well to start off they are friendly I'm office. Iv gone here twice and first time 1 of the guys doing my oil change used his foot to push my door open I wasn't happy he scuffed it I did say something to the I did say something to the manager, and they were removed it. The second time I went Everything was fine again, but I noticed it was the same guy that got in my car to do oil change so I purposely see if he used his feet to open my door. I did see a tiny foot mark, but I didn't say anything and I just wiped it off, but I did notice that he's messing with my seatbelt for some reason he was twisting it in some sort of weird way to the point where when I tried to put my seatbelt on, it was all mangled up. I don't know what's wrong with this guy, but he needs to leave my stuff alone because next time I'm gonna go in and I'm not gonna be nice. given a four star rating is still good, but it would be five. If this guy that was getting in my car wasn't acting like a child messing with my stuff.. I don't understand how it's hard for someone to get in the pull it in the garage. Do your job get back in my car do not touch anything in my car other than the the steering wheel and get out of my car, the exact same way. read more

I rarely ever write reviews, and when i do they are positive ones, but I wouldn't be able sleep well at night if i didn't warn others with my experience at JT auto. I had my civic towed to JT auto repair after experiencing charging system problems. I had assumed it was the alternator based on typical failing alternator symptoms occurring. I had written on the key drop slip and left a message on the phone saying that it was a probable alternator failure. once they called me, they had said the alternator was "fine" and it was just a dead battery, then [[HIGHLIGHT]]they tried to charge me $300 just in labor for battery replacement, $450 total... thats a whole bad review in itself, but not the reason i am writing this.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After getting my car back from JT auto, within the first 15 miles of driving it, my car died while on the road again, and i once again had to get towed to a shop, this time obviously not to JT auto. Turns out, it was a failing alternator! and after a few tests, a different shop immediately noticed the voltages were all over the place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As for JT trying to charge $300 labor for a battery replacement, i can understand high labor prices for quality work, but theres is absolutely no reason or excuse to be charging $300 for a battery change that any auto parts store will do for free.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And as for the alternator, nothing is more irritating than breaking down on the side of the road, and having to get towed just a couple days after having your car in the shop and paying almost $200 for the initial inspection. they had plenty time with my car, and had charged me plenty for an overall check up on the car, the least they could have done was test the alternator an extra time or two considering my concerns. I had been to JT a couple times in the past, but I will no longer recommend this shop to anyone, especially as a woman, considering how often shops try to majorly over charge us. proceed with extra caution if you ever decide to take a car here, i am extremely disappointed with how little care they put into diagnosing my car, as well as the severe overcharging read more

After a less-than-stellar experience with my initial timing belt job (please see previous review), I did also want to give an update on where things stand, and to give credit where it's due. After a couple weeks of worsening timing system issues, JT Auto did end up telling me they'd be willing to warranty the timing kit and labor, and that they'd welcome me in as soon as I was ready. This time, they took pictures at every stage, and kept a detailed record throughout the entire process to make sure things were done properly. And this time, there were no issues; the shaking and whining are both gone, and the engine is running as it should again. I was accommodated promptly with no questions asked, and met with kindness, which was appreciated after a challenging week personally. I still don't love the fact that there was an attempt to pass the initial job off as normal. Things were clearly not right the first time; given the nature of the issues I was having, it's likely that the belt was mis-tensioned (and/or misaligned). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also don't love the attempt to overcharge ($455!) for a simple radiator hose replacement that I can complete myself relatively quickly, nor am I thrilled that a part was replaced (and labor charged) without informing me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But I do understand that things happen, and at the end of the day they did make efforts to make things right. If you think about it, that's all you can ever really ask of someone -- not just in auto repair, but in life in general really. I do think they're good people here. Just make sure that you always keep yourself informed about exactly what is being done, that you are knowledgeable about parts and expenses, and that you do your due diligence after the fact to make sure things are as they should be. And if you can do that, then I'm sure things will work out in the end. read more

My RAV4 had extensive corrosion on the battery cables, and one of them was so frayed it would probably have broken off soon. The Toyota dealership and another local auto repair shop told us that the cables are integrated into an electrical system and they could not be separately replaced. The total cost was expected to be in the thousands of dollars! JT Auto Repair actually did replace the cables by doing some splicing, and the car is fine, and we saved a ton. Took my car in for diagnostic knowing what was wrong but wanting to make sure. I was right and wanted a quote for the repair. They called me up with a quote of $4300. I told them I would pick the car up that I couldn't justify putting that much into it. I decided to try to sell the car for parts until a guy told me he could do the repairs for $1500. At that point I reached out to my old mechanic and was given a quote for $1162. How in the world can this shop get away with such inflated prices and still sleep at night? I had read reviews before going there and they were rather mixed. Some people love them while others complained that they were crooks. I tried to give them a chance but unfortunately I would agree that they are indeed CROOKS!!! Beware when taking your car here. I almost ended up basically giving my car away for something that was a reasonable fix. read more

