I've had several experiences with this company, and they have all been positive. In my most recent move, Cody and David gave excellent service. Cody took the time to really go over the paperwork and explained my options. Both of them were professional, pleasant, and efficient. They took the time to remove hardware from furniture that could possibly have scratched a doorway. They put together several pieces of furniture for me. This is the 4th time Cross Town movers has moved my household. It took two days from Newport to Astoria but that was expected. I was expecting a 3 person crew but they were short-staffed. Brad and Barry did an amazing job! I moved from a 3 story townhouse to a ranch and every thing arrived in perfect condition. No damages at all. THE THEFT Well, they STEAL from the ELDERLY and the DISABLED!! I HAVE M.S. & several other diagnosis . All of you people that rated them so well may not know that something's been stolen until you need to find it or use it. You'll wonder what happened to it?? MY insurance company PAID for MY electronics that CROSS TOWN MOVER'S STOLE, but there was a $500 deductible they didn't give me the $399 for the lifetime service agreement for the Tivo. They took the $150 off the TiVo for depreciation because it was 2 years old. My CAREPROVIDER & I WENT THROUGH EVERY SINGLE BOX to be positive that I was not accusing anyone falsely. We put a red X on the box if it did not have any of the electronics in it. I have no idea what else was in those boxes ,in addition, to the specific electronics that I know they stole. THE THEFT FROM MY 88 YEAR OLD MOTHER! At the beginning of the move the guy that was moving the chairs off the front patio into my mom's apartment next door (her bathroom being the first room closest to the front door) just plucked the top SOLID 14kt GOLD RING off of her lead crystal ring holder on the back of the toilet. I don't know what she got for that but probably not enough to cover it. It was a heavy ring. This is my first time ,and my last time ever using "professional movers". They're more like professional thieves. DAMAGE Then we get to the damage which the claims guy had the pictures for two MONTHS!!! Never returned my calls ,and when I called to ask somebody else to ask him I just got an " I'm working on it"?? Then I get accused of submitting my claim for the third time!!!! when nobody had told me anything about the first or second time. I don't know anything about a second time? The third time was to the owner to give him the benefit of the doubt. I still don't know if the owner actually saw my email or not. So Chris Gatsby (the SALES MANAGER/CLAIMS GUY) is real nice guy ,and I can't say definitively that he was in on it but he sure doesn't want to deal with it?? Yeah it's amazing I paid them all that money to move me and then they steal from my mother and me. My insurance doesn't cover the damage. Cross Town said that the claim was denied!!!! Which is really pretty stupid because there's three witnesses as to what I had prior to the move and what we have not been able to find now. Also, three witnesses to the damage of the property . Eventually this will get to small claims court . When I move the rest of my stuff out of storage I'll find more damage. They didn't use any blankets at all. They didn't cover my Tempur-Pedic mattress as a matter fact there's a big black ink marker line going down it. They put my bookshelves directly on top of my mother's beautiful oak desk that she paid $1,400 for on sale approximately 10 years ago. So how did they know where those particular Electronics were? Well that would be my LABEL MAKER that said BRAND NEW XBOX ONE & 360 Etc. But they were in an awful big hurry it was not organized at all it was just stupid the way they put it in there they just threw it in there as fast as they could obviously. read more

