Rating = F - - - If I could leave 0 stars I would, but I can't. I just moved back to the greater Eugene area from Las Vegas. In the process my truck broke down. The shop I chose to take my truck to recommended Baby Face Towing. I called to schedule a tow at 11:30 am. The person who answered the phone was slurring his words so bad I could barely understand him. He said he could not be there until after 4 pm so he would have time to pick up his child from school. Since my truck was parked in a safe place (a relatives house) and the repair shop (only 12 miles away from said relatives house) closed at 5, I told him that would be fine. Mind you said relatives house was 45 minutes away from my location. I arrived at the location of the truck at 3:50 to meet Baby Face towing and proceeded to wait until 4:45 when I finally received a phone call saying he was still 10 minutes away because he had gone on another call. I said no problem, then continued to wait, and wait, AND WAIT for another HOUR when I received another phone call with another excuse. Someone had supposedly removed the tools from his truck and he had to go back to the shop to get them?? Wait, I thought you were just on another call? What other tools do you need. The driver (who ended up being the same person I spoke with on the phone at 11:30 am slurring his words) FINALLY showed up at 6:15pm, still slurring his words. He then proceeded to tell me what a pain this tow was going to be because it was an automatic transmission and he would have to disconnect the drive train because it was too tall to put on the flat bed. Since the transmission was the problem anyway, I offered to let him tow it WITHOUT disconnecting the drive train at which point he reaffirmed that there would not be a discount... he wanted to be paid the additional fee to disconnect the drive train for work he was not even going to do! I told him I thought this was absolutely ridiculous and that I should be receiving a discount for having to wait for him all day, let alone LESS WORK. He wanted sympathy for trying to make money for his family by making me wait while he went out on other jobs. What about the time I spent waiting for Baby Face Towing that I could have spent making money for MY family?? I had enough. I told him to leave, at which point he tried to charge me his FULL FEE. I refused, so he threatened to hook up my truck anyway and tow to police impound. I reminded him he was on private property, trespassing at this point, offered to call the police for him myself, and he finally left. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Baby Face towing to anyone. In fact would pay DOUBLE whatever Baby Face wants to any other towing company simply to not have to deal with the biggest self employed jerk I have met in a long time. You have to EARN the money I pay you for your service; you don't just get to show up whenever you want and demand it because you have a truck. There are a lot of other trucks out there that can do the exact same job with drivers, owners, and employees who actually care about the service they provide. read more

If I call a tow truck I call Babyface towing. I called and got my Lexus towed yesterday with a flat tire. Whether it's my Lexus or a work truck, my vehicle is cared for. The tow truck is in good working order and capable of loading lowered vehicles. Best price you will get anywhere from local tow companies. Very professional, takes cash or card payment, good response time and great conversation on the drive to destination. read more

I wish i could give a lower score! Seriously made us wait in a hot car for 2 hours before showing up when he told me 30 minutes. Waited an hour to call and say he was 20 minutes away (because he got stuck in the yard by an @$$hole customer, his words) and still took almost an hour to get here. We told him we had 2 people that would be riding in the truck. He brought a girl with him. Said we would just cram in the truck. No thanks. I stayed behind and waited for a ride.Hasn't bathed in months by the smell and appearance. Would never recommend or use this company again. And don't even get me started on the ghetto tow truck that I was scared to let my vehicle leave on. Could have offered a discount for making us wait 2 hours and bringing someone with him that prevented there from being enough seats in the truck. read more

Honestly, I didn't want to be reviewing towing companies on my one day in Eugene. I don't own a car, but borrowed my dad's and it is a hybrid and wouldn't start, and I really felt helpless. Baby face gave a clear quote, and was only $40 to tow any where in Eugene! He was there in twenty minutes. We couldn't get the car in neutral because the battery was dead and hybrids are different, so he had to tow it a different way. It took him probably an extra twenty minutes, but he was super nice and so very careful with my dads car. He didn't even hint I should give him more because it was a much harder job than he initially thought. I gave him an extra 10, just because that felt fair (and I didn't have much more). I'm really grateful that he was so reasonable and took such care. I would highly recommend him! read more

