Excellent service and great food. The beer selection was very good. Will definitely stop by the next time I'm in town.

We tried The Roasthouse Pub for the first time during Frederick to Farm, and we were very impressed. We weren't expecting much from its location, but the interior and menu look like the restaurants downtown that we tend to frequent. The beer selection was great, and the menu had a lot of interesting options. We both ordered from the Frederick to Farm menu (my fiancé had a buffalo burger and ratatouille, and I had a buffalo filet mignon). My fiancé said it was the best burger he's ever had. Service was great and we will definitely be back to try their regular menu soon. read more

It's a really nice place to meet friends and grab a beer or 20. Surprisingly the food is even great.

Awesome! Ban minh was fantastic. Even the side salad was interesting. My wife liked her steak salad, too. There's a serious chef in the kitchen. Twenty beers on tap, and that was a wee bit of a problem. I was hoping for an English lager or even a high-end domestic such as Sam Adams. All the beers listed were hoity-toity "craft", some with high alcohol content. Don't park in front of the building, front in, unless you like backing into Urbana Pike traffic. Plenty of parking on the sides and rear, which makes for a safer return to the Pike. read more

My fiance and I have become official regulars here. It's such a hole-in-the-wall place with a great low-key atmosphere, superb food, and an awesome beer selection. Our favorite thing to get is the crab dip with goat cheese, seriously the best either of us has ever had! Service is great, bartenders/servers are friendly and very knowledgeable about variety of beers. Hope they add a little more variety to their food menu's as we've tried everything on there, but the food is really good as are the portions for the money. Love this place! read more

We rolled in with a group of 12 guys (bachelor party) and asked for a beer tasting at 4pm. The servers worked their magic and took care of us so well! Thank you Roast house pub I Highly recommend!! read more

The Roasthouse Pub boasts modern roasted pub food and a menu of 20 artisanal beers. The beer went down well with The Husband. The wine list is pretty limited, but at least they offer it. Visit number one we ordered potato skins as an appetizer, I had the chicken pot pie with a side of Brussels sprouts and The Husband had the pulled pork sandwich with roast potatoes. The pie was nice, and for once the sauce tasted fresh made rather than from a can of Campbells canned chicken soup. The brussels, a personal favourite but very rarely found on an American menu, were outstanding! The Husband said his sandwich was good and I would love to comment on the potato skins appetizer but it never arrived. Our second visit was again on a weeknight, but this time the restaurant didn't seem busy at all, much quieter than before. We ordered the potato skins again, and I chose a prime rib French dip sandwich and The Husband opted for their beef pot roast sandwich. Service was very quick and we were soon presented with our sandwiches..... before our appetizer.... hmm. What is it with the potato skins? If they are not available let us know rather than looking vague when we ask you why you have bought the main course while we are still waiting for the appetizer? The French dip with onions was fabulous, fresh beef with flash fried onions, sans the melted glob of fake plastic cheese that so often spoils this sandwich. The gravy dip was spicy and tasty and perfect for dipping the roast potatoes in. The pot roast sandwich bore no resemblance to pot roast, and comprised lettuce, tomato, fake plastic cheese and some dried up sliced beef with a mayo based sauce squirted on it, a total waste of calories. A word of advice - spend the extra $2 and get the French dip sandwich instead. A quick word on desserts. We don't usually bother with them as we prefer the savoury rather than sweet part of the menu, but after missing out on our appetizer, twice, we gave the chocolate crème brulee a whirl. It was denser than I would have expected, but was very good and was perfectly complemented by vanilla ice cream. Yes we will probably go back again, if only for the devil in us to see if they can manage to go 3/3 on forgetting the potato skins. read more

My husband and I hadn't been here in a few years because the last few times we went were bad experiences. However, we decided to try it again tonight. Like night and day. I asked our waitress if they were under new ownership and they were, it was her aunt. Her aunt has done fantastic job of improving the menu to a much higher standard. Great food, beer and ambiance if you're looking for a fun and casual experience. And gluten free options for food and beer. Bravo. We'll be back for sure. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE their roasted boar. And their beer selection is amazing. I will DEFINITELY be back!

Love this place! Definitely not what you expect when you pull into the parking lot! When you walk in looks liek a local pub/watering hole. When you look at the menu, the selection though small is awesome! my recommendation is to come on the weekends and try the Prime rib! SOOO good! Service is always great, and for you beer drinkers they have a large selection of craft beers on tap! Give this place a try! read more

Good food, a great beer selection with fast and friendly service. Kicking myself for not trying this place until just recently.

