10/10! Finally, I have had an incredible meal in Dallas. Been traveling for a work trip and pretty disappointed by the food I've had so far. This restaurant is farm to table with local fresh ingredients, every dish is made with care. We had the tamale 3 ways, grilled artichoke, grilled ribeye, portobello mushrooms, cornbread and s'more dessert cake. Every single dish was delicious! The tamale three ways were most and flavorful and a taste into different cultures and styles. Grilled artichoke was a hit with the squeeze of lime and garlic butter compound. Steak was cooked perfectly and melt in your mouth! Portobello mushrooms had an incredible spicy and garlicky chimichurri. To my surprise the cornbread and the s'mores cake were the stars of the show. Cornbread was moist and spicy. The cake OMG, this is something I would never have thought to order but we decided to give it a try and took it to go to our hotel room. This cake is beyond! The toasted s'more on the side made this Smokey, flavorful, moist and tasted literally like you were sitting by a campfire eating s'mores. I was coming home late for a meeting and there was a lot of traffic so I decided to stop for dinner. The sign at the Rustic caught caught my eye off the highway. The vibe of the restaurant is indeed rustic, the inside of the restaurant is a barn it appears. They used pallets for accent walls, low lighting, large bar. It was a nice evening so I sat outside and enjoyed a beer, had some tortilla soup and had The Rustic Burger. The tortilla soup had a really great flavor and nice chunks of chicken. The Rustic Burger was served with a poblano, brisket and a spicy little pepper on top. I had them with fries and really enjoyed everything. They had a canopy over the large picnic style tables and heaters throughout. They had several fire pits around and I cozied up to one and read while I finished my beer. Definitely a place to come back with friends, patio was nice, they have music Thursday through the weekend, would be great to come back for that as well. read more

The food was good. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture. I like the atmosphere, there was a live country band. The crowd was a little casual. The service was great. They had some nice signature cocktails. It was hard to have a conversation with my guests because it was very loud. I hate the chairs, they are uncomfortable for someone with a wider backside. I also hated that my hair and clothe smelled like smoke even though this wasn't a bbq joint. Not sure where that was from. But I will be back. read more

I saw this place on social media and decided to give it a try. It is very nice and big inside with a large dining area outside also. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were really nice and I enjoyed the drink I had. I can't recall the name of the drink, but it a was a grapefruit based cocktail. I went during brunch hours and during this time they only offer a limited menu. I decided to try the brunch sampler they have. It's comes with a bunch of different items for a decent prize. There were some things I liked on it and some that I definitely didn't enjoy. My biggest gripe with this meal was temperature several items were cold and it's clear that alot of the items were made earlier in the day and just got plated when ordered. I would be willing this place another try but probably just for drinks. The food is a miss for me. read more

Arrived Friday evening (5/9/25) on time with a party of 9 and seated soon afterwards. Everything from this point forward was terrible. After 30 minutes, not even water had arrived. I had to go find a manager to get a server over to the table. That took another 10 minutes. Eventually, a young lady shows up and takes drink orders. Another 20 goes by and I have to go to the bar and ask about the drink order. It is finally brought to the table. It goes down hill from here. Waited another 30 minutes to place dinner order. Waited 45 minutes and had to go find a manager. Another waiter shows up at the table (Blake) and begins to take our orders again! It seems our first order was cancelled in the kitchen????? 20 minutes later two entrees show up. Wait another 30 minutes with nothing! Finally after another 45 minutes the remaining 7 entrees arrive. In between this time no on ever came to check if we needed additional drinks. The food was marginal at best. Associate ordered a steak it was almost cold in the center... Horrible experience. Have been here several times in the past and it was fine. Not sure if new management has taken over what the deal is but this was completely unacceptable. read more

