I'm glad I checked the yelp ratings before renting a moving truck ...and based on that chose Penske…read more(over the slightly closer U-Haul). booking (online) was easy & quick, check-in was quick & uncomplicated (not a bunch of forms to fill out - just hand over my DL and credit card). the truck was nice & clean. and - beyond what could be expected in my mind - I especially appreciated that: 1) they let me switch to a larger truck when I realized (at pickup!) that the 12' truck might be just a tad tight. no fuss no muss and they just went right ahead and switched me to a 16'er, and for the same price to boot! :-) 2) I was moving in town and gonna put only about 10 miles on the truck, making 'topping off the gas' (for maybe 1 gallon) an inefficient hassle. so they just charged me a fair price for the gas (40c/mile, $4 for 1 gallon, I think) and didn't try to turn it into another profit element... ...but earned themselves a glowing review instead :-)

But I digress I've recently moved, and to move, I typically get a uhaul. I don't have a driver's license so I had my friend pick up the truck and to avoid any hiccups, I asked to pay in advance. So I gave the associate I spoke to on the phone my credit card number, and he assured I'd be charged in advance and there would be no issues. I called several other times to ask if everything was all right, and was assured by the clown car of idiots I spoke to on the phone that everything was going off without a hitch. Turns out, my rental was NOT paid for in advance like I had asked and been repeatedly assured that it was, and my friend had to pay on his credit card instead. And now, despite the fact that I did everything right, made multiple verification calls and was told repeatedly that this was taken care of, the jackass who asked me to recite my credit card information to him apparently didn't enter the information into their computer system, and are now refusing to correct the mistake. It is appalling not only that customer service experiences like this happen at all, it is doubly appalling that they just seem to keep happening, with no end in sight. Seriously, avoid this location like the plague.

I made a reservation the day before, it was the most conveniently located based on my needs. Little did we know....we walked inside to do the pick up and the gas station employee informed me that this was a self help location.  He told us to go outside and figure it out and that we might get mad during the process, but there was absolutely nothing he could do to help me. Long story short, the website nor the app could generate my location, even though we checked on my phone that my location was allowed. So I called the 800#. There was nothing he could do to help me. They ended up booking me a truck at another truck across town. When we got to the Glenwood location. They were wonderful and they felt so bad for me when I told them what happened,  that they have me a $10 discount to say they were sorry for what we'd been through.  Just beware that a neighborhood location means you pay the same price, but tough luck no service or help. Why would Uhaul what this place to ruin their reputation? Uhaul would be wise to revoke their franchise. When the employee tells you you're going to get mad during the process, that's a red flag that they are aware of a problem.  But won't do anything to fix it.

The site looks like an equipment yard and facilities are modest at best but it keeps overhead low.

They informed me after I purchased my airline ticket that there was not going to be a van there waiting for me or was ever going to. Budgets 800 number does not communicate with actual pickup locations. When I spoke to Leon and told him our dilemma he immediately found a van that was an hour and a half away and got it there a day early for us .
