Wow! We are so pleased with the service from M Garage. Son's car was running rough and not accelerating on a Sunday evening drive from Sac to Salinas. Ended up on roadside and I searched for mechanics on Yelp. Of the 3 we identified as possibilities, M Garage was the only one which could get him that week. New spark plugs and coils addressed the immediate issue and we also took their recommendation for new serpentine belts and timing belt as both the mileage and years in service saud it was time. Prices keep going up but I can trust them to fix it right the first time and not get ripped off I can't tell you how many times when I lived in SanJose I got ripped off!My go to shop gave me a nine hundred estimate on a pump. I got a second opinion and the guy said it's a high pressure hose not the pump he only charged me $300. I found a new mechanic. Then we moved to Mountain House. My daughter said they put their BMW in the shop at M Garage. So I took my car to them I already had an estimate for the work I needed so I gave M Garage a try they saved me Two hundred. I was told by O'Reilly that I needed an alternator, bought the part and headed to M Garage after speaking to Nate and providing me a price that's considerably less than a competitor for its replacement. Automatically the staff there were so friendly and welcoming. Debi at the front desk was so sweet, she gave me the feeling that as a woman in a car shop I wouldn't be taken advantage of, lol. Nate later called me that after their testing, told me it's not the an alternator problem and a battery replacement is what I needed instead. I returned the alternator to O'Reilly, Nate charged me nothing. I bought the battery and returned to Nate who replaced it. Car started like a charm. I am beyond irritated and upset at this place. At first it seemed nice. Family oriented business. The front manager, a woman, the co-owner & wife of business was all nice, hospitable, offered me water, told me the wait time, etc. it was great. I came in because my Dodge Ram A/C has been out for a few weeks and the windows recently stopped working. And the weather here in Tracy is starting to hit the 90's so it's not longer safe to drive. Anyways, she tells me to diagnose the problem it's $100 automatically. If we decide to fix it there the $100 goes towards payment. If not, they keep it. So of course that's fine. She says wait time will be 1-2 hours. No worries, I had lunch, my daughter had her tablet. We're waiting. 2 hours go by, she comes and says they had to take the whole dashboard apart, they still have to work on it for like another 7-8 hours she said. I said wow, how will I get home? What's this gonna cost? Have you figured out what's wrong with it? She then says 2/3 of the blenders or something of that extent are broken. You're looking at paying $400 the most!!!! KEY WORD. SHE QUOTED ME AND SAID $400 the most and we repeated that sentence at least 5 times each. So I said $400? Okay that should be fine. She offered me a ride home which was generous. Then they call me the next day and say they found some other things wrong.. blah blah blah.. i knew right then and there this fucking place played me!!! It's gonna be $1,886.00 to fix A/C & windows. What in the actual fuck? Like, I was quoted & told $400 max. If I knew it would be anymore that $400 I would've told her NOOOO. Wtf? I'm not working right now, neither is my fiancee do to this pandemic, we have a kid & bills!!!! How in the hell are we suppose to afford $1900 to fix AC in our car when we can barely make rent right now. It's so sad that even in these hard times, places still try and play you. Like, have you no heart? So now i'm irritated.. I have to wait a whole nother day to go pick my truck back up, and it's not even gonna be fixed. So sad. I wish I can be a mechanic so I never have to go to these piece of shit places that just use and abuse people for a $. read more

They immediately said yes and I was so relieved bec we have been turned away already, twice. I had high hopes that they would be able to resolve our issue, but alas, our car could not be fixed. Was in the area purchasing a used car and called them up to do a pre-purchase inspection. They were able to see me immediately and I brought over the truck for their inspection. They did a very thorough job going over all the mechanical issues with me and overall gave me a good feeling about the truck and what work would need to be done in the near future. With their report, I was able to talk down the price and feel confident about the purchase. This is a great family run business and while I was waiting, I got a lot of great tips of how to negotiate the price down and they really made sure I was taken care of. I stopped by for an oil change at M Garage and this family owned auto shop not only had great service but it was quick and the quality of work was impeccable. Nathan the head mechanic was awesome. Provided me great maintenance tips and help educate me about the different parts of my truck. And the lady managing the front, Debbie, was super friendly and even offered me a free Foster Freeze ice cream cone as I waited! Even though it was 45 dg outside but it's the thought that counts! I highly do not recommend this place. I was trying to schedule my wife's car to change the fluids. The office manager was very rude. She told me she was gonna call me right back to get me scheduled. I don't see why it was so hard to make a schedule for me. It was an easy task just to change fluids in my car doesn't seem like she knows what she's doing, I already did it myself. Too much of a hassle to ask her to get me scheduled to save me some time. I realize it's easier to do stuff yourself. You can't rely on anyone. I waited for a callback never got one, so I just got it done myself I highly do not recommend this place they do not know how to schedule or call you back the office manager which was a lady! was also rude. She was kind of giving me attitude. I changed my review around. She called me back the next day. which I've already finished changing all the fluids on my car I was told I was going to get a call right back that day so to me at least she tried calling back. I wish it would've been sooner because I really had good experience with this place. I hope next time I call, everything will change around and I can change it to a five star review. I can tell you they're honest, but they messed up some things. They changed oil pan on my truck and when I got it back I already drove it home when I noticed they didn't reconnect or reroute