Brought my Mercedes to get serviced here as they specialize in European vehicles. They did a inspection on the vehicle provided with the service "B" I brought it in for. When I picked up my vehicle and received the invoice I couldn't believe the price I was being charged for the services provided. 50 to 100 percent mark up on the parts replaced such as the engine, cabin, and oil filters. Not to mention the brake fluid service. All in all almost $1000 for a oil change, brake fluid service, filter replacement and "resetting" the service reminder. I cannot stress enough to not come here as the front desk employee has to constantly talk to the owner over the phone for any small questions that may be asked. And also the shop always smells like someone is smoking weed. read more

They had my car for over a month. Never called to update me or nothing. When I finally called them everyday for a week straight they ended up working on it. Don't go here they charge more than the dealership!!! I brought my Audi Q7 here for service the price for repair he gave was pretty high compared to my knowledge of what it should cost for repair. He said the price would be lower than the dealership. I called the dealership and and their price was $800 dollars cheaper. Buyers Beware. Parts markup is insane!!! You will save money if you go to the dealer and probably wont be sold things you don't need unlike the experience i am referring to . I understand having overhead and a reasonable markup, but taking advantage of a customer by buying a parts that cost $67.44 and selling it for $1240.00 and another for $172.65 and selling it for $1650.00 is absolutely ridiculous this doesn't even include labor. Not to mention the parts replaced are questionable since the parts replaced dont usually go bad the way they claimed and no photos would be provided of said parts. read more

Autobahn marks up part prices significantly, they directly admitted it to me. They claim that the markup "helps pay the employees salaries", I thought the $155/hr service fee is more than enough to pay the mechanics who probably aren't even making $40/hr. With the markup on part prices they are profiting over $250/hr. It was actually even more than that because they also charged for parts that clearly weren't broken. If you think you need to pay more because you have a foreign car, you really don't. Go buy your own parts from FCP euro and take them to a mechanic that appreciates your business. This used to be a customer friendly shop but clearly things have changed. In recent times it does not look very busy so I'm betting other people feel the same way. I was told the owner would call me back about the markups. He never called me back and in the end I found a guy that found ultimately fixed all the parts that were broken which wasn't even 1/3 the cost I was being charged at autobahn. My total price was over $500 less than autobahn and shiv auto service (takes drop offs in mountain house) took less than a day to complete the project when the empty autobahn shop took 2 days just to act like the problem was more than it was and overcharge. I should mention shiv auto service even through in an oil change. read more

I took my BMW in to Autobahn Motors last december, Upon walking in through the glass doors you'll find that you will be sitting there alone for a while as there are only a few people working there and they are usually working on a car. The work itself was done as expected except I had asked them to fix the driver seat and I even wrote a note down for it to be done. The guy was really reluctant to acknowledge it'll be done. I guess they pick and choose what they want to fix... I picked up the car a few days later, seat still broken but it wasn't on the work sheet so I didn't complain. They said that my car leaks coolant from the radiator an the brakes need to be replaced... I changed the radiator myself (super easy) and the radiator still looked brand new, There was a light coolant leak but we found out it is from a simple hose... They wanted $500 to change the radiator, I had the brakes checked out twice at different shops and they both tell me they don't need to be replaced yet (Autobahn wanted $520 to change the brakes)... So they just throw in some things you'll hardly check and that is easy to fix to make more money off you. Their labor rate is high, $100 a hour. Recently my brother bought himself a BMW that needed some work, A oil leak and something on the driveshaft... They inspected the car and noted what needed to be done, The guy said the car wasn't worth keeping or fixing. After supposedly inspecting the car they couldn't find the oil leak and refused to drive the car "to find the oil leak" because of the problem with the driveshaft... Neither me or my brother are car illiterate, We are just lazy so we would prefer to pay to have our cars fixed if we don't feel like fixing it ourselves... So with that said, We both know you don't need to test drive a car to find a oil leak, Just look under the car on a lift and visually see the drips. They charged my brother to steam clean the engine which they never did. It was apparent they just didn't want to work on the car. Like how they didn't want to fix the seat in my car. My brother ended up fixing his BMW himself in about 3 hours time, Saving him obviously $300 in just labor. and right now my BMW is at a shop in Livermore for a few more minor repairs and the seat (which is the reason i'm on yelp right now, i was looking up reviews for shops). So to sum it up. -This place does ok work, They're no worse or better then every other shop. -They tell you things are wrong with the car when they are not. -There are some rather "rude" and unprofessional signs in the office, It is humorous but I don't think appropriate for a shop that caters to the more "higher end" vehicles. (personal opinion, yours might differ) -They choose what they want to fix and what to work on -They have a high labor rate (might as well go to the dealer) -There is no one to greet you at the front office, which will lead to you awkwardly standing around for 5-10 minutes until someone notices you as they are walking outside. I wouldn't recommend this shop unless you live nearby and in dire need of repairs... If your car is still drivable without hurting it more, Then look else where. read more

