When you trust a dealer enough to purchase an RV over the phone and in the end it shoots you in the foot. Not a care or concern or reply from Darin at Trades Ok, Inc of all the damage I found and what they covered up on the truck Camper they sold me. The entire roof was sunk in from the a/c back to the front door. Trades ok added spacers to the skylights internally because Lance's have thinner roofs and require a taller skylight. They used cheap skylights and even used random screws so long that the screw came INTO ceiling hallway about 1/2". Also, when I turned on the shower and water pump to test the water system I noticed water gushes out of the underbelly, the pipe was completely detached (pics). Ignoring an upset sales customer is the worst thing you can do vs resolving the issue with a disappointed buyer and making things RIGHT. BBB has been contacted and the FTC. My phone is on! read more

My personal opinion: RUN, DON'T WALK, AWAY! I reached out very politely to inquire about a specific camper I was interested in purchasing. I live 3.5 hours away and wanted to get some info before I made the time investment into traveling to this dealership to see the vehicle. Here's my inquiry: I wanted to reach out to see if there is any flexibility on the pricing for this campervan. Additionally, I would require an RV mechanic to check out the vehicle. Darin's response: I know I'm priced really right on this like new rig. So Right I'm going to lose money on it when it sells but that's ok I've had a great year. I'm going to stick to my price and i challenge you to find one priced better. I don't know if thiscrvcwas ever camped in. We drove it 3500 miles apx back here from Florida. Worst purchase! The reviews with regards to the owner Darin are pretty accurate. He is incredibly rude and if you don't convince him your a serious buyer he doesn't want to deal with you. I was ready to make a purchase and asked to test drive. I was met with a deafening silence and he told me only if am going to buy it. I should have listened to my gut and walked away. If your going to purchase and RV from this business I would consider getting your own inspection top to bottom for the following: - Broke down (alternator/battery issues) - fantastic fan issues -shore power casing completely severed. -black gunk in drain. Sink didnt drain. How is this missed during an inspection? -generator ran out of oil very quickly. I find it hard to believe it was even serviced or inspected properly. -curtain fixture falling apart. -bulge in house batteries Its been non-stop trying to keep up with repairs. I questioned him as to why the shore power cord was severed and they didn't say anything to me. His response was "your questioning my integrity and I was making him mad". I essentially broke down in over 100 degree temp with a sick dog. And I was on my way to Alaska which never happened as my confidence in the reliability of this vehicle and the additional expenses pretty much ended that. The icing on the cake....he totally ghosted me and won't return my calls or messages since 8/11. Don't expect him to stand behind his product and it be worthwhile to get your own inspection. I purchased a 2006 sprinter class B RV after just a video call. Darin sent me a written mechanical inspection and RV tech inspection beforehand. We walked through the video call and I asked for a few minor repairs such as clearing the gauges for the tanks and adding a curtain rod to the bathroom. Additionally, they fixed minor wear and tear items prior to pick up. He was very receptive and responsive leading up to my flight to Oregon to pick it up! First time trailer purchase, so did some research online and spoke to several friends who have trailers/rvs. All recommendations are to purchase from an individual and not a dealer. Looking at dealer reviews, most are 2 stars and below with tons of issues. Not so with Trades OK, so I decided to at least have the conversation and view the vehicle in person. It was a big drive, but I am so glad I did. The trailer was exactly as described and pictured. I just picked up my beautiful Pleasure Way and could hardly wait to get home to write a review for this company, Darin, and Steven. I'm not sure why there were ANY negative reviews about these guys because my experience with both of them was outstanding. They went out of their way initially to help me determine what rig was best for me, helped me search for one, patiently answered my continuing and long-winded questions, and then we put the deal together. AND they will register it for me. The whole process could not have been easier. The other thing I really like about them is I am a single woman and they never treated me with anything but respect. They never tried to up-sell me, either, where most other RV places had. The only "negative" is they are so good and their inventory (typically Class B) is so exceptional that they are swamped - especially now with camping season underway. They claim to be a small, family business but don't expect to see the owner, just a picture of his feet propped up at the pool. The salesman was the stereotypical, fast-talking sleaze. They "can't find the keys right now" when you ask to look in outside storage areas. When the keys are located after you insist--there is obvious and extensive water damage that they downplay. We purchased a used motor home from trades ok in February, 2019. We got it home and found the refrigerator wasn't working. We had it repaired, turned out it needed a new circuit board which was pretty speedy. We contacted Darrin and sent him a copy of the invoice, he was very nice and sent a check to reimburse us for the repairs. Buying a used RV is a lot like buying a used car. Most dealers you visit seem so dishonest and are willing to do anything to make a sale. I can tell you Darin at Trade ok is not like that at all. He made the experience a pleasure, and I will certainly return when it is time to buy another RV. I want to say I had been to three other dealers in the Portland area and was not comfortable with buying anything used from them. It is worth the drive to Eugene. He