we just bought a 2026 Sonata Hybrid. The staff at CVH is so welcoming and friendly. No high pressure in fact we called them more than they called us. My husband was looking for a certain color combination and the sales manager, Kenny found one after several attempts to do dealer trades with uncooperative dealers in the valley finally was able to get the car we wanted. Luis was the one who showed us the car initially and explained Hyundai's no nonsense approach to car buying. We visited the dealership a few times and Luis always treated us with a great smile and attitude. When it was time to pick up the car Luis was out for the day but Mary helped us with our delivery. Mary was the nicest young gal and has a love for cars like no other young woman I've met. She had us test drive the car and demonstrated the ins and outs of the infotainment system and electronics of the car. She assisted us with all our paperwork which was a seamless process. I can't say enough about Mary, she was just so nice and bubbly and it's obvious she loves her job and people. The finance manager was also very friendly and efficient Kelly did offer us some extra warranties but was never pushy or anything. Unsatisfactory Appointment Experience** I scheduled a service appointment expecting my vehicle to be serviced at the scheduled time. When I arrived, I was told the maintenance would take 2.5 hours. I asked, "Even with an appointment?" and was informed that appointments only reserve a spot in line--not a guaranteed start time. There were several vehicles already waiting for service, all with scheduled appointments. This defeats the purpose of scheduling in advance and causes unnecessary delays. I hope the dealership reevaluates their appointment system to better reflect customers' expectations for timely service. This type of appointment system they have in place is why I will consider taking my car elsewhere. After speaking with 2 different auto shops, I brought my car in for service on a 1-2 month intermittent knocking sound coming from under the hood. I was told that the knocking sound was most likely due to my negligence in oil changes, a bias imposed on me, despite getting my oil changes religiously every 3k miles (with documentation). Essentially, my car falls under warranty for a new engine when it has failed bearings. Despite the predisposed prejudice from the service desk, I requested to do a test drive with the mechanic (who was actually very kind). During the test drive he mentioned hearing the noise and validating my concerns, but mentioned Hyundai will not honor the warranty until my vehicle is in a more dangerous, failure to drive situation. Because I do my preventative oil maintenance and took my car in for the noise PRIOR TO possible engine failure, it is not bad enough to warrant a replacement. When I asked, what if this poses a safety risk between now and the "constant knocking" required for the warranty to be used? The question remained unanswered. Wow. read more

Called them to see if they had a car on there lot. When I drove up it was sitting in the front waiting for me to test drive it.

I booked a service package that was for a basic oil change with an oil filter, and a few inspections. When I arrived at the service counter for my appointment, I was handed a printout that had 3 options with the minimum option costing $1822 and the "preferred" option costing $2478. My car has 44,000 miles and these recommended services are a package for when my car is at 48,000 miles. Most of these services are easily done by anyone with a little car knowledge. For $1800 they are going to replace the engine oil/filter, rotate tires, replace the cabin/engine air filter, replace the brake fluid, replace spark plugs, torque the wheel lug nut, install window washer fluid, add fuel additive, and perform a multi point inspection. This is an insane cost for performing very basic maintenance items. I cannot believe they want to charge $1822 for that. As of right now I am being charged $75 for labor for an oil change. I had an appointment for this oil change and I've been here for over 2 hours. Overall, I feel like this company charges ridiculous labor costs especially considering they take their sweet time performing the labor. I am never coming back here. I am going to buy parts from an online vendor or another dealer to install myself and keep all my receipts to not void my warranty. I do not trust this company at all and will never trust this company again. Troy and Modesto Hyundai are very disingenuous. This comment left below my post is very misleading and full of lies. I almost never leave bad reviews but I had a horrible experience earlier this week. I made an appointment at 7 am. I was there early waiting to open. The manager says the mechanics dont get there until 8. Im sorry, why do you have 7 am appointments if there is no one available. I sighed ‍, i was already here let just gets this done. Apparently appointments are only to put you above walk-in not to be seen at that time. It was going to be charged over $200 just for diagnostic. I am on a tight budget but told myself going directly to a dealership would be better so just do it. After the 3rd hour waiting I asked what was the status of my car. I had to be somewhere else at 10.30. They said they didnt know. They did offer to drop me off where I needed to go, so that part was nice but I couldnt just leave my car. So I said I'll just wait. At hour 4 I was so frustrated. I go up to the front desk and they dont even acknowledge me. He finally speaks to me and doesn't tell me what's wrong with my car but tells me the parts won't be there by Friday and its going to cost thousands. At this point I am physically shaking and trying not to start crying because I was there for over 4 hours!. I just asked to get my keys back, I just wanted to leave. The staff member then says to me "what are you going to do it yourself" wow, just wow!!. I repeated can I just get my car back. I would like to leave. Mind you im not being rude or aggressive but was trying to keep it together. He finally saw that I was about to start crying so he just said to wait outside for my car. Once inside my car, I just cried. Over 4 hours for nothing. Its shocking that there is no more bad reviews on their time management. I can't be the only one they've done this too. read more

