Manic Motors surprised us a couple times in very unexpected ways and made us return customers for life. First surprise, extended selection. We saw two vehicles online but ended up test driving and considering four. They have new vehicles coming in just as fast as they're selling them. BMW, Mercedes, Tesla, Dodge, GMC - they will likely have what you're looking for. For us, we're a Tesla family through & through. Can't beat the reliability and cost of ownership on top of the increasingly pampering features being auto-updated every year. They had at least a dozen Teslas on their lot, and more off-site. Their selection is like digging into Mary Poppins bag, they just keep pulling out so much more than you expect. Second surprise: Paul Paul was courteous and knowledgeable, as expected, from the start. He showed us the two vehicles we saw online, about 6 more that looked great, and even a couple models that we weren't even planning on considering - again, great selection. Manic Motors was our very first stop in our car shopping adventure and, despite the great prices, I could not allow myself to be 'sold' at my first stop - just a personal conviction in life. We left Manic Motors in hopes of finding more great offers elsewhere. This is where Paul surprised us. He cautioned us about being aware of some shady practices but wished us well in our search. Come to find out, Paul was absolutely right TWICE with two separate dealerships - one had promised a particular feature online & over the phone, but couldn't fake the Carfax report, the other dealership had almost no knowledge of Teslas (how to open the doors, calculate range at full charge, types of configurations, etc.) and were extremely pushy - even to the point of lying to our face. *** BAD REVIEWS on Livermore Toyota and Tracy Hyundai coming soon! *** But, back to Paul. Just before we discovered the 3rd dealership was ultra-pushy, we had messaged Paul that we found a vehicle that was a slightly better year and trim than what he had on his lot. He was gracious and congratulated us. We waited two days for this car and THEN we saw the ugly side of the 3rd dealership. Although our daughter liked this car a slight bit more than all the others we saw that week, I refuse to purchase anything from someone who disrespects my wife and daughter. Needless to say, we went back to Paul since they did have my daughter's very-close-second-place vehicle. Paul was amazing. He welcomed us back, gave us a great price, and made the buying experience pain-free. It's a different world today than it was when I was growing up. More and more difficult to trust people at their word these days. This was a hard lesson that Paul warned us about and it hit us immediately after leaving Manic Motors. Paul was genuine and up-front about the whole process, what he's able to do and what he couldn't. In a world where promises are often counterfeited, even from seemingly large & established businesses, it imperative to find someone you can trust. Paul and Manic Motors earned our trust and our future business. We'll be checking with them soon for Teslas for our soon-to-be-driving younger children. The staff here are amazing and I can't thank them enough. Huge shout out to Caleb for making my dreams come true and being SO patient with me. You guys are awesome. My only complaint is that after I bought the car I did have to spent about $900 in parts (plus several hours of my own labor) on Intercooler hoses, alternator, and belt tensioner within the first week. But after that, the truck was solid. I had an idea while I was checking out the engine bay but I didn't realize I'd have to immediately drop that much money. **Day2 It's very telling that instead of resolving this matter privately and professionally, Rick, the owner of Manic Motors, decided to take over my review and publicly "defend" the dealership. In my original post, I included copies of my email communication with Brock, showing every attempt I made to handle this situation respectfully and directly. Rather than acknowledge those facts or take accountability, Rick chose to respond publicly with excuses and half-truths, which only makes the business look unprofessional and defensive. A reputable dealership would have apologized and followed through on its promises instead of trying to argue with a customer online. His public response doesn't solve anything, it only proves how unwilling Manic Motors is to take responsibility or do what's right. After seeing Rick's public comment trying to "resolve" my complaint, I want to make the facts clear. You have had possession of the vehicle since August 20, 2025, after it suffered a complete engine failure only a few weeks after purchase. The engine seized due to no oil/ low oil pressure caused by a spun piston, which was diagnosed by your own mechanic. Despite that finding, no repairs were ever completed, and the vehicle has remained in your possession. You also initiated and completed a loan buy-back with Westlake Financial without my knowledge or consent. I discovered this only after contacting Westlake directly. Even after that cancellation, you have continued to withhold my down payment and now publicly admit that you are conditioning its return on me signing a "hold harmless" or release agreement. To be clear, I have never refused resolution. I've simply refused to sign away my legal rights or accept terms that are neither lawful nor ethical. I have already filed formal complaints with the California DMV Investigations Division, the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division, and the Better Business Bureau, who are now reviewing your handling of this transaction. I stand by my experience and the facts. I hope this situation serves as a reminder that consumers have rights and deserve to be treated with honesty, respect, and fairness. Day 2 for Yelp. We purchased a 2010 Maxima from Manic Motors. I am fully aware that buying an older vehicle would need some care, but in this case the amount that was needed was nearly the price of what we paid for the car. The Salesmen and the mechanic all told us that the car was fine, it was not. The Mechanic would said "he couldn't say too much" when I asked about an engine squeal. Turns out that after paying ~$5000 I had another $4000 in repairs that were needed just to make the car safe to drive. When I took the car to my mechanic, whom I have know for 20 years, I was told that error codes were reset before it was sold to me, a hose was disconnected, there were multiple leaks in gaskets, and other various mechanical issues. This dealership seems to be okay selling problem vehicles to customers. They also "add" and anti-theft deterrent as part of their package which marks-up the price by $500, likely most of it is profit. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND caution when buying a vehicle here. Bring your own mechanic with you to check out the cars. Do not trust, but verify what you are being told. The feeling I have now is like I was completely taken advantage of by Manic Motors. read more

I would honestly rather drive all the way to Sacramento than deal with this zero-customer-service business.They explicitly advertise that their team is NOT a bunch of "jackasses," but their actions prove otherwise. This is the second time they have pulled the exact same bait-and-switch routine on me.Months ago, I inquired about a posted Tesla Model S that had no photos online. They called me once. I requested photos, and they claimed the vehicle wasn't on the lot yet because it was "in transit." I waited, heard nothing, and called back three days later only to find out they already sold it.I decided to give them another chance recently when a Model X caught my attention. Once again, they posted the vehicle with zero photos online and it wasn't ready for pickup. I requested pictures and finally received an email with them. I was told explicitly it would be ready for pickup in two days. Two days passed with absolutely no callback. When I followed up, of course, that vehicle was sold too--and they never even bothered to add the pictures to the online listing.They constantly post vehicles they don't actually have ready just to string you along, and their communication is non-existent. Sold me a truck and warranty. Specifically told me to buy the warranty that covered the turbos. 4 months later, the truck needs a turbo and probably did since they sold it. Understand that this is a used car lot. But after looking at several cars, the newest being a 2019, they all seem to have some sort of issue that they claimed they were going to be fixing the next couple of days. Two of the cars have been on the lot for quite a while. Bummer, pushy sales people insisting on running credit even when told we had cash, three of them went to another room to discuss what kind of deal we can make without even talking to us first. By far one of the best dealerships to go to! We got an amazing deal on our mini van, all the while greeted with awesome customer service. My Hubby and I went to 14 average to below par car dealerships. Shopping with our 3 kids was quite the challenge, but the staff at Global Auto Sales made our toddler, young boy, and infant comfortable. The other car dealerships either did not have the inventory we were interested in, didn't know how to talk to a serious customer or they would just try to up-sell to something that we simply didn't want.
