Well, it finally happened. In 68 years up until today, I've had to use towing services a great deal in my life and always had an okay to mediocre to really poor experience with the tow companies, either because of low quality equipment or less than friendly employees and at times, both. Enter a new day my friends. Today, I had Alpha Towing pick up my Honda Goldwing and tow it to River Road from West Eugene to sell. Where do I begin; At the beginning. The dispatcher I spoke to, Ashley I think, was so incredibly kind, caring and even sympathic to my reason for needing a tow, that I almost forgot I was scheduling a tow and when I did, she not only thanked me for my business, but conveyed her hope that my day would get better. Folks, never in my 68 years have I ever had such a positive experience when calling for a tow, but there is more. So, scheduled the tow and Ashley said they were a bit busy so it would probably be about an hour and then she asked me if that was alright. Once I picked my jaw up off the floor, I told her yes and thanked her. Then, 30 minutes later I get a call from the tow truck driver saying he was here and ready to help me out. 30 minutes, not an hour. So now, practically being in shock, I go outside to meet the driver and another worker and told them what I needed and was ready to help and they very graciously said I did not need to help them because they did not want me to get hurt and that they had it covered, all the while engaging in pleasant conversation. Well, what an understatement because those two guys, and I wish I could remember their names, maneuvered my extremely heavy motorcycle like it was a toy and very cautiously and professionally, loaded my bike and strapped it down perfectly again, while carrying on with their witty conversation. The tow ended up being delivered to a different location than originally scheduled which was significantly shorter in distance, and they did not flench an inch in recalculating the cost of the tow which saved me $40. When it was time for them to leave I thanked them profusely and off they went. And there I stood, smiling, after having to have a vehicle towed, thinking how incredibly satisfying that experience was from inception to completion. I'm telling you this just as some guy that got a tow, that if you use any other towing company in the Eugene area, then you are probably paying about the same that Alpha charges, but I guarantee you that you are not getting the same high quality equipment and professional service that you would have gotten had you used Alpha. I will never use one of the other towing services in Eugene again because I've been spoiled by Alpha's industry leading service. Thanks again Alpha! read more

Beyond useless. Called to ask if they could tow a trespassing vehicle off of private property. I got an immediate 'Yes, with 3 days notice, do you want us to send a truck out to give notice'. I said yes, truck came out, and the owner of the vehicles convinced them not to sticker the vehicles. When I called back, talked to the owner, Clay, and asked why, I was told 'we're uncertain about the situation'. When I asked why they didn't call me back or knock on my door to confirm the situation, I got no response. When I told them I'd sign a waiver, they said, "You'd need to get a lawyer to write up some documentation to prove its your property." Even though I told him I already had that documentation. It was clear Clay had made up his mind and wasn't willing to be clear about why. Now if I were the speculating type, I'd say that the drivers that came out knew this guy, as he mentioned he was in the car repair business. But I'm not, so all I have are the facts: Alpha towing said they could do something, then didn't, then failed to follow up with me on why. I called Emerald towing and immediately got what I needed - that I could write my own notice and take a picture of it, sign a waiver, and have the cars towed in 3 days. It took less than two minutes and they charged me $91.00!!!! $91.00 for two minutes of labor. What do they charge to tow your car across town? I don't mind saying, I was very upset and angry. I've locked my keys in my car previously in Eugene, the charge was $50. I've called towing companies around town and they all charge $50 to $60. But when you go to pick up your car and the owner (Clayton) is dealing with you is rude spitting chewing tobacco while talking to you, it's just disrespectful. Tire went flat on a very busy road with no shoulder. I'm disabled, but was able to get my yellow lab and myself to a driveway and left my car sitting in the road. Cold and getting dark. Scared. I am a visitor in Eugene from Nevada and called this company and they sent out a truck ASAP. I locked my keys in my car (Toyota Landcruiser) and they could not open it...they stayed with me the whole time and had me call another group who could make a key from my VIN number.