Beware of the $200 diagnostic fee! My car needed the washer hose became detached and it cost $200 to so this 10 minute job. Not to mention that most reputable mechanics wouldn't charge anything for something so trivial. AND it was still under warranty. On Friday, 10/18/2024, my husband and I bought a new 2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy with help from our amazing Sales Associate Giovanna! No other dealership or salesperson treated me with the same respect and kindness that Giovanna did. NO other dealership took the time to bring vehicles around for me! Many left me waiting because they were busy or were talking to another customer, but left me with a computer where I could scroll through the options. Others jumped straight into the conversation of financing even though I told them from the start I wouldn't be purchasing a vehicle on the same day. Over the next two weeks that it took us to purchase a vehicle, Giovanna would send me texts just checking in with me to see if I had any questions or concerns. No other dealership ever reached out about my potential business. We went back into Hyundai 2 more times from our original visit before making the actual purchase to speak to Giovanna about pricing so we could compare to other brands. She was honest, straightforward and quick and was willing to work with us where she could along with her sales manager, whose name escapes me at the moment, but whom I was introduced to and was very friendly. The price quoted never changed and I really appreciated that because sometimes what's quoted to you is not always the same when you return for the actual purchase or so that has been my experience in the past. Giovanna is a huge part of the reason we chose to purchase with Hyundai. We went to Toyota, Kia, Mazda, Subaru, and Chevy/ Jeep/ Chrysler and could have had our choice of any vehicle, but the service at Hyundai was unmatched. I was expecting to be there all day on the day we decided to purchase our vehicle, but we were there probably all of about 2 hours from start to finish!! Hyundai had the best overall deal and included a lot of services that I have had to pay extra for in my other vehicles. One example is that their Blue Link service that allows you to control your car from your phone is free as long as you own the car! All other dealerships make you pay a monthly subscription fee for this. I also want to mention how impressed I was walking through their lounge and service center. It was way more comfortable and accommodating than my last service center! After making our purchase, Giovanna has kept in contact, checking in with my husband and I about the vehicle and making sure to answer any questions about any of the features I may have forgotten how to work or anything to do with the vehicle itself. She called me when I needed help and walked me through how to make some adjustments in my vehicle a few days after we left! I am absolutely floored by Hyundai's service and specifically by Giovanna's commitment to her customers. She is such a bright light and I'm so happy I got to work with her. Thank you Giovanna for putting my husband and I first, for being so patient and accommodating with us while we did our research and shopped around and for making me feel so comfortable during this entire experience. This review is about two issues. First, the IONIQ 5 has a life-threatening design flaw, and second, Hyundai will not honor their 100,000 mile warranty to rectify it. My wife was traveling on Interstate 5 near Highway 120 when the car suddenly reduced its maximum speed to 5 MPH. She had to perform a very dangerous multiple lane changes to make it to the narrow emergency lane when it completely died. The problem is the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) which normally has the function of charging the 12V electronics battery from the 800V propulsion battery. The ICCU will intermittently fail causing the 12V battery to be discharged. The car will not run with the 12V battery being at low voltage, and it goes for a couple of minutes in "limp mode" at 5 MPH before it completely dies. This is a nationally known issue with 1 to 10 percent of IONIQ 5's. You can find more about by googling "IONIQ 5 ICCU failures." This is the second time we have been stranded in the car due to this problem. Hyundai keeps blaming it on the 12V battery, and they want me to replace that battery again, putting in a third new battery in only 66K miles. I have also brought the car in three times for software updates as they try to address the issue. The battery is not the problem; the faulty ICCU is. They will not honor their 100K mile powertrain warranty, which the ICCU is covered by. Hyundai kept my car for six weeks as I appealed to no avail. So, don't play Russian Roulette with your family's lives. I can't imagine if this happened to me on a rainy night on a busy freeway. The car is nice with great features and a nice ride. I planned to keep it to over 150K miles. But instead, I was forced to sell it at great depreciation since I could not risk our lives and Hyundai refused to honor their warranty. I have filed complaints with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). I will never buy a Hyundai again. Rebuttal to Business Customer Service Manager response below: Safety is clearly low on the priority list for Hyundai. Top priority is to minimize service and warranty costs at the expense of our personal safety on the roadway. I am so surprised they are willing to risk our lives, to spare them the replacement of a $1500 part. The Service Manager offered to replace the ICCU if I paid for it. Even though the factory said to replace the 12V battery, the dealer Service Manager knew that putting in a third battery was not likely to solve the problem, thus his willingness to escalate as described above. This ongoing problem with ICCUs has caught the attention of Consumer Reports and they have drastically reduced the rating of the IONIQ 5 due to it. The reason the dealer service department could not duplicate the problem is because it is an intermittent problem. Our car failed twice on the roadway due to this problem. Granted the temporary intermittent failures were 20,000 miles apart; because of this it is clear that the issue would not show up in their testing. That does not negate the fact that the ICCU has failed multiple times. They know what the problem is. They simply do not want to honor the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. That brings us to a bigger issue with Hyundai. The dealer claims they do not have control over any decisions... even goodwill decisions...REALLY...they could not have made a decision themselves to replace a $1500 part...they are completely beholden to the factory across the country. Hard to believe. If this is true, that alone is a good enough reason to never buy a Hyundai again. read more

