I purchased my 2020 Ford Explorer last week and for the most part I had a good experience. I worked with Simo who listed to our wants and needs and really met us where we were. Why the three stars? I share the exact same concerns and Ruby stated in this Yelp review thread. When we got to financing the man who helped us was rude, unethical and completely dismissive. So please read this review and don't fall into his traps! So when we walked in he immediately demanded I sign here and there without reading or going over anything. I immediately asked to see the break down of the payments and final price (everything until this point had been verbal) well low and behold he through a out supper fast that my payments are + 20 dollars more than the agreed purchase price. Why? His explanation was the tax rate was higher where I live- but why not tell me this upfront? The sales team alllll knew where we lived as they asked for our drivers license and knew that this would happen. So if I would have signed all papers as he wanted me to I would've been stuck with a +20 payment. This guy also wanted me to buy the extended warranty package and was so extremely pushy and shady about it. He told us the same thing that he told Ruby as stated below and was so upset when I read over the Yelp review. He literally got up and left us! He told me "just sign here and here" and I kept telling him "no I'm going to read everything before signing"! In all- he ruined our experience by rushing such a critical part of a car buying experience. Would I go back? No . Even though I was able to catch most of the shade going on I still feel disrespected and not valued as a customer. I also didn't even finance through them because I did not trust anything being said. I purchased a cover for the bed of my truck. Paid upfront. They told me it'd be 4-5 days to get it. 3 weeks later I call - they lost my order. After 30 minutes, they find it and are not sure why no one called me. Oh by the way - it's an additional $400 do have it installed. why would you sell me something at a large price and not quote me the cost to install at the same time? Worst buying experience ever. I bought 3 other vehicles from Tracy Ford, but their current business practices are the worst. They fell they can lie to customers and charge extra or even change the deal at the last minute just to screw a longtime customer out of a few bucks. I ordered a truck online and had to choose a dealer for delivery, so I chose my local one that I've done many deals with. I even asked about dealer markups on new models and got the response that They don't play games. Not true! I could have used another dealer but I trusted them, big mistake. After getting the paperwork sent to my credit union and getting a check for the truck, when I went to pick it up they said the owner changed his mind and marked up the truck $10K. Just like that after waiting over a year for the new electric truck Tracy Ford was screwing me. I tried to split the $7500 rebate, but they wouldn't take less than $5K over MSRP. I was stuck paying the money or waiting longer for a vehicle. I told them I'd pay the $5K but would put "Tracy Ford Sucks" in the window. They told me do what you want as long as I paid the extra markup. I now drive out of town just not to use their service and will never think to buy from them again. Ford has horrible communication. They held my car for an additional 8 days past when it was ready to be picked up. They said they called twice on February 8th but my mailbox was full. So they never attempted to contact me again to tell me my vehicle was ready for pick up and what the cost was and ask if I wanted the additional repairs made. I called on February 16th and was told that it was ready, but nothing had been repaired other than my key. When I asked for them to not charge me for the last 2 diagnosis, those repairs I will take elsewhere, they said no... even though they held my car for 8 extra days! If I had to cover a rental cost that would have been over $800. The man in charge of the service department was arrogant and said yeah I remember you. I ordered a Mustang Mach E in December 2021, put down a $500 deposit was told there'd be no additional dealer markup for customer orders. 8 months later, the car is manufactured, shipped and the dealer calls me to deliver the shocking news that I have to pay a 3k markup if I want the car. The reason being some random (desperate) visitor to the dealership saw this car in their parking lot and offered to pay 5k over MSRP, Screw you Tracy Ford! The days of new and used car market crashing is not too far away, just look at what's happening with the housing market, call the builders in Tracy Hills and Mountain house and ask them how they were behaving arrogant just until 6 months ago and how desperate they are now to sell homes. A day of reckoning aways greedy car dealerships like yours. To all potential buyers at this "st"ealership, do you want to do business with a business that quotes a price and then bumps it up after you waited 8 months for your car to be manufactured and delivered? Ohh I just had to update this . So we bought a 2018 Ford sport explorer with the roof racks etc . Not even a year in the racks were broken and rattling .. so we take it in and they of course blame us . Lol we never use the racks ( and to this day still haven't ).. after yet another fight they " fix " them . Today I received a letter from FORD stating how this is a known problem and to bring my vehicle in for a free repair! Love it ! We had work done on our 2002 F-150 Super-Crew the Service writer Debby kept us constantly updated on the work they performed. The service technician appeared to take care of the repairs correctly when I did a once over all grommets and covers were not missing like the last time. Major improvement since last time. If I could give zero I would. Worst customer service ever. Service manager Rodney is the worst one. Two bad experience one they charged me for the recall job on the adaptive cruise control and second they broke my windshield where I had a small chip repaired by safelight and have a warranty and have in writing should not grow bigger and dropped the vehicle for service and not willing to replace or pay the deductible. They said chip grows but it never was an issue for 6months prior to dropping the vehicle for service. Their service is really bad and do want to offer help. They lost my business going forward. I've had several bad experiences with Tracy Ford, however my most recent is in regards to my prepaid maintenance plan that recently expired. I'm not going to go into details, but they are dishonest and very shady. Luckily, my prepaid maintenance is done and I no longer need to go back to them. I would suggest not getting the maintenance package. They will wait until it's expired to do anything anyway. read more

