The two-man-crew that helped me are not only great movers, they are also great people. They treated me with complete respect, and met my challenges with kindness and patience. They made sure that I retained my autonomy in deciding how things should go, while also offering helpful suggestions or taking the lead when I asked for that. It felt like working with trusted friends. Logistically, these folks made the day go really smoothly, even handling the U-Haul rental process. It was refreshing to work with people who were flexible and adaptable as various needs arose during the job. They went above and beyond on things, like navigating a steep hill and stairs, with a friendly and hardworking attitude the whole time. Since time was available in the scheduled hours, they wrapped my furniture with protective wrap (something previous movers didn't do). This turns out to have been very helpful, since my stuff has been stuck in storage for a lot longer than I planned. I know the furniture is more protected now. In Oregon, moving service hourly rates are set my the state, and the same for all moving crews. So, when choosing a crew, it comes down to quality of service. These guys offer the best quality service of any move I've hired for. I highly recommend them. I will be hiring them again soon to finally get my stuff into my new apt.

Cross Town Movers sent the same 2 men who packed up the 2 rooms to unpack the 2 rooms on Thursday. From start to finish, talking to the home office and scheduling to giving them my credit card for the entire job on Thursday, it went perfectly. Alex and Joshua showed up on time both days, went the extra mile to help with putting everything back together. They worked with me and my house cleaner to perfectly place glass back where it belonged, even waiting for us to finish cleaning the glass. I could not have asked for a better team. One of the file cabinet drawers got stuck and they trouble-shot it until it was fixed and working! I will definitely use Cross Town Movers in the future if I have a need. UPDATE: I used them again today to unload both a POD and a Penske truck. I requested four men. Another excellent job done! These are hard working guys who only stop to catch their breath; they did it all in 3 hours. Lead by Reuben (as before), they efficiently unloaded everything and he also creatively figured out a way to fix a broken wheel on the Entertainment Center so they could load a 300 lb tube TV into it and move it in place! The quote ended out being way low because of time wasted, an increased hourly rate I was not informed about from when I got a quote and because I had to buy my friend lunch after I called them in to do the job one of the movers couldn't do. One of the movers was good. He was personable and worked fast. The other mover that seemed to be the one "in charge" was so slow, unprofessional, reckless with my belongings and unapologetic when he let a full suitcase roll out the back of the moving truck. Multiple times I had to ask him to continue to work. He looked like he was exhausted after 30 minutes. I was on a weight restriction related to a medical procedure and I still moved more boxes than him. I ended out calling friend on the back end to come help so it wouldn't cost me even more. They left the starting point 30 minutes before we did and they arrived 30 minutes after. My girlfriend got bored waiting so she went to the convivence store where she saw them coming out after presumably taking a break. Every worker needs a break but it shouldn't be on the customers dime or at least take those breaks where the customer can access the truck. Zero communication on where they were during that hour either. When I tried to call billing to ask questions about the rate change and to request at least that 30 minutes back I only got a voicemail and they never called me back. I wouldn't use this company again.
