The employee told me if I filled it up I would be credited for the additional gas. When I dropped off the truck I was told it wasn't their policy to give credits. So it looks like Uhaul is double dipping and I was ripped off for 5 gallons of gas. read more

I was supposed to return the truck by 6 PM but I absolutely could not get there because of circumstances beyond my control. So I returned it at 7:15 believing the time was flexible cause no on rented it after me. I called 3 times in one day keeping them posted each person said should be a problem. The last lady said I could get charged for it. I was still going off his word that it wouldn't matter we will help you out if your having troubles. I would have kept the truck longer had I known they were going to charge me for another day. I tried to explain this to the owner and he was very rude and would not even listen to me, hanging up on me when I was in tears. THE WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Did an after hours pick up and was having problems getting it, called UHAUL customer service and they didn't know what was wrong with my reservation and couldn't figure it out. They tried to contact owner of this location and got no answer. After sitting in the parking lot for an hour wasting my time dealing with this I was finally able to get a truck (different one than I originally reserved, because at that point I'd take anything just to get on my way). Customer service said that someone was supposed to contact me from this branch to give me some kind of compensation and explanation of what happened, but I got nothing. I sent a detailed email to the email address attached to my receipt from the rental, still no response. I had to deal with cooperate customer service through this whole ordeal since clearly there's nobody who cares to handle situations at the branch. And even they were kind of a hassle to deal with because I had to call four separate times over the course of three weeks to get any type of resolution. I was pretty fed up and told them I wanted a full refund at this point... they agreed and said it would be processed 3-5 business days. Going on two weeks since the refund was supposed to go back to my account and I still haven't received anything. I won't be using uhaul again. Side note* the few different people who I talked with at cooperate customer service were great and did all they could within their means to help, not bashing/blaming them at all, just the system and timeline of how they get back to people or resolve problems needs some serious work. read more

USE SOMEONE ELSE!!! This was the worst moving experience thanks to uhaul. Was given a truck with dry rotted tires and had a blow out. Spent hour 7 hours waiting on they to tell us what to do with our broken down truck, promised call back that never happened. Finally at 11pm they put us in the worst hotel I've ever been in. The hotel had needles outside on the ground, paint falling off the walls, dirty bathroom, etc. We were promised to be back on the road at 8 the next morning, that didn't happen we had to stay another night. We were promised so much money back for food, gas, etc since we had such an awful time and we're just stuck for two day. Three weeks later it's like pulling teeth to get it back, now they are saying that's not what they said etc and only giving back $73 when they said they would be reimbursing us $250. Be Aware! My family had the most unsafe move in a truck not prepared for long haul travel that we rented from this store. We were moving from Oregon to Texas and rented a 26" haul to accommodate a 3 bedroom family of 4 for the long move. My husband and I took 2 days packing the truck so that everything was fitted precisely and would not tumble over during our trip as we knew that we had to cross several mountain ranges and hundreds of hills on the way. first day of travel went fine. 2nd day is when the truck began to act up. As my husband was driving (with me following in our vehicle) all of a sudden the gas would lose complete power as we would up any sort of incline. whether it was a small or a large hill, he had to continuously pump the acceleration in order to make it up, all while going 30mph max speed. Through Utah, Colorado, NM, and Texas nearly 80% of our trip was spent putting myself, husband, our 2 kids, and our pets in danger as we had to drive in the emergency lane up and down hills; because coming down hills the truck would not shift out of gear. We called U-hauls road side assistance and they had to come out twice to try and see what the issue was. All they really do is hook up the computer to read if there are any error codes and of course, they couldn't find anything and both mechanics just kinda shrugged their shoulders and said- sorry, we don't know what the issue is. One Mechanic said that by our description of the driving it sounded like it was an issue with an inadequate fuel pump but unless WE wanted to drive it out of our way and get it checked out at a Ford dealership able to handle a truck this size, there was nothing they could do. Other than that, we were recommended to drive slowly, and stop often to allow the truck to cool. The only solution offered was to tow the truck to a dealership for repair and/or switch trucks......which they make sound sooooo easy as you have ALL of your house packed, and entire family plus pets on the road. I'm sorry; but I am to allowing my entire house to be towed and my belonging ruined in the process. Nor am I hanging out a hotel for God knows how long before I allow strangers to unpack and repack my entire house hold that it took my husband I (who care about our belongings) 2 full days to just pack it When we picked up this truck in Eugene we were told we were luck because this was one of their newer trucks...we were far from lucky with it! It took us twice as long on our already long journey. Plus the added stress and frustration driving slowly, up hill, with our hazards on the whole way in the emergency lane with semi-trucks and traffic whizzing by us!! Extremely unsafe! Due to the unsafe driving and late arrival I started my new job 2 weeks later than originally planned and almost missed out on the opportunity all together. We lost out on the house we were going to rent which meant we had to spend extra money and time for our family to live out of suitcases and hotel, plus the added expenses of housing applications, food, and fuel, etc. This truck made our trip a nightmare. I was told by the GM that he would not consider any reimbursement until the truck was able to get into a shop to be looked at....what BS! Our family was put into dangerous circumstances multiple times through out this trip BECAUSE we were given a truck not able to handle the hills of a long trip. Then he has the audacity to tell me that because they offered to service the truck while we were on the road and offered a new truck he could only do $350. Really?!! my hotel bill just for the extra week was $600 plus all the other added expenses that came with this!! Not to mention the 2 weeks in lost wages due to starting a job late- The cost of the truck was just over $1,600 and U-haul didn't even cover our extra hotel cost. I wrote the GM explaining all of this but he has not replied. Just be fully aware and pray that you have ZERO issues if you do have to rent from this place- because if you do.....you will have to fight tooth and nail and then be made to feel like it's YOUR fault. read more

