Buyer Beware!! Read this company's many bad reviews before shopping here.This review is long overdue. I bought a used 2003 jaguar x type 2.5 l from them in November of 2022. Body looked great but that was just about it as I soon discovered. First thing was driver's seat wouldn't raise or lower so they kept the car for 2 weeks on the pretext of fixing it. Little did I know the real reason they didn't want me driving it back to Nevada that day was because 1) I would have had to fill the gas tank and seen that the tank level sensors weren't working as would only register between empty or 1/2 full, 2) the car would have overheated as radiator wasn't functional , Ac condenser bad which I would have discovered on way back to Nevada if I even made it that far- and would have returned the car that day before the check cleared. On delivery 2 weeks later after being unloaded from car shipping trailer- the battery was dead and had to be replaced. The gas tank registered empty and when I filled it- it only came up to 1/2 full. Repairs needed immediately- radiator, AC condenser, gas tank had to be removed to replace sensors, rough ride so new shocks then discovered it was the bushing ends that needed repair. New tires as tires bad and new headlights as likewise bad. I'm sure I'm forgetting something. 11k spent on repairs but final insult recently was when instrument cluster failed and I had to pay 2500 for a new cluster and to have it cloned to old one. Suddenly an air bag light was present- the shop discovered a piece of paper in the old cluster when they pulled it that was covering the air bag warning light explaining why I suddenly had an air bag light showing with the new cluster. Don't know if El Vista did that or they bought the car at auction that way but I do know they knew all the other mentioned things were bad as had the car 2 weeks going over everything so were aware of all the issues. Also they never fixed the seat which they used as a reason to prevent me driving the car home that day.. Very sketchy auto sales. Don't buy from them. I'm now in process of getting air bag issue fixed after already putting in $13, 500 into car for repairs to date and that was not counting the initial $6,995 cost to purchase car. First, I have to state that I have worked in dealerships on the new and used car sides for years in my younger life and know what negotiations involve. My husband saw a vehicle for me that would be a fun vehicle to have. He came and got me and took me to El Vista. I looked at it, we test drove it, and discussed my thoughts privately. I liked it but the price was high for the year and mileage. We decide to go in to start discussing price. When I started to speak about where I wanted to be on price and what we found on Kelley Blue book, they printed out the Kelley which matched my offered price. The salesman sat there and my husband said well thats our offer. He said they had to call the owner and left. He came back and said the manager said no. No counter offer, no negotiation. We.got up and walked outside where my husband approached Adam the manager. They claimed because of the aftermarket tires and rims they couldnt sell for less. Our price was $2k less than the ask....seriously?! We got home and my husband called Adam and said you guys didnt even try to negotiate what is your counter offer....he said he had to call the owner. What good is a manager that cant negotiate? He called us back and said $500 off. $500??? They made me feel like they just didnt want to deal with a woman. Because I was the one setting the price. These guys clearly dont want to sell this vehicle. I would not recommend anyone who is looking to negotiate because they will milk anyone without knowledge for the moths in your pockets. read more

I bought a car recently from this dealership a 2010 Buick enclave. I drove the car around town for a few days and the check engine light came on. The DVD player that was advertised didn't work and one of the tires needed to be fixed it wouldn't hold air. I understand it's an older car but they obviously cleared the check engine light and weren't honest. I would not recommend buying any vehicles from here unless it came with a warranty. read more

The people that work here a SCAM artist!!! They post a car say there was no accidents and come to find out the car had 3 major accidents. They didn't give us the car fax till the end and when we we're signing papers the finance guy was talking to us distracting us and not even explaining the papers we signed. When he showed us the car fax he cover the part that said severe damage with his arm. He even got us to sign a paper saying we can't take them to court but we didn't read it because he didn't explain it to us. And we have bought a lot of cars before and never had anyone give me papers to sign like that. We tried to talk to a lawyer but these people are smart and professional scammers!!! Luis was great with us, no pressure, and while they use Auto Check instead of Carfax, we are overall very satisfied with the whole process. We waited for a clean bill of health from a trusted mechanic before writing this review so we could say with more confidence what the outcome was. We combed the Bay Area for the Subaru Outbacks in the right age and price range, and we're willing to drive almost 65 miles each way for the one on their lot IF it drove right, and met all the markers. If not, we were fully prepared to press on to Roseville and Auburn, but as it happened it met the criteria. Car buying is never a joyful experience, and most often pretty stressful, but Luis talked us through the paperwork with kindness and compassion. It was nice since the tank was flashing empty that they kicked in a voucher for some gas (although a full tank would have been even nicer, but they did meet my honey at a slightly lower final price point so definitely *not* a huge complaint) Here's hoping we won't need to make our way to Modesto for another car for a VERY long time, but there were NO sleazy tactics, no shock quotes, and no non-standard hidden fees. (AVOID SUBARU/TOYOTA OF OAKLAND, if you need more info, I wrote a review of them too, and we suggest running far far away from them!!) read more

