It wasn't covered by warranty but containued to tell the the part wason back order. Totally lied to me vs telling me it wasn't covered???? What's up with that. So decided to try a locally Owned business When I walked in I was greeted by Gina, NO WAITING just a great greeting n knew I found a great place to have the "BEAST" Serviced and takin care of. I got my oil changed here today after receiving a coupon in the mail. I was looking for a cheap place with good ratings and that coupon showed up at the right time. I called yesterday to see if they take walk-ins - they do but they take longer to complete since they are squeezed in between appointments. I decided to make an appointment for today instead. I dropped my car off at 1pm and Donovan checked it in for me. He was super nice and fast and didn't need much info from me. I told him I had the coupon in my glovebox and he honored the price without needing to take it. Donovan called me around 4pm to tell me my car was ready to go and I went and picked it up immediately. He checked me out and took my payment quickly, allowing me to get home super quickly. My car is driving great and the inspection sheet they put together is thorough and gives me an idea of what else needs to be done soon. The building is easy to find and park in front of. They have a secured fence to protect vehicles overnight. There are a couple of chairs in the lobby for you to sit in if you choose to wait while the work on your car, which I didn't do since it was going to take a couple of hours for my oil change. The prices are very reasonable and Donovan didn't try to upcharge me or push me into getting more work done than I asked for. I paid $50.59 for a full synthetic oil change, significantly less than I've paid for my past oil changes. I will definitely be getting my oil changed here exclusively going forward! read more

This team is comprised of some seriously fantastic people, and I can't recommend them enough. I came in recently for the first time for a 360 diagnosis, which they offer to give you a good idea of the overall condition of a vehicle. They Lyfted me home for free, and I got dropped back off later by my partner to pick up my vehicle. I did not have the correct card with me to make my payment, and had to reach out to my partner to bring my other card from the house. It was already nearly the end of the workday. When I finally got through to her, I had found out she had been in an accident. Upon realizing I was dealing with an emergency situation, Mike offered me my car keys and told to me to come back and pay tomorrow. This kindness, this willingess to take a chance on someone they had no prior relationship with, allowed me to arrive on scene of the accident and be there for my partner during a very difficult time. I was happy to return the next day to shake their hands and thank them, and of course pay them! First time I've brought my car here and felt that pricing was fair, honest service, and my car is running great!

I'm not a big Yelper but the service at this shop was so good I had to give a review. I took my car to them early this past Monday morning, by mid day they were able to tell me what was wrong and sent me an estimate. It was expensive, as I had numerous things going on with my car. The gentleman who helped me, Bobby, called every single time something wasn't working or if they had to try something else. They stayed as close to the given estimate as possible, and didn't try to sell me on a bunch of stuff I didn't need right away. I have had terrible experiences with mechanics in Eugene, but this place restored my faith, and I'll definitely take my car here from now on. Definitely would recommend. 10/10. read more

Took my truck in for an inspection. *Technician offered to help me as customer service reps were busy, he was awesome. Respectful, listened, went on a test drive so the me so I could explain, he shared what he thought could be wrong. Everything was going great. They treated my vehicle with care and respect which is exactly what I was looking for in a shop! They are knowledgeable and fixed a portion of what issues I was having during this inspection. HOWEVER The customer service side of this was horrible. I dropped my truck off Monday morning expecting it to take a half to full day. By the time I was off work I heard nothing from them. I went to go pick it up assuming it was locked up outside of their gate as I had requested. It was locked inside. Very confused so I left a voicemail and got nothing. Next day mid day I called and asked what the status was and he let me know they had inspected it but he needed to go over it with the tech and said he would call me back "shortly". By the end of day 2 nothing still, so I go to see if it's outside and it's in the same spot as the night before in the locked gate. Next day, day 3 I call and they say they will call me back so I just drove there because I couldn't let another day go by. They had all the notes ready when I was there just hadn't taken the time to call me after 3 days. Overall really confusing, stressful, and frustrating. Unfortunate because as I said, the techs did wonderful and actually fixed a huge chunk of the issue. They made things right in the end. They handled my complainants well and with understanding. They gave me a complimentary inspection and sincerely apologized and said they will do better. The cost was extremely affordable as well, great value for what work they did! read more