Just ate the best burger I've ever had. Definitely recommend it - the Roasthouse Burger! The beer selection is fantastic and even the house salad I chose as a side was great! Only complaint is that it's not closer to home! Will definitely make the trip back and it'll be soon! read more

Great staff. Good selection of beers... even gluten free and ciders. Got the burger of the day and it was really good... obviously a fresh burger. Brother got the bangers and mash... also a hit. Will be back! read more

Been here twice now, and have been disappointed each time. First, the beer selection is quite nice. Has an assortment of 20 quality brews, all worth experimenting with, although the selection is a bit idiosyncratic (too many heavy beers in summer; now, in September, there are three pumpkin beers and no Oktoberfests?) First meal was in summer. Large table next to me was very vocal in their disappointment with the food. Not a good sign, but I kept an open mind. GOOD: The mac and cheese. Really excellent, with a good seared crust from (presumably) an iron skillet. MEDIOCRE: The brussel sprouts were undercooked, underseasoned, but not offensive. The crab-stuffed mushrooms. Although they didn't taste frozen to me (as another Yelper noted), they were somewhat bland and seated among a smattering of unappetizing, browning greens (mache?). AWFUL: The roast pork. Really? Really? Is this what the place is named after? "Roast"house pub, and they couldn't get a roast right? I got a haphazard pile of room-temperature, DRY shredded meat, with a congealed, nearly COLD gravy on top (tasted little better than Heinz canned gravy). Gross. Second meal was this week. Dinner companion and I were told to seat ourselves, then ignored for over 10 minutes. After another couple was seated, presented with menus, and even received a beer sampling in under 3 minutes, we were getting up to leave when finally, a server showed up with menus. (It might have also helped that my companion, having lost all patience, raised his voice rather angrily above the racket.) Server was nice, apologized profusely, but still, not a good start. Meal was disappointing. I just ordered the beet salad and a mac and cheese side. The mac was reliably good, the beet salad was shockingly bad. Very little beet, yet a large amount of sliced avocado, which was brown, floppy, bland, and gross. How long ago was it sliced? At least a little lemon juice to preserve color and add a little flavor, please! Dressing was far too vinegary with no depth of flavor, and had what looked like artificial bacon bits at the bottom. Service extremely confused. We received the hot app before the salad; runner brought the app along with another dish we hadn't ordered -- we refused it, thinking it to be another table's order, but I guess there was confusion back there, or the runner thought to save time by bringing two tables' incomplete orders in one trip (the place isn't THAT big, jeez). Either way, why did I have to wait longer for a freakin' salad that apparently wasn't freshly-made anyway? Long story short, this place aims way higher than it can manage. Food needs a LOT of improvement (can wholeheartedly recommend the mac and cheese, though), service needs polishing. It desperately needs some form of *experienced* floor management and kitchen quality control. It doesn't look like anyone working there was much older than 25, and nothing seemed very disciplined. For a place that (inexplicably, in my view) seems to see a lot of business, some measure of organization would help immeasurably. May visit from time to time for an after-work beer. For food, will definitely look elsewhere. read more

One of the best low key spots in town. A large selection of craft beers, samplers, and delicious food. The place is smaller so get there early, but the limited seating makes this place more personal and almost selective. Wait staff and bartenders are courteous and knowledgeable. Don't think 5 star restaurant, think more of a hip beer aficionado bar with intelligently crafted eats from a master of the culinary arts instead of traditional bar food. Good food and good beer, what more can one ask for. read more

The food at this restaurant is too creative for its own good. You can order a burger, but no fries. If you want a side salad, they toss fruits/berries in it, to clarify, they "couldn't" give me a dumbed down berryless side salad. There's an odor that I can't describe and the service was awful. If you like simple food, do not go! It's not a traditional pub with pub style food. If you like beer more then food, this place may be for you, but be prepared to pay. read more

Fantastic service every time! Great food, great beer selection, top shelf liquor choices. Friendly and attentive staff. Treat yourself and pay them a visit, soon. read more

Foodtruck at Flying Dog. $12 for a burger that doesn't even come with even fries or chips? How effing pretentious. My mistake, I guess, for assuming. For a non-ridiculous price, the burger would probably warrant 4-5 stars. But this $12 solo burger didn't perform certain adult services on me so it gets two. read more