This is a high quality European auto shop! I recently took my BMW to get serviced here. Kirn was the person I worked with. He was courteous, friendly and a pleasure to work with. He informed us of everything he did on my car and was in constant communication with me. He had the car done in a reasonable amount of time. The reason why I give this shop 5-stars was for Kirn. He went above and beyond the call of duty. My dad dropped me off in his Mercedes and Kirn noticed that the sunroof wasn't manually closed properly (the motor broke). Knowing that it was going to rain soon he took a look and was able to close it with the tools he had. Kirn could have sent us on our way but it was his customer service that made my dad and myself satisfied customers. It's not always easy for owners of quality European cars to find a good shop. Dealerships are very, very pricey. Independent garages most often lack the diagnostic tools and technical expertise to properly maintain these cars. The best solution is to locate a shop with mechanics that have spent time at a dealership and have had factory training but also have the business acumen to branch out to open their own shop. Autobahn is such a garage. I drive a Porsche Boxster. Kirin, who assisted me at Autobahn, spent a number of years at a Porsche dealership in Fremont, California. He knows the ins and outs of these fine cars. Prices at Autobahn are reasonable given the types of vehicles they service and the quality of their work. My car only needed an oil change this trip but, at Autobahn, that included an all around check of fluids, tires, and such - just as it would have at a Porsche dealer. **Note that Autobahn will be changing locations over the coming month. I took my BMW to Kirn to have the tire sensor light looked at. I had originally taken my car to Les Schwab to have the sensors replaced but the sensor light never turned off after they were replaced. It turned out the incorrect sensors were put in. After discovering this, not only did Kirn replace all the sensors in my car to the correct ones, he went above and beyond and called Les Schwab, spoke to management and arranged for me to have my account credited back! To whom it may concern: On May 25, 2018, our Motorhome would not stay in gear on the highway outside of Tracy, CA. It shifted into neutral again and again. We pulled over and began calling mechanics suspecting a transmission problem. Among those we called, was Kirn Gill at Autobahn Motors. We told him that we had a 2006 Dodge View Sprinter motorhome on a Mercedes chassis. So he knew what we had and that it shifted into neutral on the freeway when it should have stayed in gear. We could drive it a short distance - 1/2 block and it would stop. Kirn reassured us that Autobahn Motors were the only authorized Mercedes dealers in Tracy, and he said, "No matter who you bring it to, they will send it to us because we are the only company that can fix Mercedes." He encouraged us to get a tow truck and have it brought to his business at 2830 Auto Plaza Way, Tracy, CA. The California Highway Patrol found the only available towing service that could help us on this busy 3-day weekend to be in Stockton. They sent him out. He towed it to Autobahm Motors. He charged us $875. Kirn accepted the motorhome and told us it was probably a "conducting plate." During the next few weeks, we called to find out that, although he changed the glo plug circuitry on the engine of the motorhome and charged us $790, he didn't work on the transmission part. On June 15, we called and Kirn told us that there were metal pieces of transmission parts in the oil pan, and we would need a new transmission. He would not do the job, and we would need to have it towed to Modesto or Pleasanton. If Kirn was not sure he could do the job, he should have told us at the beginning. We could have had it towed to a service department that could handle the job. We would like Autobahn Motors to either replace the transmission at their place of business as suggested to us the day of the break-down; or pay to have it towed to a service department that will replace the transmission. Kirn refused. We decided to cut our loses with Kirn. We hired local towing service, took it to a transmission company that had a large lift, ordered the correct transmission delivered there, had all the work done at our expense. Beware. read more

