This company was hired by Zippy Shell to pack and load the contents of my clean, neatly organized 5x10' storage unit for shipping. I hesitated because I wouldn't be there to ensure things were properly packed, and many of the items were highly sentimental to me. The Zippy Shell rep assured me that these movers were professionals and that they would wrap and cushion everything for the cross-country drive. They only wrapped a handful of items, and just loosely and partially, with a single layer of paper. Nothing was cushioned at all. Zero plastic or bubble wrap or moving blankets. Everything was tossed carelessly into the pod as if it were a dumpster headed for the landfill. Unsurprisingly, everything arrived scratched, beat up, scuffed and dirty. They broke a cabinet, which completely collapsed en route. This crushed everything inside and scattered contents around the filthy floor, including the stereo which was somehow not wrapped. What kind of mover doesn't wrap a stereo for transport?? Everything had been in like-new condition prior to the move, or I wouldn't have paid to store it in a clean, climate-controlled storage unit for five years, additionally paying Zippy Shell $4,000 to have it shipped to me. I wouldn't recommend this company unless you're shipping old tires or anything that can't possibly be damaged. My money basically went to having my things destroyed. I've moved many times in my life and have never had such a devastating experience. Btw, they must be paying Yelp to hide their one-star reviews, of which there are HUNDREDS. As a Yelp Elite reviewer with mostly five-star reviews, I can attest that this was my honest experience. It is VERY DIFFICULT to earn a one-star review from me. read more

These folks were just beyond awful. They sent a crew to pack our house who had apparently never packed anyone before, and said crew broke just a ton of stuff. Even though we paid something like $2500 for "full replacement value, zero deductible" insurance, they denied our claim for breakage, saying that we didn't report some of the damage in time (actually, we told Bekins about it essentially *as it happened* in some cases) and that they simply aren't reponsible for things like the big crack in the lining of our freezer because they just don't cover interior damage. Amazingly, the settlement they offered me was pretty much exactly what I paid for the insurance. Why would I spend money on insurance that never pays out? I eventually had to pay $300 to take them to arbitration, where the arbitrator found that we were correct in EVERY instance and ordered Bekins to pay us the full amount for everything they broke. What a pain, and the whole process took almost a year. My wife and I have moved many times over our lives. I think the recent move that Cross Town handled was probably the absolute worst we've ever been treated. And please understand that Cross Town handled both ends of the move (we moved from Eugene to San Jose, CA), so they can't blame the horrible treatment we received on something like the local guys who unpacked our stuff. Moms stuff FINALLY arrived just over a month. Bekins will pay $150 a day when they are late unless it's due to a natural disaster or something. That's the good news. She's getting a fair amount of money back. Her items did arrive in great shape, with no problems. We are thankful for that. Bekins needs to completely purge customer service! I've worked in that industry. They were horrible and pretty much did everything wrong. Also with so many leaving the craziness of the W Coast, expect delays if you're bailing to another state... expect long delays. read more

We moved DURING A PANDEMIC in May 2020. Wow, what a great time to move. CTM had a coronavirus plan in place and advertised on their website, so we went with them regardless of quotes for cost simply because they were being proactive about safety during an incredibly uncertain time (we knew a lot less about the virus then). Brad, Mike, Jesse, and Morgan were very professional, asked questions when needed, somehow managed to stay positive as the heat increased, received direction well when I was micro-managing out of stress, and best of all? They did not damage a single thing. I unpacked my last box this week, and can confirm, yes, indeed, absolutely everything they moved made it intact. They worked hard, figured things out, had all the right tools, and knew exactly what they were doing. Use these guys. Moving is damn hard, especially when you're in your early 40's and all those moves during college (with less stuff) are a distant memory. read more

When I needed boxes and wrapping paper for the glass contents, I came here and received some first rate service from the friendly and helpful gent behind the counter. Boxes were lightly used and that saved me some money versus new one. When I ran out, I came back but they were closed but that same gent was there still and opened the door and we were able to get more boxes and complete our project. That's big! Fast forward to last Friday and we had scheduled to get some older furniture moved to our daughters home. In calling in, the gent was professional and had a "Can do" attitude and explained things in great detail. Just like clock work, here comes Rocky and Chance who got the items picked up and delivered to our daughters place and they also moved a couch from the upstairs there and placed it downstairs with no damage on anything at either place. Pretty darn good and if we ever need anything moved or if we ever move, Cross Town will get the first call. read more

I would not trust these movers. They took breaks. Took the moving van to dari mart to go get snacks. I told them not to put all the pressure on one leg of the couch, which they continued to do. Resulting in a broken ($700.00) couch. They offered me $90.00. They said they sent me a check which I did not receive. Months later when the check arrived I tried to cash it and it had been canceled resulting in a $30 cancellation fee for me. I called them and explained what had happened and they wrote me a new check and never offered to cover the expense of the cancellation fee. read more