I should have read the reviews before scheduling a service appointment. My oil change appointment was for 2:00pm, and I walked out near 5:00pm. Almost 3 hours?! And we aren't talking any other service was required--just a basic oil change. But my irritation began when I entered the dealership--apparently my vehicle was previously serviced there with a different owner. And it seemed incredulous to the service staff that owner information listed under the VIN was different than my actual information. I've had this car almost a YEAR now. It is registered in my name. I purchased it from the VW dealership across the street. Why is this hard to believe? I will NOT return to this dealership. I should have learned my lesson. Took my 2008 f250 over due to high temp on my coolant. After the technician diagnose the issue, I got a phone call saying that the total cost of the repair was about $12500 and that it may cost more after the preliminary repairs. I wanted to get a second opinion and took it to another certified shop, after the diagnose, I found out that the only problem was leak on the thermostat housing which cost me around $2000. The price difference was substantial and it was really upsetting. This dealership is a total scam. I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP AGAIN. read more

It's been raining so much and my auto wipers were not coming on. I had asked about it last year at a different dealership and was told I would have to pay my deductible to check it out. So I just lived with it even though it used to work just fine when I bought my car the year before. Christian in the service department at the Tracy Ford Dealership checked it out for me when I was getting my oil changed and coolant flushed and saw it was only something that had gotten changed in the settings. He adjusted it and showed me how he did it. And then he went over what to do again when I need it off temporarily for the car wash. Christian really helped me out and did it as a courtesy. And I am thankful because it's pouring today and because it was a feature I liked having on my car. Go to Tracy Ford even if you live closer to another one. read more

I purchased a 2013 Mustang GT in November, 2013. It is my dream car. It had only 13,000 miles on it and was everything I wanted. My salesmen, Ron and Carl, were nothing short of perfect. My 1-star? I traded in a Ford Focus that I bought new about a year before from this dealership. The car had a KNOWN transmission issue that put me in fail-safe mode at midnight on the Altamont! All in all, I have purchased FIVE vehicles from this place. Just to be safe, I bought a very expensive, comprehensive maintenance plan and extended warranty for my new car. Literally ever bell and whistle you can buy. When I bought my new Mustang, I took it home and noticed what I thought was dirt around the GT label. It wasn't. It was a corrosion of the sealant that covers the plastic plate. I tried twice to get Ford to replace it, and they said it wasn't a covered item. I then asked if the dealer would cover the cost (it's about $200). I talked to everyone there. Bottom line: spend 50 THOUSAND dollars on a car package. Buy 4 other cars. Get no relief on a $200 part that should have been fixed before the sale. Tracy Ford: I hope this earnest comment costs you at least $200. Because you are not good people. read more