Wow. Kind of Scary.....I was on the side of the tow truck owner until the last statement. I have a little legal experience myself....I am sure that you can not lein someone for services not rendered. If you show up and don't hook-up, I DO believe you have no merit in a claim. However, I would not want to engage with a towing company that had that much drama with a client AND THEN WANTED TO DISCUSS IT in an open forum. read more

I called around to a few shops in the area and Baby Face Towing was by far the cheapest. I was wondering why they were so cheap, as a lot of the other towing companies were charging upwards of $120 for a tow that was less than 5 miles! Usually cheaper isn't always better, but in this case, boy was I wrong! Beyond wonderful service and a wonderful family man! Roger and his awesome daughter helped us tow our little car with extreme care and consideration. However, it doesn't end there, he was kind enough to pick us up, take us to the car, tow the car, and then drop us back off. If we had more money to tip him, we would've for his outstanding service. By far, if we ever need another tow, he gladly has our service, as well as anyone else's that we can recommend. My vehicle wouldn't start this morning and I called my garage I deal with to see if he can look at it today. He was busy but could sneek it in if I got it there within 2 hours. I called my usual tow company but they were 4 hours out. So I found BBFT online and called Roger. First he doesn't bill my insurance direct. Second, he asked for cash but after I told him I'd have to give him a check he asked if I could make it out to him and not the business. I said fine and he said he was on his way and would be here in 30 mins. Two hours later I call to see where he's at and no answer. I get a call back 45 mins later and he said he hadn't left yet that his tow trucks batteries were dead and he was waiting for someone to give him a jump! I was impressed with the flexibility of Baby Face towing. I had a car towed from Salem to Eugene and had to reschedule at the last minute (literally, the tow truck was in Salem when I called to reschedule!). We used BFT a few weeks ago when our van broke down. While towing it home, my husband offered to edit the commercial for Roger, the owner, since Roger said that business was bad and couldn't afford a professional editing service. We paid Roger for his towing services and the next day, my husband worked all day on the commercial. Roger told him the following day (via email) that he was having someone else edit it and that was it. My husband wasn't mad, he liked the expierence of editing. Last night, my husband called Roger to arrange a tow for our van to the shop at 9:00am this morning. At 9:45, whe Roger STILL HADN'T shown up,my husband called Roger to see if he was still coming to tow. He recieved this text message: "Nope. I am not doing any more tows for u. U will have to call someone else. Don't call baby face towing for any reason anymore. Bye." Not only did the OWNER NOT SHOW UP for a PAYING job but he TEXTED this. I do not recommend anyone using Baby Face Towing. Roger Haugen (Owner) quoted a good price for a lock-out so I hired him. The Technician that was sent to do the work took 30 minutes to unlock the car. After he finished and I paid him, I discovered that the device the Tech used scratched up the center console of my car around the unlock switch. Roger's Tech didn't initially take responsibility until pressed and confronted that I noticed he used a metal tool that was not covered in plastic like the other he had tried. I phoned Roger later and informed of situation. Roger admitted that he had spoken to his Tech about my situation. After I told him what happened, Roger admitted that his Tech was trained to not use the tool he did. Additionally, Roger admitted that he forgot to ask when the call came in what kind of vehicle it was. Come to find out, according to Roger, they were not supposed to even work on BMW's. If they were not authorized to work on my BMW car, I am left to wonder why the Tech proceeded in attempting to do the job anyway. Roger refused to take care of his Tech's damage inflicted on my car. Roger cited that they charge only a small amount and that since they do so much for the community that he has a hard time staying in business already. Roger suggested that I just "deal with my one scratch (there were more like 20-30) and keep driving around in my BMW - not worried about the kids in the community". Roger's lack of professionalism, poor training of his technician, and utter disregard for customer service during my experience with him, not only ensures that I will never use him again, but anyone I know will be encouraged to never use him in the future. Buyers beware of this low-cost towing company and business owner that may damage your car and refuse to correct admitted mistakes. read more