Very unprofessional business. I had called 1 week in advance to schedule an oil change, was insured that they would be able to order a special oil filter and have my car serviced the same day. Day of appointment, I dropped my car off at 8am, when I called back around 1pm to see when I could pick it up, they told me that they just ordered the oil filter that day and it would be there the next day. No one bothered to tell me that when I dropped it off or bothered to call me later telling me they will keep my car overnight. Disregarding the fact that people have work and need their car. Ron - who I spoke to on the phone said "I'm doing the best I can " - that's not good enough. You can't expect to waste people's time and not communicate that you are keeping someone's car for an extra 24+ hours and have costumers be okay with that. Then they tried to quote me 1200$ for an alternator gasket, the part is only $16! They are saying it will take 12 hours to replace! First off, we have had work done on our vehicles here several times. The reason for this review is for an incident that occurred yesterday. When I went in to pay for my fuel pump repair (@$1082.) The car was pulled up tight in the front, with curbs surrounding, Kirn asked if I'd like it pulled out front and I said yes. (By the way, the car was towed here and had no contact with the building as we watched and it was several car lengths away at all times.) Anyway, immediately upon pulling it out front, I noticed a big green scrape across my front passenger bumper area. When I pointed it out, Eddie said "we didn't do that. I'm the only one that drives the car and I didn't do it..... What do you want me to do, remove the paint? This doesn't look like our paint..." I tried to pick a piece of the paint off the reflector top show him it's an exact match to his wall paint. He still said he didn't do it. Well somebody there did and they are denying it. I couldn't reach my husband at the time of the incident. Eddie proceeded to wipe off all the paint quickly. Anyway, when my husband called and said there's damage to our car they said your car's not in great shape anyway or something to that effect. Needless to say, damage was done, shirking responsibly occurred, they charge $125 an hour!! for labor, and when I originally received the quote, I said that seems very high. I asked how much was the part because online the genuine oem fuel pump from partsgeek.com is listed at $318.65, and the sending unit at $196.73. They charged me $352 and $224 respectively. One would think they would be able to get a discount as well. I'm very disappointed as to how this was handled. I will not be back. read more

This place was sort of laid back, like most good BMW repair shops, and they did exactly what i requested. I needed them to inspect my recently purchased used BMW, and they found and quoted all the issues, so i can now go to a dealership and have them repaired under warranty. They also performed an oil change that was reasonably priced for a newer bimmer. They were perfectly fine with not having the expensive work done there, no pressure, very cool and professional. I normally don't write reviews but after experiencing the awful service here and seeing that no else has had a similar experience I thought I'd take the time to let everyone know they aren't as good as they will let on. I called into the shop and talked to Kirn (seems like a nice guy but overconfident in his abilities) about my car that refused to start. The previous night I had no issues and I quickly came to the conclusion that it was the battery or fuel pump. Kirn helped out and got me a tow (overpriced -the tower didn't even list how many miles he had to drive and just rounded up to the nearest whole number 'no biggie just wanted my car fixed') to his shop. After getting the car they didn't call me back until the next day to tell me what they found was wrong, they were guessing it was the fuel pump and estimated that it would be $650 to replace with parts and labor. I reluctantly said ok and I guess I went too far and told him how much the car meant to my dad and that I NEEDED it to be running. Well about a week or so later after they received the part and installed it they called me back and said they were having issues keeping it running. Well now heres where the story goes from ok to awful; he gave me a laundry list of things he needed to do to the car and the estiamte jumped up to ~$1600, then I made another mistake I told him how much money I had ($1000). Kirn quickly said oh we can do you a favor then let's see how much work we can do for your $1000. They said they changed the rotor and cap and gave me some used spark plugs. When I got my car back I have never seen somethig run so awful it would barely even stay on!! And while paying for this mess the mechanic even joked well if you bring it back with the extra money we can get it running for you like new. NO WAY!!! I went to my own mechanic who looked at my car for ~4 hours and he couldn't believe another shop let me drive my car away from them. My mechanic said they missed a major fuel line leak which was a huge fire hazard and got my air/fuel ratio completely incorrect for my car. He told me if the fuel pump was the issue then they overcharged and missed the necessary clean up. Additionally on the invoice there is no price paid for parts so they might just be putting whatever price they feel on their parts. I think this might be illegal actually. After this experience I no longer trust the reviews on yelp and would recommend doing your own independent investigation of the shop or ask your trusted friends. STEER CLEAR! read more
