They dropped the trailer early in the day so that we could get started early. Their driver also suggested getting some extra straps due to our stuff versus the bulkhead... Always a pleasure doing business with these guys. We encountered a few issues along the way but we have used them 3 times now with near seamless moves. The best option by far to do cross country moves, just make sure you know how to pack like to are playing Tetris so stuff doesn't jiggle around. Great experience with U-Pack. Second time I've used them. They are the most reasonable simulation to a long distance move that I know of, and have been reliable both times. My only concern this last time, was that I could not lock the bulkhead once my things were loaded into the trailer. I actually had to position a wood board in between the pipes that lock it into place to make sure it was secured in place. Thankfully there were no issues with things being missing, etc. read more

We had an amazing experience with U-Pack moving long distance. They dropped the pods a few days early for us and picked up a day late (completely to our advantage). The price they quoted me is exactly what we paid and delivery was prompt at our residence a little over a week later, exactly as expected. We unpacked the pods the night they arrived, and the empty pods were picked up promptly the next morning. And yes, while they are small, it actually worked to our advantage. We packed one pod with boxes and the other with furniture. The tight space didn't allow for movement and everything was delivered in the condition it was packed. The only thing that broke during the move was an item NOT packed in the pods. Everyone I spoke with through the whole process was amazing and took the time to answer ALL my questions and make sure we were satisfied. From start to finish, I could not have asked for a better experience. If I had to do this again, I would pick U-Pack again in a heart beat. read more

I am fine with the service they provide as far as the size of the pods and happy with the speedy delivery of the pods. The gentleman that delivered my pods was wonderful. He was efficient and so polite. My concern is with the movers they recommend to unload the pods. 1. They were 90 minutes late 2. They did not move my items in a safe and efficient way to minimize any injuries to themselves. They had a dolly but did not use it. 3. Not even 20 minutes into my move did one of them decide it was his smoke break. That 5 minutes break was more like 15 minutes. 4. They made me nervous with their frenetic behavior. I was fearful they would break my things. 5. While polite, they clearly were not in the physical shape to move items with the continuous huffing and puffing. I was worried they were going to hurt themselves. To conclude, would I use ABF again for the pods, yes. Would I use their recommended movers, NEVER AGAIN! We used UPack to move from Eugene, Oregon to Texas. I know, Why would we do that?... Good Question. I loved working with UPack. They make the process very smooth and easy. Everything was handled in a very professional way. The only BIG issue I had was Upack recommenced a company called Moving Staffers to load and unload the trailer. They were worse than awful. They packed the truck so poorly that we had so many pieces of furniture broken. Leggs broken. Bed frame punctured a hole in a mattress. Boxes smashed. I mean mashed! That is the short version of what we found when we opened the doors to the trailer. I will write a review on them if I can. We hired another moving company in Texas to unload. What a great company they were. I would recommend hiring UPack but hire your own Moving loading company. Do not use UPacks recommended company the Moving Staffer. That is why I gave UPack a 4 star instead of a 5 star. I would give Moving Staffer negative -5 stars. read more

Everything about this process was so easy from drop off of empty U-PACK pods in Oregon to pick up of empty U PACK pods in Arizona and every interaction in between. The drivers on both ends were very helpful placing pods exactly how I wanted and giving advise as to best placement. All personnel I dealt with via email and online, on the phone and in person were very responsive and helpful. It was really so easy and the actual containers looked smaller than I'd hoped but they actually fit as much as I'd hoped. The price beat the company Pods by almost $1000. I really can't say how straight forward and easy this was and how helpful and friendly all the personnel were. read more

**we used large truck, not the cube as pictured above*** This is on the cheap end of cross country moving. We lived near U of O campus in Eugene OR on an alley. I couldn't get a parking permit 2 days prior in Eugene for the length of the truck for main road closest to our alley where were lived. I had called the city month prior and was told it wouldn't be a problem( this is not ABFs fault) length and height of truck is just something to think of. Matt the terminal manager in Eugene couldn't have been more accommodating. We ended up hiring movers to pack our house and load at the terminal which was for the best since they can pack it higher/ better. It was delivered in Atlanta GA 10 days later. It was within the contracted time limit. Its just a bit challenging to plan logistics when you dont know exact delivery date until a few days prior. They picked up the empty truck on Friday night after being told they couldn't until Monday. That was a nice surprise to get out of the way. Great value for what you pay for. Big truck high off the ground and installing bulkhead is a pain is only reason I dont give it 5 stars. read more