Massive craft beer selections on tap. I believe it was 21 varieties to be exact. The beer was decent. The food wasn't too bad either. My friend and I both got the burger, cooked medium, just as we requested. The only 2 things that turned me off about this place was the prices ($50 for 2 burgers with one side each, 2 pints, and 1 shot of whiskey -- too much in my opinion) AND the lack of attentiveness from the staff. We sat right at the bar so there's no excuse for taking 5 minutes before you ask us for drinks and if we want to see menus. Then avoiding us after we've made it clear that we've decided what we want and are waiting for you to follow up with us for our orders. Better customer service would be highly recommend but I have experienced worse. read more

Great little venue if you are in the Frederick area near the mall. I've visited several times and always had great service. One time I was there, there seemed to be problems with the kitchen, but the beer has always been good, with a nice selection. read more

I came here to meet a friend for dinner around 5:30 pm. I snagged the last parking spot in the lot- my friend had to park next door at another establishment. When we walked inside, the pub was very busy and we seated ourselves at one of the last available tables. We were greeted at our table after a few minutes by a kind waiter. He allowed us to sample a few beers in order to decide which beer we wanted to order a full beer of. We loved the draft list on the flat screens around the restaurant and liked that you could find an updated list on the restaurant website as well. After drinking only a little bit of my beer, I accidentally spilled it all over the floor. The employees were very kind and attentive in helping to clean it up. Our waiter even brought me a new beer, free of charge. Now for the food- I ordered the wings and brussels sprouts and my friend ordered the ham brisket, which was highly recommended by the waiter. All dishes were excellent, especially the brisket and brussels. Our dishes were cleared promptly throughout the meal and our waiter did a great job of checking in just often enough. They had a fantastic craft beer selection, great service/atmosphere, and awesome food. As the cherry on top, I lost my wallet later in the evening and called in to double check that I did not leave it at the restaurant. Our waiter was the one who answered, and he offered to go out to the parking lot to search for my wallet. A stand up guy! read more

Brie sandwich-not much taste. Pork chop great. No hot tea or chocolate.

Totally under-whelmed. Parking is tight. Skipped a few times because there is NO parking. Found a spot tonight. Really good beer options. Really noisy and VERY understaffed. Both servers were constantly moving. But with a dozen tables and another dozen stools, service was slow. Entrees were good. Sides were cold and undercooked. Better options nearby read more

Great food! Good selection of items. The only issue was the wait time during lunch hour. There were very few patrons in the restaurant but it seemed to take awhile to receive my food read more

Food is awesome. You can tell the meat is not processed, it is pulled right from the bone (guess thats why its a roasthouse). Unbelievable beer selection, every couple days I go in there and at least 10of the 20 taps have changed. Understandably this is a new concept for Frederick, as they do not brew their own beer but prices and portions are exactly what I thought they should be. Beer menu has how many ounces, ABV, and price before you order. I highly recommended, if you like craft beer and good food! read more

Fish and jerk chicken tacos always good. Best beer selection in Frederick hands down. Brussel sprouts with bacon and baked fries awesome. Burgers good too read more

I would give this place 5 stars, because it's awesome, but they close early for a bar/restaurant on the weeknights and weekends for that matter. Also a lot of Smokers do hang out at the front door sometimes which is kinda lame. TONS of great craft beers from around the US keep everyone super happy and they rotate them often. High Quality food including the AMAZING chicken tacos and truly great gourmet burgers. Bartenders are all super chill as well. A great spot! read more

Won't be coming back. Food came out cold, then tasted like they microwaved it. Ordered a pumpkin dessert, and it was frozen so couldn't eat it. read more

Our 5th or 6th time there for dinner. Solid food - salmon is always fresh tasting. Moist yet cooked through. Smashed potatoes and brussel sprouts are great sides. Kids menu is a bargin ($4). Beer selection is fun! read more

Definitely a diamond in the rough. This little hole in the wall bar has some of the best beer and best food in the area, and maybe the best food I've had in a while! Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Menu is limited, so far nothing bad. Lots of rare beer and even rarer liquors. Definitely a must try! read more

Great food and good beer. I have th fish tacos and they were fantastic. My husband had the burger of the day which had crab dip on it, it was awesome as well...I kept having to take tastings of his. Great place. read more

While the food and beer are very good, the service is rough. There is one server for the dining area who is also serving as the bartender. We been in the restaurant for over an hour and a half to have one drink and a sandwich. Most if that time was spent waiting. read more