When I moved back to Eugene in 2011, I wanted to hire a moving company to help unload everything from our own trailer. I called Cross Town Movers and explained to them that I needed two movers, for two hours of moving, to get everything done. They said fine, two hours would probably be plenty for my trailer, and they would come over at noon. Noon comes and goes - no movers 12.15 - I call Cross Town and ask them if they're running late. They explain (only now!) that the clock for their services starts when they leave their location, which is on the other side of town, but they'll be there soon since they left at noon. 12.25 - The movers finally arrive. I ask them why it took them 25 minutes to drive a distance I usually drive in 10 minutes (in fact, it's along a route I take regularly, it's 10 minutes). They explain that they were stuck in traffic and then couldn't find my house? I live on a major through road that everyone in town has heard of. Not hard to find. 12.30 - Having shown the movers everything, they start. 12.45 - smoke break 12.50 - they continue 1.15 - smoke break 1.20 - they continue 1.40 - They announce that they're done. Despite not having finished. The armchair that needs to go upstairs, the main piece we needed help with, is still downstairs. They say we'll need to pay for more time and a third mover to get it up the stairs. What?! When we originally bought that, a 60+ year old man and I carried it into our house, up the stairs with just the two of us! A girl, and a 60+ year old man !! And two professional movers can't even do that? I ask them about the rest of the time, and they say they need 15 minutes to get back, for which I'm paying as well. I ask why they stopped 20 minutes early then, and they say: "Well, it's 15 minutes now" (because they've been talking to me to tell me they're going and can't do the chair). So in short, nobody on the phone ever told me about the driving charge. I specifically said I had two hours or work that needed to be done. They should have quoted me for 2.5 hours and explained that you pay for half an hour of driving (despite them being 10 minutes away). Of the two hours I paid for (it was expensive too), they did: - 40 minutes of driving - 10 minutes of smoking - 10 minutes of talking to me about what to do, why they can't do it, and what their policies are (which should've been explained over the phone, before I paid) - 60 minutes of work So essentially I paid for two hours of overpriced work and got only one. And I didn't even use their equipment or truck. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Cross Town Movers (Belkins) moved us from Eugene to California this summer. They arrived on time at our house on the day of move. However the truck was over half full with another family's furniture so they could not fit all of our furniture. They had to bring a good portion to their warehouse and delivered that 7 days later. They asked us what items we need to have delivered in the first delivery. But when we unpacked the first delivery, we found that they did not pay any attention to what we want delivered first. After waiting 7 days for the rest of the delivery, we found 3 boxes (that they have packed) were missing. They were able to locate one box which was mailed to us about 1 month after the initial delivery. We have full insurance with no deductible. We made a claim for the missing items along with some damaged items and just wanting to put everything behind us. We just heard back from Belkins with this following statement : "According to our records, everything we received for shipment was accounted for at delivery and signed for as being received.... We checked with the driver and the connecting shippers whose goods were on-board the van at the same time and our trace is negative. We have no basis on which to assume liability for any loss ant this portion of your claim must be declined." The way that I read the last sentence means that they think that we must be lying to make a claim. How insulting. We have read previous good reviews about Cross Town Movers in yelp, Register-Guard ratings and from our own realtor. But our personal experience is anything but. read more

I've moved a fair bit in my young life...for school, faculty jobs and the like. Sometimes I've been fortunate enough to hire movers, other times it's just me and my poor buddies. Nothing compares to movers, and no movers that I've ever used compare to CrossTown's. CTMs was recommended to me by my realtor when I did just that (move across town). We were trying to save money, so we only asked the movers to do the really heavy lifting. This included switching out a pair of washer/dryer units (hey--I wanted the good ones from my old house!), grabbing some exceptionally large potted plants, and moving a Spinet piano. It was a three-person job and the guys we had were fabulous. Very careful, fast workers who were also very communicative. They made sure we were going to be happy with exactly where they were planning to put things. I was so pleased with their services that I contacted CTM again when it was time to move my office across town. I didn't have the luxury of taking any vacation time over the course of this move, so it was up to CTM to get office #2 looking just like office #1 in quick speed. They were exceptionally professional, quiet, and FAST. Additionally, when I got the bill, I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was. If you're lucky enough to hire movers, make sure to pick these guys. read more