operates by appointment only so you know that you will not be standing around waiting to talk to someone. When I arrived I told him what I was looking for and the amount of money I wanted to spend. He did not try to show me something bigger or for more money. I had never owned an RV so I had lots of questions which he answered willingly. After looking at several I narrowed my choices to two, which I then drove. He then pointed out the pros and cons of both and I made my choice after going home and thinking about it. I called him told him what I wanted. He then had the unit all cleaned up and had an RV Tec. Go through it making some minor repairs that were found. The following weekend I took the bus down from Portland and he picked me up and took me to his lot. There he again took the time to show me how things worked. There is no guarantee with any used RV, but I felt Darin was honest and lowered the risk of getting a bad deal. They were so wonderful to come and pick us up when we arrived in town, and take us over to their RV. lot. When we realized we had driven away without the power cord for our RV, they quickly ordered us a new cord and had it shipped to our home. You really could not find better customer service. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was that the RV interior really wasn't cleaned very well. I highly recommend this dealer to anyone wanting to purchase an RV. I am amending this review as of August 2017. We have not had a chance to use our motorhome until now due to family issues but in preparing for a long trip, we have discovered paperwork showing that this RV had been in an accident that required considerable repairs. This was not disclosed during the sales process and we obviously have no recourse. In addition, none of the AC outlets are working and the refrigerator is not working in the AC mode. Horrible experience today in trying to buy an RV. Called and made the required appointment, then drove 3 hours and arrived 5 minutes early to look at several units on their website. While looking at the first one, my husband and I mentioned driving it, and was rudely told, "we don't do test drives". If I'm spending 40K, I think I want to drive the rig first. Ok, so we agree we will continue to look, and finally found one that would work for us. Talking to my husband while I'm looking at features, he asks about financing and my husband says no, we'll pay cash for the right rig, but mentions that all their RV's are at least 5 to 6K over high NADA price. He now rudely tells us, he doesn't negotiate price like a used car business (which they basically are). Asked him how he arrived at price, go in and has other guy run NADA which shows their price is 6K over high book price. I would never buy from them even if they had the perfect vehicle. He needs to take a business class and a customer service class. Basically he has no class..... read more

This is a small company located across the road from Camping World in Eugene, OR. They specialize in used B Vans/Motorhomes. They have good quality, low mileage vehicles and they are fair and honest. We have purchased two B Vans from them and are very happy with the transactions, the vehicles, and the trade-in that they gave us when we purchased the second van. Darin is great to work with, as is his brother, Brian. If they don't have what you want, they will try to find it for you. They do checks on the RVs and fix whatever is in need of fixing. They are very personable and they know a lot about RVs. They sometimes have larger Motorhomes and trailers. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a small motorhome. read more

I just bought a used Sportsmobile camper van from Darin at TradesOk RV and feel like I got the right vehicle at a good value. I agree with Karen S who also posted a review. Darin is a decent guy and not at all like the many con artists and scammers out there trying to sell these kinds of vehicles. Many RV sellers seem pretty slimy and some are obviously rolling back odometers or selling salvage vehicles. In contrast, Darin was upfront and reasonable over the phone and in person. I never thought he was lying to me. What he told me about the vehicle exactly matched the CarFax report that I brought with me. I drove the van home feeling like I got a good vehicle and a good value and had had a good, quick purchasing experience. The price I paid was less than other sellers were asking for similar models that were older, higher-mileage, and much worse condition - including By Owner sellers on Craigslist. I had never met Darin or heard of TradeOk prior to this purchase, but I would buy from Darin again. I purchased my first RV in Spring of 2017 from Darin at Trades OK. I had spent a lot of time researching RVs and had been to some other dealers and I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted. I found my dream machine at a price I could afford on his lot and then was really bummed when I found out he had already sold it by the time I called. But he encouraged me to come down and see what else he had. I was really stuck on my idea of the perfect RV model and when I met with Darin, he asked me a lot of questions about what I wanted. It turned out that he had a better recommendation and when I did see the model I had been so stuck on, I realized that it wasn't as good as his recommendation. At first I even refused his recommendation because it had two single twins and I wanted at least a queen sized bed. But Darin worked with my needs and actually paid for a modification to have the option to turn the two twin beds into a king sized bed. So I ended up getting a great RV with everything I wanted and things I didn't even realize I wanted and a bigger bed to boot! Darin spent a lot of time showing me how everything worked, allowed me to have it independently inspected and was always straight up with me. He's also been available since the purchase to answer my questions and offer advice. I would totally recommend working with him. I said I had my choice narrowed down to only 19' rigs, had looked at their online inventory and saw several I liked but needed