I'm glad I checked the yelp ratings before renting a moving truck ...and based on that chose Penske…read more(over the slightly closer U-Haul). booking (online) was easy & quick, check-in was quick & uncomplicated (not a bunch of forms to fill out - just hand over my DL and credit card). the truck was nice & clean. and - beyond what could be expected in my mind - I especially appreciated that: 1) they let me switch to a larger truck when I realized (at pickup!) that the 12' truck might be just a tad tight. no fuss no muss and they just went right ahead and switched me to a 16'er, and for the same price to boot! :-) 2) I was moving in town and gonna put only about 10 miles on the truck, making 'topping off the gas' (for maybe 1 gallon) an inefficient hassle. so they just charged me a fair price for the gas (40c/mile, $4 for 1 gallon, I think) and didn't try to turn it into another profit element... ...but earned themselves a glowing review instead :-)

I call for a 1ton pickup and he says wait a moment and puts me on hold, then responds that the only truck that is available to rent me is a 1ton ford pickup for $168 instead of the normal $88 and when I asked for a 3/4 ton which is only $66 online pre quoted price; )saying available). He put me on hold and then said none are available only the 1ton and that I may only rent the 1ton for $168 So I go online and make a reservation for the 3/4 ton and show up to see a number of 3/4tons in the lot amongst many other 1tons; and no one else there picking up a truck. I asked to pick up the 3/4 ton; and Brooke got flustered and said I could only rent the 1ton for an exuberant amount of money and that the 3/4 tons trucks wouldn't be available for over a week. So I left and has my friend call and ask for a 3/4ton truck; and they told him to come and pick it up and it was ready for him! I called back and asked why they would only rent me the 1ton truck instead of the 3/4ton and they would rent it to my friend instead. He then lied about a whole number of things and then proceeded to blacklist me from renting for no other reason than he simply got upset and unprofessional/childish that I caught him in the act of trying to upsell me. I am now blackballed from renting here for no reason and I am taking this company to small claims court for profiling me amongst a number of other contingents portraying my character to falsely blackball me. What he falsely said against me will be used in court and is on your record. Expect a letter from BBB as well

"Yeah, our reservation system sucks. it's really crappy." "So, you don't have ANY trucks. Not one." "nope. sorry. And I really don't know when..." "yeah, yeah, when you'll have any....yeah gotcha. They informed me after I purchased my airline ticket that there was not going to be a van there waiting for me or was ever going to. Budgets 800 number does not communicate with actual pickup locations. When I spoke to Leon and told him our dilemma he immediately found a van that was an hour and a half away and got it there a day early for us . It really helped out a lot after dealing with the death in our family. Thank you Penske for having such great Representatives work for you and helping our family ! She even went so far as to leave her personal cell phone number for me to call her back. We are a couple weeks out from that phone call and I finally got around to rescheduling our family member's cross-country move. I spoke with Lucinda today and she rescheduled us with the same pricing options and even is making arrangements for us to come back for our car dolly after the location is closed. Great customer service and extremely pleased with how this move is working out due to Lucinda's assistance.