On the day of the move, their team contacted me to check-in and see if it would be ok to start earlier than they had originally quoted. They were thoughtful about the best process to make sure we were 100% satisfied. They were extremely efficient and I am extremely happy with our move. I was absolutely blown away by CTM's punctuality, professionalism, efficiency and all-around kindness and respect. Big shout out to Brendan (he coordinated the move and came out for an estimate) and my movers, Adam and Brad. If you can request Adam and Brad (they're brothers!), you will not be disappointed. Super friendly, helpful, and great musical taste! How stressful can a move be with you've got Neil Young playing on a portable radio??! Loved it. By the way, I moved TODAY, with plenty of time to spare to unpack, get some food, and sit down and write this review. I've never felt so relaxed and relieved. These guys took care of everything! Cross Town helped us move administration offices, so office furniture and computers. They met with us before the move to physically see what was to be moved and get the floor plan of the old and new space, which was nice. They had good instructions for how to organize our stuff before the move. They gave us a quote which we agreed to and paid 50% on. However, come moving day, they ended up taking more than one trip which they hadn't thought they'd need, so it took more time. Even with a few of our people helping unpack the computer components, it took an hour or so longer. So they charged us extra for the extra time, even though it was a quoted job. It also took a couple extra weeks to get the boxes we "rented" from them picked up by their crew. We had to call and email and remind them multiple times to pick up the boxes, which we were to be credited for. Then we received a bill for the time to pick up the boxes, so we had to call again and have it credited back to us. So, to conclude, they did a great job moving. They were careful with our stuff and everything arrived in one piece. However, their accounting leaves a bit to be desired. read more

This is the second time I have used Cross Town Movers. The first time was 5 years ago when the company i had hired pulled a no show. The owner of Cross Towner Movers, grabbed another guy and a van and rescued me. I knew in this move if i wanted a team i could count on, it would be Cross Town Movers. I originally wrote a 5 star review because the crew worked so quickly. But after I had some time to settle after the move, I found that my recliner was broken and there were scratches in my floor where they placed the chair. I paid an extra $50 for insurance on broken items, so I called the company and filled out a claims form. The guy I talked to said he'd have someone get in touch with me the next day. That was over a week ago. Then I had to go out of town, but someone called me and said they'd call me the next week when they had time to inspect the chair. Nobody ever called me back. Update: it's been almost a month, and I still have a broken chair. Not even a complaint to the BBB could get these guys' attention. Update: It is now March, 2017. The initial review was in October 2016. This company still has not repaired or replaced anything. They even tried the "that was already broken" excuse. Every couple of weeks, I ask for an update. They act all surprised that the issue hasn't been resolved and offer some new sort of compensation each time. They've offered to fix the damaged item, replace it, refund me, etc., but they never follow through. They're clearly just leading me on hoping I'll forget about it. read more

But they showed up on time, were great with communication, navigated a giant van into my driveway to get my piano, and were very friendly and professional. Ruben & Luke helped move my mother from her house of 47 yrs (with many steps) into a retirement community. They were fantastic! Punctual, careful and efficient- all the qualities you want in a moving company. What really impressed me was how respectful and empathetic they were toward my mom who was enormously stressed about her transition. Moving is NEVER fun, but Luke and Ruben almost made it enjoyable! Okay maybe describing a move as "enjoyable" is a stretch, but the experience was super smooth and not a scratch on anything. Two days later I had Ben and Bob? Bill? They were supposed to deliver a large piece of fright to my house but cancelled less than 24 hours before, stating it would be delivered between 9-10 am the following day. I called them at noon the following day and was put through to the driver, who was hours away in a different town. Already two hours late, he told me he would arrive between 2-3 pm (mind you, I'd taken two days off work to receive this delivery at this point. I called them at 4:30 to ask for an update and was told they would be there "within the next half hour". They finally arrived at 5 pm, a full day and a half later than promised and after missing 3 delivery times they gave, and basically made me waste 2 days of PTO. Would definitely NOT recommend. read more

We had a good experience with Cross Town Movers / Bekins Van Lines. They moved furniture, household appliances, fragile ceramic pieces and personal keepsakes. I found the two movers to be efficient, personable and hard working. They were careful with everything and did everything they said they would when they said they'd do it. They came to the rural Oregon home on time and ready to move. Everything was done in a few hours. A day and a half later they arrived as we had planned to the suburban Washington home to deliver our stuff. They arrived on time and everything was unloaded and set up as we had agreed. Had Crosstown move furniture and boxes from Florence to Eugene. Rocky and Brad were on time, extremely efficient and personable. They were careful packing and adding padding to our furniture, wrapping glass in padding and carefully moving in and out of the house. Did not track any dirt in the house! Even moved a few pieces of furniture for us that were too heavy for us to move. Charged a by the hour price and wasted no time moving out or in. Highly recommend. read more