A great experience with U-Pack Moving! I'll use them again. I have always moved myself until now, when I had too much stuff to take on a cross-country move by myself. I considered a couple of pod-based companies and ultimately chose U-Pack Moving's truck option. I got a quick (and accurate) quote for the portion of a 28' truck, plus a quote for each linear foot I might use beyond what we estimated I'd need. (Frankly, I don't know how most of us would accurately estimate the cubic feet of space we'd need for a move.) Even better, U-Pack agreed they'd subtract that per/ linear foot price for each foot *under* the amount of space I had asked for. You just can't get this flexibility with a pod company, though U-Pack Moving will do the same thing with (small) pods that they will drop off at your place: You only pay for the ones you use. Communication at all points of my business with U-Pack Moving was awesome-- from the first quote to the last when I called them to have the truck picked up. Everyone did just what they said they would and were always pleasant and helpful. The delivery drivers in both destinations worked with me, making sure I knew how to set up the ramp, bulkhead wall and brace, as well as how locking the truck would work. A word to the wise for anyone using one of these DIY and truck/container moving companies. See what your mover requires in terms of room to park AND see what your city/property managers/neighbors require. (One city needed me to buy a permit if I wanted to block off space on the curb so that my truck could be parked where and when I wanted it; the other city did not. Google satellite pictures can help you get a bird's-eye view of the street space around your new place if you are going somewhere unfamiliar). If you do the research it takes to help a professional driver get his 28' truck in and out of where you want it, you will not be disappointed. You just have to do your part in being professional about organizing room for a truck, The only downside to this option is the fact that you have to load your stuff in to a truck whose deck is a good 3'6" off the ground. The ramp provided is solid (and correspondingly heavy) so hire pros to help you or gather your strong friends. You will work harder than putting stuff into a pod that's at ground level. Your stuff will shift around in transit a bit, so pack intelligently and pad your delicate items liberally. U-Pack Moving provides some insurance, but you'll be better covered though your home-owner's policy. If you are worried about you packing skills, look into your own insurance for the best coverage for the risk. But on the top/lightest things of mine had moved and the bulkhead wall and brace were intact, just as I had left them. Know, too, that U-Pack Moving gives you less time to load and unload (two business days on each end), but I didn't find that I needed the full month of having a pod that the PODS company builds into their system. Either way, you can buy more storage time. And for the true DIY/budget-minded folks, you can save a bit more on your move if you wish to unload your stuff at one of their terminals, rather than having the truck dropped at your place. All and all, I am a fan of U-Pack Moving's basic business model: They act as a freight-forwarder for you. You pack your way and save money there, they provide great communication a great price and, best of all, flexibility in terms of the space you buy. read more

Driver showed up 8 hours after cube delivery window closed. Drivers won't deliver to my address in Eugene, news that was given to me after I paid for the service. Will need to unpack the cube at the storage center, rent another delivery service, reload on their vehicle and unpack later at the house. The biggest pain of it all in not the additional physical labor and time, but rather having to coordinate all of these logistics myself. read more

So. U-pack was less than half the price of Pods. I was pleased about that, moving states away. My only complaints would be that 2 pieces of furniture were completely broken into pieces. A desk, and a dresser. And secondly I was not aware that I had to call to have them pick up the containers, even though we had set an appointment for that day..‍ thus they were picked up a day later than planned. read more

My move was from Oregon to Michigan and the truck arrived in MI. the same day I got off the plane then was delivered to my door the following day. Both delivery men were helpful with directions, helping me get the bulkhead doors off for the unloaders. I was charged exactly what I was quoted. I recommend this company. Don't use this company. Their customer service is horrible and very rude. Long story short, my truck sat in a location for over 5 days and when it arrived they never called. Stated they had trouble with payment which was not true, then couldn't deliver on time. Items were all over the place inside my truck and packed well with many straps. Overall value is not good. Easier and cheaper overall to pay a moving company to pack/unpack and move you. read more

The drop off, set up, pick up and delivery went better than expected, even with OUR delays it was no problem. They were very good on the phone and able to meet all of our needs. Only two draw backs where the unavailability to contact on the weekends and if you only need an extra foot in the trailer you have to pay for two because the bulkheads are only every 2 feet, but that was negligible. Only a few crushed boxes, manly from bad packing which you do yourself. read more

Overall u-pack was great. The doors on the inside of the trailer were a pain to use and the ramp was also a pain! No way I could have done it on my own. Would have liked to be able to schedule when they pick up the trailer once it was packed they just say between 8am and 5pm. It was blocking our driveway so we couldn't get our travel trailer etc out until it was gone. (No room on street to do it before) for a long distance move it was very convenient despite a few things. read more