I've been looking for the perfect Bronco for months now. On Sunday I was doing some hunting and went to 2 ford dealerships. One was closed and the other said they had a Bronco when I checked online but I was then told they didn't when I arrived. I checked other locations and they either did not have any or wanted 10k over MSRP. I checked Tracy Ford, which is about 40 minutes from me, at about 6 and was able to chat with an employee within seconds. The employee, Simo, was very kind. I let him know exactly what I wanted and he told me to come check out this Bronco which sounded exactly like what I wanted. He didn't care that they closed in less than an hour. Simo was very nice the whole way through while also being very straight forward. He also got Essan, the finance director, to help me out with the deal. Essan told me to come back the next day so that he could work out some deals to get me at the price range that I wanted. He did the impossible and got me exactly what I wanted. He was very nice and did not try to blur any lines. He was very straight forward while also being as nice as possible. You could tell he is very knowledgeable and would stop at nothing until he knew that he tried everything he could to get you what you want. Over all they got me in a vehicle that I have been looking for on the very first encounter. I highly recommend this Ford and I could not thank the staff enough. Simo also came in the next day, which was his day off, to continue to help with the deal AND helped me transfer my belongings from my old car to my new car. I went in to buy a Ford Raptor from these guys, they wanted 20k over for a the Kelly Blue Book MSRP value to buy the truck so they wanted a total 90k for the truck, Just go to Brentwood Ford I got the Raptor from them for the MSRP value and saved 20k. Don't Be A Fool and Pay over MSRP price unless it's a Ferrari or Porsche there's no reason to do this for a truck. Also, THEY PULL THIS SAME STUNT with t Mustangs. Bait and Switch is a terrible sales tactic; I wish were punishable. While shopping online for a Ford Mustang Mach E, I found a few around the area that would meet my needs. Inventory moves fast and I know this so I was eager to get documents signed. After they contacted me I requested all the relevant information for the vehicle so that I could make my decision. In other words the MSRP on the window sticker was the only price I had been quoted. I approve everything and they request that I fill out the credit app online. I filled out the app. They call back to say, "Hey, by the way, I wanted you to know that the actual price is $56,435." This new price is 5k over MSRP and waited till after I was approved for financing to "spring" it on me. I acknowledged that this was the first I was made aware of the situation and the sales rep said he would speak to the manager, another awful sales tactic. I told them I would be willing to pay a little more than MSRP as the vehicle well equipped is hard to find. He asked how much, I said, $500 over MSRP not the 10% extra they are asking me to pay. He called me back and informed me they were willing to apply the $500 credit from Ford Motor Co. and the current promotion of $1500 for using Ford Motor Credit. I was stunned. I called them out on their unwillingness to negotiate at all. They were applying National incentives available to any dealership and pretending like they were willing to negotiate. I don't understand how a local dealership in the age of instant communication is so callous with their reputation to flagrantly slight new potential customers. read more

My experience with Tracy Ford was horrible. My daughter test drove a new bronco, liked it, proceeded to fill out paperwork to purchase it. Another couple walked in to look at the same vehicle and once they found out my daughter was filling out paperwork top purchase it, they skipped the test drive and offered 3K more than my daughter had already agreed on a price and tried to get her to bid higher! This is the most frustrating situation I have ever experienced! The car I purchased here has had NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. Most recently I brought the car in for a recall and ever since my right vents are blowing cold air only, Fords service department will not as a courtesy diagnose this issue they want to charge me $165 to do so! Update on our horrible experience not that long ago, it's still horrible even though it's done and over with, our first payment came up. And no paperwork was ever sent, we had to way of knowing who to send the payment to. We had to go out of our way to search for it and call the bank with no account number or any details on the account. Come to find out the bank never sent out anything because the very !very ! Special finance rep didn't add the apartment number. After we mentioned to him multiple times that the apartment number needed to be added. We tried to multiple times get in contact with them via text and email to let them know (no response from anyone) I'm also driving around with no updated tag sticker because it has not yet been sent. We received registration but no sticker (expired tags) Tracy Ford is nothing but a rip off and a disappointment! Thought maybe it was just the buying experience but it's NOT. ! No smile nothing. So I tell them to do a diagnoses and they say it costs $290. Yes 290 so what do I do you ask, take it to another ford where they charge exactly half that. We went to buy my wife a new ford explorer and was met by Aaron. Supper nice salesmen. My wife and I hit it off with his friendly personality and good customer service. On the other end we were putting 25k down on a 58k sport edition explorer. When it went to the sales manager they tried ripping us off charging us tax on 58k when it should have been taxed at 32k when we were dropping 25k down. putting a extra 5k in taxes that we not financing into there pocket. They were trying to avoid using ford financing and sticking us with capitol financing at a higher interest rate. I called my sister who runs 11 different dealerships and put her on speaker to question why the payments were 900. She immediately broke them down and got to the bottom line. She took what they were trying to sell us on to her finance department and had her general manager run the numbers and uncovered that they were trying to charge us 5000 extra dollars in taxes to our loan amount we were not trying to finance. She immediately asked him why they were not using Ford financing, and they stated they put the credit scores out there to give the banks the opportunity to bid on the loan. She again question why they were not using Ford finance and instructed us to go to Bill grant in Brentwood for the same car more options at a better price. Long story short as we were leaving the building sales manager came and asked what it was going to take to seal the deal and we stated exactly what my sister had said and if you could not do it, we were taking our business elsewhere. Out of nowhere our payment dropped $300 and we ended up with Ford financing. We end up purchasing the car, and still regret doing it due to the fact, we could've had a four-wheel-drive car with the same options for the same price at Bill Grant in Brentwood. Shame on us for not listening to her and taking our business else where. Happy with the car so far but not with the experience and shadiness of the sales and finance team. If we could go back and do it all over again I would do it 10 fold!!! When you see trucks going through tracy saying f*** tracy ford on there windows it's not just a fluke, seams like a lot of people feel the same way about there experience dealing with them too.