I had a great experience with these guys! I have a 2 week gap between leases (annoying, I Know) so needed to get some furniture stored temporarily until I use them to move it in to my new place. Josh and Logan were incredibly quick and up front. They had my bed, couch, shelf, chair, and nightstand out within about a half hour and into storage. Crosstown Movers came highly recommended by a neighbor. The estimating was easy and the price was very reasonable. Tim and Barry showed up on time and they worked hard from the very beginning. They were very friendly and positive as they disassembled furniture and moved and loaded the truck. It was a difficult move of heavy furniture down two flights of stairs. They professionally padded and packed the truck. Upon arrival to our destination, the furnishings travelled well and everything was in perfect condition. Don't use this company! I definitely have doubts about the legitimacy of any 5 star ratings here as I found this company to be awful! Additionally, after moving, I have learned from a roofer, an electrician, a comcast installer, my escrow closer, and real estate agent that this company has an very bad reputation in Eugene. They damaged a number of items, left black hand prints on walls and furniture, damaged my ceiling when moving the bed and did not finish the job! Some boxes and furniture were left in the garage of my new home that needed to go in the house because they were in a hurry to leave. I was told they couldn't get the chairs through the door which of course was not true. I had to hire someone else to finish the job. They did not use blankets nor did they bag or shrink wrap as I was told they would do. TRULY AWFUL!! The only good thing I can say is that they were friendly, for the most part, while treating my belongings with no regard. I filed a complaint, called and emailed several times and was completely ignored by Chris as well as management at the national 800 number. read more

Arrived on time, very professional and moved a whole 2bed 2bath apartment in a decent time, they made sure the furniture doesn't get dirty while moving it and they always put a piece of cloth under the furniture when they want to put it down on a floor which i really appreciate. Didnt complain or seem tired despite the fact that they had to move a lot of heavy stuff. They also were very careful with my TV's and they didn't break a thing. Tools were ready in hand to detach and reattach my huge desk in my new apartment. I didnt have to move a single toe :) very happy. A bit pricey but would definitely recommend read more

I hired them to help my son with a local move in Corvallis. I was given a window of 2 pm to 4 pm for the movers to arrive. We didn't hear from anyone and could not reach anyone until one of the movers finally called at 5:30 to say they would be a couple more hours. By 5:30, not having heard from anyone, a U-Haul had been rented so we cancelled with Cross Town Movers. Terrible waste of time. read more

Cross town movers hit a tree in front of my house and refused to pay the bill to deal with the broken limbs. They claimed they did not have to pay because the branch was extending over the street lower than city requirements. There is a 200 foot stretch of street they could've parked in . It was pure reckless driving that they hit the tree branch. I'm very disappointed that they don't take responsibility for their actions. I wonder what other actions they don't take responsibility for. Find another mover read more

Yesterday Josh, Alex, and Cody moved me from my apartment to my new house across town. They couldn't have been more professional, friendly, or helpful. Moving out of my 3 BR apartment wasn't too unusual (though the Sleep Number bed might have killed a lesser crew!). However, the new house is on a hill in south Eugene and the driveway is incredibly steep...my car skids on it when it is marginally wet. They had to park the truck at the bottom of the driveway and carry everything up to the house. The moved me out and in up that hill in about four hours. Great job, guys!! read more

We hired Crosstown to move my elderly father. Two young men showed up on time and eager to work. We had packed almost everything, but they will do the packing if requested. They were courteous, fast and efficient. They finished ahead of schedule and with everything intact. Highly recommended. We used Crosstown two more times since my first review. The second time, one moved was great and helpful, but his partner was not interested in getting the job done. We had to ask him multiple times to keep moving. (He took frequent cigarette breaks.) For the most recent move, we were hesitant to call Crosstown, but there are not many options in the area. We asked the movers to meet us at 9am. When they hadn't shown by 9:15, I called. I was told that one of the movers had not shown up to work. The manager was unable to find a replacement. He did not expect to get us any help "for several hours". We were stuck with an elderly man that had to move today. We had taken time off from work and driven two hours to be here. Absolutely stuck. We fired them and rented a truck and moved ourselves. Last time I'll bother with Crosstown. Ever. read more