Our experience started off as usual with making the deal, told them what we were looking for and they didn't have the color but made a deal on a different color, we left said we would think about it. I called another dealership close to us and they had the color I wanted and made a better deal, of course they couldn't do the same offer so I said no problem we will go to the other dealer for the same car better price, as usual they called back shortly after and made the same offer and threw in a year of Lojack and a year of protection package and they could get the color we wanted. They even offered to deliver the car to us as we didn't have a trade in and live about an hour away. This is where s..t went south. Car is delivered on a Tuesday - all good - Try to setup Hyundai Bluelink on Friday had issues called Bluelink and they said I needed to call from a computer which I did the next day - only to be told the car after 5 days was still showing in the dealership inventory - Called Central Valley Hyundai (CVH) talked to a person there she tried to help but no luck so she transferred me to a manager - Don't remember his name but he was not helpful, in fact rather rude. Wanted me to bring the car in to fix the issue, I couldn't as we had plans then I'm told that it needs a Bluelink update (which in talking to Hyundai today Weds 7/2 they said that wasn't true) can I drop the car off Monday morning, told him I would be at work so arrangements were made to pick up the car Monday morning - 10:30 Monday and no contact - called them and they didn't really have anyone to send, so I took off early and brought the car to them (which adds about an hour to my drive home, which rude manager acted like NO Big Deal..) they gave me a car to take home, and said they would bring my car back "fixed" the next day after the update. So to wrap this negative review up it is now Weds, yes I have the car back still no Bluelink, told again by Hyundai Motor the car is still in the dealerships inventory -CVH assured me it worked Tuesday 7/1, still doesn't work and now Hyundai has a ticket and will contact me in 7 days maybe so CVH says let them figure out it basically, heck they sold the car they are done. If you buy from CVH make sure you take delivery of the car at the dealership, and all features are setup cause if they aren't good luck getting it taken care of. I will be taking my car to another Hyundai dealer for service, learned a lesson, if I could return the car and get my money back I would and give them back the car - this has been a total joke, I have wasted more of my time then I should for a brand new car. Caution when using the parts department. Called Friday about 15 minutes before closing, got a part quote on speaker phone, three of us heard them quote $53 for the part. Showed up and they tell us it was $93. Guy at the counter say he quoted us and he would of never done that and "claimed" the price we heard is below his cost. Only because of the price originally quoted (reasonable) and that it was in stock, did we wait till Monday to buy the part, but if he would of quoted us the $93 then I would of ordered it on Amazon for $38 (fulfilled by a dealership with an OEM part) and had it tomorrow on Tuesday and waited one more day. Out of morbid curiosity called we Tracy, Elk Grove and Merced dealerships parts departmenr and they quoted $68-72 for the same part. Yet ANOTHER occurrence of this from the same dealership parts department. I don't recommend using them for parts related purchases in ANY way unless you want to throw money away. I highly recommend cruising out to Tracy VW. A couple more miles, but exceptional service and constant pricing and never had any surprises when it came to paying the bill! read more

I previously have had excellent service from CVH. I couldn't get an appointment for a week and a half at a time I could go in, but arrived shortly before my appointment time. I waited TWO HOURS for 2 light bulbs to be changed. I told them I had to leave by noon to return to work. No communication with me regarding the fact that at noon they had not had a tech to work on it. I had let them know I would be in the waiting area. Obviously making an appointment doesn't benefit in any way. Obviously they don't value the customer to communicate that they won't be able to even begin the job within a 2 hour mark. Not only did I waste 2 hours- with an appointment, I have to find a business that can install these bulbs. One star because zero isn't an option. read more

I was traveling from San Diego to visit nearby. We were in our 2022 Ioniq 5 EV. On our way up we hit a plastic bucket which damaged the plastic deflecting cover below our front bumper I went in to the Central Valley Hyundai Service Center to assess the damage. They were fully scheduled for other customers on the Tuesday I went in. Troy Powers, Assist. Service Manager and one of his technicians put our car on the lift and identified the part that needed to be replaced. As we were returning to San Diego the next weekend, I dididn't think they would be able to help in time to make the repair. They were able to order the part in 2 days and scheduled me to come in on Saturday morning for the repair. I came in and the repair was completed before I could look at the new EVs at the dealership (30 mins). I can't get this service in San Diego and there seem to be no techs familiar with EVs there. I will come back for all services I can at Central Valley, and visit my Daughter and Grandkids just for the great service and staff who made this such a pleasure, and so convenient. read more