to see them in person, narrow it down further by checking out the layouts to see what worked, and test drive my final choice before purchasing. He then asked me who would be coming with me, a husband? I said not the first visit -- I'd be the main one using the rig so I want to narrow down the choices by myself first (my husband is working while I am retired so I can look anytime but he can't) and would bring my husband for the final look before we write a check. That's perfectly reasonable, don't you think? Not to the guy at Trades OK! Nope, he wouldn't let me come in by myself first then bring my husband after I'd narrowed the choice down. Husband had to be there with me the first visit. What century do these people live in, anyway? I was a willing and ready buyer, and after talking to this guy I will never do business with Trades OK ... because they are far from OK in how they view buyers. We had shown interest in one of Darin's vans but were honest that were currently based in San Francisco and that we would have to make a trip up to know for sure if we wanted to purchase - he still took the time to answer all of our questions and was patient with all of our phone calls. For anyone considering purchasing a used RV from Trades Okay, I thought you might benefit from reading about my experience. This review is late in coming because until about 3 days ago I was still getting some major repairs done. I had been looking for a Pleasure Way mobile home for some time and they are very hard to find on the east coast. I test drove one in VA and liked the way the Chevy chassis drove, so when I found one out in Oregon that looked promising I called and spoke to and face-timed with the owner of Trades Okay, Darin, going over all the specifics and being assured everything was in good working order. He did point out a few things, but nothing major. I put a deposit on the 2004 PW Lexor TD and had a week to travel to Oregon to check it out. Davin was going to be on vacation, so he turned me over to his associate, Steve. When I arrived, no one was on the lot, but I saw the RV and began an outside inspection. The first thing I noticed was that although the tires did indeed have tread, they look dried out and cracked in between the tread (especially noticeable on the front two tires). When Steve came to introduce himself, it was the first thing I pointed out. I told Steve that I was afraid to drive on them in their current state and was assured that they should be just fine. They gave me $150 credit towards replacing the front two tires. The van had not been prepped for sale, it was not cleaned or aired out and Steve eventually apologized and admitted that he forgot that I was coming that day. I arrived at 9 am and he was helping me and another out of town purchaser at the same time, which was confusing and time-consuming for all of us. The a/c wasn't working correctly & I was told it just needed a new rheostat. They gave me a $150 credit towards replacing that part. I pointed out that the RV was advertised as converting to a full bed but the center cushion was missing so it could only be used as the twins. The table in the back was missing as well, but they would not make any other price adjustments & told me I could replace those missing parts through Pleasure Way (not so) . The locks on the cargo doors were also not working properly. I was worn out and worn down so after 3pm I took my new van and hit the road. At 11 pm my front left tire blew out - exploded! Thank the Lord it was that late because there were very few people on the road. It was also a miracle that I didn't end up in the ditch on the side of the highway. I spent 8 1/2 hours on the side of the road that night waiting for a tow (& yes, I did have AAA! I found out that night that in my state, they don't cover RVs.) It cost me $240 to get towed to a tire place, it cost me the day as well as $1120 to have all four tires replaced. There was no way in the world I was going to continue my trek home to the east coast without replacing all the tires which were deemed unsafe by me, the tow truck driver and of course the tire shop. The high cost had to do with my request for all weather tires and local availability, but there was no way $150 would have paid to replace even two tires for that vehicle. Unfortunately, only two scenarios present themselves to me here: they knew the tires were bad and sold me that RV in a dangerous condition anyway, or, they couldn't tell and don't have the expertise to be selling used RVs. Since that time, I have had the following expenses for this RV, which I was assured had been completely checked out was in good working order: Tow $ 240 Tires 1120 New coach battery 140 " circuit breaker 70 Replace center cushions 55 Windshield washer jet & container & fluid 107 (was not working on my trip home) Replacing inoperable Cargo locks 36 (still not all replaced due to availability) Freshwater hose and adapter 185 New air conditioner $1400 (I had a Dometic Svc center work on this unit 3 times & finally had to replace it, just completed 4 days ago) Labor charges for some of the above 400 I have thus far spent: $3,753 I have also been working on tracking down a water leak coming in from behind the refrigerator and hoping that does not turn into a major expense. While I believe that both Darin and Steve are very nice men to deal with, I also believe that this RV had not been adequately inspected or repaired before it was sold to me, although I had been told otherwise. Bottom line: buyer beware, as much as you'd like to believe people are being up front and dealing fairly with you. In hindsight, I probably should have flown home. read more