Beware-- I was overcharged a lot for an oil change and transmission fluid replacement. Not only did they keep my car overnight, they did not fill my fluids and did not drain the oil (!) , they just filled it up-- which lead to leakage on my garage floor. The tech neglected to do his task and there's no excuse--Prairie Road was given ample time holding my car overnight . I took my car back because my car was relatively new, not to have such leakage and my garage floor was pristine. They tried to make up for it by sending a worker to try cleaning up the stain, but the damage was done. I should have taken it to the dealer-- not only the prices were a lot cheaper ( yes, almost 20-30% lower), but I now have damage to my property due to shoddy workmanship. The Subaru dealership turned out to be a good surprise and lot cheaper-- they did not cheat me and everything was transparent. I should have listened to the other Subaru owners. An expensive lesson learned. Update: I'm siting here at the Subaru dealership and they did a free thorough inspection-- with a report. Add insult to injury, just found out PR filled my car with the wrong coolant, not recommended by my car manufacturer. Really shoddy. read more

Maybe Mid-July I reached out regarding my son's Nissan. Just stopped moving. No warning lights nothing. Suspected transmission. They were able to get us in within a few days. Long story short it was the transmission and needed replaced. They worked with our warranty company directly which was nice. Feel the cost was on the high side however we didn't have much choice and the one place I did a cost comparison with was comparable so we went for it. Took what felt like forever but they had a loaner available at no additional cost to us which was heaven sent even though the first one we had to return due to mechanical issues. The 2nd one was great!! We got our car back and had to return it because something wasn't right. It took another three weeks I think but Prairie Rd went above and beyond. They did not give up when they couldn't figure it out. They even enlisted assistance from local dealership at no extra charge to us. It ended up being something simple but they took care of it. Moral of this is that they I feel did more than most would have!!! Had the car back about 2mons and things have been fine! read more

This place is amazing! I don't always leave reviews for businesses but these guys deserve praise! I booked my appointment online for an oil change and inspection. When we arrived at the shop, we told them we'd be waiting because it was our only car and they offered to shuttle us wherever we wanted to go so we didn't have to sit in the office. They brought us to a coffee shop close by. I mentioned that I had work at 2pm and they finished quickly so I could make it. But their quickness was not for a lack of thoroughness. They had a detailed inspection for us, replaced our front wiper blades that were done and a few lights that were burnt out. And the price was more than fair! I was so so pleased! Well, it isn't easy to go from what I would consider ~5* overall service for ~11 yrs to, in my mind, the 5* EXCEPTIONAL category, but I'm there.       Last week, brought in 2003 Honda CRV that keeps chugging along (~183,000 miles) and getting handed down to now the 4th family driver. 16 y.o. granddaughter loves having her own car for school/activities and to polish driving skills, BUT no A/C . Originally my KY car, but now just help with autocare if/when in town.       We asked PRA (Mike) to do an O&F and fix A/C if possible - even after being fully informed of all stages and details of likely high costs just to figure it out. Mike called in late afternoon and being busy, I only heard "good news; electrical problem and A/C working now with only $55 charges for O&F." I think the estimate was ~$400 higher.       I was thankful, but didn't understand until reading invoice summary 2 days ago: PRA had written off ~$150 in labor charges to figure out what was wrong and fix it because they had apparently replaced the A/C condenser fan assembly unit++ in late 2022 (I wasn't in town or involved) and took responsibility for the A/C electrical connection problem. I certainly wouldn't have known and REALLY appreciate their honesty, communication and overall competence.       Thanks very much! read more

