Got a fair quote and received excellent service. Will definitely use them again. Have had bad experiences at other shops.

Juan offered to look at the issues I was told by the dealership I had. Some of the items the dealer said I needed Juan was upfront and said it wasn't necessary or could wait. He agreed with a few issues (brake pads was #1) and two other items he will address next week. Once I left the business, I felt a sigh of relief. I didn't feel played or taken advantage of. Juan never rushed me and explained things in a way I understood. I appreciate him and his staff. I just got my brake pads done today and next week, he will complete the other items. If you need automotive work done, you owe it to yourself to go to G&J Auto repair.

I debated on writing this, but I thought it would be good for consumers to know…read more I reached out to G&J for a quote on a transmission fluid change on a newer Chevy Tahoe. They QUICKLY reached back out and quoted me over a $1000 for the job, while Elk Grove Chevy quoted me just over $700. I knew this job entailed dropping the pan and working around the exhaust. Something that is really easy to do once on a lift. All in all...a 1.5 hour job, and that's a BIG stretch. I shared this dealer quote with them, and it was basically shared with me that I should go there (not in a rude way). Well, obviously I did. The moral of the story for me and for others should be, DON'T assume ind. auto mechanics will be cheaper than the dealership. I ALWAYS want to support local business, but I will not support local businesses when they can't do a job at a fair price, and I feel like the trend with specialized labor has been leaning way towards a place it never used to be.