Do NOT do NOT do NOT buy from this dealer. His customer service was terrible and he was one of the most arrogant and disrespectful owner/sellers I have ever dealt with. For someone who owns their own business he should know that it's not a 9-5 bankers hours venture. Especially in RV sales. People come to buy on weekends and evenings, not middle of the day. Those that come buy or make appointments for then should be a sign that they have money, are serious buyers and have a job to pay for stuff like RV's. Those who don't are probably at garage sales. Not sure if Darin has a twin brother or not, but this guy wasn't even close to what reviews I read. The Darin I dealt with was a disrespectful jerk. He wasted my time twice. First off contact on the phone was ok to start but then he kept saying over and over that he didn't want to come in on a Saturday (at 3 pm) to sell an RV and that he had already sold 3 that day, so he was too tired and made his deals for the day. I actually had to talk him into coming in to meet with me. When we met he again said "I really don't want to be here" I'm making an exception for you. Like he was doing me a favor. Strike one!! We seemed to smooth things out a bit then proceeded to check out the 2000 Winnebago Chieftain. He knew little about this unit and down played the damages found and noted. I left feeling like this might be the RV I wanted to buy despite Darin's ignorance and his poor attitude. We made an appointment to meet this morning at 9 am (Sunday). I arrived late, my bad, but did call Darin at 9 am to let him know I was on my way. When I arrived there was another customer in the lot who wanted to look at some of his inventory but Darin rudely told him no and said he was just dealing with me today. As much as I appreciate that, I saw it as poor customer service and rude, as did this new potential customer. The customer wanted to look at some other inventory so I had to speak up on the man's behalf and suggest that Darin let me look at the Winnie on my own for a bit while he took some time to show the other new customer some of the other units. That guy quickly left and seemed to be put off by Darin's attitude as well. Darin again stated that he really didn't want to be here to deal with anymore customers. Darin came back to be in the unit with me while I inspected the interior. Again he stated that he didn't want to be here. As I went thru the unit I noticed mice poop in multiple cabinets of the unit, black mold, rotted black wood and carpeting, water stains on the inside near the ceiling and walls and some small crunchy spots near the water leak areas. Ad says no leaks. That is a lie. As I pointed this out to Darin and talked with him about this he seemed to be put off and told me that I was too picky. I told him that he was being rude, dishonest about the unit and giving poor customer service. He again proceeded to say that he didn't want to be there and that I was making stuff up about my discoveries. I told him that this is like buying a house, I'm not going to just give you $20K and trust you. Especially so now post his demeanor. We then got into an argument and I chose to leave after driving 30 minutes to get there. He wasted my time and was a complete jerk. I've owned 4 RV's. I've done sales work before at a international corporate level. I have sales training and experience. And have worked in public service for over 30 years and was raised in a household with a excellent example of what a executive sales manager with honest integrity should look like. This guy was a joke. He acted like a jerk and was dishonest about his inventory. He didn't like having these defects pointed out to him and was very disrespectful. He lied, misrepresented and has terrible interpersonal skills. He's looking for non diligent customers that he can hood wink or take advantage of. He's the stereotypical sketchy salesman who's looking for fast buck without care or concern for his customers. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER NO MATTER WHAT!!! Terrible experience, dishonest owner, self serving agenda and not customer oriented. Be a diligent and savoy buyer. The shyster's, like Darin, are still out there looking for easy prey. They are treating those who ask questions to call their bluffs, point out devaluing defects or being smart buyers like crap. DO NOT TRUST guys like Darin. Not a man of respect or integrity at all. I can't say enough about my experience with Darin. I had seen a PW on his website and called - however, it was sold, but he put me on his "list" to notify me when he got in a PW in super condition with low miles in my price range. Sure enough in a few weeks I received his call about a 2002 PW. He told me about it and I arranged a time to drive down (6 hours) to view it (in pouring rain). It was perfect for me. He had a mechanic look it over and gave me the report, along with RV mechanic report. As a single/female, I was so nervous about trusting a seller. My son picked it up for me and drove it home. A few bumps in the road, but Darin responded immediately (nothing serious). I so appreciated the fast response from Darin and the trust factor - that he did what he said he would do. Although I haven't gone any where in it ,...yet - I feel confident I didn't get a lemon and paid a fair price. It was easy to deal with Darin. read more

I live in Florida and looked for my first RV for a year before I found the perfect one - in Oregon, at Trades OK. Even after talking to the owner (Darin Gorham) on the phone several times I was extremely nervous about sending $XX,000 for a vehicle I had never seen in person, plus it was going to have to be driven out to me if I bought it, and the whole thing just felt sketchy. In fact, he was pretty convinced I wasn't going to get up the courage to purchase this way, but I did. I wired the money against my bank's advice, my friends' advice, etc.; just hoping like heck that when It arrived it would be as promised. And it WAS. It has been AWESOME. I feel I got a really good deal and couldn't be happier with my experience with Darin. Despite the fact that I am almost 3000 miles away I got the personalized attention and service I needed. He always made himself available by phone - although he is very busy so we had to make phone appointments. His patience was impressive, and it arrived spotless, and exactly like the pics I had seen. I am delighted I decided to trust him. He is truly a businessman with integrity and a man of his word. I would never hesitate to recommend him or do business with him again. read more