This location always has a good amount of trucks. With my business, we need at least a 20' truck once a week. We typically rent trucks from this location depending on where the job is for that week and we have never had issues with them. I have heard plenty of horror story about U-Haul and braced myself when I decided I'd use one of their trucks to move this time around. This location has outstanding customer service. It takes a fair share of time to get through the line but not because the staff is slacking. When you rent a big piece of equipment from somewhere, you're going to have a lot of paperwork and disclaimers that are involved. The crew is well trained, they can talk fast enough to be understood but without lallygagging and dragging it out. When I got there on Saturday they were using all three terminals to help people, with two crew members manning the operation. That's pretty impressive and shows that they'll use all their resources allotted to them, it's just not feasible to have another person behind the counter, regardless of how much the grumpy-pants dickhole in front of me the next day thought it was super necessary to complain about. Here's a hint. If you want to do something as quickly as possible, know how to find answers out prior to arriving. You can also try that handy thing called listening/reading when the nice folks are talking to you about the contract you're signing and how the costs break down. Yeah, it's going to cost you more than the 19.95 that is advertised on the window of a truck, that's the base fee, it's per-mile, d-holes. I've rented here several times over the last few years and I've always gotten good service.

I've never been treated so rudely when I was dropping off here. I will say whoever made my reservation and helped me when I picked/hooked up was really great (Hence the 3 stars) but when I dropped off it was a whole 'nother story. I get that they were busy, but really no excuse to be rude. A few employees walked by my car without saying anything then a male employee came up to my car while I was waiting in line without a word and starts unhooking the trailer I rented, it was a bit weird as he didn't even give me any indication that's what he was doing or making sure my car was in park. I ask "do you need me to go inside and finish any paperwork?" And his response was a curt "I need you to leave" and he walks off. They need to remember people don't always know the process. read more

Just cancelled my reservation. I had requested a truck and trailer pair, they gave me a pickup location over 30 miles from the original location I requested. At $.99 per mile charge for the truck this would have been over and extra $60 charge. U-haul wouldn't even consider taking this charge off from my bill. Talk about bait and switch. read more

Uhaul scheduling here is absolutely horrible!! I'm never using Uhaul again!! I scheduled my uhaul 4 weeks in advance for 8am on Saturday and I get a message less than 18 hours before my 8am pickup that I will now be picking up my uhaul at 4pm on Saturday. WHAT THE HECK?!?! And let me tell you the way they contacted me was through an email....They didn't call me, they didn't talk to me in person at all (which is what they are supposed to do to "guarantee" the pick up time. My entire move was ruined because of uhaul. Everything was set back and unfortunately when I called uhaul all they said was "I'm so sorry there are no trucks at all available in your town" then when I went to pick up the uhaul at 4pm the next day there were 9 yes I counted, 9 uhauls parked at this location doing absolutely nothing. I was going to rent a pickup truck to haul some material around town. I wanted a truck for the day and the customer service person was trying to push me towards only a few hours. I expected a reasonsble charge...but was quoted $20 plus .69 cents per mile and replace the gas you use. I'm sure there are more charges this pushy sales person would have added but I was already irritated..In addition to that I had stupidly had given them my phone number to get these quotes and now they're calling me trying to get my business when I already said nevermind. I also asked them what the loading capacity was and it was under 2000lbs...so this kinda charge for some dump old ford that can't handle more than a desk. No thanks. read more