Funny. These guys definitely play games. They have a "sister location" where they try and play off each other. Went to Walnut Creek to see a vehicle that was magically at another location that had "nothing to do with them" yet they reply as the same company on a website. When I wasted the time to check their "sister location" in Modesto, it wasn't even there because it was still in Walnut Creek..... well I played nice since I wanted the car and thought (which I'll take blame for, when you are dealing with liars it's hard to understand their sales pitch when none of them speak with each other to get the lies straight) we came to a 9000ish range. Had my business partner check it out since I didn't want to drive again just in case it wasn't there, then when he wanted to ask the price, the "new guy salesmen Ralph" acted surprised and said they "bought all the vehicles from the other company they gave nothing to do with so the price is asking". He then asked if I had an offer, so I said yea, $9000, in which he said he'd check .... Which one is it? Was that the final or what was happening . I get it though. They make the money off people who get loans. I feel bad for anyone who has to do that at a scumbag lot like this because their job isn't to help you, it's to push units and make money. Why I'd rather buy private. Here's to me never going there ever again, especially since they could've just told the truth and then I could've walked away knowing the vehicle was just out of the budget for a delivery vehicle we were hoping to get. Here's to you Ralph on your first day. Maybe you should check and make sure nobody looked you up and that you've worked there forever. I'd never shop here in hopes of getting something they honestly knew about. Good vehicle though, but notes on the 2008 Chrysler mini van. I own and run a shop. It needs brakes and definitely had some sort of heat issue that made it overheat. If you aren't a mechanic, it will need one thing up front (brakes) and possibly need soMething in the cooling system checked out. Other then that those are solid vans read more

I looked at a car and got the VIN number. The dealership did not tell me that there were two outstanding safety recalls on the car. One that is a faulty airbag that can kill people when deployed and the other is one that can cause the car to spontaneously catch fire. I told them those recalls needed to be done. I contacted the dealership several times and asked if it had been done. I didn't receive a response after several responses and then I did. I received the response that the recall work was done (photo attached). I went down there to see the car. I could tell the car hadn't been moved since I last saw the car and asked for verification the car had the recall work done. They backtracked and the work had not been done. I left and told them to tell me when the work was done and I would come back then. They called about a week later and let me know that the work was done. I told them I would test drive the car since it was safe now. I was told, "We drive it all the time and it's been safe." Tell that to the mother of the 16 year-old that died from the airbag going off. It gets worse. I test drove the car; a 335i BMW hardtop convertible, one owner, 55,000 miles approximately. The AC was not cold. I asked about it and several other things that were broken. They told me they would have their mechanic on-site look at it and check it. I was called and told that everything had been fixed and that they were waiting for the coolant they ordered to put in the AC because it was just low. He said the AC system had been checked for leaks with a chemical put into it. On Saturday, I got a call that the car was completed. I said I would come in to buy the car and needed to know the total amount to get a cashiers check and I wanted the contract to state the AC system had been checked for leaks before the coolant was put in. He refused. Absolutely refused. At this point, I asked to speak to a manager. He said that no manager was available. He said no manager was available until Monday. I told him I thought he was lying again as he did about the recall being done. He said he wasn't there job to make sure it was mechanically decent and I could take it to my own mechanic and pay out of my own pocket to have it thoroughly inspected at my own cost. I said I would and I did. What the mechanic found in that car included rat nests, a bent rim, engine tuning problems likely related to rats chewing threw wires, the AC was leaking so much coolant that it already wasn't as cold as it should be and the engine light and been recently reset. I have been lied to and they tried to sell me a car that mechanically should be salvaged. I have the text messages and paperwork to prove it. But most importantly, this dealership was willing to put me in a car that could kill me and others. read more

Very disappointed with this dealership. They sold me a 2011 BMW after 2 days the car started smoking out of the engine. They told me to bring it to their shop. After 5 trips the problem was not fix. I have to spent lots of money to fix oil leak which the dealer claimed they don't know. Their shop said they fixed the gasket but when I brought the car to a repair shop in Tracy the mechanic said the problem is the gasket. I felt i was trick by the dealer. They fill out paper work incorrect, it took a month for them to get a loan on the truck that my husband wanted. My husband came with his own loan, but they didn't want to give him the bill of sale so our bank could give them the check. They were acting very shady and when we said that we didn't want the truck since there was no loan all of a sudden we had a loan. Their sales people were very rude and didn't want to give us information about which bank got us the loan. All they cared about was getting paid, that's what they said to us. Ralph the salesperson was good, BUT how can it pass the SAFETY INSPECTION when all 4 tires are BALD and the only way we found out was it rained last night and we HYDROPLANED plus the tires were all different name brands, one was FIRESTONE another KELLY another one GOODYEAR and finally TOYO Tires. Not only did they not tell me I needed insurance when I got my purchase contract to take to my CU, but when I did pay for full coverage, they still didn't let me take the vehicle off the lot. I gave them a $20000 check from my CU stating that they now own the car right.... I paid $25000 total to these idiots and I still don't have the car. The reps at El Vista were great to deal with. They made the process easy and have good cars at fair prices. Jose is very good on the finance end and Ralph and Luis were great at follow up and communication. I asked to have something fixed right after I bought the car and they fixed it even though when you buy a used car you buy it "as is" in their agreement. Good guys like this deserve your business. I definitely recommend them. The only comment I have is that they should know the cars they sell a bit better than just what one can read on the car fax sheet. That said their mechanic is good and seems to know about all kinds of cars. My other criticism is they need to take the mask wearing more seriously. We are in a pandemic and it's important to prevent the spread of this virus. The mechanic was the only one who was wearing a mask the whole time while I had to ask the other sales reps to wear a mask. If they can take this more seriously I would have given them 5 stars. read more