The rustic is a great go to spot for out of town guests. Very Texas vibe, large menu to satisfy everyone, and they always seem to have live music. I was disappointed by the brunch though. Service was very slow and I felt like since we were sitting outside the waiter might have actually forgotten about us. We had to flag him down every time we needed something which was annoying. We ordered the mimosas and the champagne tasted like it had gone bad, it was not drinkable! Also, the yogurt parfait from the brunch set menu was missing. Solid dinner spot! Came with a friend for a Thursday night dinner and had a nice time. Got here around 7:30 PM and there was an hour wait for outdoor seating, but plenty of space inside. Tables were distanced out. Some people were good about masking while walking around the restaurant but others were not. Was super hungry and ordered a bunch of food. We shared the Cactus Fries, which were fine, but a little too oily for me. The Rustic Harvest Bowl was delicious! Kale, sweet potatoes, protein (there was a TON of chicken in this bowl), all the things you need. Plus it came with this delicious jalapeno spoon bread that I definitely didn't need, but enjoyed every bite of. Also had the Spicy Tamale with Brisket. I was expecting a more traditional tamale and thought there was too much sauce, but the tamale had nice flavor and was tasty. Service was friendly, but a bit slow and at times disorganized. We got our mains way before the Cactus Fries. We also got our mains before our utensils...and then there was a bit of a wait for said utensils. But the food was good and it's a fun casual spot. This place was really poppin on a Saturday night! 5 stars for the vibes and ambiance. Super cute place with a huge back patio, heat lamps, and fire pits. Loved the indoor/outdoor concept of the stage too! However, the food was super basic to me. I got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and it was not hot-- temperature wise or heat wise. To add insult to injury, getting the sandwich and shoestring fries instead of chips came out to be $25 with tip. What a fantastic find! I went during happy hour so that I could enjoy the specials there. The ranch water was excellent, and their Texas pimento dip and chips were out of this world. The real winner here was the Texas Cheesesteak. OMG! It completely blew my mind. It was like a party in my mouth. The rustic has a great atmosphere - hipster meets after work. They have a big outdoor area complete with a stage for live music and fire pits. There is ample seating at the bar and many long and personal tables in the dining area. Staff at the bar was friendly and attentive. They have a large beer menu and many interesting food options. We got a bunch of apps. Grilled artichoke was soft and tastes like a wood oven, dip duo was cheesy. The pimento cheese was a favorite and the cheese fondue had a nice broiled crust. Wild boar chili had a nice flavor but was very spicy. Mac and cheese also had a good deal of heat, wouldn't order for children. The cheese burger was also a bit spicy. Hahaha apparently we are true northerners. We got a s'mores dessert that was HUGE and tasted pretty close to a s'mores except that it was cold. The only really off putting thing was the condition behind the bar. The girls were working in 1/2" of water with leaking ice bins and lack of a real sink to dump leftover liquid in (they were reduced to throwing liquid from used glasses into bins). read more

It's a party of 25 why are we not sitting together? Why are we moving picnic tables and heaters around to accommodate our party, not the staff at all. No server ever approached us and asked what we wanted to drink, not even water. We waited for over 30 mins, until I had enough and left. We all left, explain your trashy service? Honestly, we had the worst experience here. We had a surprise birthday dinner for a friend, made reservations for 7pm, and had to wait AN HOUR to be seated. When we were seated, they sat a party of 20 at a table for 10 for half of us to stand around waiting on the table next to us to leave. While we were standing there waiting, they ordered another round of drinks. Which, this place is more like a bar setting so that made sense, but the restaurant should've had a table for 20 open when we showed up like we'd reserved. The server eventually asked the table of ladies to move to a table out on the patio. While they were making the move, one of the ladies having to move complained about it to the server bringing them their drinks and the server said "well it sucks to suck" when she told them we had reservations so they had to move. He was talking about us. Within very clear ear shot. I was basically face to face with him. I thought for a second he was going to wait on us but he didn't. Thank god. We were all finally sat and settled by about 8:10. An hour and 10 minutes after our reservation. It took about another 30 minutes to even be greeted and our order taken. I asked for a water and ordered my food. I got the onion rings which weren't good in my opinion. My wife ordered the burger medium well and they brought medium rare. When I brought it to the servers attention she reluctantly and seemingly annoyed asked if we wanted her to fix it. Yes..... we do. It's raw in the middle. I never got my water. I ordered the hot chicken and cheese and it was delicious. The side of shells and cheese was also delicious. It was national margarita day so the margaritas were $5 but they were charging $15 for them. Someone sat next to me realized it and had the server fix it, and I'm sure a ton of people that are drinking didn't even check their bill or notice. I'm sure that was intentional. I know this review is long winded but our hotel experience was 3 hours of hell. I will give them another chance on a weekday, possibly. But man this was bad. If you check my other reviews, I mostly leave positive ones. But I do not recommend you come here unless you want to sit at the bar and get drunk on expensive drinks. read more

Came with some friends to The Rustic in a Thursday night. They have a could stage and live music Wednesday-Sunday. There is picnic table seating outside in front of the stage. Theres also indoor (more comfortable) seating available, but who wants to sit inside when it's so nice out. Also if you choose to sit inside you cant see the stage very well. They seemed slightly understaffed, and we waited quite a while to even get water or any other drinks. Food took longer than normal to arrive but it was tasty. Serving staff was friendly but again, they seemed a little overwhelmed. I'll still be going back, I'll just know what to expect and not expect when I do. The mimosa carafes were great too, I just wish they were larger for better sharing. Our waitress was great & took good care of our table of 11. It was a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy the live music. Unfortunately, the music was sooo loud. It was hard to hear anyone at our table, so it was hard to have or enjoy conversation. Got the chipotle salmon burger ($17) and comes with chips. Maybe I was full from other stuff I ate earlier, but it wasn't what I expected. You could definitely taste the salmon component, but I wished I ordered a regular burger. Got one of the old fashioned - they have 3 varieties made with rye, whiskey, bourbon ($13). I don't typically see that on a cocktail menu. Service was pretty meh. Had to ask for water. Yes it was busy ish, but not terrible. Overall, I thought the attempt at food was good.
