Andrea C.

a great spot to go to especially because it is so close to the burbank airport and the food is great

This place is an absolute gem! It's spacious, spotless, and the staff is always so friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The food is simply exquisite. I've honestly wanted to keep this place a secret because I love it so much , but they deserve a shout-out because this restaurant is truly amazing. My go-to dishes are the lamb chops and the chicken breast kabob, but honestly, everything on the menu is delicious. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into every dish. I also love that it's an authentic mom-and-pop shop with a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to keep coming back. If you're looking for incredible food and outstanding service, this place is a must-try. You won't be disappointed!

Beef Shish Kabob AL

Wish we had a 3.5 star option. Friendly staff and pretty quick food. You have to order at the counter and then your food will come to your table. For the prices that's ok..portions are small but everything is bland. Meat is great well seasoned maybe even over seasoned and do not know why it would be spicy but it is. Will not be returning.

Found this place on yelp today and must say what a hidden GEM it is. Family ran business with the absolute best tasting kabob I've had in the local community. Lamb chops definite must! Shish kabob was amazing too. High quality charcoal cooked food like at home. My new go to spot. Get the 32 plate. You won't regret it.

Clean place and great food with great service. Couldn't have asked for anything else.

First time at this place and I'm adding it to my favorite list of restaurants, the food sooo delicious, the service was great, very friendly owner, and very clean and great ambiance.

Chicken breast kabob, addl chicken lule with Greek salad and yogurt / cucumber

I just had the most amazing chicken breast kabob and chicken lule I have ever had. Super tasty, well seasoned and the best charcoal taste. I'll be back here asap

This place is bomb. I have been here 4 times and always get the same thing (chicken kabob with no rice, all Greek salad with hummus and yogurt). Their chicken get marinated for 24 hours and is delicious. Food comes out fast and staff are friendlym I just have 2 recommendations for them: 1. The olives in the Greek salad from today's visit, all had pit in there. Almost broke my tooth. I recommend removing them or letting the customers know. 2. The big wall across from the mirror side is too bland. A few picture frames would make the interior pop/nicer. I will definitely go back here again when I have clients in the area.

Although Raffi's in Glendale is usually my go-to spot, I met a friend here for lunch and it was a nice change of scenery. Not only did I love the idea of having an outdoor patio almost to ourselves, but the inside is really cute with its retro mint accents, old school chairs, and wooden tabletops. I also loved looking at the Old World Hollywood black & white photos up on the walls. The only conundrum is finding a seat inside since this place fills up quickly during the lunch rush hours. Also, some folks just park it so they can work on their laptops while sipping on coffee -- not that I can blame 'em. Their Mediterranean, Lebanese-inspired cuisine, and fusion-inspired grill fare is delicious and the portion sizes are ample. Juicy tomatoes and slightly charred zucchini and summer squash sat vibrantly on my plate. Their savory chicken breast kabobs are made with authentic spices, but more on the lean, dry side. So I prefer their falafels, dolmas, and grilled veggies on my plate. SOTTA touts their Tomato Soup as "the best in town". Not sure I'd agree. My bowl was piping hot, but a bit on the bland side. I'd personally opt for another salad if given a choice: Their babaganoush is creamy, Greek salad is crisp, while the Shirazi Salad and Quinoa Tabbouleh won't disappoint. I'll have to try the Sautéed Mushrooms next time because the red wine, teriyaki, and garlic marinade piqued my interest. As for their drink menu, the coffee is excellent. Or try a 20 oz. matcha that's infused with passion fruit or guava. It's worth the splurge. Although Skaf's in Highland Park is still my fave Lebanese restaurant, I'll still make my way over to SOTTA next time on this side of the hill. It's still continents closer than the Adriatic Sea.

I ordered chicken breast, and the portions were surprisingly inconsistent. One piece was a reasonable size, while the other was significantly smaller and did not feel like a proper portion. The biggest disappointment was the Caesar salad with salmon. It came with only two very small pieces of salmon--approximately 1.5 ounces total. Honestly, even my cat would have been disappointed with that portion! It genuinely looked like they were down to their last small piece of salmon and divided it between the salad. As someone who is Persian and grew up eating this type of food regularly, I'm very familiar with the flavors, quality, and portions I would expect. Unfortunately, the food this time was well below average, both in taste and value. I would rate the taste about 2/10. It's especially disappointing because I previously enjoyed ordering from Sorta and appreciated having a convenient neighborhood option so close to home. But after two disappointing experiences in a row, I can't justify the price for the portions and quality I received. Sadly, I don't see myself returning. It's very sad that u spend 77$ for lunch for two and not be satisfied

We ordered out own plates. One 1/4 white chicken, chicken tarna, and chicken kabob plate. Each plate includes a side (we got the cucumber salad), rice, hummus, and pita bread. We added a small side of tabbouleh. All of that totaled to around $58, which was not bad at all. We even had enough to take leftovers home. Everything is delicious and tasty. My favorite thing here is the garlic sauce! It is to die for. I am going to have to come back and try their whole chickens. I wish the person calling out orders would call out the ENTIRE order when it's complete, rather than calling the items out individually as they are ready. I was standing by the counter, and she told me to come back when she calls me it is ready. This Zankou location is very big with indoor and outdoor seating. I KNEW that this spot was going to be fantastic, simply based on the fact that they offer Syrian cuisine. I went during non-peak hours and, to my surprise, I was the only customer there at the time. I was greeted by an older gentleman who took my order and made everything on the spot. I had ordered a beef shawarma wrap, falafel, and muhammara. While waiting for my order, I sat in the dining room and took in the whimsical decor. There were quite a few handwritten signs with quotes that I enjoyed reading and gave me a good laugh. The dining room itself is spacious and well lit. Once my order was ready to go, I grabbed it from the ordering counter and dug right in. The falafel was fried to a perfect crisp and I LOVED that they were (obviously) Syrian style; beige on the inside (no parsley or greens are included in the mix). The tahini sauce on the side complimented the falafel perfectly! I did prefer the muhammara to be slightly more peppery and seasoned, but overall it was okay. I enjoyed the pita bread that it came with. And of course, the main star of the show was the beef shawarma roll. That was well balanced between beef, veggies, and bread. The beef itself was seasoned well and I really enjoyed the parsley/onion in it. The pickled turnips on the side were fantastic! I LOVE anything pickled on the side of shawarma; it's an essential for me! Overall, I had a great experience at Aleppo grill! If you're looking for a solid spot, definitely stop by and give it a try!

Every single dish was packed with flavor. The beef and chicken shawarma were delicious, and the luleh and chicken kabobs were so tender and juicy. All of the sides and appetizers hit the spot! The hummus and baba ganoush were great, and they serve the best falafel I've ever had (super crispy on the outside, and not dry at all). I also tried grape leaves for the first time today and I'm actually addicted... On top of the phenomenal food, the owner, Silva, was such a sweetheart and kept checking in on us to make sure we were having a great experience. This is easily one of the best spots around. Highly recommend!