the vacuum lines and they melted all over the headers. It's been too long to even try to settle with them because how can they believe me at this point, but they're responsible for me needing to replace my vacuum lines which I still haven't gotten done and my truck is still down. Not to mention, they wanted to replace the whole engine at first without even inspecting if the part they thought was broken was actually broken. Not until I explained past work I've done did they actually verify the engine was fine, but if I said yes replace the engine I woulda been out a lot of money unnecessarily. I realized they were honest, but not impressed by their knowledge/skills. I've also had numerous family vehicles worked on there as well with unsatisfactory results. I needed to get a new alternator for my car. I called a couple places for quotes. But Debbie was the one that stood out the most. She was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and had great customer service. She was able to schedule an appointment for my car within that same week I called. Not only did they replace my alternator but they noticed that I needed more power steering fluid which they replaced. The price for parts and service was pretty good! I would definitely bring my cars back here for any services. From the first phone call I made to picking up my car, the customer service was amazing! And that's hard to find these days. I cannot give this shop six stars - if so I would. I have never been to a shop that works so well with customers, is polite, helpful, caring, and above all can fix your car for such a good price, it made me think am I being punked?! I called and asked about pricing for putting in new front and rear brake pads on my SUV. I was quoted a price. When I came in, and the mechanics looked at my truck and told me I actually needed rear rotors. That made the price go up a bit. Now anyone who has has brake work done on their car knows that rotors can be costly. And that sometimes shops tell you that you need rotors to raise the price on you. So I was a little skeptical. The owner/head mechanic actually took me into the shop and had me look, and feel the rotors that needed to be replaced (AMAZING!). I was able to really see that they needed to be replaced. They quoted me a new price. I needed to return the brake pads I had purchased from Autozone, when I got there the shop next door told me that they could do the rotor job for less than what M Garage quoted me. I called back to M Garage to see if he could match this price, since they were so friendly and helpful. He matched it! They are a wonderful little shop that does massively awesome work! I didn't give this 5 star review just because of that, I came to this shop under a huge time crunch because my car wasn't passing smog due to my 02 sensors. I can only get the car worked on, on Saturday's because of my tough work schedule during the week and not being in town till after closing time. Nate took care of my car on a Saturday and notified me about a few other issues it was having that I wasn't aware of. Not only that, I realized I bought the wrong parts for my car and he ordered new ones for $40 cheaper and took care of it the following Saturday. M Garage was a life-saver for me. After my car had died and my town truck driver told me my battery looked bad, there was a burning smell coming from my car when I got home. I was really scared and had to take the day off to figure out what was wrong with my car. When I called M Garage, they answered promptly and didn't try to push any diagnosis on me at all. They invited me to come in, and I came straight over. Once I got there, they had already communicated with each other and knew exactly what I'd already said on the phone. There was no wait, and the guy went out to diagnose my car as soon as I got there, and even turned on the tv for me while I waited. I wasn't interested in tv but it was a nice touch. He came back about 20 mins later as promised, and told me exactly what I needed to know. Apparently my battery was way past needing replacement, so he offered to do it right then and there for me - again, no wait! I took a few minutes to think, then took him up on the offer and once again - he did the work promptly and right on time. I found M Garage through Yelp and the reviews were great, so I called to make sure they work on my car (Mazda3). They do work on it. When I got to the shop, I was greeted and within 2-3 minutes the mechanic started working on my car. The whole atmosphere here is very nice. It's a family owned business. Everyone is really nice. I had brought in my own oil filter and it was actually the wrong one so the mechanic should me what the actual oil filter was and what I had brought in. Pricing wise, this place is great! I don't know much about other places in Tracy but I do know that they're way better priced than Tracy Mazda. read more

My wife's minivan (Toyota Sienna) water inlet pipe (coolant) broke and needed to be replaced. After reading all the great reviews for M Garage, I decided to give them a try. I called them and Surin (the owner) answered the phone. I explained to him the problem and asked him for a rough estimate, which he did, but disclaiming that he would know better once he can verify the issue with the car, which was absolutely understandable. BTW, the quote he gave me was half of what the dealer had quoted me. I towed the car to his shop where Surin greeted me with a friendly smile and asked me if I was the owner of the minivan. I said yes, talked a little bit and then he took a look and said no problem. He will have it ready that same day. 3 hours later I received a call telling me that the car was ready. Amazing! Surin seems to be an honest, hard working person and his staff are very friendly. They don't strike me as the kind of people who are out to get the most out of your pocket, but strive to provide you with an honest day of work. Dropped my car off here following some Yelp research....needed a timing belt change and a few other small items done, I was given a quote for the work required, and left it with them. I got a call a few hours later, they had identified a couple of other small issues that would be wise to repair whilst the car was in pieces (a new fan belt etc, as the cars never had them replaced, I said go ahead). They called me 3 days later (waiting on parts from main dealer) and told me it was ready to be picked up, I went to get it, they had even smogged it AT NO CHARGE and the bill was very reasonable for the amount of work done.