I greatly appreciate the quick service provided by JT Auto Repair for a burned out headlight. I called in the morning and was accommodated the same day a few hours later. I was told that the repair could be done same day if the bumper did not have to be removed to access the headlight. Thankfully, it was an easy fix, so the work was finished in 45 minutes including the time to obtain a headlight from another business. Yes, they often times call attention to areas that might require optional/additional service...Thank you for that! When I dropped the vehicle off for repair of a Ford truck with a blown sparkplug (a very common problem with Ford Triton engines), I was told that there was, at least, a 10 day back-log. IF I went to a repair shop that immediately went to work on my rig, I guess I'd be wondering why they weren't busier...A busy shop must be a quality shop! Yeh, don't we always wish the invoice was for less? However...only a few years ago, I had the exact same problem with my Ford engine (didn't I mention it's a common thing for Ford truck engines?) in another town...the shop did the same repair for exactly double what JT charged me this time. They took the extra time to explain/educate me about the repairs needed and how they were caused. I trust the repair techs and management of this shop. The atmosphere is clean inside and the service is friendly, yet authentic. The techs are organized with their parts and tools. The office is very clean and organized. The employees are happy here and friendly to their coworkers. There's a lot of green flags with this shop. They have also expanded their business recently. I had been having difficulty with my battery / electrical system in my minivan after a weekend of camping at Crater Lake and had stopped multiple times on my way back to Portland, hoping to make it to a repair shop. Andrew and his team at JT Auto were able to get me in within minutes of arriving and checked over the charging system. It turned out to just be a loose connection on the battery and they tightened it up and sent me on my way for no charge at all. They also did an inspection and called to let me know there were a few other things (of course there were on a 13 yo truck) and let me decide what to fix. No hard sell at all and no shaming because I didn't do it all. Here's what was telling for me. There was a new kid working and I watched and listened to how the staff interacted with him. They were all patient, respectful and supportive. Plus the place was clean, no music blaring, people in uniform and relatively clean for a shop. There was just an atmosphere of respect in the place. If you're looking to waste your time and money then by all means head to these jag offs they'll gouge your wallet and tell you that they got an $6,000 dollar solution that will be a sure fix only to find out that sure fix wasn't so sure and now they need an additional $the 7,000 for a completely different issue that no might fix the issue. I only had the car for a year and paid $8,000 for it. These guys are going to try and sell me that the car would be great if I added the $7,000 to maybe fix the problem. You tell me does paying 13,000 in total repairs warrant a good deal when the car is worth less than 8,000 today? Yeah I didn't think so either. Waste of time and a whole lot of money just to have a product that now has to go to a landfill. JT must stand for Jackshit Truth automotive. All the rumors you hear about in regards to auto repair shops just looking to screw you over are truth with these jokers. Stay away from these smiling faces. I paid them $680 for a new fuel filter. Took 2 trips for them to find the problem. After 4 days, they changed the thermostat, claimed it was leaking and that cost me $305, while they never found the problem. 2 weeks later, I sent it back for the original problem. This time they put a pressure gauge on it and found no fuel pressure. they changed the fuel pump. One of the mechanics mentioned that the fuel filter had debris falling out when he removed it. Since the pump worked most of the time, I doubt anything was wrong with it. The second trip cost me $375. read more

Oh my gosh, people, you will NEVER find anyone better!!!! This place is absolutely AMAZING I mean AMAZING! I just love them so much! I was having issues with my Dodge Nitro- Major issues-they took a look at it and immediately figured out what it was! I asked Ted if I should have it fixed or get a different car. My experience at JT auto has seriously been the most ridiculous one I've ever had with a mechanic. My truck had some ignition problems, with which I was unable to turn my truck off. The normal shop that I take my truck to was booked out for two weeks, so I found JT auto and saw that they had some pretty good reviews. I am not entirely sure as to how. First off they did not communicate with me whatsoever about what was being repaired on my truck nor did I get a call during the week they had my truck until it was "done." They replaced my ignition switch and ignition lock cylinder, both of which had to be taken out again and replaced with new parts by a different mechanic since the ones that JT auto installed were broken. They also suggested that I get my steering column replaced, which would be another $400 on top of the almost $600 I had just paid. When they finally did call me to come get my truck and I saw the inside, my heart dropped. The dashboard underneath my steering wheel was completely dismembered and wires were sticking out, which incidentally was how I was to turn my truck on and the ignition problem still wasn't even fixed! No one informed me that this is what my truck would look like when I was picking it up. After being told I would have to pay another $400 I decided to wait until my shop was able to service my truck. My shop told me that the ignition lock cylinder that they installed was broken and they were unable to finish repairing my truck until it was replaced. Luckily they were able to pull some strings and I wasn't charged any more than what I had already paid. The ignition switch was also faulty and I was able to return it to JT auto for a refund. Finally, my shop told me that I didn't even need my steering column replaced and that it was just a small part that needed replaced, that was only 50$. At the end of this ordeal I still had to pay JT auto $112 for the comprehensive inspection even though everything that they "fixed" had to be redone and replaced. When I got my refund for my ignition switch, I asked about being refunded for the inspection to which I was denied. I can't help but feel like I got scammed out of this whole thing. I definitely would not recommend this shop and would say go to Oakmont Service Center if you want people who are honest, competent, and know what they're doing. My truck now drives great and everything is back to normal, thankfully. read more

I was in a pinch. I had been outside the area fishing when the clutch went out in my car. Came into town and went to Sears by my hotel to see if they could fix it. Said their mechanic was out that day. I asked for a recommendation and they said there was this little family shop off of Mohawk that they sent customers to that always did a great job. JTs was a gem. They understood the pinch I was in and were able to fit me in that day and replace the master cylinder in the clutch. Of course now I was stranded without a car for a few hours. Believe it or not, they ran me back to my hotel and let me settle in. When the car was ready, they came and picked me up. This kind of service just doesn't come about anymore. I am highly impressed, and only wish I had a mechanic like this back home. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

One of THE worst shops I've ever visited. Brought an older vehicle to them....one that most other shops would have no problem with. Not only did they do an incomplete job fixing my steering column, but they also dropped/slid/scraped my steering wheel on the ground. The owner proceeded to tell me it was like that already, and offered to buy a steering wheel cover to make up for it. Not that I would have noticed the scrapes as it was only my daily driver for YEARS! On top of that, his son walked up trying to intimidate which I had to laugh at.