20 brews on tap that run the gamut. Food is really good with a rather extensive menu. Had the prime rib Vietnamese style Bahn Mi. Matched it with a porter and was ready for a New Year's Day nap! Time to jump into a project nonetheless. read more

We originally wanted to visit the Roasthouse Pub for the large selection of craft beers they advertised on the sign out front. What a pleasant surprise! Not only is the beer selection awesome (they even have some gluten free options!) but the food is the greatest find. Perfect place for the foodie looking for good pub food. We had the most amazing jalapeño burger that was cooked to perfection and topped with jalapeño bacon, thinly sliced jalapeños, thick slice of buffalo mozzarella, nice greens, and this 'to die for' carmelized onion jam, on a pretzel bun... making it the perfect blend of sweet, salty, sour and a little bit of heat. The house salad was exceptional as well. Best find in food that we've had in years! read more

Food was ok. A little more expensive than what we expected...hot dog was $9. Service absolute fail!! The waitress was great but we had 4 kids with us and waited over an hour for hotdogs! She was aplogetic and gave us money off the bill. read more

If you like craft beer give it a try. The selection is always good. Biggest challenge is parking but we have always found a spot, just be patient. Staff is knowledgeable and food is good. The menu is limited but we have always found something- good solid choices like crab dip, crab cakes, and the French Dip. Also great sides like Brussels Sprouts and potatoes. The burger choice rotates, some are too odd for me but my boyfriend is usually all over it whatever it is. read more

I will absolutely NEVER go back, its a shame I cannot give 0 stars! They do have 20 craft beers on tap which is nice but I don't drink 9oz. or 10oz. at a time at the 16oz. price. Its a ripoff to pay $6.00+ for a 9oz. beer. I would rather drink a brewer's alley beer 16oz at a time for less than RH-Pub's. Most of the beers on tap there are available in bottles at local liquor stores. The brewers bottle them in 12oz bottles so sell your draft beer in a 12 beer glass. Not to be too picky but you don't drink a pale ale from a snifter glass its like drinking wine from a margarita cactus glass so if you want to specialize in beer, serve it in the right glass. Also its not like they did their homework and searched for 10 - 20 different craft beer brewers, instead they just have a bunch of flying dog and a few other brands, so there is nothing new or uncommon when it comes to their beer. Well their menu is crap, it doesn't even have a burger on it; so the menu doesn't match the style of bar they're named (pub). How do you have a "pub" and not have a good burger on the menu. The portions are tiny, which is disappointing because pubs are known for good portion size. Just because you throw small quantity bland food on a square fancy white plate doesn't make it fancy. I got red roasted potato's as the side, which was disgusting; they were black burned potato's. I wanted to take a picture to post on here but my phone battery was too low. I counted 6 red roasted potato's and they're about 3/4" x 3/4", come on, really???? It was an absolute joke how little food I got. Pubs sell FRENCH FRIES.. NOT RED BURNED ROASTED POTATOS. I overheard the table next to us ask one of his friends "is this it?" when they put his food in front of him. They joked about how he just paid $15.00 for $2.00 worth of turkey. You need to figure out what kind of restaurant you are trying to be. If you're going to put small portions on a fancy plate and call yourself a gastropub, your food doesn't even match what upscale should taste like. Your interior is nice but its too standard if you want to be upscale. So if you're trying to be a pub, slow down on the small portions and fancy plates. Serve pub food if you're trying to be a pub. Either way pick what you're going to be and be it. Most gastropubs have pub food plated well and on high end bakery buns. You definitely missed the boat if you're trying to be a gastropub. The air conditioning was either not on, not working, or just not sufficient for that place. It was a low 90's day and I was sweating sitting in there. My wife, who is always cold, even said that she was hot. OK some nice things.. They have a very pretty bar and interior. The carpenter who did the woodwork on the interior did a very nice job. My waitress was attractive and nice. Unfortunately that was it. Good luck but I will not return to spend my money there. Odd isn't it? If you notice below on the filtered reviews a Kevin B. signed up for Yelp and only left ONE yelp about this restaurant. Noting 5 starts and a one liner? The chef's name is Kevin Barnette.. (kevin b.) coincidence? Makes me laugh, it takes quite a character to review one's self with 5 stars. Its nice that Yelp actually removed the review because it goes against their guidelines of reviewing yourself. Now the 5 star reviews for this place are by people who create an account, and only rate one place.. this place.. looks like the ownership is trying to get their own rating up between all of the other bad reviews. If you spent as much time trying to improve your pub as you are making fake reviews, you might win some customers back. read more