The most frustrating part was the attitude of the "representative", the options given were to cancel or use the truck that is way bigger than needed. We were given only 23 hours to pack the entire house and no moving crew due to Uhaul's screw up. . Got past that nonsense now in my new state 1800 miles away their now telling me that they can't deliver my boxes to me until a week later. How am I supposed to cook, sleep and send my kids to school if we have absolutely no furniture beds or cookware. Steer clear of the U-haul on W 7th, or possible all U-haul locations. Our U-haul truck had coffee spilled all over the cab by whoever used it previously. The U-haul employee Nathan L. told us "please" and "thank you" are not in his vocabulary, double charged me because he didn't know what he was doing, called my elderly mother stupid for not knowing when to sign, shorted us time on a 24 hour rental, as well as other errors and falsifications on the rental contract. He tried to play it all off as if he was doing us huge favors and we were just to stupid to realize. I did all the calculations the night before (milage, truck size, etc.), and did the pre-check in online which was supposed to cut the time in half when we came in to get our truck. It actually took way longer because Nathan had to re-do the check in 3 times. Even though there was no line we were there for around 30 minutes. I got the distinct impression Nathan was just pushing his rudeness as far as he possibly could because he thought there would be no consequences to him, since he was alone in the store with myself and my elderly mom. I really dk why he was acting so horribly towards us, because we are extremely easy going people, but he was just plain mean. He acted quite differently once his co-worker entered, but still was not even polite. I feel bad for people who have to work with this guy. I will never use U-haul again and will be warning away all my friends and relatives as well. read more

All he kept saying was well it's on your contract. And you didn't bring the stuff back in time. And I kept saying but I didn't say 9pm she just wrote it and didn't say anything. But again he says well it's in your contract so there is another period charge. Useless Horrible customer service. WORST employees. If you wanna feel like a piece of sh*t then go to this location and look at how they HATE explaining themselves. Their lack of energy and care. It's like they're forced to work lol JUST don't work there then. You make customers feel like sh*t and you don't know what you're doing. I was extremely angry at them. Charged me double for rental just for an extra 2 hours that I didn't agree on. Scammers. Snakes. Expensive. I think because of my chat with customer service they pulled a revenge plan on me and decided to call saying I didn't drop off the key last night...even though I did. I want this to be expressed as logically and rationally as possible, for the benefit of future consumer awareness. This is a BBB situation. Toronto/Hamilton/ Burlington location. My family (wife, newborn, cat, and myself) scheduled a move two weeks in advance and also booked 5star rated movers through Uhaul site. Day prior to my booking they called me and moved my pickup location 3 cities away. This change despite my booking a truck walking distance from my old home for ease with the young family. I therefore had to adjust and pick it up after hours. Uhaul then screwed up my pickup time and I had to change that. Another hour long wait on the phone. Finally, When I packed my newborn and wife into the car to pickup the truck at midnight, after being on hold twice already for over two hours, we arrived at the location. The middle of nowhere in the middle of the night. Once again, a third time, I was on hold as the app had not allowed me to pick up the truck as the second agent had said it would. Once reaching the third agent, an hour later, sitting in vacant lot with newborn In The middle of the night, the agent told me there was never a truck anywhere for me. There was nothing they could do. Back In The car and drove home the three cities, now 2:30 am. Movers scheduled for 7am. No truck. Work the next day. Absolutely zero compassion or care from uhaul. In fact, the arrogance from the American call centres was rage inducing. Now, uhaul web page will not allow me to place a review to assist those future families, as they say is a priority of theirs. Uhaul, you completely let me down, screwed with my family, my job, my newborn, led us into unsafe situations for a truck which was never there. About 50% of your staff were complete jerks. How do you live with yourself? Families depend on you in a very vulnerable time. Will I ever see my refund for the movers who I couldn't use do to your botching my reservation? In an attempt to save some money. We uesd the uhaul moving package. We were assured that we could return the unused parts of the package. Imagine our suprize when we went to return the unused boxes and packaging and were told that we could not return the unused boxes and packaging because we ordered a package online and was filled at local uhaul office. If we ordered the package at the store we could get refund. The local store will not refund my money if you order from uhaul.com. just another example of big companies ripping off people. Simply do not use uhaul for your shipping needs. You will get ripped off. read more