I love this business and the people who run it! They are absolutely dedicated to quality service. I originally found this business when the service manager of a dealership moved to Dan Bryan's Auto, and I followed him. It was also owned by Bill and Laurie, but has since closed. They have always treated me and my family with respect and been helpful, their prices are fair, and they do quality work. They stand behind their work. I've had issues before, and they've come out to me to either double check it, or fix it. My car was steaming when I got home once. Bill drove out to my house to check it out after I had been in the shop. It was simply oil spilled on the engine, so no big deal. But he came to me in case it was something bigger and double checked it. They've come out to replace a radiator cap and fluids with it as well. Being a female, I've been condescended and talked down to in many shops before, but that's never been the case here. I've always been treated with respect. If I don't understand something, they can explain it in a way that's easy to understand without treating me like an idiot. I've given them crazy deadlines because I need my car every single day for work, and they've always come through for me. Will I return here? Absolutely! They've earned my business for many years and I will definitely return as well as highly recommend this business to everyone. First, let me say that the service at Prairie Road Automotive was second-to-none. Everyone was very friendly, cordial, eagerly returned calls, and the service of a free shuttle to-and-from my home was top-notch. The owners were kind and you can tell that the family who runs this business cares about people. I've taken two cars into Prairie Road Automotive, one being a CRV that had a transmission leak. Service was fantastic and a diagnostic test was run in less than 24 hours. That said, the diagnostic test did cost my wife and I $130, and the final quote for the recommended repairs was well over $6,000 (they recommended a new transmission, along with several other fixes). We then got recommended to head over to Transmission Solutions by my Father in Law for a second opinion. Their team took a look at it in about 15 minutes, didn't charge for the diagnostic review, let us know that they thought it was a much, much smaller repair and gave it a go. The next day, they had the leak fixed for less than $120 and the car's been running like a champ ever since. I fully believe that the team at Prairie Road Automotive gave me the best price and effort that they could. That said, for anything transmission related, I would recommend having the guys at Transmission Solutions take a look, especially since that's their sole specialty over there. The second car I took into Prairie Road Automotive was a Honda Civic with high mileage. We had a pretty significant shake at higher speeds in the front right of the car. Turns out the front right tire really needed replaced. Pretty easy diagnostic review for those guys to run, and they kindly didn't charge for the inspection. While I was driving away on my way to Les Schwab to get a new tire, the owner jogged out to make sure that I knew just how badly I needed to get that tire changed. Was really nice to have that as a customer. Big picture: Wonderful people. Wonderful service. Would highly recommend, but if they do come in with a big number, I'd recommend getting a second opinion with one of the many fantastic specialty auto shops in the Greater Eugene area. read more

However, the response wasn't satisfactory to me. nice people but the repair took too long, it seemed my auto kept being pushed down the list. There's a lot I could say, but then you'd have to read it all. I'll cover the basics. I brought in my 2001 Ford Ranger Edge. Donovan (The Chief Mechanic) did one of their complete inspections, which includes not only looking at everything mechanical, but includes all liquids and electrical. EVERYTHING. As a result, I got to see everything wrong, hence, make a plan on getting it all fixed. If an item isn't vital and can be put off, they'll tell you. I wanted them to "fix the list" so I'd be assured my whole truck was operational; capable of operating without any further attention. I was given an estimate. The final figure what I paid was less. It took a week but I expected two. My list was long. Throughout the whole process, Shannon would call and keep me posted. Sometimes going through a vehicle like this is similar to a ship refit. You take it apart and discover something more, but the "more" is rare, because it's a great, thorough, initial inspection. I was pleasantly surprised they could do everything and I just got the truck back and it runs like new at over 170,000 miles, good for another hundred grand. Now I don't have to buy a new truck. I got one at a fraction of the cost. I left them our Honda Fit for the same treatment. One of the best things about this crew is their moral. It's up. That's probably because it's a very productive and they know they do excellent work. Highly recommended. read more

That being said, I got my car back with the broken hub sitting on my passenger seat, no paper under it to keep my seat form getting dirty.
