But, Abe's easy way of doing business more than makes up for it. We had scheduled an appointment and when we showed, he promptly took us out to see the car, a Chevy Volt, and let us take it for a test drive. Once we were back, we discussed our concerns and settled on a cash deal in about 5 minutes. Then about 20 minutes of paperwork later, we paid and we were done. Super easy and straightforward. We were off the lot with the car within about an hour after our arrival, including a 20 minute test drive. I'll definitely be checking with Abe on my next purchase. I came in for a routine oil change and overall the service was smooth and completed in a timely…read moremanner. Staff was courteous and everything on the surface went as expected. I also did a tire rotation for $44. It's more than pretty much any shops out there (usually around $20-35) but expected and reasonable because that's how dealerships are. Plus my car is more than a year old only so I decided to let them rotate the tires. However, I was recommended to replace my engine air filter for $130 at the end. Are you kidding me? The part itself typically costs around $20 and all it takes is pop the hood, take out the old filter, and drop in a new one. So around $30 total with labor would make more sense, but $130? That's ridiculously outrageous. Thankfully I have some basic car maintenance knowledge and have replaced this filter myself before, or else I would have fallen for it. On top of that, the filter had only been used for about 2,400 miles and was replaced just 2.5 months ago, so it was nowhere near needing replacement. So I declined the recommendation without hesitation. This felt like an unnecessary upsell rather than a genuine maintenance recommendation. I understand businesses need to make money, but suggesting a service this early -- especially at that price -- doesn't build trust. I'd encourage others to double-check any additional services being recommended. Transparency goes a long way.