These guys were friendly and nice, but they broke the handle off a piece of furniture and lost it altogether so that it could not even be glued back on. You would think they would've noticed that. They also lost one item that went on the truck but never showed up at the house. How do you lose something like that?? I told them that I did not know the street address, so please call me on the day of the move. They drove around lost and way overcharged because of that. I used these guys twice. Once to move my stuff from storage and then a week later to move the rest of my stuff to my house. These guys are hard workers. They showed up on time and worked the day. Moved heavy stuff upstairs. There was some minor damage to a bed frame, but everything else was in good shape. Leo, Noah and Dwight did great getting all the stuff upstairs on the first move. I had a bed that I had purchased from JC Pennys delivered to me last week. Lloyd and Aaron were the guys handling the delivery. They were fast and got my mattress and box spring set up and took away the old mattress, old box springs, and even asked if I wanted them to take the metal pieces that made up the framework on my old bed! I let them take all that so I avoided a trip to the dump. Worked out great for me. Both guys were nice and fast and I would absolutely consider them if I had a move I needed help with. read more

I recently moved to Eugene from another state, and hadn't yet set up a mover to get our bed and many other many items from our Pod to our apartment. I did a quick google search for movers in Eugene, and called this company - spoke to Jerrod the dispatcher and amazingly enough he was able to get me two guys and a truck within the hour! The two guys were Justin and Nate, and they were both polite, helpful and efficient. We started unloading the stuff from the Pod at 11:45 and all of our belongings for a two bedroom apartment were in our apartment by 2:30. Whew! Thanks Crosstown for coming thru on such short notice and making it so I don't have to sleep on the floor my first days in Eugene. I understand Crosstown also offers storage options that are cheaper than Pods so I am going to check them out for that as well. read more

Best movers I've ever used, hands down...and I've used a tons of movers all across the US. First and foremost the guys worked nonstop, tirelessly, were professional, and were careful with my things. Now, having used movers before...My wife and I had everything ready, taped, and finished so they could do their work and pack the truck. Sometimes when your a lesbian couple and you use the term "wife" movers will blink or worse, you just brace yourself for it. We're very much women. I'm very much a woman and my wife is a cute little redhead...you kind of wait for it. This is 75 percent of the time. Not a blink. Awesome. Now like all service industries most people tip their movers. I always do. This was a simple gig...I'd planned on tipping them 50 each, but within 20 minutes knew I was going to tip more. I did. These guys were Ace and Hoss. They were both small build. These are always my favorite movers, because they know how to lift without me wondering if they are hurting themselves and they can lift EVERYTHING... Those guys are impossibly strong. They moved the 2 dressers we had without taking the drawers out. Go guys. We had blankets. Ratchets for the truck. Covers for the mattress and box springs. (One of my big things is letting the movers take down and set up the bed.) and put the mattress covers on. It's why I tip. The final phase of blankets covering furniture w/moving tape I'll also leave to them...though I'll do most of it. Tricky pieces I leave to them. I hire them for expertise. These guys...worth it. If you've never considered this part of your service...you should. How much is your stuff worth to you? It's a service industry. I usually tip half up front and half or more at the end. I actually forgot with these guys. I just tipped at the end...which is standard. They were self motivated to be excellent on their own, which...NEVER happens with mover. They always break things. They often don't care. And your always better hiring local muscle who know how to pack a truck. Maybe that's why these guys were soooooo good. They were from the local area. Here was also the extra bit. I hired them day of...they were booked...everyone was. It was an emergency move. We had a place, but we were paying double rent and had a month to move. Something went wrong and we needed to finish the move that day instead of carloads. We had a box truck. These guys didn't have to take us...it was an uber please, please, please...something had gone wrong with the property and our stuff could get ruined... And they didn't charge extra...standard rate... And we were using them for muscle...but then the packing of the truck is always Tetris... I worked for the stagehand union for years...so I know HOW to pack a truck; however, I'm not going 2. I also know when it's done half-assed or done excellently. These guys were just all around...awesome. When we got to the new place...I told them the could reorganize the boxes in the living room and laundry room as they unloaded to what we already had. It is soooooo much better. Sure they just shifted things as they unloaded to make it easier to unload and stack the boxes at the new place...but their small adjustments made it so much more logical. Everyone hates moving. I do. I sure didn't want to spend money on movers. We really couldn't even afford it. However, they were they best and affordable. I couldn't have asked for better:) The best I can offer up is a GLOWING yelp review, which I never thought was possible to give for ANY mover. I'd trust these guys with your stuff. And unlike any mover I ever had...their price quote was true! But you HAVE to be ABSOLUTELY accurate in everything when you tell the movers what you have. If you leave ANYTHING off it effects the price. I'd pick these guys. And tip well! read more

Two gentlemen (R and D) came and moved our house of 6 people. They were quick, courteous very careful our possessions and house. This is the first time I've used a moving company to assist with a move and let me tell you it was a relief! The movers, Mike and DJ were on time (a few minutes before which I appreciate) and were efficient and super helpful. They moved my belongings with care but were efficient on time. You could tell they were very mindful of the clock and I found that incredibly respectful. I'm pretty sure they could tell that I felt a little guilty with sitting and watching them as they moved my stuff but they were so polite and gave me small tasks so I felt less useless. The price was a bit steeper than I expected but honestly a small price to pay for such a relief in moving. Would definitely recommend and use again. read more
